4 stars for the food, 5 stars for the two little ladies that waited on me hand and foot. I entered around 1:30, a little past their normal lunch rush. The buffet was getting low and they hurried back and stocked everything I wanted and brought me fresh steamed rice and fresh steamed dumplings. They continued to check on me and extremely helpful and pleasant. Did I mention the food was excellent. Small lunch buffet, enormous service and personality. Will be back again! Not good at all , I ordered two ordered 2 orders of spicy chicken fried rice with white meat, I got two orders of bland chicken fried rice with dark meat. The rice was dry like it been sitting for awhile. I have been going there since it open ,the last 2 times have not be good at all. Won't go back read more

We've been coming to Tea Garden since the early 90s when my children were very young & my husband and I used to come here often. It has not really has changed, it's still beautiful on the inside, warm and inviting and exactly the same delicious wholesome fresh food. Our favorite dishes are Moo Shoo Pork, Sesame Chicken & Lo Mein, Rangoons, Spring Rolls & their hot Jasmine tea! Love this place so much! read more

We have been going to Tea Garden since our children were small. That's a long time ago, and Tea Garden is hands-down the restaurant with the most consistently high-quality food around. The food is made in small batches, so it is always fresh. The steam table looks small, but that's deceiving. It has dumplings, rangoons, spring rolls, chicken on a stick, chicken tempura, and wings for appetizers.There is always delicious egg drop soup and hot and sour soup. There is a cabbage slaw for fresh vegetables. Fried rice and noodles are available, as well as 7-8 rotating entrees. They often have a vegetarian selection on the buffet. The buffet lunch includes a drink at no extra cost. The difference between what is on the buffet at Tea Garden and the larger buffet is taste. Everything on the Tea Garden buffet is meticulously prepared and perfectly spiced. It's always hot and fresh. On larger buffets, nothing is bad, but most dishes are mediocre. At a larger buffet, when I am forced to go there by circumstances, I tend to overeat as I try to find something that tastes as good as what they serve at Tea Garden. If you're in the Olathe area, stop by the strip mall at 127th and Mur-Len. Treat yourself to a taste of China. read more

Have been going to this restaurant for over two decades and always had wonderful food, but not so wonderful tonight! The pan fried noodles were petrified, worst ever! Our take-out order was messed up. We ordered crab rangoon and I think it was spring rolls that we received instead. I also ordered salt and pepper chicken on a stick... some kind of dried up meat that was tough and not fit for human consumption. Total disappointment all the way around. The tea Garden is definitely my favorite Chinese restaurant in the area. I've been going there for quite a few years and the service and food is amazing. The owner recognizes countless customers by name and the food and drinks are always delivered quickly. I would reccomend the steamed vegetable dumplings. The combinations are also very good and they are always willing to make substitutions for dietary restrictions. read more

It's been almost 12 years since I've been here and it was just as good as I remembered. The customer service is incredible. After asking us what kind of things we liked they basically custom made our dish. My husband likes really spicy things so his dish could have been more spicy but mine was perfect! They brought out a good amount of rice which was nice for my husband as he likes a lot of rice with his meal. I really enjoyed our visit and we will definitely come back to visit. Just a note, I'm not one to give a 5-star rating to a restaurant so keep that in mind. Tea Garden is a pleasant restaurant with very good Chinese food. I went here yesterday for their lunch buffet. The owners were incredibly sweet and service was amazing. The buffet was so little! Not very many choices but they had all my favorites so there wasn't anything wrong with it to me :) The food tasted great and again, good service. Going back again soon. read more

We have come here for years and always enjoy it!! We started with the Hot and Sour Soup, which was delicious though not overly spicy. I had the Purple Moon as usual, an eggplant dish with a sweet brown sauce. My husband had the Shrimp and Scallops with Garlic Sauce. He loved it though he said it wasn't terribly garlic-y. He enjoyed the textures and colors. Service was quick and friendly. We'll be back!! read more

Small buffet at lunch but pretty tasty.

First time here and we love it! Quiet environment and really good food. Service was on time and on point. We will come back for sure! I ordered the broccoli beef and it was the perfect portion. My husband ordered general tsao chicken and ate the entire plate! Our daughter really enjoyed the tofu in the egg drop soup. Such a wonderful experience! read more
