Back again for the Monday happy hour and hamburger special and dying to try that one hamburger that I've been eyeing every visit. I had the Bobby burger with scrapple, (I think there was cheese), and NJ pork roll, lettuce and tomato. In any event, it was a mouthful. I was happy. I did what I wanted to do. I was a little disappointed, however, in that I couldn't get a really good taste of the hamburger. Obviously everyone else in our party of six (four adults, one toddler and one baby) also ordered burgers except the youngest. I had their fabulous French fries with my burger, and I believe most everyone else had salads. It's a great place to go with kids and today's visit was special in as much as we ate on the sunlit patio. We had a nice server who was attentive but managed to mess up one salad order. read more

We grabbed seats at the huge wraparound bar inside since the outdoor bar was packed. They have a great outside area too with cornhole and surfboard-shaped tables. I had the half-and-half sandwich with regular fries -- it could've used a little more filling but was still really good. My fiancée had the chicken sandwich with sweet potato fries (no cinnamon), and the spicy mayo on it was a great touch. Both sandwiches came on nice soft buns. We also split the garlic parm wings, which were crispy, flavorful, and not greasy like a lot of places. The bartenders were very prompt and friendly, the TVs were easy to see from anywhere, and they have a jukebox for music. read more

The best part about this place is the outside patio. The inside bar is often full of creepy men with staring problems. The service is usually hit or miss, not very attentive in general. I've only had the nachos in the menu and they were pretty boring. read more

My husband and I order 4 appetizers. Cheesesteak nachos Pierogis Mini panzarotti Hot and honey wings 2 of the 4 were okay. Mini panzarotti-great Cheesesteak nachos, it was chopped unseasoned steak on top of stale nachos with cheese wiz. Hot and honey wings-sauce flavor great, some wings were small so they were overcooked and dry Pierogis- don't order! They were under cooked and cold. Was hungry walking around in Philly, took the train back to Jersey the fam all ordered beers Guinness & a few miller lights. The inside is your nice sports bar up tempo music, sports tv every where to watch the game. Started off with 20 wings garlic parm & hot honey and mozzarella sticks were really good. Chicken vodka parm, Angelina's special, Nashville hot chicken sandwich. The service was great greeted with nicest smile in all of Jersey, Kira was are server she's the ish. This restaurant/bar has only been opened for less than a month, but it's still light years better than neighboring bars. This is only 3/3.5 stars now as there will be growing pains and I'm sure that when I review again it'll be better. We came on a Tuesday night around 7pm and it was semi busy for seated tables and the bar. We ordered the Cheesesteak Nachos, Boneless Teriyaki Wings (comes with fries), a draft craft beer and two domestic bottle beers. The beers were cold, the nachos weren't bad yet they were lacking on meat and cheese and the rising star was the sauce for the wings. We spent about $65 for two people. To be sitting at the bar it wasn't bad service but some avenues could be worked upon with some in-house trainings. Either way the bartender was helpful with the menu and if he didn't know the answer then he went to check with his bar manager. We stayed for about 3hrs, watched the 76ers play and then watched as the bar got empty around 10pm. I'm happy that this place will be opened until 2AM, they impose a fee if you pay with a credit/debit card and the building is beautiful. I look forward to coming back during warmer months or to try some of the other specials. read more

Three out of the four of us thought are meals were terrible. The person who had the chicken taco gave it a thumbs up. Chicken cheese steaks were funky tasting and very dry. We all ordered sodas and one came out in a smaller glass then the other three, which was odd. Our waitress was very nice and attentive and did refill our beverages. I stopped in for something to eat. I like to try cheesesteaks from different restaurants. The cheesesteaks here have good rolls but lack meat. They have a .50 charge to add mushrooms, onions or bacon. Most places include mushrooms or onions. Service was good. I felt they were understaffed. Music is on the loud side, so if you're going for conversation, think again. Overall, I would go back. Just add more meat to the cheesesteaks. read more

I just moved to the area recently, and one of the first places I checked out was the patio bar at Bobby Ray's. I was lucky enough to have Lexi as my bartender, and she made me feel right at home. She's friendly, welcoming, and has a great energy that makes the atmosphere even better. Not only did she recommend some great drinks, but she also took the time to chat and get to know me a little, which really meant a lot since I'm new around here. The service was fast, the drinks were on point, and the vibe she created made it easy to relax and enjoy myself. If you're ever sitting outside on the patio, definitely hope you get Lexi--she's fantastic at what she does. read more

