Pachamama has been my go-to for the last couple of years whenever I find myself in the Capital City visiting my grandparents who live nearby! The location of this café can't be beat - as it serves as a hidden gem for those who want organic & fair trade coffee. Don't let the small parking lot & scrambling for on-street parking deter you from checking this place out! Did I say they have clean restrooms, and a huge room to sit down and work/study your day away during the hours that they're open?! Love their aesthetic vibes & hospitable atmosphere - due to the scent of espresso and the delicate blue hue of the ceiling. Art adorn the walls with the faces of coffee farmers smiling down at me from one of the walls, and cups with latte art that line the countertop next to the bar. My usual pick me up is their nitro cold brew; however, I find myself getting a 2nd drink from their seasonal menu that varies throughout the year! I definitely love their matcha beverages, as I feel that they're a step above the matcha drinks you get at the usual coffee chains, and let alone that the farmer-to-customer connection is surreal in bringing high-quality coffee to the Sacramento metro and beyond! While it is true that the beverages at Pachamama are priced slightly above other coffee chains and mom and pop shops around Sacramento, they are, in my opinion, truly worth the cup that you're about to enjoy! (or a bag of beans) lol. The virtuosity of the company's mission, the obvious care with which they handle their product and the quick and quality service all work to create a model for what I believe all coffee companies should strive to be: a business that prioritizes ethical sourcing and worker compensation at every step along the way. The cold brew is excellent and they offer a nice selection of pastries, including vegan options. The only quirk is that the pastries aren't usually on display or listed on a menu. You have to ask the staff what's available, which is a bit strange. First time for a coffee shop for me. Their private lot is quite small, so you'll likely need to find street parking. My friend and I needed a quick caffeine fix Saturday morning before my daughter's Jiu Jitsu class and decided on Pachamama Coffee. I had never been to this location - only the one in Davis and really enjoyed the coffee I had there. The inside is a roughly the same size as the Davis location, but parking is kind of a pain. The parking lot is really small so street parking if you can find it is your best bet. We ordered The Honeybear and an Iced Vanilla Latte - my daughter also wanted one of their Strawberry Almond Scones which she said was dry. It was a little dry because most scones are, but the flavor was pretty good. My friend and I both enjoyed our coffees and it was the perfect pick me up that we needed. The inside was modern and minimal and the staff were friendly. The coffee came out very quickly - we were both actually shocked. I'm sure I'll be back again soon as the coffee was pretty good. I came here on a Saturday morning with a girlfriend to try a new (to us!) coffee spot. We both got iced oat milk lattes. The lattes were so creamy, my friend got four shots in hers, and there was no bitterness from the coffee. Also, they care about the planet. They did not use plastic cups! I also tried a strawberry almond scone, which was just okay. They also had a really nice list of fall drinks. The shop has a lovely seating area with plenty of tables, perfect for working, studying, or catching up with a friend or coworker. Parking can be a bit tricky; there's a small lot with about five or six spots, but I recommend parking on J Street, where you'll find two-hour free parking. Note that there's no parking allowed on the residential streets nearby. The staff at Pachamama were welcoming, and friendly. Overall, a cozy spot with great coffee! Holy molyyyyy!!!! This coffee ruined my whole life because I will never find another coffee place as good as this one. This is such a late review but I've been here a few times and both experiences were good. It's a small and limited coffee shop so I anticipate it gets busy during the weekends. I tried their Lavender latte and Blueberry Matcha. Both were good but lavendar was more on the lighter side. however, the matcha came out the winner. This has been my go to spot for a variety of whole coffee beans, for about a year and a half now. But for some time now, I've been getting a significant amount of coffee grounds in my drinks; to the point that I expect it now. I don't know if it's a cleaning issue, or an overfill of the portafilter cup. But the issue has started getting annoying and shouldn't be an issue. Unfortunately I'm more inclined now to just toss the remainder of my drink, vs drinking a gritty Espresso drink. This isn't something I've come across at the other Pachamama locations, but I also rarely frequent those area locations. Overall: Might it be time to find a new regular coffee spot for beans and drinks? It might be. The appeal of Pachamama for us was the assortment of good whole coffee beans, plus the free drink with the refill of our coffee container. Which typically goes along with ordering a 2nd drink as well, but if I'm going to now just be tossing a good portion of $7+ coffee. Because there's coffee grinds in it, it might be time to forgo the free drink appeal, and look at one of the many other local coffee shop & roasters for whole beans & drinks. read more

Pachamama is hands down my favorite coffee shop in Sacramento so far! Everytime I come here, I feel at peace and it's nice seeing familiar baristas! It makes it feel very welcoming. Parking can be more difficult but there's plenty of seating inside (yes outlets and yes wifi). I like that there are big windows too so you can get some natural light in. I've tried a couple of their drinks but usually end up ordering honeybear latte. Drinks usually range from $6-7 depending on adjustments. We have been to pachamama many many times, the J street location is a bit more laid back than the midtown location, with more room for parking and a separate area with tables and chairs. This is a great spot to get some work done or study. The coffee is next level, the fact that they are a co-op and have amazing relationships with their farmers really helps. The coffee beans are such good quality, we always love picking up a few different bags to try. The OG honeybear is probably their best drink, we love trying their seasonal stuff too. read more

I was visiting Sacramento for work and decided to try Pachamama based on a Yelp! search. It was a bit of a drive from where I was staying and when I arrived the small parking lot was full. Not knowing the area, I noticed the streets surrounding required a permit to park, so I ended up having to park about half a mile away. Not a big issue, but on a chilly day in high heels it wasn't ideal. The inside is a bit plain and the menu minimalistic. I asked the barista about their chai, which he said was on the milder side. I like a spicy chai, so I opted for the Honey Bear latte with almond milk. My coffee was up within a matter of a few minutes and I was on my way. If desired, there is a space to the left of the main area with tables to work remotely. My drink was good, nothing too fancy but it did the job. read more

Lady gave off the vibe as if i ruined her day by coming in. Not rude, just the vibe of her not wanting to be there made me almost not want to be in there. Now with the coffee. Excellent cold brew, very vibrant, medium roast, hint of cherry, cinnamon from a bark and cacao nibs. i give the taste a 4.5. But im not sure of the science behind these cold brews being served in biodegradable paper cups. I don't think it enhances the flavors. I get the go green movement, but it's something different about a cold brew in a plastic cup. I prefer cold brews in a plastic cup. If you're going to have plastic straws, just provide a plastic cup with a lid option. read more

I haven't really delved into the coffee scene in Sac and honestly I'm a bit overwhelmed lol. So many options! Decided to check out this particular coffee spot this time. The cold brew tasted pretty standard but the cardamom rose latte, one of the current seasonal drinks, was a real treat! The cardamom and rose flavors in the latte complemented really well with each other. Very floral taste altogether and as its menu description says it's the perfect spring drink (or at least latte specifically). I got it iced but I think it's better hot; I was running errands and I was enjoying the drink more the warmer the drink got. I visited here on a Sunday morning. Super chill vibes. Nice-looking communal seating room with a lot of natural lighting. Finding parking wasn't much of a problem; the tiny lot right out front was filled but I found easy street parking within really close walking distance.
