After the 2nd F word I told him that is enough, well he used it again against me the 3rd time & I started stepping forward, Upon that the Big Bully went in his shop & shut the door. Absolutely under NO circumstances should you let these guys touch your car. This guy ruined my car. My dashboard has no working lights, no locking doors, nothing. He claims to know someone that can fix it. Drove over there and guy told me 2 weeks out. Wtf. I just dropped it off at the dealer and they are looking into it. It all points to an ignition problem and could be thousands to fix. I am definitely getting it done and taking these people to court. Please guys please DO NOT use this place. Renting a uhaul was a new experience for my husband and I. So when we called to inquire about whether our truck was indeed going to be there at this location since we got no confirmation the guy was completely unhelpful and arrogant. Yes, I admit we called around 4:45-5:00 not realizing they close at 4:30. Instead of telling us in a kind way they were closed and reassuring us that our truck would be there, he proceeded to tell us he "already turned off the computer, and I'm not going to turn it back on for you so I dont know what to tell you ma'am". How about," sorry ma'am we closed at 430, however I ensure you that your truck will be available tomorrow for pick up. The negative reviews on yelp are an accurate reflection of the customer service. Today I had a similar experience. Ted's called me on 04/15/21 at 9:11 a. I was not available. I returned the phone call at 11:30 am on 04/15. The owner asked what time I would arrive for a reservation on 04/17. I indicated that my pick-up time would hold as per my reservation at 11:45 a. He stated he would prefer that I come earlier. I stated ok, 11:30 a. I thought things were settled. On 04/17I received three phone calls in succession 8:57 a, 8:57 a, and 8:58a. TMI, I was in the shower getting ready. I called back at 9:22 a. The owner stated your reservation has been cancelled because we have been trying to get ahold of you for three days. He told me I needed to be at his store before 10:30 or he would give away my trailer. I did not want to get into a dispute over the phone as I needed the trailer. When I arrived and had the trailer secured I went back into the store to discuss the issue with him to express my dissatisfaction with his customer service. The owner stated that he was out on Thursday picking up vehicles so "the call center in Arizona must have picked up the call". Holding up my Iphone using the call log, I pointed out that contrary to what you said at 9:22 a I have received only one phone call prior to this morning. Came to have car alarm fixed. Tedd provided quick professional service. He quickly wires up the new car alarm and programmed the remote starter system within 20 minutes. Tedd was very nice and entertaining to talk to, took care of all my needs and showed me how he was fixing the car alarm. Waited in the nice waiting room after checking out his cool car that he is working on. Highly recommended, Tedd absolutely knows what he is doing and provides fast professional service. Awful customer service. Last night I had rented a truck online, one for today and one for tomorrow. Earlier that day my daughter had to go to the hospital so as you can imagine my mind was everywhere. On my mistake. I rented the saturday truck for today instead of tomorrow. I called first thing in the morning asking if I can correct the date. He said No, there are no trucks for tomorrow and you will be charged 50.00 because I could have rented this out. I completely understood this was my mistake but the customer service part was horrible. I called uhaul and they told me that 100 percent I should NOT have been charged the 50.00. This is by far the worst place to do business. Tedd is rude and unhelpful. I attempted to rent a Uhaul truck and it wasn't available....with no apology. He then "found" a non Uhaul truck that was half the size I needed and acted like I was a complete nuisance. The truck had bad brakes, no suspension, zero gas, broken locks and bald tires. I was desperate so I took it. After two close accidents and truck dying in my driveway, I returned it. After several msgs I finally caught him on the phone, twice. This guy is a complete jagoff. Stay away from him at all costs. He should not even be in business. Uhaul needs to pull their trucks and get them as far away from him as possible. Tried to tell me I had no reservation when I had a confirmation number. The res was done through another uhaul location. When I got there to get the truck the guy walked by us several times and made us wait while he shot the sh*t with with a employee. I'm thinking "is this guy for real"? When he finally decided to talk to us, I told him I'm here to pick up a truck and I have a reservation. He asked my name. When I told him my name he said "no you don't". Not realizing what he meant, he then said your reservation was canceled because you left the wrong phone number. I said "no i didn't". The other location must have made a mistake and gave you the wrong number. Why would I give a credit card number to reserve a truck then leave the wrong phone number?? I then explained to him that the location where I made the reservation knows me personally and knows my phone number. He said he called them and talked to the owner and they did not have my number. Then argued with me about who the owner was. I know the owner of the other location personally but this guy insisted he is not the owner and said some woman owned the place. I purchased a 2" receiver from this hack and scheduled the installation of the receiver with the wiring harness. It was scheduled for a 3 hour installation. The owner called me after 1.5 hours and said come pick it up because it was finished...then I was immediately I was then told that I need to come back 3 days later because they didn't have the correct wire harness. I asked him to get the correct harness and finish the install that day because I was not available on another day because going on vacation. He finished the install that day. I went on vacation and rented a boat with a trailer. Guess what folks...the lights didn't work!! Shocker!! So I called the owner to complain. He didn't seem to care that they screwed my fishing vacation. He actually defended his installer and said they installed it to manufacturers specs. They didn't even wire the right side turn signal !!! The lack of concern and professionalism from the loud mouth owner was off the chart. Don't do business with Tedd's Custom Installations. There is another Uhaul location 5 min away in Mokena. Great customer service there!! read more

