EDIT: If you want to skip my review and just want to get better service, go somewhere like PC Brokers or even Radioshack. I guarantee if you spend money here, you'll be screwed out of it. These guys are just shiesters after a quick buck. I wouldn't be surprised if this fly-by-night operation is gone in another year or two. I really hate writing bad reviews but these guys are a joke. I've been to tons of tech shops from coast to coast and I've never had issues like I did when I walked in. First of all, I walk in and the two guys working the counter are already with other customers. Fine, I understand that. So I browse around their (nearly-nonexistant) wall space to see if I can find what I was looking for. I had a few simple things I needed: A 2.5 to 3.5 inch HDD adapter and a coax splitter. So after about 15-20 minutes of waiting, one of the guys finally freed up. Did he decide to acknowledge me? NOT AT ALL. TERRIBLE CUSTOMER SERVICE. (You could have at least waved and said "Hey, I'll be with you in one moment. You didn't even make eye contact and I swear it seemed like you were trying to avoid me!) So I finally decide to walk up to this guy and initiate and he almost instinctually looks irritated at me... I don't know why, because regardless of the shitty customer service I still approached you with a smile, scraggly haired man. Maybe if you don't like dealing with people you shouldn't work in a public-facing position? Just an idea. So he finally helps me out. They didn't have the HDD adapter. Fine, it's an obscure item. I won't ding you for that one. It ended up being a hassle to find until I went to the PC Brokers on Austin Bluffs. Much more friendly over there. But what really stuck me was that when he found the coax connector, he then proceeded to explain to me that you don't want to buy "gold" coax connectors for various reasons. When I explained that it shouldn't be a problem he STILL TRIED TO TALK ME OUT OF IT. I REPEAT, THEY TRIED TO PREVENT ME FROM SPENDING MY MONEY. I guess being black means my money is no good here? I mean, I hate to call it, but with the adversity and negativity that I received in this establishment, I will never come back. You don't want my money, fine. You got it, but I'm going to let everyone else know how you treated me, because that's just plain wrong. Especailly when, mid-conversation about my coax-splitter, another couple walked in and you IMMEDIATELY acknowledged them. What kind of shit is that? read more

Weird place. It was kind of hard to find and the signage off Garden of the Gods was non existent. It's like a tiny Micro Center. (Denver) I went in and said "I want an i5 or better with at least 1TB for under $500.00." The dude at the little desk looked caught off guard and started typing. He quickly found a HP with 2TB for $580. I told him to show me a demo. They don't really have a demo. in fact they don't really have a show room. I guess that's why you save a bit of money there. The price was right, so he got it sent up from the giant warehouse that I could see through the window behind the dude. We got out of there and it was easy to set up. I was a little surprised how much preloaded spam ware was on there. I suppose that is my only complaint and it's probably standard. I know Best Buy actually charges it's customers $80.00 to remove that crap! No extended warranty pitch, no BS. I would shop there again. read more

Well, where do i start. I spent hours researching televisions trying to find the one that fits my budget and my needs. i found tech for less on eBay and i thought they had great deals. I thought wrong! They sent the TV with some commercial delivery service that does not normally ship to residential addresses according to the woman at the freight company. After a week of trying to arrange a delivery, i finally got it. The TV came in with burnt out pixels and the picture on the screen jumping all over the place. Completely busted television. They're ad said it was new. I was so upset. I called then and i spoke with a girl named Anastasia in the customer service dept. who speaks with a very calming voice and is so nice which i admit calmed me down a lot. I agreed to purchase a different TV from them which cost almost another 200. (Another Big Mistake, What was I thinking?) They shipped it fed ex this time so i was able to get delivery much easier. The package job was amateur at best and i never got the original box the TV came in. it looks used. It came in a brown generic box with two little pieces of Styrofoam holding it in place. I opened and set it up. And then i saw it. It was hard to see at first because the border of this Samsung TV is clear and transparent. So as i was peeling the plastic on the stand i noticed a crack in the corner of the border. Another botched delivery. It looks like it was dropped on its side because when you turn the screen on it looks like something is pressing on it the way a touch screen on your phone looks when you press it. Right now i am sitting here on a Saturday (my day off) waiting for fed ex to come back and pick it up which is what Anastasia told me to do. They gave me a window on when they are coming. Only problem is i just called Fed ex and they haven nothing scheduled at this address at all for the week. The only thing left to do is to call my bank and notify them of this issue and warn all my yelp friends out there. DO NOT BUY FROM TECH FOR LESS!! read more