It's just ok. Been here a few times and it's not the place to go if you're hungry because the food quality is poor at best. If you're sitting at a table the service is ok if you're not in a hurry. The inside does look pretty cool but it's so loud even when it's empty. If you're coming in for a few beers at the bar it's a good spot but outside of that it's just ehhh. I would give it 2.5 but it's not an option so we're rounding up. Hopefully when the deck is open and it's not just a bunch of smokers it will be a cool spot. I'm skeptical of the service when more tables are added and a busier kitchen will probably be even lower quality food. A few beers at the bar is the way to go otherwise I wouldn't rush or go out of my way to get here. read more

I didn't love Bobby Rays Black Horse Tavern. I felt it lacked in quality. This restaurant is fairly new so my expectations were a little high. They had 50% off their chicken wings the day I went so I quickly ordered that and some calamari. The calamari was sooo tough. We asked for the manager to remove it from the tab and thankfully she did without any hesitation. The chicken wings were a little fatty and just overall not desirable. I didn't even finish them. I really want to like the place, and have been about a dozen times, but it consistently provides very poor service. The people are friendly but unless you are sitting directly at the bar, I always get bad service. The dining area is kind of boring and gets no attention from the waitress, and in many cases, there is no waitress, just the overburdened bartendar. Food is good and good specials. But during sporting events, they never play the sound of any of the games, just hard rock music. Really kills the vibes during football games or Phillies games. I had the Filet Mignon rare. The salad is always fresh and generously portioned. The filet.... Amazing. Perfect seasoning and sear, it arrived with young asparagus and mashed potatoes to die for. my husband and I went to try the new Bobby rays restaurant. From the minute we walked in I knew it was going to be bad. It is soooo loud in there and no one was yelling. The high ceilings made the noise carry. You could hear each other talk. We order the wings because they were a happy hour special. I got the garlic parm and my hubby got the ones with t he r knockoff fat daddy sauce. I took one bite and spit it out. It had no flavor at all and it looked like mayo was on it. It made me gag. My husband said his were bad too. He said his tastes bland but with cheap hot sauce. I know this is a "new place" but this is their 2nd location. I don't honk they need to work the kinks out, they need to come up with better recipes. Everyone I talked to said that the food they had was horrible so I know it's not just us. read more

Went for lunch. Service is great, love the location. Food was really good. Will be back for sure! The only thing I'd change is I'd get regular pickles on my sandwich instead of fried pickles. This is there first week. The pretzel bites were cold. My first beer was partially flat. My second beer was completely flat. The Margherita was 80 % ice with an excess amount of line. I asked for my burger to be cooked medium. It was well done. The positives were, our service was good and the place is pretty nice. Ill wait a month and give it another try. read more

Finally got to try this place out. Came in the bar side, and decided to sit at the bar. Place was very nice inside. One bartender didn't get her name. She was very attentive and the bar was getting busy. Was a bit shocked at the prices. Got the wings, 10 for $15.50. Which is very high and no celery. I was told it was extra. Coming from the restaurant industry I would offer the celery to the customer. Seriously that is crazy. $1.55 per wing! Now I know what you're all saying why did I get them? I get wings everywhere I go, kind of like a food critic. They were OK but they taste just like everybody else's wings. One of us tried the cheesesteak and said it was dry. They had drinks specials so we tried a few of those. Tried the Bloody Mary. Was good and had a very sweet taste to it. That was different. One of the people I was with said she saw the bartender put wine in it. Might be there spin on it. Biker bar, empty cocaine baggies in the toilet not flushed. You can see the cook in the kitchen when leaving the rest room and the kid cooking was wearing gym shorts pulling his underwear out of his backside. He looked over and then just grabbed a sandwich roll and started building a burger. I stood there like I was typing and watched him pull a half cooked burger out of a bin and throw it on the grill and and wipe off the excess grease with a rag and stuff the dirty rag in his pocket. Drinks sat empty at the bar as one bartender sat talking to his friends in front of us for 15 minutes, never once acknowledge us.
