I have been to this location several times and had no issues until today I asked a few questions because the prices didn't make any sense and I get rude attitude from the cashier and then when I pointed out she got my order wrong she went back to the Cook and started talking crap about us all I heard from the cook was "those two over there" and "it's fun to start the day off like that" and when I said something "no we're not talking about you" but we're the only couple in the restaurant so I guess you can't go in here and ask questions about their pricing and their menu without getting an attitude in return and their prices make no sense $8 for half an orderof pancakes and $9 for a full order and $13 for an entire breakfast go figure like I said I've been here several times before and had no problem but I'll never go back here again i would rate it 0 stars but it wount let me read more

First time here, very pleasant staff and really only can compare to Louis. I had the Zorba omelette which was very good and I'd say cheaper than Louis however think they use 2 cut up hot dogs in theirs. I'd say sauce is good but lacks bit of kick. Zorba's bright and vibrant yellow sign "Zorba's Texas Hots" always caught my attention. I imagined a sunny day somewhere in Greece with wine, good food and wonderful times. The only part which didn't match the picture was the word 'Texas'. Later, I learned that the Texas Hots of Buffalo were invented by Greek immigrant brothers who linked the style to "Coney Island Sausages" in the 1920s. Why 'Texas'? I couldn't find any clear explanation. So, no Mediterranean cuisine. It's mostly breakfasts, burgers and sandwiches that you'll find on Zorba's menu. Of course, their specialty is The Zorba's Texas Hots. Their sauce is a mixture of ground beef and spices simmered for seven hours to perfection:). They say the secret recipe hasn't changed for over four decades and was passed from father to son who took over the business. If you like Texas Hots in general, this is the place to give it a try. I'm not sure if it's good or not, but my partner gave thumbs up after eating the whole plate of Texas Prairie Platter. A huge pile of fries covered with cut dogs, mustard, cheese and sauce -- it looked like something from a Tums commercial. Fortunately, there wasn't any need for the antacid as far as I know. My dog topped with mustard, onion and relish wasn't my favorite, but the fries were perfect. I would go back in an instant, if I felt like having perfectly done fries. Plus, the portion was very generous for not even three bucks. All menu items are served anytime. I would like to try some sandwiches or whatever next time I'm busy and hungry. We only experienced good service. It's not a fancy place and they have Chef Mike for helping, but the food is inexpensive and I don't mind. One thing they should pay more attention to is cleanliness. So when Ted's has a huge line going out the door and you've got a craving for a hot dog you need to find another place! I continued my drive down Transit Rd and spotted Zorba's. My normal order for a dog would be with mustard and a pickle and a side of fries or onion rings. Today I went with the onion rings. The onion rings were good, nice and crispy and not overly breaded. I thought the hot dog was ok. I prefer it grilled a bit more. They were generous with the pickles but I'd prefer it with a pickle spear laying along the side of the dog. All personal preference. Maybe if I had ordered the hot sauce which I now know is what makes it a Texas hot, I would have liked it more. Wasn't bad, just nothing to rave about. Overall I guess I prefer Ted's hotdogs though I will give Zorba's another shot, possibly to try their breakfast which I heard is really good. My friend hadn't been to Zorba's Texas Hots in awhile. I said I'd meet up with her, since I had never been there before. We both got there around 12:30pm today. It was quite busy. You have to order at the front counter. They only accept cash, which is why I took off one star. It was highly disappointing. (My friend paid for my order and I Venmo'd her.) I didn't know of any cash only places--besides Taffy's--until today. The drink cups were kind of small for what I needed to slosh down my food. I wasn't sure if I could go up for more pop, without being charged more. My friend ordered their deal, which was two Texas Hots, fries, and a pop. I think it was $10.95. I lived in Texas for 10 years and have never heard of a "Texas Hot" so when I moved to WNY and saw places all over the place selling them I thought what the heck is that! Stopped here for a quick bite on the way home. We're from Syracuse, which is a completely different territory of hotdog-centric pride. We kept seeing Texas Hots places as we drove around Buffalo, so we looked into it. "Texas Style" hotdogs, originated in New Jersey and influenced by Greek cuisine, now popular in Western New York as Texas Hots? I don't know man, I'm not a historian. We got some chili dogs, here's our experience. The place feels like any home town place you've ever been. Small, cozy, filled with people you can immediately tell spend a lot of time there. They don't accept cards, so I had to run back to my car and scavenge for cash. Thankfully I didn't need to find much. We ordered two of the Zorba Texas Hots, a large fry and a drink. The Zorba sauce is the same sauce they put on the hotdog. The chili itself was aggressively underwhelming, like somehow the taste of the tomato paste dominated whatever else was in there. It was an acute sense of mildness, comparable to plain lentils. If I got them again, I'd make sure to get a lot of mustard. The little mustard we did have seemed to add a ton of life to the sauce. If I lived near this place, I'd still probably hit the place up on the regular, just out of price alone. 1.90 for a power dog is a steal. read more

