Club sandwich w/fries
Greg P.

My lady and I were on an errand up in Scottsdale and decided to pop in for an early lunch and to say hi to owner Reggie. My lady enjoyed the homemade quiche so much on a prior visit, she ordered it again and thoroughly enjoyed it as much as the first time. I had my usual club sandwich, but this time Reggie served it with battered fries which were hot, crispy and very good! Had another great experience at Temptations Cafe, thanks Reggie!

Country fried steak

Pleasantly surprised at this diner. We chose this location not only because it was close to our hotel but they serve country fried steak and corn beef hash. Let me tell ya, both did not disappoint. Both came out just slightly crispy on the outside and the portion sizes were perfect. Their home style potatoes were also just slightly crispy too. We had a large group and they were able to sort the tables inside to fit our party of 10. I would say maybe the inside could fit 30 which includes the counter seating. They also have an outdoor patio. We ordered some drinks but they recommended us the Coffee Jelly. Think of a Boba drink but with iced coffee and coffee like jelly. To pair with that, they make these Silvanas, a cashew meringue cookie with buttercream in the middle. It was delicious. Reggie, the owner was classically trained in Europe and all of his desserts was made in house. Let me tell ya, he was super friendly and we chatted a bit. I was given a slice of his pumpkin cheesecake. OM Gee , so good and so light! There is a UBE flan on the menu for pre-order. I would've totally gotten that if I was staying the week! So to sum, excellent service and wonderful desserts with classic diner food made perfectly. They have a outside patio seating as well and parking is on the shared lot. Will be back when I'm in town again!

Good spot no wait when we went. Very small but can tell it's mostly locals which we loved. My wife and I ordered breakfast and it was good just wish the bacon was better and they came around more for coffee refills besides that amazing ambiance, great people, great atmosphere.

Scotch Eggs, delicious!

Unbelievably good, cooked perfectly. Very crispy hash browns, tasty and tender pork chops and the Scotch eggs and cheesecake and silbanas were absolutely delicious. Save room for dessert. Great friendly service too!

This place is so welcoming. The owners are amazing individuals. We don't come here as often as we'd like because we live so far, but when we do make the journey, Temptations Cafe never disappoints! From the decor, to the ambiance, the food, and the conversation. Their desserts are my favorite! All baked in-house from scratch and super fresh! My favorites from here are the carrot and ginger soup, ube flan, and the tuna melt. Also, the chai latte and iced pecan latte are EPIC. This place makes you feel at home. 5 stars, well deserved! Note: This is a small diner. If you plan to sit in here for long with just coffee, it's probably wise to be mindful of the establishment and not take up seats for those that are dining in. Just food for thought. ‍

This hidden cafe is a true gem. An American cafe with Euro Asian influence. The food is incredible, it's like fine dining restaurant quality of food with a tiny cafe feel and pricing. This is one of those restaurants that you have to love. Mom and pops shop but outstanding food and even better people! The first ever SYLVANA I've experienced and wow it was life changing. It's now a necessity! The chicken a la pobre was magical and the scotch eggs... I can't even explain it was so good.

Loved this place! What a gem! Service was great, and food was amazing. Worth coming on Sundays to have their Philipino breakfast special. Excellent experience. I'll be back again.

We enjoyed ourselves here. Very welcoming and friendly. The food was yummy! The silvanas dessert was delicious!

Country Breakfast

Hands down best coffee in the city! The food was amazing, and the service was top notch. Check out their authentic Filipino pastries while you're there!

The employee overcharged me then was very rude when I called him out. The coffee is not good, either.

We were setup in a separate dining area from the main dining room, which allowed for better conversation without added noise. Our waitress was very friendly and attentive the entire time we were there, which was a couple hours. The milk bread is an absolute must! It's so pillowy soft and the flaky sea salt perfectly compliments it. I ordered the Wise Decision cocktail, which was refreshing. For my entree, I had the shishito Caesar salad and was advised I could add a protein from their skewer selection of chicken, pork belly or oyster mushrooms. I asked the waitress about the chicken and she advised that they are smoked and will appear pink from that, so not to be alarmed, but are moist and really flavorful. While the filet was tempting (and what everyone else at my table ordered), I wanted something lighter. Thankfully I was not disappointed in my selection. The chicken was as delicious as described and could be cut with a fork. The Caesar salad was well dressed, but not soggy. Do I think it was worth the money to add the chicken? Not if I were paying, but since my company paid for it, I think it was worth it. This is a great spot for a date night or special occasion.

