First time I called they did not return my call for over 2 months, then they texted a reply stating they were sorry for the delay in getting back. Really? For some reason I chalked it up to error and gave them another chance and scheduled them again for an appt today.....they sent confirmations via e-mail which stated they would call 15 min to 1 hour prior to arrival...They never showed up or even called during the 3 hour appt window and finally called this evening to reschedule. I stated my frustrations over the first contact scenario and the current, so they asked you if I wanted to schedule/cancel? So I said "yes" and they replied "have a nice day"...... After checking the "actual" reviews and the the positive ones "THEY" assert on their website along with this experience, I can conclude they have created a large call center web marketing presence with the work subcontracted out to individuals without any customer service incentives....Look at these reviews here on Yelp...(1.5 stars average!!!!) along with numerous BBB complaints. My strong advice would be to stay away from this company and choose someone locally who cares about positive review and referrals, as this company clearly does not. read more

Had an appoint for two days out so I get it with current Covid issues people I'll not feeling well when they called in the morning I had the appointment to cancel and reschedule for another two days out. Ok again I liked the service previous I'll be a loyal client. Guess what? No show no call no email on the second appointment day. I call Karls and now told another 3 days out. Now this is not a personal internet cruiser it a business unit used daily 10 hours a day. never said " hey sorry about that" nothing. Best we can do is Saturday now and we cannot bump a new customer for you even though you have been loyal. They were the WORST company ever. Ripoffs for sure. (and I have receipt to prove my claims!) Sent a young kid out that didn't have a CLUE. He tells me after an hour, "it could be a virus, or it could be your hard drive, the blue screen keeps popping up. I'll just set you up to replace your hard drive." Ok...how much? "$300-$400 plus trip charge." Ok...so my charge today is included in that right? "oh no! the charge you pay today is for me to come out and diagnose!" DIAGNOSE WHAT??? You can't tell me what the heck is wrong!!! Then he made sure he dragged it out until 2 minutes after the hour and CHARGED me for another 1/2 hour!!! All he did the entire time was keep playing with his mask and grunting. The most non-friendly individual EVER. I've complained to the company and they don't respond back. When I did get with the owner, he was extremely rude and told me to "go ahead and try to argue the charges, I'll never win!" Soooo, I take my computer two days later to a well-recommended local computer place. They charged $49 to diagnose, and if I had them fix once they figured it out, the $49 would go to the charges. The guy called me very next day..."Well, we have good news for you, you only needed a firmware update. We left computer on all nite and all day today and it's working fine." Great! how much do I owe you? "Nothing, your diagnostic you paid covers it!" Arguably the worst in this field. They took advantage of a young non-technical woman, by charging her more for a simple task. The job was poorly done, and when she asked them to check it again, they wouldn't do it without charging her more. And when I tried to call them to resolve, the manager wouldn't take the call, directed the staff to tell me to "fill out the form", and proceeded to block my number. I was shocked and disappointed by the position taken by Sean Carriveau, manager for Karls Technology, regarding a misunderstanding that led to an inappropriate charge in August of 2018. I was initially advised that a technician validate that my Apple Macbook screen was cracked. It was unclear that I would be charged for this visit since the problem was clear. There was no work done and as I had said, the screen was cracked. The charge was $125, and the technician admitted that he did not have much experience replacing Apple screens. The manager was intimidating and attacked my character when I attempted to discuss the matter.. I paid the charge having been threatened with collections as my credit is important to me. Subsequently I took the compute to Apple and the charge was more than 20% cheaper. Good customer service is one of the cornerstones of a successful company. Apparently Karls does not post all reviews on their website; another indication of misleading communication. read more

When I called they said it was still in progress. 7 months later they emailed me that they could not successfully fix my hard drive. They still charged me hundreds of dollars. read more

Karls Technology Technician's skills were inadequate to properly complete the task of set of new computer and transfer of data. He did not adequately assess the contents of the old hard drive, prior to starting the transfer. After 3 visits and $500 in charges, my new computer was still missing some files and photos. Some photos were transferred twice, others not at all. Technician said some files were encrypted and he could not decrypt them. The technician appeared to be distracted, with his cell phone, for much of the time the transfers were taking place. My old computer was reassembled by someone else. I was able to copy all the missing data files and photos and load them on my new computer. I would strongly advise against anyone from using this firm. read more

