This used to be one of my favorite spots in mount adams, so I had to try the OTR re-opening. We ordered chicken lettuce wraps, dim sum, and crunch munch roll to start. The roll was super fresh and I loved the dim sum. The lettuce wraps I could do without (not a ton of flavor & don't compare to PF changs). For entrees, we ordered chicken pad Thai and red curry chicken. The pad Thai lacked flavor and didn't even compare to the original Teak. We told the waiter and he agreed that something has changed and it's not their best dish anymore. The red curry was delicious with lots of veggies and perfect amount of heat. We were there 7 people. Disappointed with the quality of food and the service. Pad thai had no flavor, I asked for 4 spicy had no spice at all. Greencurry with chicken was bad taste. Papaya salad had no flavor. Cocktails had no alcohol. There are many small thai restaurants in Cincinnati has better food for sure. read more

Had a great girls night date at Teak OTR! The restaurant is in a perfect spot for a night of dinner and drinks - walking distance to many OTR bars and eateries. We ordered a calamari appetizer to start and it was unbeatable. The fish was tender and seasoned well and paired perfectly with the delicious chili sauce it was served with. We also shared an order of pork fried rice which quite literally melted in my mouth. It was amazing. For myself I ordered a chicken pad thai at a spice level 5 (out of 10) to be safe. While it was similar to other pad thais I did think it lacked some flavor. However, I'd be willing to go back and up the spice level to see if it changed anything. Three of us had a 6 pm dinner here before a concert at Music Hall. We had reservations but we did not comment to our servers on how much time we had for dinner. We shared a huge bowl of mussels and a plate of 8 pieces of sashimi, as appetizers. The muscles were spiced with basil and fresh ginger. The sashimi had spiral daikon radish and cucumber served with the fish. All of the mains were served on long, narrow ceramic plates, that looked as much like a tray as a plate, with the food nicely arranged. The portions were large. One of us had Crispy duck which was served with an assortment of vegetables and had sauce in a pitcher. One had Crispy pork belly served with mixed Asian vegetables, and garnished with kimchee and anise glaze. Both of these came with a large bowl of pain, white rice. The third had seared Scottish salmon with Thai black soy glaze which was served with ginger coconut rice and mixed vegetables. This diner also had the seaweed salad, which he liked. The food was excellent and so generous in portions that there was more than we could eat. The restaurant was full by the time we got our drinks but service was quick and attentive so we had no trouble getting to our 7:30 concert. Thank god Teak is back! I used to love this place when it was in Mt Adams, it was my to go Thai place and ever since I haven't found another one like it. I was driving by the places a few days back and noticed it was open so I had to check It out. I'm glad I can say that they were just what I was expecting! We came in and were seated right away, the waiter was very friendly and attentive, so awesome service as soon as you come in. The atmosphere is great along with the decor, very simple yet up to date ( and following healthy standards). We went ahead and ordered two Thai teas, which we didn't drink because they were too sweet, and I can't blame them because I should of asked what the tea had, I didn't know it had milk and sugar so that was my fault. Moving to the important part, we ordered a tuna roll, I believe it was the Spicy Duo Roll, and it was extremely yummy, I loved it because the tuna was so well prepared and fresh I would deft go back for sushi! Moreover, as entrees we had the Vegetable Thai spicy and the Seared Salmon, both dishes were the best, so full of flavor, and the amount was just right. I'm so excited to have sushi and thai in OTR; it's definitely filling a gap that was missing in the food scene. I went a few nights ago and tried a number of dishes. This used to be a good restaurant. My recent and final visit was dismal. Ordered a salmon plate called Jungle Fish(?). Yuck. My Manhattan was so watery I ordered a strait shot to bolster it. But here's the kicker. We paid the check and were finishing drinks and a bus boy asked us to vacate our table, (because there was a line), and finish our drinks at the bar, where there was no room. For Valentine's Day weekend, I surprised my husband and we went to Cincinnati, OH. We're from Indiana. With Covid still going on, the people were very kind and very attentive at Teak. Walking in, we were warmly greeted and seated very quickly. The waitress was very nice and talked to us. After we informed her we weren't from there she welcomed us to Cincinnati and asked us if we had any questions. We got the lettuce wraps for starters. I then got a curry and my husband got a dish. I was excited to go to Teak this evening with my daughter. This was my first time there since their move from Mt