It's my friends birthday and we checked reservations. It said there was plenty of available slots all night so we decided to see if we could just walk in. They said no, so I said that's perfectly fine there's a reservation in 15 minutes I'll just take that slot. She said "I LITERALLY SAID THERES NO AVAILABLE SEATS". She was so rude I hung up and made the reservation for 15 mins out. Sure enough we walk in at our reservation time and there was plenty of open seats..... even if they were for reservations why did she yell at me and say I can't make one. So whoever answered the phone at 9pm you were so unprofessional and that's coming from somebody that's a current bartender and have been a host before. What a find! This place truly is a hidden gem. And by hidden I mean the door is in back of the building by the parking lot and dumpsters and is not labeled with the business name but simply Bakery. I was pretty confused and when entering the very small room the lady inside just asked if she could help us letting that secrecy hang for as long as possible. We were finally ushered behind some curtains into a very cozy bar. The two bartenders were great. They were very knowledgeable about the drinks and passionate about their jobs. The drinks were all very good and the cheese plate was a nice option as well. I definitely would return to this spot. read more

My husband and I have been trying different tiki and speakeasy style cocktail bars for the craft cocktails and immersive atmosphere. This one is a gem. Making a reservation was easy using the Open Table app. After gaining access through a door marked Bakery, the entryway is tucked behind a bookcase that blends into the wall. On this very rainy evening, I appreciated the threshold between outer reality and speakeasy pretend. Teddy Roe's does it up floor to ceiling swanky. The cocktail menu is no joke. And the bartender mixed our drinks with love. If you're not able to enjoy complexity, like smokiness, botanicals, fruitiness, and bitters, or can't distinguish between spirit foreword, finish, or lingering flavors, skip the cocktails and maybe treat yourself to a beer. Or a different bar with more neon and some tv sets. We won the bonus with Tuesday night comedy. I'd go the full five stars if we could keep Teddy Roe's in regular date-night rotation, but the spendy final tab makes this a perfect place for an occasion instead of a place to come out of the rain on an ordinary weeknight. read more

I was invited to a birthday party. OMG what a funky set up. Just like an old fashion speakeasy. They have a long list of signature cocktails that are out of this world. The Old Fashion was delicious. They do serve some food. They use M'tucci's to prepare for them. Teddy Roe's is located behind M'tucci's on Central. On the west side and down the alley. You do need a reservation. Easy to obtain online. However, read carefully. You need to choose the bar seat, a booth, a seat by the fire or library or the private chamagne room. Reservation is 2 hours or negotiate by extending another reservation. Staff is terrific! Went back for my birthday last week with 3 friends who hadn't experienced the ambiance. Had one the best Sazerac's with herbsaint I ever tasted!!! One of our party didn't care for her choice and they made her another drink at no additional charge. The staff wants you happy. Can hardly wait to go back again. They do have music on some evenings. Haven't figured out gmhow to access that venue yet. It is a tiny place but worth a visit. Teddy Roe's is a hole in the wall, local secret and you have to know how to find it. The staff is extremely nice and down to earth. It's a lush, retro, classy, small, intimate spot in Nob Hill Albuquerque. You need to make reservations ahead of time to get a spot. I recommend being on time. I ordered two cocktails and both were delicious! The cocktail menu is all encompassing so I asked the bartender's suggestion for my first drink. I usually like mojitos and he suggested the southside. It was so delicious and fresh, I really enjoyed the flavors and commonality to a mojito. For my second drink I got the with and the bees. It was very herbaceous and fresh. It tastes exactly like the ingredients and nothing overpowers anything else. Both cocktails were very well balanced, delicious, and beautiful. Good job Teddy Roe's! Second time at Teddy Roe's and it did not disappoint, once again. I was transported, and honestly forgot I was in Albuquerque. We booked the Champagne Room for our friend's birthday on a busy Friday night it honestly was worth it based on the noise level of the rest of the speakeasy. The room was closed off just to us, and we had control of the music on a record player. They have a button on the wall to call the staff over, and overall the staff is quick and very knowledgeable, especially when answering questions about any of the drinks. Note: the champagne room does have an up charge when booking, but you do get a half bottle of champagne. I honestly think it was worth it and would book it again. The drinks were excellent, I tried a different assortment of rum drinks and was not disappointed. My first experience at Teddy Roe's was nothing less than stellar... as in 5-star! The service, ambiance, cocktails, and overall experience were something I'll never forget. It's unbelievably exciting to be a part of this prohibition revival in the 2020s a whole century later. The ultimate highlight was learning about the Teddy Roe origin story (a must for anyone that visits! Peep the framed portrait by the bar or ask one of your bartenders). I've been to just about every bar in Albuquerque at this point and I was too excited to hear of a new speakeasy arrival in ABQ. Teddy Roe's is an establishment that gives the 505 that ritzy, big-city feel without having to go far. Immediately upon entering, you're treated like a regular... which in the bar world is family. You'll enter through the back door in the alley behind Bar Roma where you'll need to knock. The host will check your party in (reservation only via Resy). I opted for bar seating because I wanted to get to know the staff and really have the full experience. Noemi took care of my guest and I for the evening and her expertise and craftsmanship was next to none! I also was greeted by the brains behind the operation, Jessica O'Brien, a renowned bartender in the Albuquerque industry. She was such a gem and loved that she took the time to share how her concept came to be. These ladies absolutely made the entire experience! I can't wait to come back again and again. We've been waiting for this place to open up for quite some time since seeing it on Instagram and we were finally able to get a reservation. It is amazing and was totally worth the wait! It's reservation only until the end of the night, so make sure you plan ahead! It is a speakeasy style bar, secluded just off central, with so many amazing drinks and a small selection of food. I mention it's a speakeasy style because it's a little harder to find. We can on a Tuesday night and it was honestly pretty busy. There were quite a few people at the bar and others at the column seating. We reserved a booth for 3, which could've sat double the amount of people, and it was still cozy and comfortable. The drinks were amazing and the server was absolutely delightful. She has such a great personality and she even offered to show us their champagne room, which we plan on booking in the future! We split the steak frites between the three of us and it was the perfect amount of food and probably the best meal of steak frites I've had in Albuquerque. We were greeted from a very nice bartender who insisted we tried the drinks on the menu and was very knowledgeable and personable, he was great! We ordered drinks and one of our guests didn't like it, so we asked if she could try something else. We were met with a huge snotty attitude by the female bartender who is apparently also part owner??? She had tattoos, big glasses, and big hoop earrings. We also had someone with a food allergy (which we notified the restaurant about before), and when she was simply asking questions about what she can eat we were met with even more attitude by our female server. She had no knowledge about the menu or ingredients and was very rude and not accommodating at all, in which our guest decided not to get anything to eat because our server was making her so uncomfortable. We were celebrating my 21st birthday and my dad had asked if they had any dessert or cake that we could get, which she replied "we don't do birthdays here". We will not be coming back to this establishment thanks to this female server, and she made my birthday dinner terrible because she was so rude. Attempted to check this place out for the first time tonight. Knocked on the door, no one was anywhere to be seen through the window. There was a door next to the main door that was unlocked so we entered there. The bartender immediately told us to leave that we had came through the wrong door and to knock on the other door. Again we knocked on that door and looked through the window an there was no one there, we waited 10 minutes thinking the bar tender who kicked us out would let someone know we were trying to come in. If they hadn't called I would have thought I had dropped it somewhere, but I know they have it! I had to cancel the card.
