Had dinner here for the first time last night. Tela is a super modern chic restaurant/bar trying for an upscale feel. I'll start with the service. Our waiter was fantastic! Very attentive and willing to find answers to questions like year of a vintage of wine I wanted. He was awesome. I was so excited to order an Oregon Pinot Noir and it was fantastic! Reminded me of home and was a beautiful vintage. Unfortunately, Tela fell short when it came to food. I wanted so bad to love them but the food was seriously mediocre at best. I had the Royale (pictured) and it was really just average. Cooked perfectly rare as requested but absolutely no seasoning at all and pretty boring. The house made pickles were ok and the fries were were just ok. I felt pretty let down after all the hype. Was it ok? Yes but was it worth it, sadly not really. My partner had the Rueben and was very let down. The kimchi on the sandwich was very boring, the meat was average and overall just not a great experience. Would I try Tela again? Probably because it really is a cool spot but you gotta step it up with flavor. read more

Weekend, out for dinner before going to listen to Linus Tate (acoustic) at a small wine and beer place. Tela Bar & Kitchen was on the way so decided to check it out. Initially told a 10 minute wait, but seated in only 4 or 5 minutes. Pretty busy, a bit close seating to other tables, but not to the point of being uncomfortable or listening in on the neighbors. Waitress was quick on the spot, water and menus dropped off. Very pleasant. Took our drink orders and moved on. Gave us enough time to look over the menu and decide what we wanted. Got the order placed and chatted for a bit. Again, a bit noisy, but a concrete floor doesn't help. Food came out quick and as ordered. I got the Multibeast. They ask if you want "pink or no pink" I went no pink. Next time I'll do pink. Flavor was quite good, but no pink must mean "slightly over done". My mistake. Still enjoyed it, so, just a FYI. My wife got the Sundried Tomato Bucatini. I didn't taste it as it had mushrooms, which, well, never mind...! But she said it was a 5 out of 5. So, she knows what she likes, who am I to argue! Waitress did check in on us a couple of times to make sure everything was good. Going back, sure! And probably invite a few friends. read more

I legit don't know where to start. More importantly why haven't I heard of this place before? This place is off the charts good. Went with a decent group of 7 and we all had something different to make sure we tried to cover the bases. I don't have the time to write up a review and don't get paid for this so here it is.... Big Boy Burger is off the wall. Father in law said it's the same as the other joint who has it (you know who) but 1000 times better. Royals with cheese is amazing. This is what I had and damn good, highly recommend. Killer flavor profile and cooked to perfection Brussels App- if you hate Brussel Sprouts, I bet your ass will eat these Chicken wings, we got three kinds, garlic parm, spicy, and chimichurri. I think they change their menu fairly frequently so I have no idea what Brain child thinks this shit up over there because it's all amazing and this person should win a Nobel Peace prize. I really want to love Tela. We live in Wyoming and the spot is less than a mile from home. Unfortunately, I don't think love is in the air. 4 of us arrived at the restaurant about 7 last night. The place was less than half full, so seating not a problem. I do like the ambiance and feel. My son immediately ordered wings, which were not available. So we ordered drinks. Once drinks arrived (about 15 min later) we placed our meal order. My wife's budha bowl was the star meal of the night. A huge piece of salmon with fresh veggies and quinoa. My reuben was good, but a bit sparse. Seems like they used the last two slices of bread in the loaf, making it a bit on the puny side. French fries were tired and wilty. My son and his girlfriend ordered the charcuterie board. We were quite surprised at how little meat was on the board. Plenty of cheese, fruit, olives and pickles, but to steal a line from the late, great Clara Peller (look her up, kids) Where's the beef? Forty bucks! No thanks. Service was just fair. All in all, what should be a great local haunt wasn't bad but was disappointing. read more

On a Friday night at 6:30, we walked in and were seated without a wait which was unexpected and appreciated. We sat near the open, garage door which gave us the comforter the A/C and the view of outside. It was the best of both worlds as one of my friends prefers patio dining (but it was just too darned hot for the rest of us). The decor is modern and somewhat industrial chic. No carpet and loads of metal makes the space very loud when full. In fact, I couldn't hear my friends during most of the meal. Our server was attentive at first, but became more and more distracted as the meal progressed. She offered two of us glasses with our beers but not the third guest. She moved dishes to clear the table and then left them sitting. After we finished, she brought us incorrect bills and had to re-ring them. Not sure what happened, but overall the service was very inconsistent especially for the price point. Two of us got the Impossible Burger with fries and the third gal went with the summer vegetables and quinoa. I've had the Impossible Burger with fries many times here in Louisville (offered at a lower price point), so I expected to be wowed. They over-cooked the patty and served it on a very bready bun which overwhelmed the burger. The high points were the house-made ketchup and the pickles. The fries would've been good had they been hot. I couldn't find our server to ask for fresh ones and, in the end, I was too hungry to wait. Based on the many food choices, limited menu for vegetarians and the service, not sure I'd venture back when in the area. read more

