    Club sandwich w/fries

My lady and I were on an errand up in Scottsdale and decided to pop in for an early lunch and to say hi to owner Reggie. My lady enjoyed the homemade quiche so much on a prior visit, she ordered it again and thoroughly enjoyed it as much as the first time. I had my usual club sandwich, but this time Reggie served it with battered fries which were hot, crispy and very good! Had another great experience at Temptations Cafe, thanks Reggie!

Pleasantly surprised at this diner. We chose this location not only because it was close to our hotel but they serve country fried steak and corn beef hash. Let me tell ya, both did not disappoint. Both came out just slightly crispy on the outside and the portion sizes were perfect. Their home style potatoes were also just slightly crispy too. We had a large group and they were able to sort the tables inside to fit our party of 10. I would say maybe the inside could fit 30 which includes the counter seating. They also have an outdoor patio. We ordered some drinks but they recommended us the Coffee Jelly. Think of a Boba drink but with iced coffee and coffee like jelly. To pair with that, they make these Silvanas, a cashew meringue cookie with buttercream in the middle. It was delicious. Reggie, the owner was classically trained in Europe and all of his desserts was made in house. Let me tell ya, he was super friendly and we chatted a bit. I was given a slice of his pumpkin cheesecake. OM Gee , so good and so light! There is a UBE flan on the menu for pre-order. I would've totally gotten that if I was staying the week! So to sum, excellent service and wonderful desserts with classic diner food made perfectly. They have a outside patio seating as well and parking is on the shared lot. Will be back when I'm in town again!

Good spot no wait when we went. Very small but can tell it's mostly locals which we loved. My wife and I ordered breakfast and it was good just wish the bacon was better and they came around more for coffee refills besides that amazing ambiance, great people, great atmosphere.

Unbelievably good, cooked perfectly. Very crispy hash browns, tasty and tender pork chops and the Scotch eggs and cheesecake and silbanas were absolutely delicious. Save room for dessert. Great friendly service too!

This place is so welcoming. The owners are amazing individuals. We don't come here as often as we'd like because we live so far, but when we do make the journey, Temptations Cafe never disappoints! From the decor, to the ambiance, the food, and the conversation. Their desserts are my favorite! All baked in-house from scratch and super fresh! My favorites from here are the carrot and ginger soup, ube flan, and the tuna melt. Also, the chai latte and iced pecan latte are EPIC. This place makes you feel at home. 5 stars, well deserved! Note: This is a small diner. If you plan to sit in here for long with just coffee, it's probably wise to be mindful of the establishment and not take up seats for those that are dining in. Just food for thought. ‍

This hidden cafe is a true gem. An American cafe with Euro Asian influence. The food is incredible, it's like fine dining restaurant quality of food with a tiny cafe feel and pricing. This is one of those restaurants that you have to love. Mom and pops shop but outstanding food and even better people! The first ever SYLVANA I've experienced and wow it was life changing. It's now a necessity! The chicken a la pobre was magical and the scotch eggs... I can't even explain it was so good.

We enjoyed ourselves here. Very welcoming and friendly. The food was yummy! The silvanas dessert was delicious!

Loved this place! What a gem! Service was great, and food was amazing. Worth coming on Sundays to have their Philipino breakfast special. Excellent experience. I'll be back again.

Hands down best coffee in the city! The food was amazing, and the service was top notch. Check out their authentic Filipino pastries while you're there!

We brought family from out of town and had a party of 11 (six adults and five kids). There was a long wait, which we completely understood. We spent the time at the bar where the service was excellent, and the kids browsed the nearby shops. Unfortunately, once we were seated, the experience went downhill. Our server seemed to have little sense of urgency. Everything took an unusually long time, but the biggest issue was the food, which took well over an hour despite being a very simple order of burgers, sandwiches, and other basic menu items. Throughout the wait, we watched tables seated after us receive their food and leave while we were still waiting. The most frustrating part was the lack of communication. Rather than checking in or providing an update, our server was frequently visible chatting with coworkers and rolling silverware. When our food finally arrived, it was at best room temperature, making it seem like it had been sitting for quite a while before being brought to the table. We asked to speak with a manager, who said she would look into it, but never returned to follow up. That lack of acknowledgment or accountability was even more disappointing than the delay itself. We declined the offer of dessert because we needed to get the kids home, yet instead of bringing the check promptly, our server spent additional time clearing the table before finally processing our payment. As someone who has worked as a server, I understand that delays happen and kitchens get backed up. What makes the difference is communication, ownership, and making guests feel like their time matters. None of that happened here. It's unfortunate because we've had good experiences in the past, but this visit left us embarrassed that we chose this restaurant to host visiting family.

