Sadly reading the reviews that weren't that great I wanted to go give it a try since it's an outside restaurant . The service was ok , the food was ok , the drinks were good. Guess due to the ambiance, definitely packed and people waiting to be seated . They have music which makes it a plus .

    Tuna something...

The service was very disappointing, especially for such a beautiful and exclusive location. We arrived right at opening time. First, we were given a menu that did not include breakfast. Then we received a breakfast menu, but were later told that breakfast is only served on weekends. We tried to order guacamole, but were told it was unavailable. There was another dish we tried to order and again they said that they don't have it. We ordered the tuna sandwich, but a completely different dish was brought to the table. Since we had already waited more than 30 minutes, I decided not to send it back and wait even longer. I believe it was tuna tartare, and unfortunately I did not enjoy it at all. We also ordered the hummus plate, which was disappointing. We came hungry, ordered two appetizers, and neither of us could finish our food because we simply didn't like it. The cappuccinos were good compared to the food . We were charged full price for both dishes, even for the one we didn't order)) and when I was handed the pen to sign the receipt, it leaked ink all over my hands. Although they did find an alcohol to hand it over to me to clean myself) The view is beautiful, but based on our experience, I would only recommend coming here for the scenery.

Really good whole some eats and service. the best part aside from the food is the views here right on the rye beach coast with lovely ocean air outside patio and indoor floor to ceiling windows gives a wonderful ambiance i stopped by for a burger while at the beach and it was awesome very large portion and they can cut it in half for sharing totally go here it's pretty good! A+

I highly recommend this place if you are on the Oakland beach. The lifeguards close down at 6 pm and you make resy to sit on the patio facing the beach under the umbrella. Definitely specific your preference for the beach facing patio because you will end up sitting by door and the ice cream cooler cart with no view of the beach. They have kids menu for $13-16 but doesn't Come with drinks or dessert. For a family Of 4 expect to spend $100 - extra if you get drinks and dessert... we had the cheesecake and churros

Been here a few times before , but this experience wasn't really very good . That little piece of Salmon costed $14 dollars and it was the driest salmon I ever had . Service wasn't that great either , only one bartender and too many people at the bar and outside . You basically had to chase the bartender while seating at the bar . The place is adorable and the beach view is great . But looks like they also changed the menu and all they have are burgers and a whole bunch of fried food :( just what you need when it's 90 degrees out ( NOT ) . I don't know what happened here , but it was very disappointing.

What a fun little beachside spot. We met for after dinner drinks, sat outside and ordered some guac and chips. Doesn't get much better than that! Try the Miami Vice: half Pina Colada, half Strawberry Daiquiri.

@thebarleybeachhouse super cute decor for the holidays!! * We had an awesome time with our friends, great festive drinks and good food * It is a hidden gem so just trust the process with the GPS directions * The lobster roll was the star of the show! So good, the muscles as well but they were a tiny bit salty. The service was amazing, we sat at the bar and the bartender was in full control all night. Even with all the people she had she still made sure we had everything we needed!

Where do you park? Is there a lot?

Yes. You pay to park, unless you have a paid Resident sticker, or if you come there a little bit out of season /April? Very late Oct or November).

    Why isn't there a web site? Why can't I find a menu?

