Originally went in on Sunday to just "look" at alternatives to our now soon to be extinct Jetta TDI. Were met and welcomed by Jim Dunaway, talked briefly about what we're looking for and soon enough, off we went on a test drive in a Prius 4 touring. Came back from the drive and started actually thinking about a purchase. Went back and forth a few times about about our driving needs & wants, purchase vs lease, etc and finally decided to actually get two cars. With the help of Jin Dunaway and the Sales Manager, (another Jim) they came up with two very nice plans for us that met our needs. Not too much pressure involved to get the cars, but willing to be flexible and work with us to make it happen. So we now have two Priuses to call our own and are looking forward to saving on our significant fuel expense moving forward. read more

I'm extremely disappointed in the service department here at Temecula Valley Toyota, I wouldn't recommend my worst enemy to come get there car check here. First of all, I asked to get a diagnostic read print out of my car, and which they said they do for $140. I went to pick up my car hours later, and I asked the cashiers for my diagnostic print out, and they told me they do not give out print outs, they only give the mechanic suggestions. Which the suggestion was to rebuild the motor for $3,000 and it MAY or MAY NOT fix the problem!!! I left, disgusted that I was lied to about getting my diagnostic print out. The following day I received an email to do a survey and I let them know what had happen. New owners in Temecula make a big change! One of my 6 kids wanted a new Toyota Corolla and I had obtained the best deal from the largest dealer in the world. Only thing is I needed to drive into Orange County from Temecula and I thought, what the hell, I will give the local dealer one last try...well, I was pleasantly surprised. For the record, my family own 12 vehicles. I have given Temecula dealers opportunities to just match the other deals (father owned and ran dealerships of 50 years) so I know the business, but never bought a car locally (since 1989) until my X5 from BMW in Murrieta in 2012. We have bought 5 new cars since 2012. Toyota and Subaru missed 3 new cars in 2012 through 2014. So, to get back to Temecula Valley Toyota, I decided to give them another chance. Not only did they meet the deal I had with no hassle and great customer service, but then ate the extra 1.5% sales tax (Berkeley, where my daughter is gong to school and must register vehicle) and did not make me feel like I was ripping them off. The new owners and operators are first class. Their policy is to not lose a deal, especially if a local resident. From the salesman (Leonard) and Sales Manager (Jim Pavone) to the exceptional Finance Services Manager (Ryan Brown), I felt like I was special and their only goal was complete satisfaction and no hidden BS. I must recommend these guys to all local residents. We have a gem of a dealership here locally. Sadly our once outstanding relationship with this dealership has abruptly come to a halt. WHY? Good question. Recently, we were contacted by Mr. Radnai (owner and GM) as a followup to our interest in a few different vehicles. Lets just say, the sales person, while of good intentions was so swamped trying to help 5 different customers at a time on Memorial Day started our downfall relationship with the dealership. In NO way do we directly BLAME the sales person. He has ALWAYS provided outstanding support. However, it would appear the new ownership has OLD DEALERSHIP ideas by REDUCING the number of sales persons, assistant managers, etc. etc. etc. Next, because our deal would have included trading in two vehicles, it appears when a simple new car purchase is anything but ROUTINE, you know, herd the cattle in and out, INTEREST is lost. What I strongly object to is lack of COMMUNICATION. While I have DOCUMENTED notes from the employee that ALL I HAD TO DO WAS BRING THE MOTOR HOME DOWN so the used car salesman COULD APPRAISE. When I heard this proposal I ask, ARE YOU SURE ABOUT THAT? I know enough about this industry to KNOW that a local car dealership is NOT in the RV business but are able to take trailers, motor home, RV's as trade. Anyway, the employee said YES. So, I got the motor home out of storage, took it to the dealership, the used car salesman stopped by, looked it over in addition to all the documented information i had already provided. Next, I patiently WAITED for over 3 hours while I waited for APPRAISAL plus the dealership was so busy and not enough assistant manager to take care of all the customers, i finally gave up and brought the motor home back to storage and came home. The next day, I was contacted by the employee with an apology for the delay. He told me they had gone to their rv brokers to get bids, only one had come in at $21,000 which is much much less than our payoff. Anyway, he said they were still waiting for the 2 other bids. That was Tuesday, after Memorial Day. It was DEAD silence from the dealership until I finally text the employee on the following Saturday. To make a long story short this conversation did NOT go well at which point the employee said his job is to sell toyota's. That was the last I have heard. I strongly disagree. He offered to get the appraisal for the motor home, plus we wanted to trade our 2013 Prius in since we were interested in a NEW 2015 Camry Hybrid. Now, all of a sudden he was interested in selling us the Camry WITHOUT the motor home in the mix. So, now, instead of possibly buying the Camry Hybrid and a Tacoma Crew Cab we have successfully purchased a NEW 2015 VW Passat from the local dealer where the customers aren't herded around like cattle and treated with respect. read more

