Was here last night with some friends after the Seahawks draft party, and I must say that I had a great experience! We had some beers, played some Pool and when we got a little hungry, we looked at the menu and there were no Nachos. The gentleman running the place last night, asked us what kind of nachos we wanted, and made them for us. 2-1, I won! Good place to play pool. My co-workers and I came here a few times to play pool and each time we had fun. They have a bar with liquor and beer. They also have panini and pizza on their menu, but do not have fries, instead tortilla chips in place. Pizza was the best. Their jukebox only has a limited selection of songs like 30; they did not have all the songs we were looking for. The bartender was pretty cool and there is space upstairs as well and about 6 pool tables. We went here before a Seahawks game and it was so fun. Bartenders are so nice and is a great addition to offer pizza! There are a ton of pool tables that you pay by the hour and depend on how many people you have. It's reasonably priced and there's no time limit (that I know of) for how long you can play. Temple Billiards is a great underrated space for playing pool and hanging out. Been here half a dozen times, and it's never been too crowded. With high ceilings and well-spaced tables, it's a good place for groups. Prices are in line with other pool joints, but with none of the attitude and scene. There is a limited food menu with a decent pizza. One interesting thing I saw was tequila from a spout. When we shoot stick, the losing team buys themselves a shot of house tequila. When we went to the bar after a loss, instead of reaching for a bottle, the bar tender poured a shot from a soda fountain spout. Weird. read more

I used to go to Onset almost every Saturday night. Onset is one of my favorite weekly's in Seattle, I've been going there for years, almost as long as it's been running. Sorry to say I can no longer support Onset because I've been 86'd from the bar. Here's the story: One Saturday night, I was there with friends, buying drinks, dancing and having a great time. I went to the downstairs bar with my friend to get another round of drinks, and while I was in line waiting to order, I asked the downstairs bartender what kind of drink he was serving to another girl. It was a blue drink and I didn't think it was an inappropriate question to ask a bartender. He said, and I quote, "It's called SHUT UP you annoying customer". Flabbergasted, me and my friend stood there, and couldn't believe what we had heard. I went upstairs to let the manager know what the downstairs bartender had said, and the manager appeared very understanding, apologized and gave me a free drink. I've spent a lot of money over the years at this bar and as a paying customer and a human being I expect to be treated with respect. I guess this bartender had something against me that I wasn't aware of. After I talked to the manager, I was back downstairs sitting on one of the couches, and the downstairs bartender walked by me and said "Oh so you had to go and narc on me, DON'T EVER COME BACK TO MY BAR AGAIN B*TCH". This time, appalled, I went back upstairs to talk to the manager. But, unfortunately the manager had left for the night, so one of the bartender's gave me the manager's card. The downstairs bartender, was standing there, and started talking sh*t. While I was trying to ask him what I had done that upset him, my boyfriend came up behind me and started defending me. This is when it got even more out of hand. One of the bartenders jumped over the counter and knocked us both to the ground. It was crowded and I had to reach up to a stranger to help me up. They then escorted both of us out of the bar. We tried to go back in there a few weeks later, and they recognized us and said we were 86'd and to never come back. This is a super big bummer because I love Onset. I'm a DJ and a huge supporter of the D&B/Dubstep scene here in Seattle, and I'm really sad I can't go back there, AND I don't even know what I did to initially offend this bartender. One day if I can get back to Onset I will delete this crappy review but for now I'm giving the lowest rating possible. Beware of the bartenders. You better smile pretty or you might get axed out. read more

This is supposed to be considered a dive, which is somewhat generally kind of out of my element but I liked it! OK... We played at the table upstairs which was nice. You can look down into the main room and it's private. It's a fun place to hang out for billiards. Wednesday is ladies night. Their prices are really reasonable by the hour. I wandered in here one afternoon for a drink. The bartender was friendly, all the pool tables were available, and you could choose to sit nearly anywhere in the place on a Wednesday afternoon. I imagine it would get a bit loud if the place was packed, but when empty it was cozy despite being such a huge place. My drinking companion and I snagged a seat upstairs (they have a pool table up one set of stairs, a little loungey area and some tables up a second set, and apparently there is a downstairs too)! It was a bit warm but since we were just there for a beer it was fine. I was informed they serve food here too and maybe next time I'm down in the area and not stuffed from lunch already I'll pop in for a panini and some pool. This is a great spot to hang out with friends before and after sporting events or just about any time they happen to be open! Temple Billiards has several pool tables, video games, and a jukebox to help keep everyone entertained, a full bar to keep everyone sauced up, and a food menu that features some really good pizzas. There's also a downstairs area which I believe is primarily used on the weekends as a dance club area with DJ music if you want to get your boogie on...or whatever the kids are calling it these days. The staff at Temple are great at keeping up with taking food and drink orders all while keeping the place looking clean and well organized. The decor is very simple which keeps the focus on having fun rather than being a distraction. If you like to have a good time, then go to Temple Billiards. read more

