I changed my review from 5 to 2 Stars for the following reasons: I have been using this service for 9 years; The last 3 times I went, my car had oil problems. 1 - They invoiced 6 quarts of oil when they only put 4 quarts. 2 - They replaced the dipstick in my car with a defective one. 3 - again my car was missing 2 quarts of oil, when the invoice says it had 6 quarts. I can't take the chance of failing. My vehicle is my means of production. I can express my frustration but I like to let know others about this behavior and faults. read more

Great service! I went to Tech Lube for a synthetic oil change on a Monday morning and didn't have to wait. It's a pretty small place with about 4 bays. The waiting area is tiny but has a couple chairs and a TV. Techs were prompt, friendly, and quick. One of the techs showed me the (dirty) air filter in my car, said he could change it for an additional cost but wasn't pushy about it. All in all, it was great! $58 for the oil change and a vacuum. I was in and out in no time. I would definitely recommend Tech Lube a reasonably priced and efficient oil change. read more

My father drop off his honda hrv for oils change on 6/10/2022, the lube tech stole the Futomo valve and replace them with a regular oil drain plug. Also did not reset the oil life or change the filter just the oil and charge him for filter and oil. I am piss it cost me 40 bucks for the Futomo valve to make it easy for oil change. This is my second time at Tech Lube for an oil change, and I've had great service both times! Not only are they fast, but they have the best prices around. The environment is lively and you can tell the staff have a fun time together. They came by to ask if I'd like to get my air filter switched out by showing how nasty it was, and what the new one would look like, and were playful in asking "are you sure? are you suree??" It wasn't until a few hours later when I was driving that I realized that in addition to all the included services, they helped me remove a giant ugly green violation sticker that was stuck on my window. I had spent 2 hours getting the first one off on the driver side, and gave up halfway on the sticker on the passenger side. I had been pretty upset about it this week, upset that the towing company used a super sticky sticker to notify me that I was violating a parking rule. I wish I noticed this while I was at the shop so that I could thank them in person!!! So I'll say my thank yous here, thanks for the great service! read more

They are super fast - it really does take only 10 minutes! So much faster than going to Monro Muffler. I went at 5:00 pm on a Monday morning and there was no wait. Just drove right in. My car takes a synthetic oil, so my oil change came out to a little over $50. Oil change includes a free in-car vacuum! Couldn't say no to that, because who knows how many almonds have fallen down the cracks of my seat? Waiting area was small, but included coffee and some hard candies. Can't beat this place when it comes to fast and quality service. I have a high mileage car and whenever I need an oil change I come here. About a month ago I needed an oil change but wasn't able to make it there before they closed so I went to Valvoline on American Legion Hwy, what a mistake that was. I paid an extra $15 for the oil change and now my car has been getting worse fuel economy. Lesson learned lol. I'm sticking with Tech Lube from now on. Keep up the good work guys read more

I don't know why anyone would go anywhere else. The whole team is fast, efficient, and great at what they do. They're also extremely fun to watch while you're waiting, since they all seem to have known each other forever and genuinely like each other. As a customer, this is the best kind of energy to feel when it comes to customer service. They instinctively know what needs to be done and if anyone needs extra help. I've seen them go well above and beyond for anyone who drives up, as they have for me. I'm not a car person, so I ask a lot of questions once the hood is up, and each of them has shown me patience and knowledge. They'll also make you laugh if you give them a chance. I've never wished it took longer to change my oil before. Now I tend to linger and chat until they're too busy and I find myself in the way. Not that any of them would say a word to me if I *were* there too long. They're too nice, too polite. Seriously, I don't understand going to any other place. Tech Lube for life! Not gonna lie. I was looking for somewhere to get an oil change on the cheap. I've often paid as much as $80+ to get a change. And while I admittedly don't know a lot about cars, I knew there had to be a better deal. Went to Tech Lube after years of just driving by and was in and out in a little more than 10 mins. The guys were professional, courteous, and even offered to vacuum out the car (it needed it to be honest. And, yeah, the price. Very decent! Asked them about other services they could provide and will probably be back for those (especially since the price on those was also a great deal). read more

