    "Tuna" slice. Yuck
    Amanda D.

Every time I try to give this place a chance. It is just not it. Came in by myself recently, saw it wasn't crazy busy & there was a table by the sushi bar so went in to treat myself to dinner. Started off with a hot tea, probably the highlight of my meal tbh. With that I ordered a kani salad & gyoza to start. The kani salad was just drowning in soggy tempura flakes. Have the entire thing the weirest texture. They should have just pt some on top, felt like they made this in advance with the flakes so of course they would be soggy. The gyoza were fine, nothing special but also not the worst I've had. For sushi I got the Pink Lady: Spicy crunchy tuna, mango on the inside. Topped with tuna. The inside of the roll was fine. The tuna on top was such a mess & honestly a disgrace to sushi. The "tuna" on top was chopped up previously & then they tried to form it back into a tuna slice???? Completely falling apart & definitely old fish because it wasn't nearly as fresh as the tuna in the spicy tuna inside the roll. Would never order again. I always try to support local, but after all the chances I've given this place will not be coming back. Hopefully they start to do better.

Was seated right away on a Wednesday night. Outside a seating was full since it was a very comfortable evening. Inside had much space and was nicely air conditioned. Servers were polite, friendly and attentive. They gave us time to review the menu, checked back to see if and when we would be ready and took our order at the appropriate time. Food came quite quickly and they introduced each dish so we would know what was what. Yes, we ordered and should know what we ordered but we had several rolls so knowing which was which is important. Each roll had its own unique flavor profile meaning not everything tasted the same, as what can happen elsewhere. Portions were on the slightly small side hence the slightly lower score. There was only four of us for dinner. We order fried calamari, a bowl of udon, an appetizer of seared salmon, sushi platter and 6 specialty rolls. We finished all but about one roll worth of food. We were satisfied but not stuffed- which is what I mean by small portions.

Absolutely delicious and fast delivery - tempura, sushi platter, sushi rolls and cod platter.... it was so good! The fish wasn't slimy and very firm - flavorful! The cod was delicious and travelled well! I would order here again next time! They have quality fish and it is fresh

Just wow been coming here at least three times a month the sushi chefs are so generous they always give us a taste of something they feel is delicious and they'll make any roll without rice carb free awesome!!!

This establishment had very delicious food for early dinner in beautiful Parkslope. The out door dinning was great with everyone following covid 19 protocols. Everyone had masks on, social distancing was perfect and hand sanitizer was available upon entering the restaurant to use the restroom and in the restrooms. My salmon teriyaki with veggies was excellent. The fish was made perfectly medium rear with a lovely Medley of vegetables. The crab dumplings were lovely the dough to create this appetizers were scrumptious the crab meat was awesome very fresh. The dragon roll was yummy. I love the veggies combine with the crispy crab meat. Please note this meal was shared with my sweet hubby. Everyone stay safe and healthy, we are in this together.

First time I ate at Ten, my party of two dined in. I remember liking the interior of the restaurant: it felt comfortable and classy, not too upscale as to be pretentious, with a pleasant atmosphere. That's important to me. Having enjoyed the food that first time around, I decided today to give them another shot for delivery. My girlfriend and I went for the Triple Sushi combo (3 pcs each tuna, salmon & yellowtail nigiri + spicy salmon roll + salad), an eel+avocado roll, and a crunchy salmon roll. Such is a feast fit for kings. Our meal arrived in a timely fashion, and we opened the packaging to find everything we had hoped for. The fish today was moderately fresh, a bit above average, if nothing to write home about. We gleefully devoured it all. It's worth eating here if you want a predictable, reasonably priced sushi meal. Don't expect anything super special or mind-blowing; just trust your intuition about what sounds good.

Honestly an okay place to get sushi if you live around the area and don't feel like traveling to get sushi. I've been coming here for sushi on and off for a few years, basically whenever we want to grab something and don't want to wait for a table. They always seem to have tables so not sure if that's a sign regarding their food. I've tried most of their fancy rolls and over the years, the fish ingredients has shrunk and the fillers becoming more overwhelming. Most of their rolls are starting to sound alike. The sashimi quality is decent but they cut them quite thin. Market price Toro was $12 for 2pc sashimi but you can tell it's really 1pc sliced in half. It was good, nice and buttery, but not sure if it was worth it. Uni was also good, very fresh and sweet. Had a piece of white fish that was rubbery so that was bad and a piece of salmon that tasted too mushy. Overall, an ok place to get traditional rolls if you don't want to travel or wait but definitely not a memorable place to enjoy sushi.