Technician came out to repair my laptop. Two hours later technician left after installing new SSD. Windows completed installation and computer was entirely unchanged and not useable. The company agreed to a partial refund of $187. I followed up a few days later and they apologized for the delayed refund and asked for my patience. I followed up a week later inquiring about the refund and heard nothing back. I'm now disputing the entire charge of $366.25 due to them ignoring me and the time I have spent pursuing a refund. I called and scheduled them to come out for repair. Early in the morning of the day they were scheduled, I called and cancelled the order. They never came to my house or made a repair. For the last year they have been dunning me for a $125 service fee for the phone call I made to them to cancel the appointment. It is now on my perfect credit score and it is absolutely ridiculous that they are allowed to do this. I received nothing from them. It was just a phone call and a cancellation. They did not give me advice or fix anything. I will take the action to get these idiots off my credit report but I shouldn't have to do that. I was extremely disappointed in the service from this company. My appointment was between 2 - 5 and I was to get a call 30 minutes ahead they were on their way. At 4:45 I did get a call and I discussed not having them come because it was so late and they would get here before 5:00. I was informed it would be a sane day cancellation charge even though they were late calling. The tech was nice enough but after spending almost an hour and a half he could not fix the problem. He did update a couple of things that probably took 15 minutes. $187 later I am back where I started from not being able to download Microsoft Office programs. (The express reason for calling) I finally told him to stop because he was going in the same circles I went through and the clock continued to tick for the bill. I had tried several times to schedule a computer repair. Finally after a month of trying the tech called me to again reschedule. I told him I no longer wanted service. They IMMEDIATELY began very aggressive collection calls even though I had complained several times. No after at least a dozen calls, they have referred it to a collection agency - also being very aggressive. I did not ever get service. I suffered through multiple rescheduling. Personally I would not give them any stars. I called for an appointment to fix the turn on button on my all-in-one computer. The technician spent 1 1/2 hours looking up how to open my computer online and then with the help of his office online he finally got it open. He said easy fix the screws fell out. I don't have those screws but I have this special tape that will hold the button in place. The first time I tried to turn on my machine it again fell inside the machine. What a waste of several hundred dollars. Oh and they keep calling to try and make another appointment to help out on my other computers. Lastly, I left a message a couple times with those who answer the phone at this company and asked to have the owner call me back.....and nope it did not happen.......HORRIBLE!!!!!!! read more

I even told them exactly what was wrong with my computer and offered to give them the serial number, etc. Refused to give me information until I paid them, and it's not even a guarantee in the end that they can fix it. Ended up going with a local company who gave me free diagnostics/quote and even though in the end they couldn't fix my computer I did let the technician keep the money I would have spent for the repair since he was so dedicated and helpful. read more

I am out of the DFW area and they sent over someone with minimal tech experience and after an hour of attempting to get my files from the laptop hard drive, we were left with a $100+ bill. I came across Stein Solutions, and was walked through with how to resolve the issue and all it took was an adapter I ordered for $10, and it took 10 minutes to get my files. The tech was very nice but their website says they are "engineers", our tech was not an engineer and spent most of time on the phone with someone he called the "engineer" who could not figure out the issues either. If I could give this company a zero rating, I would! We were having problems with our computer freezing up. Our processes were showing over 90% which slowed/froze our computer. We contacted Karls Technology and we had a technician by the name of David come out to the house on 6/17. He was quick. He was prompt and in about an hour had repaired our problem. We thought everything that our $125 we spent to fix our computer was well worth it, but it wasn't Just last week, for the first time since the service, we tried to use our scanner from the printer to scan a document that we needed to act upon right away but the scanner wouldn't work. Prior to the technician coming out, we had NEVER had an issue with the scanner. I'm guessing when the technician came out, he must have uninstalled or did something to the printer because when had left, the icons were missing. I called Karl's Technology and explained the problem. I explained to the guy what was going on and how it was working before his technician came to do the initial repair. He scheduled an appointment for the same technician to come out and see what was going on and even admitting it sounds like a print drive issue. Again this would have been something done to it when the technician was here last time. David came out and again was prompt and friendly was able to fix the scanner. The print driver program needed to be reinstalled. Before he left, he told us the service would be $130. When contacting what I assume was the owner, he seemed irritated I was calling him. I asked him why we were being charged for something one of his technicians did. I was told he couldn't be responsible for the original service since it was over two months ago. When I reminded him it had been only 30 days, he still insisted the issue was at our end and that they would not guaranty their previous work. Ultimately, I paid $130 to have them reinstall the program they neglected to reinstall in the first visit. read more