My wife and I had a very disappointing experience as first time buyers at Temecula Valley Toyota. We were lead to believe by Gus, the salesman, that we had agreed upon a final price that was "out the door". He later denied this and we found out that only the owner or a sales manager can do that. But that's where their string of lies started. The passive aggressive finance manager Ryan argued with us at 11:30 PM while we were trying to complete our paperwork and leave. He tried selling us extra stuff, but NEVER explained the total cost of the car, so we ended up returning it. Everyone from the over zealous salesmen Gus, to Rex in service, to Tom Belt the sales manager made promises they didn't keep. I will NEVER recommend Temecula Valley Toyota to anyone. ALL of them are wolves in sheep's clothing. That could be true of most dealerships, but I know it to be true of this one. Wherever you go, know your price ahead of time and get EVERYTHING in writing. I'm usually only here for routine oil maintenance on my 2010 Prius. We get our tires rotated somewhere else at a much cheaper price. But for those who are interested, tire rotation with the routine oil maintance is at $99 right now. I'm not sure if I like how a routine oil maintenance and basic inspection of everything takes 2 hours even when I schedule appointments. I do enjoy the complimentary car cleaning though. At least my car is spiffy clean on the outside and inside by the time everything's all done! Especially my tires! Donuts, coffee, hot chocolate, and water in the waiting room! And free wifi! It makes the 2 hour waits a lot more manageable. There is also a shuttle service. Other than that, the customer service here is always great! Everyone is friendly and approachable. I've been waiting a few weeks to leave this review until my entire experience was through. Well, it's safe to say that now it is. Initially I wanted to rave about this dealership, I had been telling everybody who was interested what a great experience we had had. Now I'm left with an extremely bad taste in my mouth. Let me start off by saying that Leonard, the salesman who sold us TWO brand new 2016 vehicles, was great. My opinion of him has not changed and he was amazing with us. He made us feel comfortable and really made us feel as if we knew him! He was patient, funny and really seemed to try to get us the best deals. So now, the sales manager, Jim.... I honestly was fooled because he seemed to be an honest man. Anyways, basically the deciding factor for us to say yes to trading in our Explorer for a Sienna SE was to have the DVD player we saw in the other Sienna's on the lot put into the black model we wanted. We weren't given it for free, although we tried, the best he could do was a discounted rate of $1,300+ ... but for us it was worth it, thinking we were getting the dual screen DVD player, considering we have 3 children with different likes. I dropped off the van on Wednesday morning and was notified in the afternoon it was ready. I picked it up and knew something was not right. I felt ripped off, like I knew it was too good to be true that this dealership was as honest as they seemed. VERY disappointing for me. The DVD player they did install is an off brand POS, pretty much. Not something you'd put in a $43,000 car in my opinion. My husband called the next morning to speak to Jim, but was told he wasn't there and was told they could not install an OEM DVD player at all. We received a message back that evening basically saying they weren't sure how we could resolve this, since my husband had suggested they just take this back and could refund us the amount we had paid in. We were told if they did that we'd be left with a void in the ceiling. Really. So basically how can we go back and do business here? Upon arriving two minutes late to my service appointment at 2:00, I was made to wait 15 minutes in my car. The gentlemen who was supposed to take care of me was apparently at lunch. After waiting said time for someone to help me, I was finally approached by a man who took my info. I was told to wait in the waiting room, where I contributed to wait until 4:00. Very disappointed with Toyota Temecula, just did my oil change with tire rotation and not even 3k miles later one of my tires