Chicken fried rice

Ordered by phone in advanced for pick up to-go. When we got back home the chow mein had atleast 85% oily onions, cabbage and veggies and only a few burnt noodles with chicken. I asked for light veggies. The chicken fried rice was burned fried rice, it looked and tasted burnt. I was sad to have had this experience as this spot came recommended. We will not be returning.

if I could give this place a minus zero I would! I bit into a piece of glass and it made my tongue bleed. I called and told them what happened and the worker or owner said that she didn't believe me. I'm so glad that I was the one who ate the glass because I was going to serve it to children. Then she told me to bring it back which I had no problem with but I'm just so flabbergasted that she pretty much called me a liar. Bad form Tea Garden! never going back!

Combo #8: the best thing here is the fried wontons smothered in sweet and sour sauce

Although the prices were fair, the food was not to par. I got the veggie chow mein and it barely tasted like anything. It had that yummy smell first and then I took my first bite and was disappointed. It had a heavy onion taste and that's about it. I also got the fried rice with pork and the mar far chicken and both were just as bland. With our combo was a wonton soup that tasted like lightly salted water and the wontons themselves just tasted like the beef within it. The saving grace was the crab fried wontons. Those were pretty decently flavored and that's about the only thing I would buy again from this place.

I decided to give the place a try as I had been curious about it for a while. I went during lunch to check out the specials. As expected, there were several different combinations available. I settled on the less-adventurous choice of orange chicken, fried rice and fried wonton. The place was fairly quiet (though not dead) during the lunch hour. I was told to choose my seat, and the tables and upholstery were reasonably clean. Service was fine. Nobody really checked on me from when the food arrived until the point when I got the check. The food was decent. I chose wonton soup as an appetizer. It arrived in a glorified teacup with two wonton, which I thought was a bit skimpy. The broth was pretty bland. The orange chicken had a lighter color (more golden than brown) and consistency than I'm used to. I did like the fact that it appeared to be healthier white meat as opposed to the traditional (but to be fair, generally more flavorful) dark meat. The wonton were fried well though there was minimal filling. The rice was unremarkable. Unfortunately there was a miscommunication where I had requested more hot peppers in my chicken, but ended up with a lot of diced green bell pepper added to the chicken. Oh well. Additionally, when I requested garlic chili sauce, it was brought out in a small bowl similar to a teacup without any lid. The bowl was cold so it had probably been sitting in a fridge. In the sauce I saw several bits of rice, which indicated that the spoon had probably been in contact with someone else's food and dipped back into the sauce where it stayed for an undetermined amount of time until it found its way to me. I may return at some point but nothing about my initial visit inspired me to return any time soon.

I found this restauraunt on Yelp and we reserved it for my birthday dinner on a Saturday night. We sat by the window and had a beautiful view of the sunset and bay. Upon being seated we were served some bread with some whipped butter mixed with some sort of seafood I believed? I forgot, but the butter was delicious. Our first round of bread however, was average at best and was very dense and doughy. The next rounds of bread were significantly better though, so maybe there's an inconsistency with the way they bake their bread in-house. I ordered the seafood penne pasta and my boyfriend ordered the king salmon with risotto. Both were "specials" and were not on the menu. However after digging into reviews here, it seems they are not so much specials since both dishes have been served here for the past 7ish years. Seafood penne pasta: I would rate a 3/5, maybe a 2.5/5. The pasta itself was not al dente which was disappointing. The "star" of this dish was supposed to be the scallop, which was severely undercooked! It was super soft and mushy. The shrimp was alright...some were overcooked. The salmon was also dry. I think the only thing I really enjoyed was the mussels, clams, and the sauce. The sauce had some curry with a small kick to it. This dish was just okay. Escargot: We ordered as our appetizer, I'd give it a 3.5/5! The escargot was a little soft but paired wonderfully with the bread. Creme brûlée: 3/5. Our waitress kindly put a birthday candle on it for my birthday. :) I enjoyed it, and it was very custardy! The downside was that the sugar on top was too burnt. I can't speak much for my boyfriend's dish, I did have a bite of his salmon and it was alright, maybe a bit too salty. The service however was wonderful and our waitress was super kind and helpful. Maybe I would come back to try another dish if I'm back in the area.

Smalls has such a flair in the kitchen for amazing food and amazing service…read more Me and my wife were looking for a dog friendly place to eat and Smalls was gracious enough to let us come in with ours . Mind you our dogs are very well behaved so we were just grateful for them allowing us. They even brought out a dog bowl for water . The vibe was just really beautiful and decorated beautifully. It's perfect for date nights or family dinners. Service was amazing, we had Emma and Matt, between them both we were taken care of from all angles. The food was pretty delicious , I got their chicken artichoke... the sauce was amazing, the chicken was tender, the shrimp was delicious. My wife got the eggplant parmigiana, she absolutely love the eggplant and but she said the sauce and the pasta was ok. She did enjoy it overall. We closed it all off with their Colombian coffee creme brulee. The flavors were there but the custard did not sit appropriately... so it was a little more liquid and warm. The flavors were there so we enjoyed it. We love the heart that Smalls has in its ambitious nature and know they will only grow from here. If we lived in the area this would probably be a regular for us to go to. It seems like the chef loves to try new things and have new specials so you just can't go wrong with that.

Driving through Northern CA and did not expect such a filling and fun meal…read more This spot is definitely a Chinese, Korean, Japanese fusiony spot that I did not expect to find here. We ordered the Chinese Style Lamb Stew, Cheese Corn, Kung Pao Vegetables, and it came with a side of banchan. Every single dish here was absolutely delicious and piping hot! We ended up ordering a second plate of banchan because it was so good. The daikon radish had the most satisfying crunch and the others- cabbage and bean sprouts were very well pickled too! Cheese corn was sweet and honestly a good pairing with the very soury/ pickled soup. The kung pao vegetables would have definitely fooled me if I wasn't told it was mushroom. The batter holds on the oyster mushrooms just like chicken does. Well seasoned. Service was very impressive - there was a single waitress serving lots of tables. She had amazing recommendations and really seemed like she knew what she was doing. Very kind and attentive the entire time. Would love to return.

The pan fried chicken dumplings were from Costco, the spicy beef ramen left much to be desired and had an extremely dry egg. And then my friends chow mein came out half way through our meal (they forgot), had no veggies and was sweet?? They kind of attempted to fix it, so we were willing to let things go. That was one thing, then as we were waiting for them to pick up our card to pay, our server, Mira, loudly complained to her coworker about us sending the food back and how we were "pissed" (we weren't, until she started almost yelling about the situation to her coworker). Extremely unprofessional. Makes us second wanting to return in the future.
