Tuna something...
Sofia D.

The service was very disappointing, especially for such a beautiful and exclusive location. We arrived right at opening time. First, we were given a menu that did not include breakfast. Then we received a breakfast menu, but were later told that breakfast is only served on weekends. We tried to order guacamole, but were told it was unavailable. There was another dish we tried to order and again they said that they don't have it. We ordered the tuna sandwich, but a completely different dish was brought to the table. Since we had already waited more than 30 minutes, I decided not to send it back and wait even longer. I believe it was tuna tartare, and unfortunately I did not enjoy it at all. We also ordered the hummus plate, which was disappointing. We came hungry, ordered two appetizers, and neither of us could finish our food because we simply didn't like it. The cappuccinos were good compared to the food . We were charged full price for both dishes, even for the one we didn't order)) and when I was handed the pen to sign the receipt, it leaked ink all over my hands. Although they did find an alcohol to hand it over to me to clean myself) The view is beautiful, but based on our experience, I would only recommend coming here for the scenery.

Really good whole some eats and service. the best part aside from the food is the views here right on the rye beach coast with lovely ocean air outside patio and indoor floor to ceiling windows gives a wonderful ambiance i stopped by for a burger while at the beach and it was awesome very large portion and they can cut it in half for sharing totally go here it's pretty good! A+

I highly recommend this place if you are on the Oakland beach. The lifeguards close down at 6 pm and you make resy to sit on the patio facing the beach under the umbrella. Definitely specific your preference for the beach facing patio because you will end up sitting by door and the ice cream cooler cart with no view of the beach. They have kids menu for $13-16 but doesn't Come with drinks or dessert. For a family Of 4 expect to spend $100 - extra if you get drinks and dessert... we had the cheesecake and churros

The AMAZING VIEW !!

Been here a few times before , but this experience wasn't really very good . That little piece of Salmon costed $14 dollars and it was the driest salmon I ever had . Service wasn't that great either , only one bartender and too many people at the bar and outside . You basically had to chase the bartender while seating at the bar . The place is adorable and the beach view is great . But looks like they also changed the menu and all they have are burgers and a whole bunch of fried food :( just what you need when it's 90 degrees out ( NOT ) . I don't know what happened here , but it was very disappointing.

What a fun little beachside spot. We met for after dinner drinks, sat outside and ordered some guac and chips. Doesn't get much better than that! Try the Miami Vice: half Pina Colada, half Strawberry Daiquiri.

@thebarleybeachhouse super cute decor for the holidays!! * We had an awesome time with our friends, great festive drinks and good food * It is a hidden gem so just trust the process with the GPS directions * The lobster roll was the star of the show! So good, the muscles as well but they were a tiny bit salty. The service was amazing, we sat at the bar and the bartender was in full control all night. Even with all the people she had she still made sure we had everything we needed!

5 Stars - Outstanding Drinks & Service! We had the best experience at Barley Beach House, thanks to Cristian, the incredibly talented bartender who truly elevated our visit. He crafted the most amazing drink call Smoke on the Sound--perfectly balanced with Mezcal, refreshing, and just the right amount of lime and grapefruit juice. His spicy Paloma was next-level too--bold, zesty, and with just the right kick. You can tell he puts real skill and care into every drink he makes. To top it off, we shared a plate of nachos, and they were the perfect match for our cocktails--crispy, cheesy, and generously topped. Great vibes, excellent service, and phenomenal drinks. Cristian is a gem--can't wait to come back!

Ask the Community - The Barley Beach House

Where do you park? Is there a lot?

Yes. You pay to park, unless you have a paid Resident sticker, or if you come there a little bit out of season /April? Very late Oct or November).

Why isn't there a web site? Why can't I find a menu?

Love the food! Love the service!…read more Ron our waiter was so friendly and accommodating!! The restaurant looks like a beautiful house with an outdoor porch where you have the option to dine on if you'd like. The inside you have a beautiful bar area to the left and a dining area to the right with a fire place giving a comfy upscale feel. The prices are a little on the pricier side so something to note. I recommend the shrimp tacos and Parmesan fries! You have the option to host events there too as I was witness to a couple during my time there. The only con is the parking situation. I've only ever been during the day for lunch and there are never any parking spots. I always spend a good 10-15 minutes circling around for one to open up. They do have a small dedicated lot nearby, but very limited spots and tight area. Plan accordingly.

Fell Short Parking: D - They really need valet parking…read more Parking was inconvenient and took away from the overall experience. Ambiance: B - Typical steakhouse atmosphere. Nice enough, but nothing particularly memorable or unique. Bathroom: C - The restroom was very hot and had an unpleasant odor reminiscent of a urinal. It could definitely use remodeling and better ventilation. Service: A - Excellent and nearly perfect. The staff was attentive, professional, and one of the highlights of the evening. Food: C - Unfortunately, the food was disappointing. My porterhouse steak was cut very thin and was overcooked. I also did not enjoy the cold potatoes. In addition, the meal should have been served on two plates or with a larger plate, as it was difficult to cut the steak comfortably.

The happy hour cocktail menu was limited, however we thought we would try something new and ordered one of the featured drinks- but they were out of the ingredients so only one of us was able to enjoy a featured cocktail and I ordered an espresso martini and my daughter ordered a Cosmo. The drinks were delicious, as was the food. We ordered several dishes and enjoyed all of them. The service was terrific as well and for that reason I would certainly recommend stopping in. However, I do feel that $24 for an espresso martini was a bit steep and $8 for 3 wings is NOT normal happy hour pricing. The Philly eggroll was tasty - but it was 1 egg roll for $9. We do enjoy frequenting establishments all over NYC and Westchester and we certainly don't mind paying but I suppose I just would NOT market it as a happy hour. Other than that thought- we enjoyed the ambiance and the staff was great.

After spending an evening with James at O.M.C. he recommended The Blind Pig for dinner, and even called in a reservation for us! This place was loud and lively, crowded and full of raucous laughter with fun music playing in the background, a mid to late 20's crowd packed the bar and every table was full too, but our host and server Peter seemed to be everywhere at once! We never had an empty water glass, dirty plates were whisked away immediately, craft cocktails and food brought out on a perfectly timed schedule. The drinks were great, the food was killer, and I kinda wish we were in town longer to try more of it!

It was very hot so we stayed indoors but I would have liked very much to sit outside. They have a nice location. Everyone was veyr nice, from hostess to bussers; our server was very attentive. We started off with some drinks, and their jerk spring rolls and codfish fritters. Everything was really good. Hubby had their lomo saltado. He said it was OK but the rice was dry and it wasn't served as it should be, with the sauté on top of the French fries. I had the ribeye with mac & cheese and cabbage slaw. The steak temp was perfect, as was the mac. The slaw was bland - I wish I ordered a different side. My kiddo had their chicken fingers w/French fries, and liked it. My MIL had their pollo a la brasa, and enjoyed it as well. We surprised hubby with a happy birthday red velvet slice and headed out. Service was great and it was a vibe with the live music. After our meal, we walked around Hudson Park nearby and enjoyed a very chill day. I would definitely come back.
