This place is amazing! I absolutely love the interior design of the coffee shop. The large tables in the middle create such a great atmosphere, making it the perfect spot to study, have a quick meeting, get some work done, or simply relax and enjoy a great cup of coffee. The coffee is delicious, beautifully presented, and definitely top-notch in quality. And don't even get me started on the pastries! They have a great selection, including plenty of vegan options. Everything I tried was absolutely delicious. I even ordered some pastries to take home, including a few vegan ones, and honestly, you couldn't even tell they were vegan. They were that good! Zen, relaxing location with lots of seating. I ordered ahead using seamless and the time estimate was pretty accurate. There are some parking spots in front of the location which makes it easy for pickup. I tried the enlightenment tea - the Jasmine is lighter in tea flavor than I usually like, but the frothed up milk makes it more elevated than a tea made at home. The ice latte with oat milk, on the other hand, is EXCEPTIONAL. Incredibly smooth, I savored every sip. Pricey, but nothing out of the ordinary nowadays unfortunately. We went here Saturday morning after a full day of traveling the day before. I ordered their coffee cake donut. Wow is all I have to say! The flavors were so good. I also ordered their campfire sing along. Now that was a delicious coffee. Service was great as well and very clean inside. This Temple serves up the same amazing selection of coffee and tea drinks that the other Temple Coffees in town do. As typical with Temple Coffee, the quality of the drinks are top notch and really is the gold standard in Sacramento. Prices are on the higher side for these premium selections so be aware of that if you haven't been to a Temple before. This location is a bit smaller and has less unique features than other ones. It's perfectly serviceable for a cafe, but the ambiance isn't on par when you compare them. The service, however, was superb. I found the baristas there to be very friendly and warm. It's hard to go wrong with Temple, and if you/re looking for a great coffee drink and near this one, it's certainly worth the visit! read more

From the reviews, I had high expectations and was completely let down. The ambiance is beautiful, I'll give it that, but the drinks are not a reflection of that. When you walk in, unlike other coffee shops, you order directly with the barista and then move to the cashier, which is interesting. I ordered an iced matcha latte with white chocolate (they only have it in powder form). Iced Matcha Latte with White Chocolate ($7.75): The drink was basically milk with a slight hint of matcha. It was very weak, I could barely taste the matcha, and I couldn't taste the white chocolate either. For an almost $8 drink, I was expecting more. They were kind enough to give me an extra shot of matcha, but even then, it still tasted weak. I didn't even finish the drink, that's how disappointing it was. Overall, I wouldn't recommend this place, at least not for the matcha. read more

I've been to the Temple near UC Davis and it was so cute and magical had to stop by here! Noticed they offer matcha and wanted to check it out, i felt it wouldnt be japanese matcha style im used to bc thats how it is at big American coffee chains. I did ask if it was ceremonial and they said yes. But the taste wasn't like the asian japanese matcha stores in the Bay. It was still nice and u can adjust sweetness level. I went with 3/4 oz sweetener and i think i would go with 1/2 oz for the "not too sweet". Overall solid and cute vibe inside and yummy looking pastries! Recommend! read more

I always try to visit one Temple coffee shop when I visit Sacramento because the service and quality of the coffee is unparalleled. It is in the perfect location near Kimpton Sawyer hotel. As expected, the service and recommendations were excellent and my friend was impressed by their coffee bean varieties. Their desserts/pastries were fresh - I got their seasonal fruit pastry. The Mexican mocha was sweet, but not too overpowering. The fresh whipped cream was delicious and didn't melt too quickly in the hot drink. Only criticism was its decoration. I've seen other locations with more artistic interest, but it's a great spot for working. Saw many people with laptops and in meetings. read more

This is such a cute coffee shop and it's nice that it's open late. We wanted to go to a bar for a drink, but the vibes were all off. We stumbled upon Temple by accident. We decided to go inside because it seemed lively and clean. The barista on Thursday night around 9pm was so sweet. I wish I got her name. We ordered a Mexican hot chocolate, single espresso shot, and a cappuccino for drinks. She greeted us kindly and asked for our orders, so she can start them quickly. The other worker on the register was also very kind and welcoming. She asked us if we wanted any pastries to enjoy. We ended up getting the tiramisu. It was amazing. Beautiful coffee bar lined with their coffee beans, two ginormous wooden communal tables, and the staff are welcoming while they focus intently on their craft. Coffee prices are higher at Temple compared to some competitors but it's worth treating yourself to a quality cup of coffee and being in a zen state of mind while sipping it at one of their seats. Such a great, cozy spot with an amazing atmosphere. The staff is super friendly and really brings a positive, energetic vibe to the place. One thing I especially appreciated is how they treat pets. It's clear they care, every dog that came in got a treat, which was a really nice touch. The coffee is excellent, not over-roasted like in a lot of places. While you're waiting in line, they even offer samples, which is awesome. I had a latte with regular milk and was very happy with it. As for the food, the bacon and onion croissant really stood out, very tasty ( though I imagine it would be even better warm ). The caramel apple cheesecake was also incredible, delicious and not overly sweet, even though the name might make you think otherwise. Temple is amazing not only does it have a good ambience for studying, but it does have a really good staff lineup. I feel like the ladies that were there were super helpful and understood the type of drink I wanted because sometimes going to a new coffee shop is a hit or miss, especially when Matcha and coffee always have different flavors to them. This location is located near downtown Sacramento so you'd need to find street parking around the area. However, I was able to find a parking spot just around the corner right away. The store has ample seating with really simple and wooden decor, and there wasn't a lot of people when we arrived around 10am. My friend usually like their expresso, but they had a seasonal menu with drinks made with homemade ginger syrup, so decided to go with a ginger latte (without whip cream), which I really enjoyed. The flavors were subtle but it wasn't too sweet which was a plus for me. Apparently they usually have a lot of pastries on Sunday mornings, but somehow that day they were busy, so by the time we went, the pastry cabinet was pretty much empty. We got the latte and one of their seasonal offerings which was a cherry coke cold brew with cherry foam on top. The latte was delicious and they made a pretty heart design on it. It's about a five minute walk from the court house. I got a small medium roast drip coffee and a chocolate chip cookie. Both were delicious. It's always joy to have a really good cup of coffee! The Inside is modern with long community-style tables in the center, a leather padded bench-style seating against one wall with single tables and chairs, and bar-style seating looking out to the street. I visit cappuccino joints all over the country because I am a professional pilot and that's what I do on the mornings when I'm not flying. So having said that and the fact that I have a home espresso set up and do my own Cortado's every day I think this place ranks very high. The Cortado had silky, smooth milk and a very nice chocolatey Rich Deep flavor. It doesn't get any better than that. I also like the latte Art. A barista has to have latte Art in order to get a top rating in this place has it. The baristas here know their stuff. Not only that, but they like to make conversation with the customers in a lively manner, twinkling in the eye eyebrows, going up and down hands, waving with coffee cups being zipped back-and-forth in front of the machine and slamming the group had to empty the puck all while carrying on a fun good morning style conversation.! The atmosphere is very nice open airy lots of tables, people sitting around with computers, doing their morning work probably kind of a place where if you're lonesome in your house you can go and get out among people like you're in a living room with a family.
