My beautiful Leo - my 2012 BMW was violated over the weekend by some inconsiderate driver, and they left a DEEP dent on my passenger side door. It's a dent that Helen Keller won't be able to miss (and it's especially noticeable on a black car)!!! Came across California Dent Works on Yelp and thought I check out what the hype was all about... Cook's Collision referred me to Ca. Dent Works. I was hesitant - the indent was in my hood, right at a place where the metal was sculpted but the dent man did a GORGEOUS job. Even polished up the scratched emblem! 5th star is missing only because when he fixed up a little bend on the edge of the door (damn wind blew my door into a pole) he had to manipulate the metal in a way that the paint has changed a bit and now has a really bizarre reflection in it that I notice every time I walk up to the car. This may just be an unavoidable part of the process though. In hindsight, I would have skipped the door issue and just stuck with the hood. Awesome job on that!! read more

I live in San Francisco, but work in Pleasanton. A piece of debris from someone's under carriage flew at me on the freeway and caused a minor scratch/dent on my hood. I requested a quote online and within hours, Ted (owner) had already responded with a quote. He was able to work on my car 2 days from the incident and it looked brand new when he was done. This place is great! I called them when a bicyclist ran into the back of my car, creating a dent about the size of a grapefruit. The car is 12 years old but still looks good, thus I wanted to fix the dent, but didn't want to spend the $1,000 most body shops estimated it'd cost for them to do it. I called other places like Dent Pro who either didn't want to or couldn't do the job. Ted charged me $350 to come to my house and completely remove the dent onsite. The service he advertises is paintless dent removal, so a couple of minor scratches remain, but he polished out what he could and seriously, there is no dent at all anymore. I'll save $650 and live with a couple minor scratches any day. read more

Cook's Auto Body recommended Ted of California Dent Works for a repair to a medium-small dent on the driver's door. Ted made the appointment for the next day, so I was very happy with the quick response. Unfortunately, he arrived at my house much later than scheduled. An hour or so after he was scheduled to arrive, he called to let me know he would be late. He finally arrived about three hours late. I was available all day, so I really didn't care, especially since he let me know what was going on. He didn't mind me watching and chatting with him while he worked, so it was a great way to see his technique. And indeed, that's really all the process is - technique. There's nothing magical, just lots of experience and patience at work, using very basic tools. Part of the dent encroached upon the molded crease in the door, making it even trickier to get back to normal shape. But Ted didn't flinch and took care of it. He also buffed out the remaining scuff marks. The result was as if the dent had never occurred. Ted was at my house for at least two, and perhaps three hours, so he certainly took his time to get it right. The price was very fair for the amount of time he spent, especially considering how expensive it is to run a small business. It wasn't a steal, but compared to a full-blown body shop, it was very economical. In addition, their website gives approximate prices to expect, and Ted quotes a specific price prior to beginning. So before he starts, if you think he's too expensive (meaning you're definitely a cheapskate), then just tell Ted to get lost. Otherwise, sit back and watch him perform, well, not magic, but some damn good work! Lesson learned: Stay away from the San Leandro Walmart parking lot! read more

He fixed my door ding very fast and clean. He respond very quickly and was able to set a time for me to come to his shop on the same day of contact him to look over and fixed right away. I couldn't be happier! This was a new experience for me. I would head straight to the auto body shop no matter what. Well, not this time. My brand new (couple of months old) was rear ended near oakland airport because the kid behind me wasn't paying attention. Good news: barely moving. We decided that we would leave insurance out of it because we both had high deductubles etc. Anyway, after going to 5 body shops and learning that I would need a whole new bumper for 1200.00 I thought I would check out dent removal. I mean it really wasn't that bad. Long story short. $410.00 later I have my car back and you would never know anyone ever hit me. Why do body shops charge so much? Because they can. I had a 2004 Porsche Carrera that was starting to show it's age. It had dents and dings and scratches on the doors, fenders, bumper, and even the spoiler! Gosh Ding it! Anyway, my wife saw Ted's truck at her workplace and grabbed a card. Ted did a phenomenal job with removing the dent in the rear driver side door of my wife's X5. The dent was caused by me accidentally bumping into my motorcycle, which tipped over and left a sadly noticeable sized dent on the rear door. I spoke to Ted and texted him pictures of the damage. Wow! I am totally blown away by the fantastic job Ted did on repairing my BMW. Here's the story. I bought a brand new BMW a month ago. I stupidly scraped and dented the drivers side trying to back into a narrow space. My car had a large dent on the door panel just below the handle, two smaller dents below that and some really nasty scratches. I took it to a body shop and they said it couldn't be fixed by a painless dent repair shop and gave me a quote for repair with an estimate of 7 days and they would need to paint the whole left side. I wasn't happy with that idea so I found Ted on Yelp. I read the reviews and saw that he was an ex BMW repair tech. I took my car to Ted and was impressed with his knowledge and confidence. He said he could get out all the dents and most of the scratches. I left my car on Monday afternoon and picked it up the next day. It looks FANTASTIC! All the dents are gone and the remaining tiny scratches can barely be seen. I can not recommend Ted enough. He is a true craftsman and he restored my beautiful car without having to mess with the factory paint. That is huge! His price was good.