THE FOOD ----------------…read more+ New England Seafood Chowder - Very good. Came out piping hot and had lots of potato chunks, carrots and fish inside. Only knock is we wish we had more! + Clam Pizza - Personal pie size pizza. Honestly, just the right size. Verrrrry delicious and verrrrry flavorful, BUTTTTT the flavor didn't come from the clams - it came from the over-dominating flavor of the bacon scattered all over the pizza. Not to say that the bacon flavor was bad, but it could have used more clams. + Kids Mac and Cheese - Gooey just the way we, especially our kids, love it. + Grilled Angus Burger - Solid burger. Cooked medium and it was the right shade of pink inside, but the burger was a litttttle dry. It was not dripping juices and oil as I would prefer. Plenty of fries onions on it though. Fries reminded me of the thin McD fries. + Steak Tacos - Just 2 tacos. Would have liked if it was an order of 3. Steak was good though. Guac inside mixed with the steak chunks definitely made it better considering that the steak was well done. THE SERVICE ------------------- + Friendly and courteous waiter. Accommodated our numerous ketchup requests and never forgot anything. + Food came out VERY quickly. - For the Grilled Angus Burger, cheese did not come with it for free, but the waiter asked what cheese I wanted, which misled me to think that cheese came with the order. I ended up adding swiss cheese, which definitely made the burger better, but it was an extra charge. The extra $2 for the cheese was not the issue, but the way that I felt that the waiter misled me was the issue. Instead of asking what cheese I wanted, he should have asked "Would you like cheese with your order?" It's the principle. Feel me? Because of this, had to knock off a star off what would have been a 4-star review. THE SURROUNDINGS -------------------------------- + Private parking lot was in the back. All of the spaces in the front are for the Rye Train Station and paid, so DO NOT park in front of the restaurant if you're here to dine. + SUPER spacious restaurant with 2 levels - 2nd level seems like it is for private parties. 1st level has 3 dining areas PLUS a nice, huge bar area. + Multiple TVs located by the bar. RANDOM OBSERVATIONS -------------------------------------- + Came by on a random August Friday at 11:45 AM and, as expected, it was pretty quiet at first, but business picked up verybquickly and it became pretty busy by 12:45.

    - Large, spacious restaurant with a rustic yet classy vibe; plenty of seating throughout, including…read moretables, booths, and a bar; second-level space for private events, along with outdoor seating in the front - Small, somewhat tight private parking lot located to the left of the restaurant--easy to miss if you're not looking for it - Service was friendly, attentive, and consistent throughout our meal - Food was enjoyable overall: seafood chowder was served piping hot and loaded with generous chunks of fish, potatoes, and carrots--flavor was excellent, although we were surprised it wasn't served with oyster crackers for some added crunch; steak tacos were tasty and well-flavored, but the portion was quite small for an entrée; the clam pie was well prepared with a pleasantly chewy dough--was quite heavy on the bacon, which unfortunately overpowered the clam flavor, but it was still a good pie overall; the grilled angus burger had good flavor and cooked to the requested medium, though it wasn't as juicy as expected--the crispy onions were also more chewy than crispy; kids' mac and cheese was nice and gooey--a solid choice for the kiddos

Karaoke was in full swing and the hosts are very talented. We made reservations but it was not packed this particular Thursday evening. It was very hot so we stayed indoors but I would have liked very much to sit outside. They have a nice location. Everyone was veyr nice, from hostess to bussers; our server was very attentive. We started off with some drinks, and their jerk spring rolls and codfish fritters. Everything was really good. Hubby had their lomo saltado. He said it was OK but the rice was dry and it wasn't served as it should be, with the sauté on top of the French fries. I had the ribeye with mac & cheese and cabbage slaw. The steak temp was perfect, as was the mac. The slaw was bland - I wish I ordered a different side. My kiddo had their chicken fingers w/French fries, and liked it. My MIL had their pollo a la brasa, and enjoyed it as well. We surprised hubby with a happy birthday red velvet slice and headed out. Service was great and it was a vibe with the live music. After our meal, we walked around Hudson Park nearby and enjoyed a very chill day. I would definitely come back.

The ambiance and aesthetics definitely lived up to the hype, and our waitress was kind, attentive, and did her best throughout the night. Unfortunately, the experience went downhill because of the wait. We arrived and were seated around 7:45 PM, but we didn't receive our food until about 9:15 PM. We ordered a Caesar salad, oxtail spring rolls, lomo, and jerk chicken. After waiting for what felt like forever, our waitress explained that our order had been given to the wrong table. While I appreciated her honesty, it was frustrating that it took so long for the mistake to be noticed and corrected. As for the food, I'd give it a 3.5/10. It had potential, but overall it just missed the mark for me. After such a long wait, I expected much better. We were only offered 15% off the bill, which didn't really feel like adequate compensation for a 90-minute wait caused by the restaurant's mistake. This was my first visit, and unfortunately, it wasn't a good one. I'd seen this restaurant all over social media and had high expectations, but my experience didn't live up to the hype.