blew. I had to get all new set of tires after i just rotated my tires and was told they were good. TERRIBLE EXPERIENCE!!! I called and got Joaquin, I told him what vehicle I was interested in and that I already had an approval for the loan. I told him what I wanted my payments to be and more, he said it was all VERY possible. I drove an hour to this dealership from Riverside. Once I was there, he told me a different amount and when I said no...he proceeded to tell me I was being unreasonable because I wouldn't pay an extra $30 a month...in his words "it's just an extra $30". He ended up bringing in another guy named Don who swore he could help. Don promised he wanted a happy customer so I'd refer people to their dealership and more. They ended up making me feel so bad that I did it and bought the car. After I had signed papers, I was then told that there was no second key and there was a crack in the windshield. Finally, a week later after I buy the car I get the second key from Joaquin...but the battery is dead. Then I take the car in to get the windshield fixed and all they do is fill it so it doesn't spread. The crack is still there and still visible. I try to talk to Don about it and explain how I am not the "happy customer" he wanted...and this guy gets up from his desk and walks away. His only words were "hopefully they can help you". ALL THESE PEOPLE CARED ABOUT WAS $$$$! They don't care about you and if you are happy with your vehicle or the service. The service was completed on time. That's about the best I can say. I hate to be such a negative-nanny, but the process to completion was confusing and rushed. Why? I had to interrupt, upon arrival, a social conversation and both greeters were less than helpful. I asked where I checked in and they said, here. Okay? There was a "are you going to check him in or should I" banter, and finally the guy agreed he would. The guy said "Is that your car" Me: Uh, yeah, I was the only person to come through... Anyhow, my service advisor introduced herself after asking if I had an appointment..."Oh, and my name is ******". Yes, I had an appointment. No smiles. Upon completion, I was pointed to go to the receptionist who merely said what my charge was, stapled the papers and say how are you paying. Internal Me: Bad day? No explanation of the paperwork or the type of work that was completed. I had a few questions about the paperwork, but I'd rather not get frustrated with disingenuous service reps. I guess I was spoiled, because I used to go to Toyota Service Center in Carlsbad, and they were awesome! Plus, their wait room is truly 5 stars. The best thing about Toyota Temecula Service place was they were on time and the shuttle service was great. Both drivers were conversational, and really kind. I went to CarMax initially, Darlene is amazing there btw. Before I went to sign a deal at Carmax for a Toyota Camry, I went to Toyota to see if Toyota could help me better than CarMax could at selling me a Toyota. I met a salesman named John Wall. At first, I just noticed John would put words in my mouth, bring me cars to look at that I wasn't interested in, argue with me about a color of a car, all of which I could deal with, no biggie. Not until we got inside did I really get mistreated by him. Within the first 5 minutes of us talking inside he insulted me. He said no offense your car is junk and you expect a nice car back (he checked out my trader in car and it has a dent in the front of the car, called me by the wrong name multiple times, and then told me I probably took the money from the insurance company and spent it. I was so shocked at the way he was talking to me. I was blown away! I had no idea what was going on and why he was talking to me like this! I went to my car to grab my ID and thought to myself, I so don't want to give this man my business. Even though I wanted to buy from Toyota with the warranties they offered, I'd much rather buy from a sales representative like Darlene from Carmax. I was very upfront on my deal with Carmax. I told him my trade in amount they offered. I didn't mind if he couldn't help me, or beat the deal I already was offered, I was just there to check and see what Toyota had to offer themselves. I've never been insulted like this while giving my business to a company in my whole entire life. When I came back with my ID I gave it to John Wall and asked if I can be helped by someone else. He said, yes I was just about to suggest that and went and got Moe Elayyan. Once again John Wall called me Dolores (I've already corrected him) as he introduced me to Moe. I corrected him again in front of Moe. Moe having to step into this very uncomfortable situation was exceptional at being compassionate and worked well with me. He really turned things around. Honestly, I did not get that happy feeling you get buying a car the majority of the time. It was hard shaking it off the first impression John Wall gave of Toyota. However, I did end up buying the car from Moe. I bought it because of Moe Elayyan's customer service and the friendliness I received from him and Tyler (finance) as well. Thank you so much Moe and Tyler! You guys are awesome and I hope you get praised for your hard work! I would hate for this review to reflect only the negative side Of the experience I had. I did let the manager know the situation and he assured me that he would take care of it appropriately. I just feel that I wouldn't want anyone to be treated like I did. I don't know if it's because I'm a woman and I was by myself or what the reason was that I was treated so poorly by that first sales representative but I definitely hope this helps this situation not happen again. read more