Adams. What a disappointment! We both ordered pad Thai with tofu - mine was a level 2 and my daughter's a number 4. I ordered a coke but they were out and went with a sprite. When we got our food, it looked good but I thought there was a lot of tofu on the plate. The tofu was so hard and dry - it was just not good. My pad Thai was so sweet that I couldn't eat it. My daughter ate her noodles but felt the same about the tofu. We were asked if we wanted boxes but I said no and told her why. The server smiled and that was it. I paid and left. Owner and General Manager Chanaka Delanerolle previously owned Teak in Mt Adams, along with Fish House, The Celestial, and Longworths. Over time , during approximately 2014-2017, the beautifully nestled, once popular quaint hillside community was left without restaurants to enjoy. All four were shut down due to non payment of taxes by Chanaka. According to neighborhood patrons, there were also issues with health code violations. Health codes were created to protect the public from the spread of foodborne illnesses. These rules are enforced by restaurant health inspections. Restaurants are fined for not adhering to the health code, and can even be shut down if they make egregious mistakes. Granted, that was in the past. I was looking forward to trying the new location because the restaurant itself, bar, and big windows are beautiful. When my pad Thai was served with lack of flavor at his new location, it took me by surprise. I also ordered the hot and sour shrimp soup. However, it had no shrimp. Not one piece of shrimp. It was rung in incorrectly or was served incorrectly. When I ordered the pad Thai with spice level of 5 of 10, it was served as 0 of 10. No flavor. I never, I mean never post reviews about restaurants. I understand places are struggling to find and keep good help under the pressure of covid, but what occurred last night was just not right. We came to celebrate my son's 24th birthday. We had a reservation and were seated immediately. First of all the place is crammed with tables, we could barely get in our seats. Not a good sign during these times. Our server greeted us and took our drink order which took her 3 times to confirm, it was 2 vodka cranberries and a water, hmm. We waited and waited and waited. In meantime she took our appetizer order, again she kept having to confirm the order. She literally scratched her head in confusion as she walked away. She then returns with 2 drinks that are not cranberry and vodkas and again looks confused like we were mistaken. We reminded her of our order and she walked away and wondered around looking for whomever ordered these drinks. She actually came back to us again but realized nope still not us. She finally put those down and brings our watered down drinks. At this point we get our appetizers along with someone else's. We're starting to feel like we're being punked. Where's the cameras? As we're eating, my husband comes in and orders a drink which takes forever, gets lost and she tells him someone took it and she's making another one on the house. Um what is going on? At this point we've decided we're going somewhere else. As our table is being cleared our waitress comes by and says our appetizers will be out shortly! Huh, we told her we just ate our appetizers! The food was marginal at best, the drinks were watered down and the service was the THE WORST SERVICE I've endured. We ended up going home to eat leftovers because we were starving and didn't want to wait for an hour to get in anywhere else. That's how bad Teak OTR is. read more

Yikes. It wasn't great. And honestly I was SO excited I'd been wanting to go for awhile... but the food was really subpar and it took forever (literally 30+ m) to get to us. I got a few basic sushi rolls and pad Thai and the sushi had absolutely no flavor and the tofu pad Thai was completely over cooked. My sister got flat noodles and it arrived with a plate full of vegetables with literally 3 noodles. It was just really disappointing. I told our waitress but she really couldn't do much. The food was okay, I expected more after the hype I had heard from some friends. It was super loud and I felt like I had to yell to hear my friend across the table. I definitely recommend the pot stickers for an app. The only thing that really put me off was our reservation was at 8pm and we didn't get seated right away and we paid our bill around 9:30pm. We also got one check after she asked what we would prefer and we said separate? Which isn't that big of a deal but why ask if you aren't going to oblige. Was very disappointed in our experience at Teak. We ordered two appetizers, the crab puffs and the calamari. We really enjoyed the crab puffs. I had a sushi roll (the flamingo) and it was basically just rice and avocado with a slice of jalapeño on top. There was barely any fish. My boyfriend had the Teak Trio. Midway through eating he tells me to look at the rice and there was a bug in it. We told our waitress and she made an embarrassed laugh and asked if we wanted more rice to which we replied no thanks.