I love playing pool here (decent tables, decent rates, and no wait). The staff here is so mellow, the jukebox has an awesome selection, and their sandwiches are freeking tasty. The only drawback is that this place is crowded if the Deep Down Lounge has a good act, and there are a lot of people downstairs. Also, if you don't like the act that's playing, you can hear quite a bit of it upstairs. I highly recommend checking on what's playing before you head out to play some pool. Another word of caution to those arriving by car: This place tends to have no parking spots. Also, if you come at night, there tends to be some vandalism / break-ins. One of the first places I noticed catering to Seattle's new breed of start-up schlepping crowds (which are plentiful in Pioneer Square). C'mon people! We didn't have the luxury of Wi-Fi for the first dot bubble, you'd think some places might notice the influx of laptop toters this time around. Nice layout - totally friendly and attentive bartenders. A little short on seating, but you got a couch or two - and a couple of areas to put a group of a few folks together around a nice coffee table setup with room for all (laptops). Pool? Yep, plenty of it, and reasonable - and room to move, good sticks, full size tables all over the place. I'm sure other's can attest to Temple as a billiards spot - but let's break it down in the office away from the office sense. Wi-Fi isn't secure (no login), not a biggie, for some. Beggars can't be choosers, but I doubt they would mind setting up a secure network and writing the 'ol password on a chalkboard somewhere - if someone wants to help them get their shiz together. Wi-Fi is reachable anywhere in the house, and there are a few neat nooks, and a totally awesome downstairs (only open for DJs and crazy Karaoke) for those who want to take their work to a booming background and plush lounger. Do they give a crap if you saddle up and introvert for a few hours? Nope. Does anyone else? Nope. Will people talk to you if you have your laptop out? Maybe - meaning you could run into a few tech folks every once in a while. Will you see another laptop in the house? Maybe. Not often - but I have usually only been there after happy-hour. Can you leave your junk out and hit the head? Yep. No problem, in fact, you can probably camp out upstairs and spread out your Q4 board presentation, if you like. Background noise ranges from nill, to a ballgame, to jukebox, or even the previously mentioned downstairs. They have food. Pretty good too, especially the pizza. Booze and food prices are standard. Overall, a really great place that gets props for not looking at me twice, adding Wi-Fi and sticking with it for years, working perfectly into my once routine of Zeitgeist, office, Temple - repeat. read more

Great place to have a drink and have some pizza and play pool and shuffleboard - or combine all four of those into one incredibly reasonably priced office party. Seriously - I think even with 3 drinks per person (top shelf, bottom shelf, no shelf) and pizza and some snack foods and as much tables of pool playing as we had people, I think we were out of there for like $1k with 40 people. That's pretty amazing these days. Plus the owner/manager is super-nice and helpful. My only complaint is that, being winter-time, it was a tad-bit cold and by the end of our three hours I was contemplating going all 127 hrs on my toes. read more

Heavy DnB tonight son... The Upbeats are u kiddin me Always kick ass for some DnB sexiness. Match that with a pre-funk at ZigZag cafe, a hot woman who has never experienced DnB before (damn Napa Valley) accompanying me and tequila (after a 6 year hiatus).... All in all, proper debauchery once again.... 11 years of Drum and Bass reprezentin in Seattle and these hoodlums of mayhem continuously bring proper influences of poor choices on deck; at least a taxi was involved in this equation. Temple Billards, whether it is pre-funking for this years Husky home games, Onset or just some REALLY RANDOM reason to venture down to Pioneer Square, you always hit the nail on the head with the properly poured drinks, chow and tomfoolery that ensues once walking through your doors... But I can say that the place is laid back and dark, the bartenders are all VERY nice, and their baked fries are out of this world. The big thing they have going for them though are the people that frequent the place. Vary rarely do you have the "douche-bag" crew in there. I really do like this place. I do. I really really do. I've grabbed lunch here a couple of times, the first time being with the illustrious Ron M (dude, we need to get together for lunch again?). Their grilled panini sammies are hearty and super flavorful. But I do concede that I adore their pizzas. Great crust and toppings. I even was allowed to add pepperoni to their margherita pizza. Yay me! Heck, yay my tummy! Not to mention half hour of free pool when you get food, which is a great use of the time you have to wait for your food. And the guy who works there is AWESOME! This is a favorite of the Emerald City Supporters (especially after the match). The drinks are very cheap and have some pretty good pizzas. Come here to watch any soccer match as they always have Fox Soccer or GolTV on. The bartenders are very friendly and always willing to talk a little soccer and they know their stuff pretty well. Only drawback is the line to the bar can get really long at times, but it can be worth it for the great atmosphere. read more

