TLDR; Tech CU used to be awesome. Now, they will make your bank card stop working for the slightest thing, and then you won't be able to use it until the next day. I've had Tech CU for over a decade, and they've been a great credit union for all that time. Now however, they've eliminated half their offices, and basically outsourced everything; the remaining "offices" are basically just ATM kiosks with a person handy. And forget about getting a car/home/whatever loan from someone you trust at your bank: they don't do loans (or anything except basic transactions) in their offices, and everything else you have to talk to a person over the phone (probably in India). But what made me decide to leave Tech CU was the travesty they call fraud detection. If you do *anything* with your bank card except buy the exact same stuff you bought yesterday, they will cut your card off. Try to get cashback multiple times, go on a vacation (or even just drive an hour from home), etc. ... all that is fraud to Tech CU, and they will disable your bank card for it But it gets worse: when you try to get your card re-instated, you don't just have a number to call and fix it. Instead there's a labyrinthine maze of voice menus (because it's a 3rd party), you have to wait on hold for like 15 minutes ... ... and it gets worse! Even after you navigated the voice menus, talk to a human being, and give them all of your identifying info (SSN, birth date, all of that) they still can't re-enable your card!!! I was literally told that because I withdrew money at the Walmart checkout three times (it had a $100 limit, and I needed $400 cash to buy a chair; I got a discount with cash), I couldn't use my card for the rest of the night (this was at 4pm). Supposedly the 3rd party fraud people couldn't reinstate my card ... even though that's their entire job! I had to wait until the next day to call Tech CU to fix it. And this was like the tenth time this has happened (although it was the first where it took a day, instead of an hour, to get my card working again). So basically, use Tech CU if you never go anywhere (drive 40 miles from home and that alone will flag your card), never try to get cash out ... basically never use your card at all except for the most basic things ... or Tech CU will literally make your bank card not work, and leave you stranded and moneyless for a day. EDIT: Someone from Tech CU got back to me, and explained that the part about my card being told that my card was disabled for a day was an anomaly: supposedly they didn't train their 3rd party fraud people well enough. Everything else I wrote about their horrific 3rd party fraud department remains true though. While you (probably) won't have your card disabled for a day, it will be disabled for no good reason anytime you do anything unusual whatsoever, and then you'll have to spend half an hour navigating voice menus and waiting on hold ... or wait over an hour for some sort of automated service to call you back ... before you can actually spend your money. P.S. Although I probably won't be banking with them by then, if Tech CU ever announces a new 3rd party fraud provider or fraud policy, I will increase the stars of this review (no new fraud provider could possibly be as bad as the old one). read more

We love this bank! The DeAnza location is the one we go to and you feel like you are family here. The staff know our entire family by name. They always ask about my twins and when I do bring my twins in they are so good to them. Recently we noticed a withdraw on our account we didn't make.
