A tough guy, so with tears streaming down his face as he carved our turkey. That night, he slept with pain killers, but only sporadically. I paged Dr. Redfern on Friday morning and when he called me back, and I told him what was going on, he said, "My office is closed today, it will be a $300 charge to open the office, plus x-rays and the treatment. I suggest you take him to the emergency room, and they will give him pain killers." "I explained that he had been taking them, and was in need of treatment, not more drugs." Basically, this man had the ability to help someone, during his scheduled on call day, and was not willing. He literally told me that he should just eat pain killers until Monday. I have no idea what kind of dentist he is, but as a human, he's unkind, unsympathetic, and selfish.

I had always been happy with Kristi's work and wonderful attitude so I was a bit apprehensive about trying out a new doctor. All I can say is WOW! Dr. Morgan helped me feel right at home and I instantly felt at ease. I am not sure if Morgan and Kristi hang out outside of work but they even have similar laughs which probably helps (ha!). During my visit, Dr. Morgan found some additional cavities that Dr. Doberenz missed. Her team was able to work with my hectic schedule and fit me in very quickly. All of the apprehension that I was feeling before had melted away by the time I left. I feel 100% comfortable with Dr. Morgan--she is a wonderful doctor and does excellent work. The dental hygienist that worked with me was also new but she was super sweet as well. I double checked my teeth after my cleaning and was really happy! Bonus. Lastly (and very importantly), Dr. Morgan's billing team did a great job of explaining my costs and recommended that I wait until the new year to perform a few of my fillings. This saved me a ton of money as my coverage had run out for the year (she showed me on the monitor that the cavities could, indeed, wait that long). This is the kind of due diligence that I love to see at a dentist--it really provides peace of mind. Thanks for rocking my socks and being awesome Dr. Morgan! I was happy to find Dr. Doberenz through a friend's recommendation. As far as dentist appointments go, I found my visit with Dr. Doberenz to be pleasant and efficient. I showed up early for my appointment and I was seen right away. Dr. Doberenz was very sweet and attentive. She found a small cavity from my X-Rays that my previous dentist had missed. Nelly, the dental hygienist, was very thorough. When I went back for my cavity filling, I again did not have to wait at all and I was in and out in 30 minutes. The office is clean and simple and the staff is friendly and knowledgable. My previous dentist's office had separate rooms for each exam so I found it odd that all the exam chairs here are out in the open in one big exam room so you feel as though your appointment is being broadcasted throughout the office. Even though dental information may be less private for some people, I still found it uncomfortable to be eavesdropping on everyone's exams. Overall, I found my experience to be positive and I will be coming back for my regular check ups.

If your teeth really, I mean REALLY, need work then he'll recommend it; otherwise, he's never looking to make a few extra bucks off you. The office is only open Wednesday and Friday afternoons, as well as Saturday mornings and appointments are required. After the x-rays and exam they only cleaned the one side of my mouth informing me that I would have to come back to get the other side cleaned because my teeth were so dirty they needed to spend extra time. Keep in mind they used up my teeth cleaning time with x-rays and the exam. Even though I payed for those extra services they didn't give me any more time. They also informed me I had two small cavities which for $450 they could fix and also clean the rest of my mouth at that time. Anyhow, fast forward 8 months and I just went to a different dentist for a cleaning , exam and x-rays. To my big surprise I had NO cavities and they said my teeth are very clean not needing that much attention. So it seems as though Dr. Robert Hays office knows how to make a quick buck if you ask me.

I took the pain like a champ and didn't say anything until she says, " OK, now we just need to make an appointment to take out your wisdom teeth". I knew they didn't do oral surgery there, and nicely told her that I was actually interested in going to an oral surgeon for the procedure. Talk about unprofessional! I'm 28 years old and this lady started yelling at me like I was her 10 year old son. Basically calling me a sissy for not wanting to get it done there. She completely belittled me. Then, I told her how bad and uncomfortable the cleaning was, and she yelled at me, "Well maybe if you flossed, your gums wouldn't be so sensitive!" I had not liked going to Porteous before, but never switched because I had been going there for years. I was completely shocked at how unprofessional and unpleasant that last experience was, I have not been to a dentist since. I still have all four wisdom teeth and they give me no problems at all! I would drive 50 miles in traffic on a hot day with no a/c to go to any other dentist. Have been to 2 others in Vallejo and they all suck. Go to Benicia or Fairfield! FTP!
