Lunch for four. We shared the large platter of Meat Me special and an order of salmon. We rated the food at 4 and 1/2 stars. The service was a bit slow, but our server was very friendly. The seating was pretty uncomfortable. We will come back here and try some different dishes, as several items looked very interesting.
Delicious and tender koobideh and chicken kabobs. Also tried an interesting stew with flavors and aroma I never had before. Change up from the Lebanese and kosher restaurants we usually go to. Clean restaurant with friendly staff.
Most delicious Persian food in Sherman Oaks!! Hospitable staff that provide wonderful reccomendations and quick service. One of the best places on Ventura Blvd.
Raisa and Ladan were wonderful, immediately they won me by brining out a bowl of water for my dog. They were attentive and made sure we had everything to enjoy our meal- left no room for requests. We ordered the trout which was really fresh, soltani barg/ koobideh- perfectly juicy and soft. My all time favorite would have to be their eggplant dip.....mmmm!
After seeing all the great reviews, I really thought I found a gem in Sherman Oaks... but the experience was a huge disappointment. The food was mediocre at best, and the service was lackluster. We had to keep asking for the same things, and the restaurant wasn't even crowded. What stood out most was an older bald woman who was walking around chatting warmly with other tables but completely disregarded and ignored us. At first, I just thought it was extremely odd but when I found out she was actually the owner, it was very disheartening especially as patrons. Being in such a small space and not even being acknowledged once gave off clear racist undertones. It felt intentional and left a really bad impression. We came from far, expecting something great, and the whole experience ended up being a waste. Definitely wouldn't recommend.
I am so glad I came here. The food was incredible and I only wish I could've tried more food at once because the whole menu sounds delicious. We had the salmon, combo koobideh, roasted eggplant dip, shirazi salad, saffron tea, and the didar doogh. I loved the smokiness from open-flame grilled salmon, the sweetness of the crisped caramelized onions in the eggplant dip, the tenderness of the kebabs, the tang of the didar dough, the freshness and acidity of the shirazi salad, and the warm, earthy, floral notes of the saffron tea. This is a quiet, clean space that still feels warm and cozy with the pictures hanging on the wall and the friendly service. I can't wait to come back!
Easily now became the valleys best Persian restaurant. As soon as you walk in you are greeted by positive energy and great vibes. The staff was extremely kind and very, very attentive and extremely friendly. The food was the star of the show. Easily THE BEST barg soltani Plate ever it was so tender and marinated so well. Every dish we had today was made with love you can taste it in every bite. The meet me special was such a great value. We loved the tadig stew dish, both of the stews were so amazing and so flavorful. Everything was extremely fresh, cooked and prepared perfectly. Definitely recommend this place!
I've been eating Persian food my whole life, so my standards for kabob and chicken kabob are pretty high. It's honestly hard to find places that hit close to home, but this spot really does. The kabob was juicy, perfectly seasoned, and cooked just right, and the chicken kabob was flavorful, tender, and clearly marinated the way it's supposed to be. The rice was fluffy and aromatic, and everything on the plate tasted authentic and thoughtfully prepared. On top of the food, the staff was incredibly kind and welcoming, which made the experience even better. The ambiance is warm, comfortable, and genuinely enjoyable--one of those places you can sit, relax, and really enjoy your meal. It's rare to find a Persian restaurant that nails both the food and the overall experience, but this one absolutely does. I'll definitely be coming back.
We got seated rather quickly we went during the week for dinner. We had the Gheimeh Stew accompanied by rice, two beef Koobideh and one chicken Koobideh accompanied by rice, and Ghormeh Sabzi Stew. Everything tasted great and we would definitely order all the next time we come. There were two large parties and space for other smaller groups, they fit a lot of people although it is a small space, there was nice music playing and the staff was friendly. We can't wait to go back, thank you for a delicious meal.
Drive out here to support a woman owned business but disappointing experience. Not sure why it took 25 minutes to get my chicken when I was the only one there for half the time. Chicken was overcooked. Flavors were underwhelming. Service was lackluster.
Didar Restaurant What a hidden gem. Didar truly gives you the authentic Persian feeling of Iran -- warm, comforting, and filled with love. The food tastes like it's made at home, the way Persian food is meant to be, and the incredible music just completes the experience. We ordered the half-and-half tahdig, which was perfectly crunchy and packed with flavor. We also had the chicken kabob and an extra skewer of beef koobideh -- both were unbelievably juicy and melted in your mouth. The house-made doogh was refreshing and delicious. We ended our meal with Persian ice cream and tea, and honestly, the ice cream was one of the best I've ever had. The portions are generous and absolutely worth the price. On top of that, the customer service and hospitality are truly unmatched. Our waitress, Ladan, was amazing -- so sweet, polite, and attentive. She even came by to say goodbye to each table as she was leaving, which was such a thoughtful touch. Riaz was also incredibly kind and helpful. We will definitely be coming back and bringing the whole family. Highly recommend!

