The window sign says Since 1924, inside it's homey and cozy, staff was pleasant. We had blueberry pancakes, with eggs & bacon and tea. They had a nice selection of teas to choose from. It was basic home cooking, nothing out of the ordinary, but we had no complaints. read more

Lucky find on a road trip with family! I wish this place were a lot closer to my house! It's like having breakfast at your moms. You're comfortable the second you walk in. The ladies running everything we're super friendly. Several of us had the house made corned beef hash with two eggs, hash browns and toast which was perfect. This place is fantastic! homemade jams and pies and all kinds of baked goods. All the food that we have had has been excellent from the creamy quiche to the delicate omelettes and homemade biscuits and gravy. When you walk in you feel like family (assuming your family likes you) every time we have visited everyone, staff and customers alike have been in a really great mood and super friendly. Really great food and huge servings for the price! You'll definitely be full for a long time after eating at this place! I ordered 3 biscuits with honey and my boyfriend got the country fried steak special. His came with 2 eggs 2 whole pieces of toast, hash browns, and a large country fried steak with gravy. Mine cost $1.45 per biscuit and his cost a total of $9 which was well worth it! The biscuits were dense and soft and very clearly homemade. I'm a big biscuit head and these were one of the best I've ever had! The honey was just packed honey but it did the job, I was full after eating 2 and took the third home for dinner. My boyfriend cleared most of his plate and the waitress even offered some homemade strawberry jam for the toast! I tried it and it was so fresh tasting! All together I ended up paying $14 and some change to be full and happy well into the evening. We will be going back in the near future! read more

The place doesn't look like much from the outside but I'm glad we gave it a try. Not many places that you can get two eggs, hashbrowns, meat, toast & coffee for only $7!! A huge healing plate of food cooked fresh & super quick. We sat at the breakfast bar and I was in awe of the cook. Never flustered but never stopping. All the food coming off the grill looked delicious. Definitely nothing fancy but all the food looked truly home cooked. Give it a shot! read more

It's a tiny little place busy all the time, the front counter is amazing the grill is right there, the chef in the back is an amazing lady and her food is wonderful. Found this tucked away little restaurant/pastry shop on a girls trip to Chicago. It was small yet charming and there were fresh baked pies, muffins, biscuits, and cinnamon rolls tucked into cooling carts in various corners of restaurant. The staff were warm and friendly and happy to show us some of their fresh baked products. Prices were incredibly reasonable and everything tasted super fresh. What a wonderful way to start our girls adventure! Plan to come back on the way home to get some baked goods for the family and while we're there we may as well grab some brunch! read more

This may well have been the best breakfast I've ever had. The eggs were nothing short of sublime and the home made preserves were absolutely spectacular! Stopped last week for lunch after reading reviews here. Like most said - nice, friendly little diner. My wife and I each had different varieties of burgers. Both were very tasty and well prepared. She had fries and said they tasted fresh cut. I don't do fries, so I opted for macaroni salad. Very bland and commercial. 'Probably' from GFS. I'm sure we will be stopping again.