For the love of god do not go to this place. This guy is a complete dick. He was belittling a guy that works for him right in front of me and other customers. I brought my car in to get a service done and he unhooked my automatic start. Then next day when I realized what he did I called him and he said come in on Monday at 10am. I went there at 945am that Monday and he had no idea who I was and why I was there. I told him what he did and if he can fix it. He said you sure you know how to turn your automatic start on. I said I've had the car for 10 years I think I know how to operate it. Then he says I gotta take it back to the place where I got it installed. I told him it was a factory automatic start and it came with the car. He grabbed my remote starter fob and said lemme try it cause I don't think you know what you're doing. After 2 failed attempts at trying to start it he tells me I gotta go to the dealership cause its their fault. I ask him how is it their fault when it worked when I brought it in to you and when I got it back it didn't work. He said it's not his problem and to take it up with the dealer. He then told me to leave and never step foot in his business again. I don't know how this guy is still in business. I will be calling the town of new Lenox on this guy. I would give no stars if I could! We rented a uhaul from here but we were in a predicament because our house had sold/closed on Monday and the closing for our new house wasn't until Friday. So we need the truck for a week just to hold our stuff not even driving far because our new house was 3 miles from the old one. My husband talked with Ted & he said that would be fine he even gave us 3 days free because we had to rent it early or else the day we needed it they were closed. He told us $145 plus the miles which were 18 miles/$0.40 a mile. No problem. Then throughout the week he keeps calling my husbands dad & uncle wondering where his truck is?? So my husband calls him asking him what's up we rented the truck till Friday and gets a really weird response that he needs to have the owner call you back. Then Ted calls back & says oh we're fine everything's good?? So we return the truck Friday night everything is done. Then I check the credit card & there is an additional charge of $297! My husbands calls again and he gives some BS about the computers being down & I'll have to call you back. No call back. So he calls again & Ted explains that we rented it for 6 days at $40/day plus the miles we drove it. My husband argues with him that we only drove it 18 miles most of the time it was sitting there holding our stuff & we agreed on $145 for six days. He was told he'll have to call him back because he had customers or some other line of BS. Luckily we have a receipt that states we were only being charged $145. I have (attempted) to use them twice and have had absolutely AWFUL experiences. The first time I used them to move, the truck wouldn't start at 10:00 at night and no one would come and help us. All Ted did was scream and yell at us on the phone while we were sitting in his trash truck that wouldn't run (we got blamed for that also). He also accused us of taking the truck to Mexico when we went from New Lenox to New Lenox every time, lmao. He then proceeded to charge our credit card $300 extra dollars for some other made-up reason. Now just yesterday, my mom called to tell them we can't pick the truck up until 3:00 and Ted said we can't have it for 24 hours on a weekend (??? what kind of service is that anyway?) and cancelled it because we "failed to respond", even though we answered the ONE time he called and we also left several messages with no response. Do NOT go here unless you want the worst, most unpleasant experience of your life. Go to DeRe and use their Penske trucks. It's worth the extra $20. read more

If youre referred to by intoxalock to have breathalyzer installed in your car, to this mini business or just want work done, I'd suggest dont do it!!!! go elsewhere. If you do decide to use this place of service, make sure you have full coverage and have photos of your vehicle before it goes in and after they are done working on it, inspect your car very close,..they're VERY ,VERY careless while working on vehicles. Guided my car into another car in his shop. Damage on car when addressed the owner said they dont touch the outside of the cars????? I was there when my car hit another car and said something about it , he yelled at his employee , stating we cant have cars touching in here.. mind you tedd was waving to keep coming after the car had stopped moving and was hitting a white Cadillac that was parked there, Very defensively, Horrible service. This has been the worst business EVER. I received an automatic start for my car for CHRISTMAS. It is now July, and Tedd is still making excuses and has not put it in... He has lied numerous times making me wait all day for him to get back to me. He is suppose to open at 8 but is never there. I would not recommend him to anyone. Ted misquoted me and overcharged me by over $50. He even admitted to me he did not understand the overcharge. When I contacted uhaul they said Ted told them he quoted me correctly and would not refund the charges but would however refund the insurance fee since he charged me did not ask me if I wanted the insurance. So if he did that why is it so far fetched that he misquoted me. Needless to say my credit card company is now investigating the situation. What makes matteers worse is on the quote contract he filled nothing out and corporate still backed him. read more