The disadvantage of being named Zorba's is that you are right at the back of the phone book. Then again - maybe that's the point? Ignore this statement, it means nothing. But then again, perhaps it means everything. They could have called it All Night Zorbas and been under A. Except they're no longer open all night most of the week. They could have called it Aardvarks... or AAA Towing Service Cafe maybe but that would be false advertising as they are not affiliated with AAA. What to get: a Texas hot, a Chocolate Malt. What else is good: Burgers, maybe Omelettes covered in Meat sauce. I don't really like eating the omelettes here to be honest. I was starving recently so I did (as you can see from the pix). It's satisfying for the first 5 or 7 or 9 bites, but then it just feels weird. Smothering them in sauce makes them much better, but I guess it just doesn't work that well for me. It tastes good, but it just doesn't sit right. The hot dogs, on the other hand... and the excellent malts... are amazing. I recommend coming here just to try a hot with everything. It used to be open 24 hours, but is now limited (10.30 or so, some nights, and much earlier on Sunday), has tiny little booths and is quintessential American fast food. They used to have a sign around the side that read, in this format: PARKING FOR ZORBA'S TEXAS HOT CUSTOMERS ONLY And my sexy friend and I decided that one day, we would cover up the top part of the sign, so it read "HOT CUSTOMERS ONLY." Indeed, we always parked in that spot. And there are some real hotties working here and often visiting here (though often teenyboppers) so it kind of makes sense that they would have such a parking spot. They also have an excellent milkshake as I mentioned, which is thick and particularly rich, like my boyfriend, and I highly recommend getting it malted for a unique experience and lots of little malt bits in your shake. Their hot dogs are the star attraction though. The burgers are excellent too (always order your burgers and dogs with everything - it's that simple - the meat sauce makes them as good as they are). The Garbage Plates are not my favourite although I think they're called hot plates, or something. They were invented in Rochester but Zorba's were among the first to introduce them to Buffalo and they did a great job at it. Fried Bologna is an extremely Buffalonian thing, and I recommend giving that a try too. The service is usually friendly, and there is one tall, tanned blonde cashier in particular who is absolutely stunning and is worth the price of admission alone. I wonder if she knows how much I adore her :) I wonder if he cares. I hope her boyfriend isn't reading this. I hope her boyfriend isn't the big chef with the shaved head and tattoos. In general, though, the sandwiches here are pretty basic and fall short of the Hot Dog excellence. Buffalo Hot Dogs are something special. There's Ted's of course, and it's very good, but there are so many others, which are even more "Buffalonian", Louie's is the most famous one, but better versions are the luscious Zorba's, the dreamy Abbott, the heavenly Hot Dog Heaven, the Rochester import Bill Gray's and more... Ted's aside, which is a char-grilled different story, this is what Buffalo dogs are: they are snappy, delicious hot dogs, slathered in onions and an almost-bitter, almost-Chilli like meat sauce which, if done properly, is warm, filling, comforting, and absolutely sinfully delicious. It's the same sort of "meat sauce" that you might find slathered over a Rochester Garbage Plate. If you get a chance to try one of these, do not pass it up, because it's just that good. Just make sure you eat it hot. Did I mention that really good looking people tend to eat at Zorba's? Not that this says anything about the quality of the food. I mean, every time I am unfortunate enough to have to go to Starbucks, there are usually some ridiculously hot girls in there too. I might even go as far to say that really good looking people often don't have very good taste, and tend to gravitate more towards chains and brand names. But then I'd be getting into generalizations, and unlike ALL other British people I would NEVER make one of those. And, like Sean Connery, I would also NEVER say NEVER. So 5 for the dogs and shakes. 4.5 for burgers. 3 or 4 for sandwiches and omelettes. I forgot to mention this might also be a good place to go after a workout. All you have to do is switch the A and the B in Zorba's and it becomes Zorab's, which sounds very much like Sore-Abs, which definitely sounds like a place you would go after a work out. For Hot Dogs. 2 Cheeseburgers up, an order of onion rings and a Coke... My Zorba's order since I was in my 20's. (that's longer ago than I care to think about) For me, eating at Zorba's comes at a price. I'm not talking money. Hell, I wish I were. I have that awesome acid reflux thing so eating a good spicy meal causes shall we say some discomfort. With that being said, Zorba's is worth the price. It has some rather unique dishes that I think were devised for either being hang over cures or Cheektowaga and Depew area taste buds such as the chopped hot dogs with fries and cheese all mixed together. Since they didn't offer a lowering cholesterol Lipitor cocktail with it, I didn't eat much of it but have to admit it was tasty enough. What I have admit is that they do have a decent Texas style hot dog sauce, and since I'm rating the place for what it is, being merely a sobering up cheap hot dog dive, it does come in as Four Stars in that category. read more

Possibly the best food I have ever had in the history of food. The few negative reviews that are on here are laughable. "NO FREE REFILLS" yea well you probably don't need them. "What's Texas about them" or whatever was said, also reviewed Buffalo Wings as "Not pieces of real Buffalo" and only gave it one star. Zorba's has been mathematically proved to out science all other food. The Prairie Platter was not designed to cure a hangover but it actually does, along with gingivitis and male pattern baldness. The toast was also good. The home fries were bland and not crispy at all. In fact, a couple pieces were raw. I had to add salt and pepper and that wasn't enough. I would've liked some oregano in there and some crispyness to them. Well and for all pieces to be fully cooked through.
