Notice how many reviews are years ago? We were communicating with Ted to do an inspection on our new motorhome. Our communications seem to be going well at first. Because we purchased a 2023 that had been on the lot for a year there were things the dealer needed to take care of. We discussed with Ted about him being on-site before the repairs or during the repair process. It made sense finally to have him do it two days after the repairs were done. When we decided on a date, he said he needed $65 upfront to come to us. That wasn't a problem, and we paid it via venmo. Then he said he needed the full amount up front for the inspection. I was a little concerned about that. I told him I felt more comfortable with half up front and half when the job was completed and he said this is how everyone does it and look at my reviews. I was still willing to pay him up front, but wanted to talk to him on the phone and then he canceled. Something just does not seem right. Our motor home is our home and it was purchased at great expense. I don't think it's unreasonable to want to have a conversation with the person whose going to be spending a whole day in my home. I feel his behavior was bordering on aggressive and definitely curt. I'm glad he canceled. It would have been a mistake to hire him. Let me start by saying, Ted is a very nice guy. It's too bad we could not recommend him for this type of service. I've thought long and hard about this because as a small business owner, I understand the importance of referrals and reviews. That said, there are some undeniable facts about our interaction with this service that just are what they are. What's below is our experience/perspective. We hired Ted to do an inspection on our RV. We are first time buyers, we're buying it new and really wanted to have an unbiased evaluation of this product before we took delivery of it. We then hired Ted to do some RV repair/maintenance work. Everything we asked Ted to install, we could have done ourselves. It would have taken us longer, but we could have gotten it done. We were trying to 'tag team' these few items since we were working during the day, had little daylight after work and had little time to get out of our AIRBNB and into our rig to take off on our full time RV journey. Here is what worked (and why we gave 2 stars) + Ted showed up on time and was good with communication (text, email, phone) + Ted's inspection (external and internal) of our RV was very thorough in that he captured lots of details about our rig with photos and a rating. Great for resale of your RV to have this type of record. + Ted's service is mobile + We asked Ted to install some D-rings in our under storage. - these were installed well and are useful + We asked Ted to install a screen door pull bar on our front door - this was installed well and is useful + We asked Ted to install our Max Air Fan covers. So far they look to be ok - they are on the roof and we have not been able to validate the installation was done properly. + Ted rescheduled our inspection date when the dealer would not allow him access to the rig onsite at the dealership on the day we'd scheduled him to do the inspection onsite at Holland RV. What did not work, and why we cannot recommend this service. The following were not installed correctly, tested to validate they were operational or left the RV or the device damaged: 1) RV Locks (damaged, parts had to be replaced and reinstalled) Snap Pads 2) Dyson rechargeable vacuum (device was damaged and needed to be reinstalled) 3) Furion back up camera. (Device was not paired so needed to be uninstalled and re-installed) In every case, we have to pay for damage to be repaired, to replace parts or have the work redone. Our assessment of this is that there are lots of new gadgets in the RV industry. Ted seems unfamiliar with the latest technology. The problem with this is that these newer RVs are giant rolling computers and full of technology. Because of the damage done to our RV and some of the devices and parts we asked him to install and because of the cost we're needing to incur to re-do, replace or fix - we just cannot recommend this service for inspection or service. For inspection, while his report is comprehensive and thorough, this requires knowledge of the technology. And since Ted prefers to work alone and uninterrupted this might cause a problem if he's operating something incorrectly and you don't find out until its broken or damaged. As i mentioned, Ted is a super nice guy, but we cannot refer his work to anyone given our experience and the associated cost of repairs, replacements and time to redo that we've incurred. ++++ We asked TED to install our RV locks. We had two of them. One for the front door and one for the rear door. Once installed, they were not tested or set up. We went to set them up and neither of them worked. I had to uninstall both of them and call RV locks for service, only to find that a set of parts on both units were completely destroyed in installation, they were determined inoperable and needed to be replaced. The folks at RV locks knew immediately once I showed them the pictures, what happened and how it happened. We are still currently without the back door locks being operational. The RV locks has a 1 page instruction & on their website, a 3 minute video of how to install them. Also, their customer service is 2nd to none. A quick call would have solved any riddle about how to install these. When asked if he tested the locks to ensure they were operational, he said he did not. We asked Ted to install and set up our back up camera. This was installed, and not paired with the panel, so we had to take it down to confirm it could be paired and that it worked. He installed it, but didn't check to see if it worked nor tested it to confirm it was paired. When asked if he tested this to confirm it worked. He said he did not work on the truck? So far, every other remote tech we've worked with, when asked to install something has a) tested it to confirm the installation has worked and b) called the manufacturer to get help to install or watched a quick video. You'll make your own choice, of course, and hopefully this review will help you decide how you might work best with Ted read more