The owner personally greeted us at the door and came to our table to guide us through the menu, which immediately made us feel welcomed and cared for. The service throughout our visit was warm, attentive, and genuinely hospitable. The food was truly outstanding. The kebabs here are unlike anything I've had before, authentic Persian flavors with a homemade touch that makes every bite feel comforting and real. You can instantly tell how incredibly fresh the ingredients are, especially the meat. The steak kebab was unbelievably tender! so soft it practically melted in my mouth. No exaggeration, you barely even need to chew. It was easily one of the most delicious kebabs I've ever had. Everything tasted freshly prepared, perfectly seasoned, and full of rich, authentic flavor. You can really sense the care and quality behind each dish. The restaurant itself is spotless, beautifully maintained, and has a calm, inviting ambiance that makes you want to sit and enjoy your meal. This was our first visit, and we were blown away. I honestly can't say enough about how delicious the food was and how wonderful the overall experience felt. Will I come back? Absolutely 100% YES. This place is a gem, and I can't wait to return.
This is the new best Persian restaurant in town. Tried this place tonight with my family and everything was a taste of home. I am Persian and consume Persian food regularly but this restaurant takes the cake in the SF valley. The abgousht was incredible, gormeh sabzi on tadig was so satisfying. And the chicken/beef koobideh was so juicy and well seasoned. And dessert, baklava, was a great ending to an incredible meal. The chef came out and greeted us and she was sweet telling us she makes all of this herself. 10/10 you must come here!
Oh my God this is the first time I tried Didar kitchen's, and as you know I am a connoisseur in Persian food, since also my very favorite cuisine, but truly the quality and the taste of the beef koubideh and the chicken kebabs was out of this world‼ If I could give seven stars, I would! I highly recommend that you tried this Sherman Oaks restaurant ASAP‼ Also Didar Kitchen rice with lentils was the bomb! My friend and I stopped by this place today around 12:30 noon to have lunch. No special reason. We hadn't seen each other in a long time and our meetup was way overdue! After going to our original place that we were supposed to meet up and that place being closed, we decided to try Didar Kitchen.. Got a pleasant welcome from Mahour with a nice smile and were seated right away. The restaurant was somewhat empty, which was good. It gave us more time to catch up on things.. We ordered from their menu Meat Me Special ($55.00), which came with Combination of boneless chicken, beef Koobideh (ground beef) and Filet Mignon Shish Kebob with a full plate of rice and a full plate of salad. It also came with 2 grilled tomatoes. This was a VERY HUGE portion that could have easily fed 4 people. Extremely generous portions for the price. Salad included the following: beets, onions, tomatoes, cucumbers on a bed of fresh lettuce. It also came with 2 standard size dressing which was made with yogurt, mayo, and dill. Very tasty. Everything was above and beyond our expectations. We got a complimentary bread (lavash) an Armenian flat bread that was cut into square pieces with 2 small butters. Didn't get anything to drink. They don't serve alcohol, have a gender neutral restroom, and ample parking lot in the back. She also brought us a complimentary dessert. Ice cream with Pistachio. (bastuni saffron) in Iranian. It was delicious and decadent. Total came out to $60.23 including tax, minus the tip. I highly recommend this restaurant and will definitely stop by again next time I am craving for some kabob or any one of their extensive menu options. Ambiance was nice with some fine Iranian music playing over head. Both restaurant and restroom was very clean. They also have nice decor and black and white photos on the wall. Six stars for quality--the quality of both ingredients and preparation. Upon entering, we were warmly and hospitably welcomed by Sohail. The aroma of fine Persian stews and kabobs reminded me of visiting my aunt's house for one of her lavish Persian parties. Everything we tasted felt homemade. We ordered the tahdig with Khoresh-e Ghormeh Sabzi and Ghaimeh. Both stews were delicious and had a homemade taste. For our main course, we had the "Meat Me Special," a combination of boneless chicken, beef koobideh, and filet mignon shish kabob, served with a full plate of rice and a full plate of salad. The chicken kabob was juicy and flavorful, the beef koobideh was tender and delicious, and the shish kabob was exceptionally high quality--unlike the generic kabobs found at most Persian restaurants. The house doogh was creamy and rich, perfectly complementing our meal. The cardamom tea and bamiyeh that followed our lunch was the perfect ending to our meal. The bamiyeh was fresh, crispy, and perfectly sweet, while the hot tea provided a comforting finish. As always, Saghar, the owner of Taste of Tehran and Didar, was present, greeting us with the warmth and generosity of a host welcoming guests into her home. Full of light and joy, she truly completed our experience. Unlike most Persian restaurants, where the portions are large but the quality is average, Didar offers smaller portions. Personally, I prefer quality over quantity, and that is exactly what one should expect when dining at Didar. read more

Excellent food on this first visit. Perfectly cooked filet and lamb kebabs. Specialty rice and salads worth saving room for, as well as the eggplant dip and the pistachio ice cream to finish. Server was so friendly and helpful. read more
The food was so amazing. Our favorite was the chicken and beef kababs. The seasoning was perfect. The combo came with a side salad and rice. The chicken aloo was very unique. Flavor was really good but a bit sweet for my taste. Service was great, it was a very intimate restaurant and all the staff were really friendly. read more

Authentic. Aromatic. Beautifully presented and seasoned. Worth every penny considering what it takes to develop these rich flavors. We had the abgoosht special... wow... so comforting and tasty. Everybody was raving about their dishes. We recommend the eggplant appetizer, salad shirazi, mast-o-mousir, and the koobideh. The lamb kabob is also excellent. read more
