I shop at Lakeshore in Nevada a few times a year. When they have sales, specials, coupons, and when I'm prepping my room for the new school year. I love the variety and quality of the items they carry. I was excited for the deals we got with the 50% off coupon code online on the website. It is a buy one, get one 50% off. Right as you walk in, it's so clean and the space is very chill unlike most cafes that glare music, the music they had was subtle and perfect for remote work. They serve different types of coffee and tea and some baked goods. The space to work was large and didn't have to speed walk to save a spot. The bookstore was well stocked with good books so during a work break, I got some stickers, a new book and a fun little trinket for my purse! Definitely recommend this spot for a nice place to work remotely, sip drinks and eat baked goods. Oh and they also serve mimosas! I didn't order one this time but I will next time!

Checked out the cutest little bookshop yesterday and honestly, I don't even know where to start…read morebecause there were so many wonderful things about this place. From the moment we walked in, it felt welcoming, and full of whimsy charm. One of my favorite things was that they had a wall dedicated to local authors, which I absolutely loved. Supporting local businesses and local creatives means a lot to me. They also had so many events happening for both adults and children, such a fun community centered space rather than just a bookstore. If you stop by, make sure to grab their summer bingo printable too. The staff was incredibly sweet, welcoming, and genuinely eager to help. They had a really great selection for both children and adults, so it felt like there was something for everyone. Another huge plus in my book was that they accept ESA, which is so helpful for families using those funds for educational materials along with pouring back into our community. She also shared that they have an outdoor patio space for event but due to summer temps it's usually more popular in the cooler months. Honestly, the only downside is that I wish I would've discovered this place sooner.

Imagine my delight to realize that the Changing Hands Tempe location was mere minutes away from our previous stop! Of course, we had to visit. I was immediately engrossed by the assortment of non-cheesy and extremely cool gift items that were at the front of the store, but also sprinkled throughout the location. I also really enjoyed that they had both new and used books. I try to limit myself to purchasing used books for environmental concerns, but it's tricky to find new titles pre-owned, so I justified a splurge and purchased two new books. The prices for both new and used books were extremely fair. In addition to the copious amounts of books, gift items, indie bookstore merch, and everything else wonderful, they also have a photo booth! My sister and I have an agreement to indulge in every photo booth we stumble upon, so we were super excited to happen upon one here. I can't say enough good things about this spot. It was once located in the University Center (UCENT) Building and is now located on the northeast corner of the new law school building. I enjoy browsing the many Sun Devil items from State 48 shirts to books to gifts for others to fancy button-down shirts and polos for me. They honor discounts for alumni and employees. I visited the store recently just after the start of the new semester, and they even had a few items up for sale. The staff are helpful and friendly, and there is plenty for everyone as the store is a good size with all sorts of potential gift items for others or yourself. Paid parking is available in lots or in meters just around the area where the store is. It is open Mondays through Thursdays from 9 AM to 4:30 PM and Fridays from 9 AM to 4 PM. It is closed Saturdays and Sundays. There are several different areas within the store from the bookstore in the back to the general campus store throughout the rest of the store. There is also an active store online, where you can sign up for e-mails and get 10% off today by going to https://www.bkstr.com/arizonastatestore. Every now and then, there are clearance sales or employee or alumni appreciation sales including discounts on Apple educator prices each year. Two years ago, I recall a promotion where many products were 75% or more off in a grand clearance, which I've only seen happen once every so many years. I highly recommend any Sun Devil student, faculty, staff, alumni, or fan in general to visit this store at some point!
