Terrible experience. I visited to make a deposit. I literally JUST WANT TO GIVE THEM MY MONEY. It used to be you spent 5 minutes filling out forms, then you go to the teller, who needs 5 more minutes of filling out forms and ID and a SECOND signature - because, why not? The world does not have enough bureaucracy !! The deposit slip was now a strange 8x11 piece of paper but I filled it out with most of the information - as always. But when I visited a person at a desk they said, "Go back and scan the barcode and follow the instructions!" So I start down the boondoggle process and find that there is some sort of insanity with regards to an "electronic authentication protocol" and I have to scan a barcode, go to a website, and upload a credit card, TO MAKE A DEPOSIT ?? ARE YOU KIDDING ME ?? YOU NEED MY CREDIT CARD TO ACCEPT MY MONEY? It aint gonna happen. I am through with this horrible bank. I accidentally posteded this to the wrong branch (Milpitas) so they asked YELP to DELETE MY REVIEW when I posted it to the correct branch (Mountain View). James was the only person at this branch that was able to help me out. I was frustrated by calling an 1-877 number that was listed on the back of the card and also on the website. No one was able to help me out. He listened, he took down my information and he said that he would call me back in a bit. Not more than 15 minutes later, I received a call back from James who provided me with great news. Again, the only person who could help me after being on several phone calls, on hold and many transfers, etc. He is the hero of this branch! James you deserve a promotion brother. Don't often come into this branch as it's a little further from where I live. But since I was in the area, I decided to take care of a few things, was assisted by the young lady Maria. She greeted me and took care of my needs, and since I was already there, I had asked her if she could help me with my online banking as I've been having issues with logging in. She was able to help me get access within a few minutes. She also spoke to me about a promotional credit card, something that I might consider doing. Overall, my experience was quick and pleasant. Very difficult to get a hold of as there is no direct line. I have been trying to close a line of credit for nearly a month now and have been ghosted by the representative who had been helping me. Great service from the start. I walked in with a problem, a new area resident from Oregon. My old credit union has no locations in the bay and was not a part of any shared branch program. Great location close to my home, easy to find parking right in front, beautiful building with such a warm and well designed interior....from the lovely painted walls to the elegant brand new furnishings, this place feels welcoming. They replaced the perfectly functioning bill pay system with a new bill pay system. The new system is severely flawed and now I don't receive bills from the bank or the billers. Impeccable customer service from the Meriwest team! Gilbert and Beatriz both helped secure the financing and payoff of my loan. It was a seamless experience and they are VERY responsive! They went above and beyond to respond to my emails, calls, and texts during business hours but more importantly, after hours to ensure I know that they're on top of it. "A fresh, improved digital banking experience is ready for you!". That is: you will be unable to access your account online because of a failure to implement proper 2FA; you will spend an hour a day for a week trying to fix this by sitting on hold listening to inane messages about how you could save time by using online banking; you will visit a branch before work only to find that the hours have ben reduced (now 10-4 for maximum inconvenience for anyone who actually works); you will take the morning off work to visit the branch again and be assured that the problem can only been fixed by, get this, using someone else's phone for the 2FA (yes, really), only to return home to discover that even this workaround has not been implemented. "We've Built a Better Digital Banking Experience". But I'll just have to take their word for it, because I no longer have access to online banking with Meriwest. Time to switch back to a real bank. read more