Waited a full week for delivery and TV was cracked! They were out of that specific TV we ordered now so they couldn't replace it either. They said they would only replace with a dollar for dollar exchange (which would mean a smaller TV). There were plenty that were comparable TV's at $100-200 additional but they said we would have to pay the difference (rude). My thought is, your mistake, fix it! Give us something good since now we would still have to wait another week and it was your fault in the first place. So now that we have missed black Friday/cyber Monday sales waiting on their cracked TV. We have the pleasure of dealing with return shipping and a refund, from not only them but also the two year warranty we purchased through their site. UGH! I placed two orders with this company for overnight shipping and I didn't receive the item and no one can tell me why it wasn't shipped. I keep getting the system was down lie. I used to work for one of these companies and I know the deal. I thought because I was ordering two simple wall switches everything would be ok. Pros of working with Tech for Less: I saved THOUSANDS of dollars on what is essentially a new television. It came in the original box with all necessary wires, remote, etc. The staff I spoke with were prompt and courteous in helping me with the problems I ran into trying to order the TV (see below). Cons: we encountered a very weird problem that shocked TFL, my credit card company and myself, where the intermediary used by TFL was testing to see if my card was real and issuing a denial. We had to use a bank transfer to make the payment, which was fine, but cost me an extra 30 dollars. Worth it for thousands in savings? Yes. Kinda terrifying to do? Also yes. What was really frustrating was that they shipped the TV via ABFreight, whose definition of door to door delivery is the store to the sidewalk in front of your house and even on the day of the delivery, ABF wouldn't help me. I thankfully had a kind stranger help me. ABF is awful so watch out if TFL sends you stuff via ABF. read more

I recently purchased the Samsung Series 5 UN40EH5300 40-inch LED Smart TV - 1920 x 1080 - Clear Motion Rate 120 - NTSC - HDMI / USB / Wi-Fi - Black. TV arrived in perfect condition within 5 days of ordering. It works perfectly and the picture looks great! I can always rely on TFT for the best and reliable products. Was in the market for a digital camcorder. I found the model I wanted adn checked internet and local store prices. Thought I was going to end up paying several hundred for it. I decided to check at this store and found it for significantly less. I got the camcorder, a tripod and a 32g memory card for under $200. Open box item but no blemishes I could find. It works great. The man at the store (John) showed us how to use it and even made sure it had the features we needed for what we are using it for. I got in and out pretty quickly and picked it up from the back dock. I was very happy with the TV, it still had everything all wrapped up and in the box correctly. I can't believe how many poor reviews are on here... I've shopped with Tech for Less a few times and have always had a good experience. You have to realize: this is NOT Best Buy. This is a refurbished/overstocked electronics store. The stuff they sell may have some scuff and scrapes, but it will work well, and it will be very cheap (in comparison to brand-new). The other reviewers here (in my view) seem to expect brand-spanking-new stuff on a shiny showroom floor - if you want that, go to Best Buy, and pay the Best Buy price. Set up multi port montors in home office with monitor splitting cable bought from this company on Amazon, never worked right. Initially, thought it was cables, so bought new cables. Then thought it was monitor differences, so bought a new monitor so both matched, nope. Went to Office Max, bought a new multi port cable, worked immediately. This process took me 5 months as I couldn't believe a new refurbished splitter could be at fault. Requested return, as it was hard to determine it was refurbished product issue, return denied as taking too long. Problem was very hard to pinpoint, as it was intermittent, sometimes one monitor worked, sometimes the other, sometimes both. Since I can't leave a review on Amazon's page, I am leaving a review here. This cost me money and more importantly, time. read more

I recently bought a TV from these guys. Every part of this transaction went worse than any transaction I have ever had online. I made a purchase from you guys which would have been really straightforward buying through amazon. - First I have to call to confirm my identity - Next they tell me they don't have what I ordered - Then they offer me a refurbished TV for $20 less, really? - Then they offered me a different TV which wasn't what I ordered and not a fit for this situation. - Then magically when I want to cancel the order they have the right TV and "it just came in today". - I asked if this is really a new TV explicitly, they tell me yes it was. - Then they shipped me the wrong TV, they shipped me the one I told them I didn't want. - To add insult to injury, the wifi is broken on this set, I called Vizio support (Vizio support were great btw). I find out through Vizio support who have this history of this TV through the serial number that this was a TV originally sold through Best Buy that Tech for Less bought from Best Buy knowing it had an issue which they assumedly should fix before reselling as refurbished. They didn't fix the issue and sold it onto me as "new". Do yourself a favor and save yourself the hassle, buy elsewhere. read more