My car-buying experience at TVT was awful. I went there and spoke with salesman Chris Barreto about the models and features available and took a test drive. Chris was friendly and not pushy, a definite plus, until it came to the discussion about financing. I was clear that I wanted to pay cash; he not only told me about leasing, which is legitimate, but went into far more detail than I wanted to hear and implied that I was making a foolish decision. He, I, and the manager (I think he was the manager) agreed on an out-the-door price for my car of interest, including the car, taxes, fees, and my trade-in; that price was $16K. I made my decision and came in the next day at 9 and said "Okay, let's do it." I knew exactly what I wanted (the car) and what I didn't want (anything else, including financing, extended warranties, or other options). We had already negotiated and agreed on the price, and I was paying cash. I anticipated that I would sign some papers and be done in a half hour or so. I didn't leave there until after 3, more than six hours later. During that time I was kept waiting for up to a half hour on multiple occasions to speak to yet another person or wait for some sort of decision, even though the only decision to be made was the out-the-door price, taken care of the previous day. Yes, they have other customers, although it was a weekday and they didn't seem all that busy, and taking care of the existing customer is the usual rule of business. I don't know whether all this waiting was really poor customer service or a deliberate tactic to wear me down. The low point came when the manager told me that there were two things that had already been installed on the car: some sort of protective coating and an alarm system. He said they were worth $1000 each but that he would give me a special price of half off, or $1000 for the two items, for an out-the-door price of $17K, not $16K. I said I didn't want them. He said they were already on the car and couldn't be removed, so I'd have to pay for them. I said we had negotiated $16K for the car and I expected that to be honored. His reply was that the $16K was for the car, not the add-ons. I asked whether they were part of the car or not. If so, they were part of the agreed-upon price. If not, they were options that I didn't want. He didn't give me a straight answer but instead pressured me to tell him why I wouldn't want these features. I didn't play the game but instead said, and repeated, "We agreed on $16K. I give you a check for $16K and take the car or I walk." We had several iterations of the same conversation as I stood my ground: "$16K or I walk." This was supposed to be an easy and pleasant win-win - they wanted to sell a car and I wanted to buy it, and we had agreed on a price. But things were rapidly turning adversarial and unpleasant at their end. The manager walked off and kept me waiting another 20 minutes or so, and then announced - his tone suggesting that I should be grateful - that they would honor the $16K price after all. By then it was about 2PM. The last step was to meet with the finance guy and sign some papers. The explanations and signing took about 15 minutes and should have been all that was involved in the first place. But then he told me (okay, that's his job) - and told me, and kept telling me (not okay) - about the extended warranty, alarm system (again), and other options and types of protection. I said I'm not interested, period. He repeated the pitch and tried to get me to tell him why I wouldn't want these things. He also said that the offers were good today only, both of these being well-known and obvious pres-sure tactics. In short, I was there for six-plus hours when the actual signing of the papers took only 15 minutes, plus some time that was useful to me to explain some of the features. It should never have taken over six hours, nor should it have been as unpleasant and downright grueling and adversarial as it was. I don't know whether I was treated this way because I was a lone female and assumed to be a pushover, or whether all their customers are treated like this, or whether this is about what I would have experienced at any car dealership. Yes, I got the car for the $16K we agreed to. But the process with TVT was awful, and not something I would recommend to anyone. read more