It feels weird to be reviewing tech lube, but I'm a total car junkie so I see it should be fit. This is my usual go to place when I don't feel like changing my oil by myself. If you go during the weekdays the wait isn't that long and youre in within 5 minutes . they are specialized in oil changing only so the work is done honestly within 5-7 minutes garunteed. I like tech lube more than jiffy lube or other gas station garages because they are efficient and do things at an extremely fast paced. They also do rebates for you to save the whole mailing process. My oil changes do run up pretty high and Ed, the manager does try to do his best to give discounts and stuff. Definitely a too place to go to or your first oils change especially if getting automotive services intimidates you . read more

In and out for an oil change in 15 minutes! Beats waiting in line at other places just to ask for an estimated time before they can take my car in. The techs are very nice and helpful. They vacuumed my (very dirty) car for free during the oil change, and offered advice about other works that need to be done for my car, and where I can get them done for a reasonable price. It is 34.99 for a regular oil change, which is what.. maybe $5 more than some other places, but I'd take my car here again for any future services, given that it survives the next 3,000 miles. The time and stress that I saved from coming here was well worth the extra $5. read more

I always took my truck to jiffy lube for oil changes but they're getting to be extremely expensive so I decided to take my suv in for an oil change to tech lube.i can only use 10w40 oil and thankkk god they carry it.the guy with the ponytail was very nice the oil techs were very nice too he gave me a $2 discount and a free tire cap because I didn't have one for the back tires.i felt very comfortable talking with him he didnt try and make me get things done that wasn't needed but they will recommend other auto shops to you if they see a problem.getting my truck serviced was quick but efficient I went on a weekday before 930am and the price was GREAT!!.I will definately be returning. read more

What? There are no other amazing reviews of this place? Well let me say I'm proud to be the first. These guys are no frills and no bullshit.. John is the guy you need to talk to, He is The MAN! Similar set up to Jiffy Screwed but when they print out the receipt at the end that says they check you tire pressure, top offs etc.. THEY ACTUALLY DID those things. I had a great time just shooting the shit with John while my car got the lube and like he said and is TRUE they don't try to sell you on services you DON'T need. They will bring things to your attention if your car is in need of something, but even then no pressure at all! I went in thinking I needed an air filter change.. after the IDIOTS at Jiffy Lube told me I did... Another nice gentlemen told me that my air filter could last for another oil change or maybe even 2! My transmission fluid was almost black as well as a case of dirty anti freeze. They bring out a sample of clean fluid and show you what is in your car so you can actually see that they aren't just trying to squeeze your hard earned dollars out of you. Ive had an electrical problem that makes one of my headlights go out for months now, and they told me that I had a headlight out. When I told them I've probably replaced it 6 times due to the electrical issue, rather than try to sell me on yet another new bulb, John dug into his Rolodex of recommendations and found me a specialist in auto electrical. He also gave me a coupon that give me 5 bucks off the next oil change within 500 miles! They went above and beyond with the service and totally kept their integrity. I will NEVER take my Camma Jamma ( Camry) anywhere else! So go n love it up! read more

I agree with the other reviewers: Tech Lube is top notch. You can miss it at the blink of an eye, which makes it a hidden gem of sorts. Prices are great, work is done right the first time, and there's no BS. All of the guys are really nice and it's funny to watch them interact with one another while you're getting what you need done. I wouldn't go anywhere else to get my oil changed. I went in today to get my oil changed and I was told I needed a new serpentine belt. He told me that they did them there but didn't pressure me into getting it done. He just advised me that I needed to get it replaced. When I asked him how much it would be, he told me $60-$70. It ended up being $59.99 and it took 25 minutes to get replaced. Because I wasn't pressured, they got my business. Another thing I really love about the place is that you actually sit in your car while everything is done unless they need you to get out. With this, your car isn't being held in another room where only God knows what is being done to it. Everything is done right in front of you and it's done quickly and efficiently. I've been coming to this place for about a year and a half based on the awesome yelp reviews, and it does live up to the hype! The guys here are so thorough, friendly, and fast. They fill the windshield wiper fluid and check all other fluids, give you a printed report of all that they've done and checked, and offer to vacuum. I never took them up on the vacuuming until the last trip over there and they were so thorough that it got a little embarrassing to see how filthy my floormats were. Like most places I guess, they give you a little windshield sticker that tells you how many miles til your next recommended oil change, and you get $5 off if you go in before you hit that mileage. For someone like me who drives relatively little, it's great since even if it takes me 6 months to go 3000 miles I still get the $5 off. A++! read more