The milk bread and cast iron Brie were insane, I would totally recommend to get one each for the table to share. We got the bone in short rib and were pleasantly surprised with how much meat was on the bone and how easily it fell apart. Another absolutely amazing food experience from Chef Nobuo Fukuda who already gifted us with great…read moredishes made with Sonoran produce at SeeSaw back in the 90's, and Teeter House downtown. The retro-vibed atmosphere of the Papago Motor Inn complements the laid back pace of your meal. This is not a sushi spot or an Izakaya. Hai Noon is a chef presenting southwestern ingredients in a most respectful, flavorful and innovative manner. I was lucky enough to return 3 times in the past month. To my surprise, ingredients and sauces did not repeat themselves, and dishes were completely distinct in flavor and presentation. This is definitely my favorite food experience of the past few years...anywhere. All of our visits were handled by our waiter/guide "Arizona", who described dishes, and when asked what his favorites were (and unlike many other places that say everything is good when it isn't), he informed us we would love everything, but he could help us with the order we ate them, and suggest a sampling if we were just picking out a half dozen dishes. He was right. Everything was captivating, surprising and...absolutely delicious. Do not miss the specials...there will be 4 or 5 on a small piece of paper, and a couple of "special" drinks. These are seasonal items the chef wants to add because of the timing and presentation. They exemplify the category...they are indeed, SPECIAL. The second visit established a pattern. Have Arizona order, until you are full. He checked in with us along the way, and made a few modifications based on our hunger level, and allowing for certain dishes to be repeated. A few things really stood out because I hadn't tasted anything quite like those dishes. Other dishes ie: variations on classic aguachile, were just better than anything I've had elsewhere. Salmon and Whitefish carpaccios were both stellar, with really good hot sesame oil adding to the dish's garlic, ginger and Yuzu base. And, when you are done with the last bite of fish, they bring out rich, grilled slices of bread to mop up that sauce. We last started with Sashimi featuring Sea Bream, that had fatty belly, and less fatty but oh-so-flavorful filet slices, and an accompanying broth. Big Eye Tuna was served on a flavorful beet puree with sweet dark cherry wine notes. Since we didn't read the menu's notes before, a quick check showed that Nobuo does create a Pinot Noir reduction that invites wiping the plate clean. The first time, the Tuna and all traces of the puree were finished by the time Arizona walked out to describe the dish for us. That's why I re-ordered it each time we visited. Soup spoons present a sashimi/ceviche/aguachile experience that is delicate, nuanced, complex and downright spectacular in your mouth. Whether it showcased an oyster, hamachi or kampachi, each spoon was an amazing taste experience with complementing flavors and textures that were completely unexpected. Softshell Crab with cold noodles was the most succulent Softshell crab I have ever enjoyed, warm, beautifully moist and flavor popping within its crispy exterior, set off by the chilled vinegar and broth accented noodles. Brussel Sprouts with a honey mustard and wasabi glaze disappeared immediately. As it turns out, wasabi is the missing ingredient in many Brussel Sprout dishes! The Yams with goat cheese and Fresno chiles reminded me of the amazing fire-grilled gourds and yam dishes I have had at Bacanora...just unique and different. Two Wash chicken was beautifully caramelized finger food that I could also have made a meal out of. We thought it was amazing, and then the chef came out and told us how inspired he was when he first met the chicken farmers and cooked with their chicken, and if possible, the chicken became even more memorable for the story and connection. Curry marinated lamb was rich, and savory, and was another dish I could make a meal out of. The Pork Belly and Mushroom rice was likewise delicious, and full or deep umami richness and delectable meat and mushroom morsels. The Mushrooms en papillote (mushrooms served in paper), had absorbed what tasted like a delicious Veal Stock, were tastily caramelized, and then steamed in the paper container. They were so good we had to have another...and we weren't skimping on food. Beverages (Alcoholic and non) get the same attention. The cocktail list sounds absolutely crazy, with improbable ingredients. But all of the ones we sampled work, and they are wonderful (sharing amongst our table, we have now tried over half of the cocktails...and so far, they are damn great drinks). The beer selection is small and ideal for the food, as are the well-chosen cold sakes that span all budgets. It is better with a small group of people so you can really explore the breadth of fabulous offerings, but I think it's also an amazing spot to share food on a date!

I could eat this every day and never get sick of it. Melts in your mouth. A must order. Wouldn't recommend: the salmon sashimi. The salmon was room temperature/a little warm which threw me off and made it tough to enjoy. Maybe a cold plate for serving would help combat this! The flavor was there, but the temperature made me nervous. Maybe order: the yams. For me, it had way too much topping in a small bowl, which made it overwhelming. Some of the yams were undercooked, but there is a lot of potential for this dish!

There is plenty of bar space if you're popping in for a drink.. of course, the actual bar that runs along the shelves of liquor, and there is also a bar on the other side of a roll-up door, perfect for people who come with dogs. There's also a bar space that runs along the window that separates the small dining room and the patio. There are a few tables inside as well as some bigger tables on the patio. The patio is nice with lots of shrubs right outside the rail. The murals on the wall are pretty darn cool - - they're like enlarged historic photos of the area. I love them! And I'm not sure who's giant face is hanging on the ceiling but it's short a spark conversation. The menu here has a little something for everyone. There's the regular loaded fries and wings, salads, and a nice election burgers. We ordered the Philly Salad and the Very Summer Salad with a side order of fries. They make their own ranch, and it is good. I will say they don't seem to skim on salad ingredients either - - the Philly salad was covered with shaved beef, and my berry salad had a lot of chicken and tons of blue cheese. The fries were delicious - - slightly seasoned and crispy. This place is clearly dog friendly. In fact the day we went there was a sweet Pitbull named Daisy who literally hopped up on a bar stool and sat there like a little angel the entire time. The bar had a dog full of water that they sat down on the counter next to her owner's beer. They also have dog biscuits to give. It made my day to see that sweet little dog hanging at the bar having a treat. This really is kind of a spot that feels like it's probably the hangout spot of many people.