I have an older 5th wheel travel trailer that was having refrigerator issues, Ted came out and performed a two step diagnosis, he made the trip one day to check the basics and make some sensor adjustments, he left a thermometer with me to review progress, he came out a second day to dig a little bit deeper and come up with a solution for me. We found a 5th wheel in the Temecula area that we were interested in buying, and quickly needed a thorough inspection to see if there were any glaring problems with the unit. Ted conducted such a thorough inspection that we decided to print it out, and are having it bound and put with the user manual for the rig. The owners to the ranch property I take care of in Bonsall bought a new Heartland 2021 bh250 Prowler out of state in December. On the way home the insulation rubbed off of one of the wires for the Dometic water heater and caused it to work sporadically. I spliced the wire and the water heater unit worked for about two weeks. I called the dealer and they said they could not find anyone in our area to come out and fix it. I googled repair services and Teds Mobile RV repair came up. I sent a link to his service to the dealer. I spoke with Ted over the phone a few minutes later after the dealer contacted him. He said he was booked most of the day but had a little time between calls to come out. He was at our property within an hour and done in two hours. Ted had to replace the circuit board, igniter, and a couple of relays. He also handled the warranty billing through the dealer. I was off property during this service call. Ted also called me when he was done to explain what he did. These days it is sometimes difficult to find people that are good at what they do and do what they say. My wife and I have a 2021 Grand Design Solitude. After experiencing less than optimal customer service from Holland RV trying to take care of our one year walk through and a Failed AC, we contacted Ted. We were worried how close we were getting to our one year mark and having it covered by GD as it should be. We called Ted on a Friday evening and even though it was 5 pm, he called us back within an hour and offered to come out an inspect the AC the following week. He was very timely and professional. After diagnosing the AC as a non-functioning compressor, he maintained excellent communication with us, and took care of it through Coleman Mach and GD. We have a fifth wheel that a family member is living in. She was having issues with the hot water. We looked up RV Repair and Ted's name popped up. We called him and he went out to look at it. He said we needed a new hot water heater so he ordered it and installed it for us. There were still issues where she didn't have hot water so he went back out and said there was a bad electrical switch and fixed it, free of charge. Things still weren't right with the hot water. We called Ted back and set up a time for him to return. We waited for over an hour after his scheduled time of arrival and he said, "I don't work in the rain". So he didn't show up and didn't let us know ahead of time. He made it back out the 5th wheel the following week and said there was an issue with the hot water heater and we would have to hook it up to propane and let it run for 24 hours before he could contact the manufacturer about the warranty. We used propane for the 24 hours and there was still an issue. Our family member was without hot water completely. Then we asked him when he could get another new hot water heater installed and he said he wasn't able to contact the warranty place and would let us know when they returned his call. During this time of going back and forth, my husband was calling him and he wasn't answering or returning the call but texting instead. We reached out to another mobile RV repair guy, Luis Millan. Luis came out and looked at it and said we didn't even need a new hot water heater and that it was a pressure relief valve issue and that the wiring of the hot water heater that was done by Ted was completely wrong which is why it still wasn't working. Luis did the re-wiring and it's completely fixed at a very fair price. I typically don't take the time to write a review but I also don't want anyone else to lose out on money. read more

Called Ted a hour past quitting time on a Friday. Was heading out the next day and the fridge wasn't working in the RV. Was fully expecting voicemail, but he answered! Since it was after hours he couldn't help me today. HOWEVER, he asked a few questions about the problem and spent a good 15 minutes on the phone with me trying to diagnose the problem. Nothing worked. But by him taking the time and effort to help me out of the blue like that just insured that he will get my business in the future. Ted is a real nice person but I did not find him knowledgeable on a few problems my RV had. I've been working on a recently purchased 2005 Fleetwood Terra. I had already done much of the restorative work and maintenance and I was getting spent. So I decided to call for some help. I needed to replace the awning and the electric steps were not working. I made an appointment with Ted. He came on time. He crawled under the RV to diagnose the step problem. He put juice the the motor and it worked. We bypassed the door sensor, still no good. Ted told me it was probably the control unit. We both agreed to get prices. Amazon was the best, so I ordered it- ($101.00). On to the awning. We took off the front arm and saw that there were remnants of the old awning in the track. Ted and I started to try and get the old awning welting out but it proved difficult and I decided to do it myself and Ted left. I got a good system of getting out the old crap but when I got to the area Ted was working, it was scraped and gouged. Quite a mess. I had to file, sand and then paint that area (I really did not need more work). I got the control unit a day later and installed it-the step did not work! I went back to car/vehicle electronic basics, (something Ted should have known and started with) check ground and power. The ground was good but no power. I finally traced the problem to a .50 cent bad fuse. Replacing it, the steps worked fine. So, in the end it cost me 105.00 for Teds service call (he took off his $35.00 trip charge). It cost $101.00 for the controller-I did not need (not going to pull it out return it and reinstall the old one) almost an hour to "fix" Teds extraction attempt and finally, I got the awning installed by myself (there is a great video on this). read more