Outlet store that also sells electronics and other gadgety stuff online. A reseller, with a vast majority of their stuff in the "very used" category, though they claim "like new." This is a shady operation, both in the outlet store and especially online. Avoid this business. They need to step up their game in terms of accurate product description, correct order fulfillment, and customer service. But, if you want to roll the dice, you may get something for the cheap. It could be nasty, broken, and not at all what you wanted, but that's what you get for scraping the bottom of the cheap-ass barrel. read more

Went into the store expecting the kind of experience the computer warehouse stores in the San Jose area had. People who knew their tech. Wanted something very common in the Colorado Springs area. A vdsl2 modem which is what Century Link used for their high speed internet service. The person at Tech For Less had no idea what I was talking about. He told me if I have him a make/model, he'd check stock. I didn't care about who made it. I needed one that could be used with the Century Link service. He refused to try and give anyone who might know more and instead told me to come back when I knew what I wanted. What a moron. I told him explicitly what I wanted and he refused to try and find it. The help in the retail store consist of technically ignorant clerks. Worse, their prices are the highest I've seen in a surplus store. Even Best Buy clerks are much more knowledgeable. read more

I've never had a bad experience, if you need something specific you prob wont find it. But when you need a HD or a simple laptop they've never let me down. Do you research and dont settle for something other that what you want. You may have to keep searching, but if they have it, its usually a good deal! Resellers resell stuff, keep your expectations in line and you can buy the sealed brand new item when available. The one time I had an issue was with a Wii controller not being what the item should've been and they made it right before I left the store. read more

I bought a Dell 1320c Color Laser printer at an amazing price and have been happy with it for a few months. I paid extra to get an open box so it would have the Dell original 1 year warranty. The printer broke to no fault of Techforless but when I called Dell they refused to service the machine because, the item wasn't actually an open box. Actually the item shouldn't of been in the United States, it was an international item. I'm now stuck with a big piece of Dell junk and Techforless won't do anything about it. read more

I ordered an open box TV then same day before shipment I realized that my cities' Best Buy has a better deal and wanted to the purchase to be cancelled . The Customer Service representative told me that they will match the price. Then I let her to ship. When the TV arrived, it was not an open box but a refurbished TV with very poor package with a shipping box no manual was included. I called and complained. At this time she become very unfriendly and told me that there is nothing she can do about it . I went to my local shop and they told me they have a better price and they also told me an open box should arrive with every part including the manual. But they were willing to give me a copy of a manual . I again called and complain to much at list the price as promised . Techforless again confirmed they were not going to match the price . The worst happened when I plugged the TV , it was going on and off by itself . I called and arranged for shipping back the same day . But the customer service told right away they were not going to refund me "you better keep your TV" . However I insisted to ship it back and I was told they will arranged themselves not myself . The shipment was arragend several days later despite my frequent request. I also received an e-mail saying that they will not refund me the full price and also will also charging me for shipping . I was choked to find out their refund policy which stated at the time of purchase "return Policy Highlights: ... You can return or exchange an item purchased within 30 days of the original purchase date. Tech For Less will give you a full refund and will arrange for and pay all shipping costs associated with authorized, defective returns." Which is currently updated to say otherwise . Today I have received 643.70 instead of 927.97 $. I have spent hrs on line with their customer service despite their unwillingness to keep their policy. I live in Michigan and have been purchasing refurbished brand name electronics from Tech for Less for about 3 years. I have bought a Toshiba led 22" tv, a Tivo recorder, a Toshiba 10.1 " notebook computer, binoculars, clock radio with indoor and outdoor temperature display and a Viore 14" led tv. All were in new condition. I could not tell they were refurbished aside from not coming in the original box. I saved at least 50% or more by purchasing these items refurbished from Tech for Less. I am happy that I have found this online store and will continue to do business with them as the need arises. I ordered 50 single use cameras for a class I am teaching. 90% of the cameras are old. At least that is what the developer told me when the 30th roll came out purple. I have kids using these cameras for pictures in their yearbook, and now many of the events can not be printed because of the poor quality.