Tela was our Friday night take out spot for the last 2 years. Lately, the food is inconsistent and just doesn't seem to be of the same quality. I've never complained until recently when they put the mussel sauce in the actual cardboard takeout box with juices leaking everywhere. I realize COVID has changed things but I still expect consistency and appropriately packaged take out food. I told to the owner, he offered to refund but wasn't exactly delightful about it. Yea.... I really enjoy this little spot in the heart of Wyoming. Tela has a fusion of latin, asian, and american food that can sate a wide range of appetites. This is a place where you could take a date or you can take your mom. On my most recent visit I enjoyed the apple and fennel salad, veggie burger, and the triple mousse cake. All of these proved to be quality choices. I really enjoyed the fries that came with the veggie burger. They are currently making good use of their drive thru window and patio. My only complaint is that the booth seats seemed very close together- almost like I could join those sitting next to me for their dinner. We've been to Tela several times & the food has always been superb. This is a casual joint, but with very high-end, high quality, chef made food. The best thing I've had there has been the short rib mac & cheese as well as the shrimp grits. But the burgers are excellent, the appetizers are excellent, the cocktails are excellent & the desserts are excellent. Everything from the service to the execution of the menu is done with excellence. The ambience is nice, too. Terrific place for a date, or in summer when they open the windows, for people watching. I first saw this article in Cincinnati Refined that detailed which restaurants carry the Impossible Burger locally, and it highlighted Tēla in particular. We'd been to this restaurant once before and were happy to return again. The Impossible Burger is available for $15 on their menu. It comes standard with bibb lettuce, roasted tomato, shaved red onion, house dill pickles, sundried tomato ketchup, and it's served on a Sixteen Bricks cubano bun. We added a slice of cheddar cheese for an additional $0.50. The bun seemed a bit thick, but it was soft, so it didn't completely overwhelm the sandwich. We weren't the biggest fans of the standard toppings the restaurant chose - I think things like the roasted tomato made it lean a little sweet. The burger was slightly more mushy than would have been preferred; it still had a good chew, but we would have preferred a slightly crispier texture. It came with fries at no additional cost, and my husband claimed that these were his ideal fries and had his favorite everything. Meaning they were a good size and had the perfect amount of crispiness, seasoning, and temperature. Very flavorful. Much better than the fries we received at our previous visit. Verdict: $15.00 has gotta rank up there with the most that I've ever paid for a veggie burger, but the Impossible Burger is not your everyday burger. Keep in mind that the standard Veggie Burger on their menu, which features a housemade quinoa burger, sells for $13.00 on its own. At least the price includes fries. (I've been surprised to see how many times fries are no longer included with the burger at various places around town.) Since this burger doesn't come with cheese, it was disappointing to be charged extra for such a basic ingredient. I also appreciate the other items on their menu like the Fried Goat Cheese and the delicious Lemon Cream Cake. read more

Never written a restaurant review before. REALLY wanted to like this place. Food was ok but overpriced for serving size. Service was BAD! Took a friend there visiting from out of town and really wanted to share a nice meal. We joked that the waiter must've been high because he kept forgetting items (drinks/salad). Took forever to get anything and they weren't busy at all. We were very patient, because we weren't in a hurry but he knew he was terrible so he offered to take off one of the items that he forgot from the bill. But when he gave us the bill the item had been charged. So was asked about it, he took bill back, gave it to us again claiming he took it off and he just didn't. Very disappointed and kind of embarrassed that my friend had such a bad experience on her visit. Might try again. A different server might provide a different experience. read more

Great find in Wyoming OH. Nice ambiance here, warm, will be nice in the summer with large garage doors. Started with a apple fennel salad with the house white vinaigrette. Fresh and great combination of greens and just the right amount of dressing. Then went with the diablo mussels. These were incredible. In a red seafood broth with a little bite from the red pepper and perfectly toasted 16 brick bread to soak up the broth. I did have to ask for a spoon so that broth goodness wasn't wasted after the mussels were gone. Was so good. Definitely will be back! read more

Wow! What a fantastic experience! They make the best food and drinks!!! I love eating in Cincinnati because there's so many great restaurants. Tela Bar is up there as one of the must come see's. I had a grilled salad which I didn't even know was possible! The warmth of the lettuce combined with the slight crispiness to it and perfect amount of dressing was like comfort food to my soul. I had the most scrumptious fries with aioli dip was heavenly! And omg, their signature drinks are some of the best I have ever had the pleasure of tasting. Love all of the things i had. I can't wait for my next visit! And the waitress was so awesome. It was a small town experience in the middle of a big city. Nice change of pace from my usual OTR haunts in this hidden gem in Wyoming. Stopped in for dinner with friends and had a great casual meal. The restaurant is very laid back and there is a cute outdoor dining area. The service was pretty good, nothing overtly bad or good. Full bar and a nice cocktail menu. I had the Corrina (their take on a margarita) which was tasty. They had a nice cheese plate selection as a starter and I had the veggie burger as the main course. It wasn't the best in the city, but a hearty blend of rice, bean and corn. The fries were my favorite part of the meal, shoestring and crispy.
