Miller Ale House Shrimp has always been the go to app for us so it's not surprising that it's great here too. My wife had the baby back ribs special and she loved them. They were fall off the bone delicious and tender. The bbq sauce was amazing. However, the broccoli was tasteless and my wife put salt on it to add some flavor. I had the Atlantic Salmon which is one of the best salmon I've had at a sit down chain restaurant. I had my salmon blackened with sides of rice and a loaded baked potato. The salmon was very tasty and did not have that overwhelming fishy taste that a lot of fish dishes have. The rice was ok. The loaded potato was great. I have no complaints on my order I ate everything. The service was mediocre. Our waitress was nice but not attentive. She took over 20 minutes to give me my first refill. And at one point we had 2 empty cups, the menus that we no longer needed and two dirty plates that we used for the appetizer at the end of our table and we still had wait 15 minutes to have it cleared from the table. Our waitress just seemed preoccupied with other things during our service. The atmosphere was cool. It wasn't loud as compared to other Miller Ale House. The room temperature was good it seemed around 72 degrees which is the temperature I use at my house. It wasn't crowded on this day and the TVs showed a variety of channels so no complaints. So here's my perspective and experience, my husband and I have been dying to check out this newer location but haven't really had the opportunity until just recently and wow did we enjoy ourselves. Side note - I'm compiling my two recent visits into one review. So our first visit was back in June, right after my daughter's elementary school graduation we decided to swing by for a celebratory lunch. There was quite a bit more people waiting for seating than we were expecting, we were quoted a 10 minute wait, we were not expecting to be seated in 10 minutes with the groups of people we saw waiting, so we said okay if we have to wait over 15 minutes we'll find somewhere else. Well to our surprise we were seated within the quoted 10 minutes! Well sat down and saw the extensive menu, so many great options, a lot more than what we remember from the location we used to visit off of Tamiami. We also noticed a great lunch special deal, we decided to take advantage. I ordered the masa de puerco with a side of rice and yuca (pictured). I loved the presentation and was so pleasantly surprised by the portions considering it was a lunch special. Everything was very yummy! My daughter ordered a soup and side of rice and my husband a sandwich, they each really enjoyed their selections. On our next visit, we really splurged on the menu, we ordered arroz imperial with a side of plantains, stuffed peppers with a side of avocado and eggplant stacks, malanga chips with artichoke dip, and finally a turkey pesto sandwich. And I ordered the Maria Cookie Cold Foam as a sweet treat. This time we missed the lunch special but we saw online a $10 off coupon which was awesome. We loved everything that we ordered! Our waitress let me know the stuffed peppers are not ordered often and I mostly would love to encourage folks to try that one out, it's stuffed with cauliflower rice, chicken, and cheese, so flavorful. The eggplant stack on the side was very unique, it had a sun-dried tomato mix in between. The arroz imperial was great however, my only feedback on this dish is that I was expecting some ham as there's typically ham layered into the imperial rice, this rice was delicious, so yummy but it didn't have that ham which was a bit of a miss for me. I still very much enjoyed my meal but the ham would've been 10/10. Finally the other star of our meal the malanga chips with artichoke dip, that was so so good, the chips alone held a lot of slavor but with the dip - mega game changer, we plan on ordering that appetizer every time! Anyways this review is long enough but I'll end on, great food, great pricing both times, appropriately quoted wait times both visits, nice and attentive staff, and beautiful decor inside. Good food overshadowed by an unacceptable gratuity practice…read more The food at Sergio's was delicious, and the service was pretty good. On those points alone, this would have been an easy positive review. However, the payment process completely changed my impression. An 18% gratuity was automatically added to the bill. I normally tip around 20% anyway, so tipping itself is not the issue. The problem is that it was not disclosed, and then the payment terminal still prompted for an additional tip with options like 7%, 8%, and 9%, which appear to be normal tip choices but are actually on top of the already-added 18%. That is extremely misleading. A tip is supposed to be voluntary. Secretly adding a tip and then prompting customers to add another crosses the line from convenience into something that feels deceptive. I don't appreciate a business deciding that I will tip and what I will tip with my money, especially without making it obvious up front. Honestly, how does a business decide it's acceptable for them to decide that they will tip themselves with my money? And without my say so? The meal itself was good, but this practice overshadowed the entire visit. Check your bill carefully before paying. Or skip this place all the same. This is borderline theft.
