This was one of the first sushi places I found when I moved back to Phoenix in 2017. No matter where I go, I always come here every few months for the comfort, relaxed atmosphere, and reasonably priced dishes. My husband and I were sat right away yesterday morning, we received our drinks quickly, and the server was readily available. The food is served on a conveyer belt with color coded plates. Each place setting has a card displaying the price. Everything is delicious, and we have a stack of plates before realizing we ate so much. Great time as always.

Great little sushi spot we've been coming to for years! Inexpensive and straight forward, we feed our family of 4 for usually less than $30. I'm sure that there's places that are fancier, higher end, etc, but for casual and good this is the spot! It's always been fairly busy so if you're in a larger group plan to wait for a table, and service can be slow during peak hours. But if you get your timing right, you won't be disappointed!

Sadly, this was an average place to visit but that was ruined last week. A coworker injured her finger on a chair that had a loose seat, and the server failed to recognize or assist though she bled on both the table and counter. She offered napkins to clean up the blood (health code violation) and never brought back bandages when I requested as she was clearly injured. We had to go to the emergency room. Very poor handling of an injury that was caused by faulty furniture. I will NEVER go back!

Friendly staff. Decent sushi for the price - most plates I had was $2 per plate. Got there just before noon. Place got busy when we left.

I love it here! Such a fun and festive time every time! The plates are only $3 so you can be as broke or rich as you feel that day. Pretty yummy stuff but definitely needs to be colder. Not sure how they know when to take it off the belt. Love the staff and robots! Lots of room to sit. You can order on menu and take all plates . Sooo fun to send them down the path :)

Came in a little late and the conveyor belt was missing a lot of food . So thank you to the sushi creators of the night. They whipped anything on the list. Yes the sushi was fresh and delicious. Miso soup was a bit on the salty side but not bad. Our server was nice and quick. Place was on the soft side of noise unless you're sitting next to a chatty couple which is fine as long as they didn't wait for a response while stuffing my face lol. Overall not to shabby.

This was such a nice experience for me. Service was smooth and the workers were friendly. I had alot of fun with the conveyor belt thing. It was typical ambience that you would expect pretty comfortable. Chatter over food mostly. The food was good and for cost it was very budget friendly. Showed up with 2 others and roughly spent 45$ on our visit. Im definitely gonna be back especially for the experience. I left feeling very happy.

The service from the females working was minimal and unpleasant. I always get ice tea because it tells me what to expect food wise- if your ice tea tastes horrible then it means you don't pay attention to detail. What bothers me more is when I express it is unpleasant and you get a snotty attitude ~ like hello I didn't make the ice tea why you mad? Your ice tea tasted like it was mixed with dishwater. This was the first time I visited a conveyer belt style sushi but as I watched the same food rotate around it just didn't sit well with me. People sit very close to each other if you're doing the belt and not an individual table but I was never asked if I would prefer a table so I went with the flow. I decided to try potstickers first and they were dry and cold. Since I wasn't sure what everything would cost and the service was less than par I chose to close out my bill and venture off to another sushi place in the area since I had driven 20 minutes to come here. Sushi is a hard one to share opinions due to everyone's different pallet- for me this is a never again place. But don't take my word for it!!!! Go try it, maybe your experience willl be better than mine:)

Food 7.5/10 Service 6/10 Ambiance 5/10 We were sat quickly as a party of 2 + The water was good + Fish prepared properly + The rice used to make most of the sushi seemed slightly over cooked or maybe made this morning- Belt was mostly sides rather than sushi - had to ask for everything including a straw -

One of the coolest things about this place is that when you grab your plate off of the revolving conveyor belt, you can feed your empty plate into a slot in the table. It keeps count of how many plates you've put in, and when you've reached five plates a cartoon comes on the screen. When You reach 15, a prize in the ball falls out for you! We got a second prize after we hit 25 plates. Aside from the conveyor belt that revolves around, there's a little robot that comes to bring you your drinks, which you can order on the screen. There are tables and booths around the conveyor belt, as well as some chairs that simply face it. The sushi is pretty good here - - my favorite is the seared eel. It is so delicious! This place is not fancy but it is set up for fun and is a great place to bring kids who like sushi.

Each plate is clearly labeled and covered, which maintains freshness and adds a layer of reassurance regarding food safety. The sushi itself is consistently well-prepared. The fish is fresh, the rice is properly seasoned, and portion sizes are balanced. In addition to classic nigiri and rolls, there's an impressive selection of specialty items, small plates, and desserts. The touch-screen ordering system is intuitive and efficient, and special orders arrive promptly via the upper conveyor--an added detail that enhances the overall experience. Service is streamlined and attentive without being intrusive. Staff members are available when needed, and table turnover is handled smoothly even during peak hours. Kura successfully combines quality, affordability, and a unique dining format, making it a reliable option for casual outings, group dinners, or introducing someone to sushi in an approachable setting. A well-executed concept that consistently delivers.

As someone who's a bit picky, that meant I had to sit and wait quite a while for the specific items I wanted to come around on the belt which was kind of frustrating. That said, I've figured out the hack: come right when they open for lunch after 11am. It's a completely different experience. You can order exactly what you want, and it comes out almost immediately. Way more enjoyable and efficient. Even during my first visit, I still had fun. The little robot that delivers drinks and wasabi is a cute touch and definitely adds to the experience. The concept itself is great, it just depends on timing. Food-wise, it's a bit hit or miss. I do NOT recommend the spicy tuna or regular tuna. The quality hasn't been great in my experience it tends to have stringy fat and sometimes tastes fishy. On the other hand, the spicy yellowtail hand roll is consistently my favorite. It always looks fresh with a nice color and texture. The app is also a little confusing. When you try to pay, it still redirects you to a QR code and opens a webpage instead of using the app directly, which makes you wonder why you even need the app in the first place. One more tip: double-check your to-go orders. They've forgotten utensils, soy sauce, and wasabi for me before. Overall, the staff are really nice, even though interaction is pretty minimal. If you go at the right time and know what to order, it can be a really fun and satisfying experience.

For what it is, it was a pretty good visit. We really were pleasantly surprised by the quality. The variety was great. Rice was prepared right -- not mushy or stale. The fish was great which was the biggest surprise of the whole meal. The salmon was fresh and buttery. The scallops were plump. Tuna did not taste cheap or old like previous visits. I did try some of their limited time menu items -- their fish taco and the crispy rice hot dog. The cod in the fish taco was way too soft and disintegrated in my mouth, I would like a firmer fish.. the tartar sauce was great though. The crispy rice hot dog was interesting... the sausage was nice a plump -- juicy but the rice did not make sense. The rice was also a little sweet and did not taste right.. ** please bring back the crispy rice salmon and spicy tuna instead of this. We did not enjoy our last 2-3 visits to Kura. Service was always bad, food did not taste good and it was becoming overpriced for what it is. We would happily come back now and spend what we did again if the quality stays the way it is. Service this time around was still not great, even worse than usual actually, but we still enjoyed otherwise. Kura used to allow you to win prizes at 5-7 plates but now it's every 15, 25+ plates which sucks but I get it..