The person who did my oil change was rolling his eyes and irritated when I pulled in. The girl in the office came and gave me a price and I asked why it was so expensive because I usually pay way less and she told me I'm welcome to go somewhere else. The person working on my car didn't know how to do my oil change or reset my oil level so another worker came and got into my drivers seat to reset it. He began to speak to me with a horrible attitude and then he got out of the car and said I was all set and have a good day. When I pulled off I realized that he didn't reset my computer for my oil change and now I can't see my engine oil level so I don't know if they did the $127 dollar job correctly. I miss the workers that used to work for tech lube they always had good energy and positive attitude in any weather and conditions. I tipped $20 even when they made me feel like an inconvenience. I don't know these new people or what happened to the company but I will not be coming back to this location. Horrible customer service and poor skills. Rude. If you don't enjoy your job then don't work there! You knew what you signed up for! read more

I'm so applauded of the way I was treated today. I've been going to this location for years. I arrived about 7 minutes before closing and was invited in by one of the tech workers. Immediately, I believe the manager came over and tried to talk me out of the service. He told that the oil that my car takes is more expensive. Mind you - this is not my first oil change. I agree to still get the service. He then started complaining about how he doesn't get paid for staying after 6pm. I should have been there 15 minutes before closing. I asked him about customer service. He replied that I couldn't care less about customers. I asked him how would the upper management think of his comments and he said you can call and complain, I don't care. Wow!!! Everyone starts out with a five stars because how can you go wrong with an oil change? I subtract one star because I requested they stop setting my maintenance light to go on at only 3000 miles, when my manual clearly stated 7500 miles, but they said 'no' . They, of all people, should know new cars nowaday NO longer need the 3000 mile oil change schedule. I subtract another star because they didn't checked the tire pressure as they were supposed to or said they did. How did I know? I checked it right afterward myself for a long trip, and the tire pressure were all out of whack. read more

The BEST!!! Seriously, I love these guys. I brought my car to them a couple months ago for a regular 3,000 mile service. I chose them because they were close to me and had good reviews on here. And those reviews are well-deserved. The guy who greeted me told me they'd look my car over, tell me what was needed, and be honest. And then he said if I chose to not do what they said, he didn't really care because it was my car. Honestly, I loved that. Straight up, honest, and no bulls**t. And they did my car right. When they told me I needed new air filters, they showed me the nasty, caked-on, brown ones they pulled out of my car. And then they didn't gouge me on price. Love it. So when I needed to have my car checked out prior to my cross-country move, this was the first place I went. Took my car in today (leaving in a couple days), they checked everything (I didn't need an oil change), made sure my fluids and tire pressure were good, told me I might want to have my air conditioner recharged at some point, but didn't pressure me to do it, and then....get this....DIDN'T CHARGE ME! They said there was nothing needed doing, so they didn't charge me one cent! So of course I tipped them, because come on, they're awesome! If you need quick, honest, no-nonsense service, Tech Lube is awesome. My only wish is that I could take these guys with me to my new city. read more

Firstly, I have to write that this review does not reflect the hard work the technicians did with my vehicle. They were efficient, kind, and hard working so it saddens me that I have to write this review because I try to support local businesses. My issue was with the way I was treated and either the dishonestly or disorganization of the management. Firstly, I have a Fiat 500 sport 2012. I understand it is difficult to work on this car and so I put up with the issues that most places have when working on it. When changing my oil I happily buy my own filter and bring it in to be installed if shops don't have it. Usually shops thank me when I do this and normally do not charge me for a full oil change because I am providing a part of what originally is part of the service. So I called Tech Lube in Dorchester and, Ed, their manager, who seems to be getting mentioned a lot in negative Yelp reviews- hmm, and was told to pick up my own filter and that the synthetic oil service would cost me $37.00. I was happy to pay this amount even if they did not provide me with an oil filter. When I got there, I told him that I did as instructed, bought the filter (20$), and confirmed that the service was going to be $37.00. Then, he looked at me and said rudely and mockingly, "$37.00! No way! I don't know where you got that!" I replied with "You told me this was going to be the price for a synthetic oil change on the phone. I just called" Then I proceeded to ask Ed how much each quart of oil costs and how many I would need to which he replied, "You need 4 at 9 dollars a quart," to which I replied "That's $36.00." Seemingly offended that I knew math, he then replied "Yeah but the complete service is $79.00." Then he walked away rudely as if I were being an irate customer, which I really wasn't. I was calm and collected and he was walking around huffing under his breathe. So in all, from Techlube in Dorchester, my entire oil change costed me $99.00 plus 30 minutes out of my day to buy an oil filter. I have gotten my work done at Jiffy Lube, Valvoline, and the other big names and the service has always costed me $65.00 max including the oil filter. Again, I feel bad because I know this review reflects poorly on the work done and the technicians but something needs to be done about the customer service at Tech Lube and the management. I ended up paying the entire amount ($98.00)- the most I have ever paid for an oil change in my entire life- at the end of the service. I let Ed know that I had no problem paying but that he was conducting bad business and that I would not recommend the shop to anyone or go there again. I hope the extra 35$ was worth it. I needed an oil change, and I had been previously scetched out by Sullivan tire in Quincy. So today I frantically scoured reviews prior to calling Tech Lube. So I drove to my old stomping ground in Dorchester. The guy asked me if this was my first time, and he gave a really good impression of the place. He told that they are not there to rip people off, and explained the services in detail. I then stood by and watched the young kid perform my oil change. This kid went above and beyond the call of duty. he even scraped down my battery posts. He was more then thorough. When I left, they told me that the next time dropped by, that I would get a $5.00 discount. The guys at Tech Lube were really stand up. It was refreshing. read more