This is a great place to go play pool. The quality of the table we played on was great. The felt was in very good shape and the rails were so responsive that you can take a little off your stroke. Good sticks in a variety of weights, and an almost complete set of stones for keeping score. The table we chose was in the corner, and the tables are at a bit of an angle to the room. so that combination made for some tight shots on on corner of the table. I love that the survey questions that Yelp puts up include "Good For Dancing." We didn't try any dancing between games, and I would guess this wouldn't be mistaken for a ballroom by anybody. The beer selection is decent, but you're here for the pool, not the beer. We came here after getting dinner so I didn't check out the food options. There are a few scattered TVs around, but this is the best place in town to watch a game. You can find street parking nearby occasionally, but don't count on it. Unfortunately, a great place to play pool doesn't turn me into a great pool player. I can sometimes play the game decently but I turned in a couple of miserable games here. read more

Great place- the only place to be on Sat night if you want to go dancing. Come as you are, and hang out on one of the couches, grab a pitcher of beer and hear great rotating and touring dj's. Half the nights are FREE before 11, and only $3 afterward. If you show up on nights where there's a touring dj you're not going to see anywhere else, they'll try to break your bank with a whopping $5. When the only other reliable DnB weekly is LSC on Thursday nights, this is the easy winner. read more

Found in the basement/downstairs area of Temple Billiards, the Deep Down Lounge is the place to go for stiff drinks, loud music and a good time. I started going there when Onset (Drum n' Bass crew) began their Saturday nights more than 3 years ago. The space isn't very big, but atmosphere is great. The sound system is powerful (sometimes too much IMO). Mixed drinks are stiff and are priced right; two LIITs (Long Island Iced Teas) and I'm right where I want to be. Go upstairs to grab a pitcher or if the line at the bar is long. Cover for most nights is $3, a little more if the talent is from out of town. Considering other covers in Pioneer Square, this is a deal. Parking is tough as the night goes on, so get there before 10pm to find a spot on the street -- AND you won't have to pay any cover. read more

Temple Billiards is a pretty good place to chill and play some pool. The tables and cues are fairly well maintained. Service is usually quite friendly, and they also offer paninis and pizza. Nothing special about the food, it's just typical bar fare. Stay away from the table in the upper level on the hot days -- it's outrageously hot and uncomfortable up there!! read more

Love this place! Don't go to Seattle too often anymore but can almost guarantee that the Temple will be on my list of places to go when I am there. The bartender David is amazing and makes some great drinks. It can be months between visits and he can still remember what I like to drink. Hey! This place! The Boy and I were touristing around in Seattle, which had changed so very much since in the 10 years since I'd left. He wanted to see the ballpark and we got thirsty, so I busted out my trusty yelp app and found this gem. And oh, what a gem. it was happy hour and we managed to snag the upstairs table...sweet! Lovely billiard hall with great, old exposed brick walls and great tables that are free to play with a purchase. We ordered a couple of happy hour drinks and played a couple games of pool. The food seems to be limited to personal sized pizzas so we didn't order any food as that didn't tickle either of our palettes at the moment. The bartenders were very friendly and quite attentive. We described what we wanted and they made us wonderful drinks to match our appetites. We will be back next time we are in Seattle. read more

I was appointed bachelorette party organizer for a bunch of Canadians coming into town. With it being last minute I was in a scramble to find an itinerary of things Frusta do. So I created my own and included this for one of the nightly celebrations, we went there and they catered our food for us, included a bunch of free drinks, we had to pool tables to ourselves and the whole area sectioned off for us. We had fun playing pool drinking a wide assortment of drinks, dancing, and celebrating my friend. The owner was very friendly or maybe he was the manager I can't recall, that would definitely recommend this place for other people looking to host a party or just to go and have fun. I mainly go here Saturday nights for the Drum & Bass show 'Onset' in the Deep Down Lounge downstairs from 10p-2a but I also enjoy shooting some pool once in a while when we're there. The staff is great, they've been there for a long time and are always nice but know how to keep a real crowd. Parking always sucks, but that is just what you get when you want to have a fun time. I think Tuesday Nights is Industrial Night, Wednesday is Ladie's Night. PS- This is the closest I'll get to Pioneer Square, it's kinda scary down there. read more

I know nothing about their billiards, other than the setup looks good. I went here before the Seahawks opener. They have an awesome location near the stadiums, and it wasn't anywhere near as packed as the other places in the area. Oh, and they make a good, spicy Bloody Mary - pickled green beans and all. They also had a decent selection of beers on tap, and their thin crust pizza looked delicious. I will definitely be back before the next game. Only con: lack of air flow. This has been our pre sounders match bar for almost 8 years now and I can't believe I haven't reviewed it! During the season it gets loud but is a very friendly crowd. The staff does a pretty good job keeping the brews flowing. I think the prices are reasonable for being in Seattle and it is a short walk from both the stadium and pre match activities. When it's not season the bar has nice pool tables and tv screens to hang out and have a cold one! read more