Becareful with this place. I gave them the make and model of my laptop and then asked these guys if they could fix the keyboard after I spilled some juice on it and they said "maybe". Turns out that this guy over the phone knows nothing about computers (as told to me by the service tech guy). When the service tech guy arrived to my office to take a look, he said sorry, can't really do anything because of the type of laptop I have. He was here for maybe a total of 8 minutes and charged me $125.00. For what?! All of this could have been avoided if they told me over the telephone that my laptop is not the type that this work could have been done on. It seems they knew but misled me anyways so that they can make a quick and easy buck. Never in my life have I ever felt so ripped off. What's funny is that the guy who showed up didn't even have the right tools or equipment on him to even remedy the issue. Was under the impression from conversation over phone they could recover files that were corrupted, that was main purpose of having them look at lap top. Billed for 2.75 hours $330.00 dollars for time tech spent calling their help desk, downloading and scanning things in computer to help its performance when all I wanted were the files fixed. When finished nothing seems to have improved other than a few new icons on desk top and still cannot access files exactly as before and computer acts no different than before. Do not call them just download the repair stuff from internet that's all they seem to be able to do and it will cost less. read more

This company sent a computer tech to my home to solve my server issues. They claimed that they were sending out a highly qualified individual who could solve my issue. I was willing to pay $125 for the first hour and $31.25 for each additional 15 mins. The tech continued to search the internet for answers. He voiced his confusion at not being able to fix my issue. I realized that this guy was not the highly qualified individual I was promised. I terminated the session at 1 hour and 16 minutes and he charged me an additional $31.25 even though he could not fix my server issues. These people are frauds. I left a message with them telling them that I was displeased and that I was going to leave them a bad review. They could not have been bothered to call me back. I trusted the guy I spoke to at the company when setting up the appointment. I am out of $187 with a server that still needs problem fixed. I made a mistake choosing these guys. read more

I said I wasn't sure I'd be able to get off work to make the 4 - 6pm meeting and I'd have to see my schedule at work that morning. The person told me no problem, just call in the morning to cancel if you can't make it. I called and cancelled at 9am. During that call I was told I'd have to pay a cancellation fee of $125.00. I said that wasn't possible and I was told differently. Then I asked to speak to a manager. Well he was in a meeting and never called me back. They called me 6 times after and never was it a manager. I had them come in the first time, the repair guy says it needs this part. I pay him $125 for only 40 min of work. So I go out and purchase it the hard drive and call him to come back. He shows up installs the hard drive and does his thing for about 1hr 25min and charges me $250. The next day the Computer is not working properly and I lost all my saved data. I called them I speak to someone by the name of Robert who was very sympathetic and he set up an appointment for the same technician to come out for free. Three days go by my computer is not working once again I contact her office to separate times and no one got back to me finally I called for one last time I spoke to Robert again and he had his manager contact me. The manager did not have the respect enough to call me but instead he wanted to email me back and for. I told the manager that I was very unhappy my computer is still not working either Tiz send somebody else out here or refund me at least half of my money back. He says he's going to contact the original technician and get back to me. He finally got back to me today and says that the computer needs a lot more work and unfortunately they are not going to refund me my money. I ask him why would you tell me this after I spent all that money no answer. As far as I am concerned these guys scammed me out of $375. They should've had the decency to try to compensate me for the money I spent. Had a hard drive going bad. Tech came out was on time, friendly, recovered some data and had my computer working in about an hour and a half. I was told that it may be possible to recover the missing data. It was a $250.00 deposit and it could cost me as much as $1,500.00. The first time I looked this place up, I saw multiple 5 star reviews so of course I was excited and relieved to find a trustworthy business to fix my laptop that I use for work. They did run late the first time and had to reschedule, HOWEVER, they kept me updated without over doing it the entire time. Finally, the day came and the tech was on time, explained pricing again, and got started. I had Josh W. in my home to fix my laptop. First of all, I'm uncomfortable with strangers, like diagnosed social anxiety, and he was in my space! But you know what? He was super polite and professional PLUS SUPER KIND AND LOVING WITH MY ANIMALS. He didn't mind them being out and about while he worked. He even gave my attention whore of a cat some much appreciated kitty massages while we sat and talked as my laptop did its thing. Anyway, it was just a very pleasant experience. We paid, super easy transaction, and he left. I hopped on my laptop, obviously, to check it out and it was ON AND operating faster than ever. So, I get back online to leave a review and I AM SHOCKED at the handful of bad, 1 star reviews, saying these people are a scam and just sneaky, unprofessionals.