When I told the server, he replaced it, but didn't give everyone new glasses. Only me. My friend ordered a wrap and asked for it to be gluten free. The person who brought the food told her that it was gluten free. The server, who had taken the order, came back and told her it wasn't gluten free. He told her he'd replace it and take it off of her bill. It took her forever to get the new wrap. And when she got the bill, he hadn't removed it from her tab.

This review is for the totality of the experience…read more I made an advance reservation at Alma Scottsdale for a mid-sized group of 7 to celebrate a special occasion. Our party arrived right on time for our reservation, but we were not seated until 15 min later because our table was not ready. It took about an additional 15 min to get tap water for the table (there was not enough provided anyways), and to place our orders too another ~20 min. The food did not arrive until 30 min later. For context, we eventually learned that the restaurant was short staffed and the bartender was also operating as our waiter. When the food finally arrived, there was a mix-up on what was delivered. We had checked with the staff who delivered one of the dishes: we ordered the "wild mushroom" side, but what we received did not look quite like it. We asked clarifying questions x2, but were assured, "no, it is the wild mushroom." Turned out, it was the mushroom empanada that was delivered to our table, which we originally did not order. The management did rectify the situation upon the conclusion of the event when we were paying the bill, but to us, it felt a bit accusatory as if we intentionally wanted to cause a huge fuss about the final total, which was absolutely not the case. The food in general was delicious. If this was a more standard dining experience, it would have been 4-5 stars just for the food. The service was very subpar, and really colored the entire experience negatively, therefore the two star review. I understand that staffing shortages happen -- fine. My family has worked in food service as wait staff for 25+ YEARS, so I am empathetic. But for management to ring up our bill and then come confront us in an inflammatory manner, making us feel like we were wrong, on an occasion to celebrate something special, was extremely disappointing.

We both got skinny margaritas, and they were really good. You could actually taste the tequila and fresh ingredients rather than an overly sweet margarita mix. We both ordered the Breakfast Burrito for $14, which comes with housemade chicken sausage, roasted potatoes, scrambled eggs, green chilis, mozzarella, cheddar, and fire-roasted tomato salsa. We also got ketchup on the side. The burrito was delicious and very reasonably priced. The staff explained that they focus on fresh, locally sourced, high-quality ingredients, and you could definitely taste the quality. The ambiance was great too. I loved the wood details throughout the restaurant, everything looked clean and well maintained, and the atmosphere was warm and inviting. My only disappointment is that there isn't an Amelia's closer to me because I would absolutely visit often. I hope they're able to maintain the quality and local feel because the food, ingredients, service, and atmosphere really stood out. Definitely looking forward to coming back!

One of my favorite things about Amelia's is their commitment to using high-quality ingredients. They're seed oil-free, their fries are cooked in beef tallow, and I left feeling so good after my meal knowing exactly what I was putting into my body. The place was buzzing with loud electronic music and tons of people dining -- I think because the ceiling is so high the noise is amplified. Because it was so busy it took a while for the server to come over but he did with waters which was nice but then the menus are all on QR codes -- which is annoying because it is hard to look at everything and because the menu is very confusing it would have been nice to see everything on paper. The menu is confusing because the selections are very odd -- I thought it was a mexican-asian/sushi fusion restaurant -- which I guess it is but it was still really hard to create the best food experience when I couldn't see everything available. My friend was hungry so she immediately put in an order for calamari and I was being called to order the blood orange margarita slushie. When the margarita came it was like nothing I have ever seen before. It looked more like a milkshake or like a creamsicle. I dove in thinking it would be too sweet but it was actually quite delicious and I sucked it back in a second! Also I put in an order for the edamame which sounded really good in the description -- "woodfired" and spicy miso butter -- but when they came they were really spicy and the woodfired element was making me cough, strangely enough -- I couldn't finish them! Finally after waiting forever we got the drinks and apps. It then took another 15 minutes to order our food. Again it was busy and my friend and I were catching up so it wasn't a big deal. We wanted a fairly light dinner so we just ordered one roll -- the Fuego, which had yellowtail and a whitefish, chili, cilantro and cucumber plus a pico de gallo on top -- it was very flavorful -- although a bit spicy for those who are spice wimps like me. Overall, thought it was a good meal but wasn't blown away.
