And then there would be Det collectors and you know how mean those guys can be. What to get: Polish! Polish! Polish! I'm not talking about your mani, but your dog! No not that dog, I mean the hot dog you order here! What else: Footlong dog, and I'm not talking about your man, you wish. Anything else: Yes. (shakes like a piece of chocolate). What was that? It's a chocolate shake! The service isn't always great but that can be said about every Ted's. It just depends which one of the 74 teenagers working at the place, that you get serving you. It's quint-essential Buffalo. Not that it's essential to have quints in Buffalo. Twins or triplets will do. Too expensive. But you must visit Ted's at least once to see what you think. Personally we just have cats, but we practice making babies constantly. They're a wonderful place. Their sausages are phenomenal, especially the Polish, the Footlong is great too. You absolutely must try the Polish, it shoots hot juice into my mouth even more expertly than any man I've ever met. It's just so damn delicious. Give it a try and see what I mean. They don't take phone orders (they should). Their Italian sausage is excellent, their burgers are nice, their footlongs and regular dogs are better, and their Polish is the piece-de-resistance, whatever that means. Perhaps you can use it to resist the fascists of new America, they're sadly on Yelp too. I can name them. For a small fee. It's good. Very good. And their chocolate milkshakes (with malt added) are muy excelente, if a little smallente. But also not as expensive as some shakes in the area and every bit as tasty. Ted's always disappoints me price wise. It looks cheap but next thing you know it's more than $10 for more than a snack. But it's excellent so I put up with it. Not a satisfying meal, but a wonderful snack. Which is why Akon did that song "Snack That" which was about Ted's. The Loganberry is also awesome, by the way. I went on Ted's website to place an order. It said one of my items was not available but didn't indicate which. I called and they said the website is being weird due to the number of orders going through. But they said its pretty quite at the actual location. I was hesitant. When I arrived they have a three lane ordering and pickup system going on. It was super fast and easy. You place your order and pull ahead and wait for you food to be brought to your window. This locations bathroom isn't handicap accessible. I went there the one day and went to use the restroom and my walker wouldn't fit through the door. They told me the only way to expand the bathroom would be knock out a booth and a small wall. So they have no plans to make it accessible for wheelchairs or walkers. My friend's dad and my friend suggested Ted's for dinner tonight, which was perfect. I haven't been to Ted's in over 10 years!!! (My ex used to make hot dogs often and all of the races I run in that have hot dogs were canceled this year.) You must wear a mask when you're inside the restaurant, unless you're seated at your table, or in the restroom. They have signs up about Covid and social distancing. They also have signs on certain tables asking the customer not to sit at that table. The menu is pretty much the same as years ago, when I was last here. I ordered a hot dog, onion rings, and a loganberry. The food was still great. They now have dipping sauces, which I'd like to try, when I come here again. I've seen in other reviews that they also have a "split" order where it's half onion rings and half french fries. I'll definitely get that next time!!! Ted's is a WNY institution. When I was a kid growing up in Orchard Park it was the go to fast food option in town. I'm not really a fan of their burgers. Too thin and too dry. I don't know why I've never reviewed Ted's because I love pretty much everything here. There isn't anything better than a charcoal grill for a hot dog or hamburger. Their chicken sandwiches are out of this world as well. This place is usually packed from 12-3. They keep the line moving and orders accurate despite the traffic. You order at the back of the line, customize your order before you check out, and grab your drinks and sauces at the end. Great system that gets you in and out with fresh and hot food. I have to add an additional kudos during this time of social distancing. My fiancé and I ran out rather early this morning to grab things we were out of at Wegmans. We didn't realize it was only 10:30am once we were hungry and ready for lunch. Called Ted's, and a wonderfully kind woman picked up the phone and took our order regardless. She said she would put it in right when they opened (for now at 11:00) and have it ready to go at 11:10 am. I felt so bad for calling before opening. If you're driving up to see the Eternal Flame in NYS, see if you can stop in for a quick bite. This place did not disappoint. We came in around 2:30 PM and thought the lunch crowd would have dissipated by then, but to our surprise, there was a HUGE. It moved fairly quickly though. It have a very efficient assembly line going. The everything is char broiled and quite tasty. I had been looking for a Michigan hot dog, but found this place instead and although did not have Michigans, everything was good. The yelp rating did disappoint. This is not the Ted's I grew up with! The onion rings sat for 10 minutes and were cold because of the new way they take orders. The hot dogs and hamburger all had excessive condiments despite being ordered light. The dining room tables were mostly dirty so if you had more than 2 people in your party you had to clean your own table. The manager was chatting with the grill line cook about the schedule instead of assisting. The cashier playfully swiped the back of another's head (hair) with a to-go box she then placed on the counter. No matter when I go to Ted'a I always leave full and happy. The place was super busy but the staff was friendly and on point when it came to taking care of everyone. I started out with two charred dogs with everything on them. The skin on the dogs were crisp and juicy and the combination of sauces was awesome. I always love the fact they put a full pickle on the dogs too. We also got a bbq chicken sandwich that was delicious but a tip would be to order extra bbq sauce. We finished the meal with a order of large fries and tried out their horseradish dipping sauce which was out of this world! Finishing it up I polished it all off with a large Logan berry to sum up a fantastic meal. For some classic burgers and dogs with combinations galore I would always recommend this spot! read more