I use to live in Dorchester and use Tech Lube all the time but it's been about 2 years since I've used them. Went there recently because they're quick and I don't have to get out of the car, but wasn't impressed. The guy working on my car was under my hood saying my transmission fluid stinks and the same dirty air filter is in the car. It's been about 2 years since I was there last and I change the filter once a year so it's been changed twice since I was last there. The transmission's torque converter went at 40k miles and the engine and tranny were pulled so my fluid has about 30k on it, don't know why it would stink. Anyway they change the oil and the guy handling the money just reached out for the money doesn't tell me the price. So I ask before I pay and he says "about $30". I don't like "about $30" bucks if you see I have $10 in my hand is it about $10 The oil is changed and the up sale starts, they recommend I change my air filter for 17.99. I say no I'll do it myself. I always do it myself a house brand auto store air filter only runs me 6 to 8 bucks and it as easy as opening a box, pulling out the old, popping in the new, and closing the box. Well the guy under the hood has attitude and says "is he going to change his transmission fluid himself too". I could change it but I won't and I'm not going to let Tech Lube and the guy with attitude change it for 109.99. I got in and out in about 10 to 15 mins which was cool but his attitude wasn't and made check the work. When I got home I crawled under the car and made sure I got a new filter; which I did. I also decided it would be at least another 2 years if I ever use Tech Lube again. Not saying there was a problem with the oil change but I didn't like the attitude. I get the up sale at quick lube places all the time $20 or $30 oil changes won't keep them in business. It's the fluid exchanges and stuff that are part of the up sale that does, and I understand that but drop the attitude quick lube places are a dime a dozen. Oh and for anyone who says how does he know his fluid didn't need to be changed in addition to what I stated above about the tranny a month before I had my coolant flushed and intermidate shaft replaced at the dealer and believe me if the tranny fluid or filters were dirty they would have recommend changing them. read more

This was my first time to Tech Lube for an oil change and I was charged $5 for the removal of the Skid Plate. This had never happened before and I did my research and found out that they had ripped me off. The people who did my the oil change were very nice. It was more expensive than my regular oil change at the dealer. However, they were not honest with the removal of the skid plate. That speaks volumne on the way they do business. Recently my business partner had his engine blow due to NO OIL. Funny, last time he got his oil changed it was at Tech Lube in Abington. . . . .he had driven the car under the recommended mileage but the engine was bone dry (no oil) anyway - after having the vehicle towed and checked, there were no mechanical faults that would have caused the lack of oil. No leaks, no malfunctions that were detected . .BUT, just to let you all know, Tech Lube takes no responsibility because it's not their fault so they say. It's everyone else's fault, you know, the vehicle manufacturer, faulty signal lights, etc., etc., Soooooo. . . . If you have your oil changed at this store. . .be aware that you should check the oil immediately after to make sure they put enough. . .They say they have "safe guards" in place because their errors of the past taught them (they admit they have done this before) . . JUST saying. . .be careful when you do business with this company unless you have $6,000 hanging around you don't need cuz you will need it for your new engine! read more
