Just discovered this place on yelp and wanted to check it out! It was pretty good and the servers are really nice! You can order online or in person, but it might be easier just to order beforehand and pickup! This place is pretty popular! I got the taro milk and Gilroy sunrise! Half sweet is still pretty sweet, but they were still good! I just added some water when I got home and it was perfect after. The grilled pork belly banh mi was also really good. A little too much mayo, but I still ate it all lol! Doesn't taste like an authentic banh mi and gives off some asian fusion vibes, but once again, it was still really good! My wife has been eyeing this place for awhile because she wanted some garlic fries. Today, we decided to stop by after coming back from Santa Cruz Beach Boardwalk. We order the Thai tea, banh mi fries, pork belly banh mi sandwich and garlic fries. As you can see, I don't have a picture of the garlic fries cause it look so disappointing It was just a some fries topped with very little of garlic bits. Couldn't really taste anything. As for the Thai tea, it was refreshing. Only complaint about the tea is that it was a bit creamy. Wanted to taste more of the Thai tea. Next is the banh mi fries. They didn't skimp out on the meat portion. It was good but wish it had more flavor to the sauce. Sauce was bland along with the meat. The cilantro brought out the flavor. If they would add the sauce to the fries before adding the condiments then that would have been better. Now, onto the pork belly sandwich....it look disappointing. Wish the meat portion was more. Came to this place exactly one week ago. We ordered the exact same thing and as you can tell one is completely different with whipped cream, caramel, and a marshmallow. Today we came in expecting the exact same level of service but instead we got a cashier that was very dismissive when taking our order. We waiting a whole 30 minutes for two drinks. We did not have an issue waiting for our drinks since we knew it was a treat we were going to enjoy and was worth waiting for. The cashier ended up being the one who made our order and literally just threw everything in a blender and made the drink in a minute. Coming from a previous barista myself, if you have orders that include food and are going to take longer since the food has to cook. You put the food to cook and start pushing drink only orders out. When we were observing the drink questioning why they looked completely different the cashier yelled from across the bar "Did you want the marshmallow?!" We said no and took our drinks since we had already waited long and she was very dismissive and unwelcoming the whole time. This was a very bad experience and I would recommend anyone coming here to ask the older Asian guy to make your drinks. Last week they were very busy when we came in but he was very nice, pleasant, and made our drinks correctly. Spending $8 on a drink that he makes is worth it. I've been frequenting here since my parents purchased a house down the street. Usually, it's no problem aside from their items being way overpriced. Their Vietnamese sandwiches are OKAY at best. I know and i've had fresh bread from other Vietnamese sandwich places. Their bread is not fresh at all as well as my parents have attested to this too. The drinks are so-so, mainly the only milk tea joint around the area and it's not anything like a \\wow factor// for the cost. I was in my car about to leave Tea Leaf and then I as I reversed, my drink toppled over. I was really pissed off although, I went back in because I still wanted a milk tea drink. At this point I had already purchased two drinks prior. I explained the situation to the owner and she said, "I give you free boba." Ok thanks, it probably cost you about $0.37. After handing me my new drink, the owner mentioned, "With the skinny cups at the bottom, you need to put napkin roll around it with the drink holder." Pros: -probably the best boba in town with a good variation of drink selections -super cute cafe like setting with lots of seating without feeling overly crowded even when it's busy - the food that I've ordered from here has always been good I've never had any issues with it not being fresh Cons: -it can take a while but that's understandable as everything is made to order (just don't go in if you're in a rush) -PRICEY a couple drinks can easily run close to $20 here - customer service has never been great here. The employees almost always seem irritated and it definitely can make you feel pretty unwelcome most of the time -kitchen closes about a half hour before the business itself does (so you can order drinks but food items won't be available) and depending on the employees mood sometimes it can be earlier. I actually made a point to get there before the "cutoff" time but was told that the kitchen had already closed because it had been a slow day (WTF?). New in town I always perk up seeing a boba tea shop. Stopped by while waiting on an appointment at Rock Zone and really happy with the taro milk Boba tea and Tea Leaf spring roll! The milk tastes very fresh and creamy, boba perfectly chewy, and can adjust sweetness to liking. The roll was a perfect lunch as I'm trying to cut some carbs (to make room for a boba cheat of course ;), it's a spring roll minus the noodles, lots of fresh veggies and grilled chicken and avocado. It was my sisters and I's first time going here and we did not enjoy the drinks. First of all one of my sisters got the taro drink with boba it was okay. I got the Cafe Sua Da with boba which my understanding is supposed to be Vietnamese coffee which I've had and made before when I used to work at a boba shop and it was very concentrated and tasted disgusting I had to go home and fix it. Then the worse of all was my other sister's drink which was Strawberry Surprise. This place says that they use real fruit, but this drink tasted like pure chemicals that it was undrinkable almost like nail polish remover. I also had to fix this drink to make it even slightly drinkable. We spent 21 dollars in total for horrible drinks that was not even worth the money. I would NOT recommend. Vietnamese Coffee I was super excited to try this place but was disappointed in the customer service & how my drink was made. I asked for the employee opinions which weren't helpful, very minimal conversation yet they had side conversation going. The quality of the drink was great but I basically paid $5 for ice topped with coffee. Maybe I ordered the wrong thing but from past experiences Vietnamese coffees are typically the same amount of liquid as tea. In the pictures below you can see that the ice hadn't even melted yet and I was already done with my drink. I've been looking for a great tea place for awhile now only to discover there's one I missed right down the road from where I live it was recommended to me by an employee at Starbucks so I gave it a try and I wish I had discovered this months ago as its probably the best tea house I've been to thus far! They messed up our order and told us to wait outside, every time we came in to check on our order they kept telling us to wait outside some more. Finally we got our drinks after about an hour.
