I visited for the first time today by the recommendation of a local resident. I ordered 2 Falafels, spinach pie, hummus and pita chips and the traditional gyro. Everything was excellent and very fresh. The staff and owners so pleasant and accommodating. When I mentioned that I was visiting my sister at The Osborn assisted living and that she and my brother in law were craving Greek food. Lot of the traditional Greek food. Souvlaki platters, grilled veggies, falafel, hummus, pita. We got falafel and the falafel on warmed pita. The falafel was good, but the falafel with warm pita was better. Part of the "toasted wraps" option, this came with tomatoes, onions, lettuce, and tzatziki sauce. It had wonderful flavor. I preferred it over the plain falafel and hummus. I had their traditional gyro sandwich, which is gyro, tzatziki, red onions, salt, pepper, paprika, and their special sauce, topped with fries. The gyro was fresh and moist, the flavors were tangy. We had the Greek fries, which were hot, crisp, with zesty, sharp feta cheese. We shared some deserts--the baklava, rice pudding, and kataifi (shredded phyllo on top). The baklava was too sweet for me, but my husband enjoyed it. I myself liked the baklava cheesecake, which added a sharper flavor that cut down on the sweetness. We have a juicy chicken souvlaki on a stick waiting for a snack later. A new Greek restaurant on the main drag of Halstead Ave in Harrison offering the standard gyros, souvlaki & falafel. There's even spanakopita! This is a welcome change to mix up our lunch rotation. I got the Gyro sandwich which was decent size and not bad for $7.95. I asked for the works on it and it came with a yellow mustard sauce I wasn't too thrilled with and some french fries on top, which was unexpected. I'll definitely have to go back to try the Horiatiki and Prasini salads and maybe some Chicken Souvlaki. The Baklava looked pretty good also. Street parking if you can get it, but there is a hidden parking lot out back that you can enter from Harrison Ave. Some seating in front if you want to dine in and a couple of tables outside if the weather is nice. read more

Ordered take out from Dimitris tonight. I got the village salad with souvlaki chicken and really enjoyed it. The chicken was a bit dry but was flavorful and lemony. The lettuce and accoutrements were all crunchy and colorful . The fresh dill in the salad was fantastic. My husband ordered the souvlaki platter. He also said the chicken tasted good but was dry. His meal came with choice of hummus or tzatzki. He chose the hummus and what a choice he made! It was light but bold and rich and perfectly salted! Had there been enough hummus I might have made a meal of it. Is that gross? :) He also chose an orzo salad for his side. It too received high marks. The orzo was perfeclty al dente, the dill and cucumber were delectable, and the vinegar and oil dressing brought everything together. (My plain-pasta-loving six year found it delicious!) A welcome addition to the busy Halstead Avenue gauntlet of shops and eateries. Family owned vibe and pride can be detected as soon as you walk in. The young staffers who take & prepare your order are nice and carefully assemble your order. The food is freshly prepared and of high qualify. My gyro tasted great and the fries were plentiful (which they should be for $4). Not a ton of seating but that's more of an observation rather than a complaint. I felt compelled to write a review after my experience here tonight. I came to pick up dinner during a rainy, sleety night and the gracious owner noticed I was pregnant and offered to walk me to my car so I wouldn't slip. In addition to offering truly delicious, fresh Greek food, they are a genuine family-owned business who cares about their customers. The Greek salad and Prasini salad with the chicken cutlet is delicious, and the feta is the freshest I've tasted outside Greece. My husband loves their soups and gyro platters as well. The spicy feta dip with fried pita chips is a must order, super addictive and perfect for sharing. We pick up from here about twice a week and will continue to do so, happy to support this wonderful family restaurant in Harrison! read more

I wanted to pick up some lunch and Greek felt like what I was in the mood for after reading some of the reviews. I ordered chicken souvlaki but they were out and stated I would have to wait 15 min for the next batch to come out. Instead I got the chicken skewer platter, grilled veggie platter, and the falafel platter. Since I wanted both the tzatziki and hummus, I ended up paying extra. The total for 3 people to eat ended up being $51 which was pricey. I didn't like that the sauce/hummus was packed separately because there were so many little containers in total. It would have been nice to just have them scooped into the platter instead. It would be easier to then be able to eat right out of the to-go container. The food was delicious! And the side salads were very good too. Tastes fresh. The people working there don't seem to be very efficient, but they were all friendly. read more

I try to love this place. The service just can't keep up. The seating area is small so my family doesn't like to come in and eat. So I have to place the order. When I've placed orders for delivery I've waited over 1.5 hours for the delivery. They don't have a way of placing an order online that isn't a delivery service. But.... when I call in my order it's pure chaos. I came in here tonight to order my order in person and wait bc I was put on hold and totally forgetten about for ten mins. I could hear the chaos "what am I doing now?!" Listening to them helping other people coming in. So I hang up and try to call again. Busy. So I came in. Placed my order. Waiting here with the Uber eats drivers who are also pissed bc it's just taking too long. The food is cooked and sitting. It just needs to be put together. I don't know why it's so hard??! The food is so good. The owners are such nice people. I feel terrible giving it three stars. Five stars if you want to eat in. We ordered the following for takeaway yesterday: Yiayia's special, 3 dip sampler, 2 gyros, 2 chicken souvlaki, 2 pork souvlaki, shrimp souvlaki & French fries, Don't be afraid to ask if you don't see something on the menu. I was tempted by the photos from their catering menu and asked if they had any stuffed bell peppers. Turns out, they did! So I ordered it as the "Yiayia's special". It was definitely my favorite dish as well as the 3 dip sampler. The pita was so fresh! Everything was delicious. Such a welcomed addition to the "fast food" scene in Westchester. So glad I found this gem on Yelp! Rainy Friday night, didn't wanna cook, didn't want pizza, looked up "Greek food," and this little gem of a place came up. My family of 5 got original gyros (added lettuce,) cheese pie, orzo salad and a side of fries "to go." I called ahead of time to place my order (something I'm hesitant to do because orders tend to get screwed up when you ask for things on the side etcetc) and the girl on the other side of the line did a really good job taking my order. She repeated my order back to me and made sure she got the order right. She told me it would be ready in 10 min...on a Friday? In Westchester? Amazing. Got there in 15 min and was welcomed with a scent-bomb of delicious Greek goodness. The owner was at the register and seemed to have a rapport with all the customers she was helping. She and I chatted a bit and she gave me the scoop on all the food, where it comes from, and how she makes it. She even offered me a taste of (literally the tastiest) feta cheese directly from Greece, and a taste of her homemade spicy feta dip with a pita. YUMMMMMM X a million. Uhhhhhmazing. She made me feel like I was right at home, a part of all of this Greek magic, and her food felt like a hug in my belly when I finally got home to devour it. Everyone who walked in there got a hearty welcome. She made the experience that much better. I will say, as a true child of the internet, I was slightly disappointed to find out that there's no delivery option, which, y'know, isn't ideal for a rainy night, but this food was very well worth the 13 minute drive. We usually call in our order and then pick up a few extra things once we get to the restaurant, and we are never disappointed. The gyros are reasonably priced and you get real value for your money.