We were pleasantly surprised at how beautiful the small, intimate space of Che was. Despite the small size, the restaurant has table, bar and outside seating, so you can't go wrong. We chose to sit inside and were warmly greeted by the server who made recommendations and allowed us to try the weekly wines. If you're a vinophile with a funky palette, this is a must. I had a skin contact wine while my partner had the jungle bird cocktail which was INCREDIBLE. We then shared the sardine dish, which was served on fresh, crunchy sourdough covered in smooth, melt in your mouth ricotta, and the tuna crudo, which left us feeling full yet refreshed. The olive oil in this dish was the unexpected star, adding a rich yet not overpowering element to the fresh vegetables and tuna. I absolutely need to come back for their day menu and to see the staff again as our server was so nice and attentive! A great place for a casual, elevated bite and fun drinks.

The cafe is pretty small , but it's cozy and minimal which I love. They have day plates, coffee, and pastries. I haven't tried any food yet. But I did have a ginger tea which was made with fresh sliced ginger & honey. So delish! I pray it stays low key and chill like this. I will def be back to try their food selection and just vibe out.

I can prove my Haitian ethnicity by cooking traditional dishes. The legume was on point! That dish was my favorite. My friend truly enjoyed her salmon. Honestly, I wish I had gotten the salmon to take home instead of the Haitian fried chicken. Now, that wasn't that great to me, and I didn't enjoy it :( I'm still giving them all the stars and all the props because I really appreciated the service. This was my first time trying a Haitian patty with spinach, and it was absolutely fantastic. I think it's even better than the chickpea one. I would definitely highly recommend this place and also go back. But the Haitian fried chicken need to be better. Still, I'll definitely come again and try the salmon next time!!!

I ordered the vegan platter whose black beans were smooth and piping hot, alongside the crispy fried tostones and meaty vegan meatballs. In fact the meatballs were so meat-like that neither my sister nor my husband could belief that they were made of jackfruit. The white rice was also extremely fluffy and moist and judging by the diligent rice-washing that was taking place behind the counter as we ate, I could tell that the staff really works hard to make it not just an afterthought, but a quality addition to the meal. My sister also really enjoyed her shrimp plate while my husband devoured his half-chicken platter. The sauces on our platters were also extremely flavorful, complementing the proteins in a beautiful way. All of us left Lakou Cafe feeling happy and satisfied with the portion sizes and level of quality. 10/10 I will definitely be heading back to this place the next time I'm in Brooklyn!

When I tried it, the overall taste was nutty and mushroom-forward. Does it taste like beef? Not really. It's more like a lightly seasoned, spongy mushroom patty with hints of the creamy cashew "cheese" and dressing. The burger is a bit messy and tends to fall apart, so you'll want to eat it over something or wrap it in plastic or parchment. Alternatively, you can order it as a wrap, including a gluten-free option for just $1 more. Honestly, I think the wrap might be the better choice over the burger bun. I also tried the chili, which had a distinct split pea flavor with plenty of beans and a nutty undertone. The potato salad was creamy, made with diced potatoes that were lightly seasoned. It wasn't particularly memorable, but it was fine. Overall, for $13, the meal was decent. I don't approach vegan food expecting it to mimic fast food; I look for quality and originality, and this place offers something that's passable. The vibe is very indie and hipster, with a sense that they put care and spirit into their food. I've walked past this place before--I even visited once with my sister to try the cornbread and chili, which were okay--so I figured I'd stop in again. The location has charm, but the food didn't leave a lasting impression. It's good for what it is, and I appreciate the effort, but nothing really stood out. I've read other reviews saying the quality was better pre-COVID, though I can't speak to that since I never ate here before the pandemic. If that's true, it makes sense. Would I come back? Maybe, but probably not on a budget. For what it is, though, it's worth trying if you're curious.

I settled on Haitian food, and after some Googles I settled on Anmwey Eatery. The reviews were good and it was only a 5 minute drive from my mom's house. I ordered at the counter when I arrived. I knew I wanted griot (fried pork) with black rice, so that's what I ordered. They were busy, so my food took about 30 minutes to be ready. I was fine with the wait. The bar seats were comfy and I was on my phone. There was also loud reggae music playing from the other room, so I was jammin. I got home and dug into my food and it was almost perfect. The griot was delicious. Just crunchy enough on the outside and tender on the inside. The black rice was a little disappointing, but nothing major. I love black rice, but it lacked flavor. Luckily they give you a side of gravy, which was tasty. I should've taken the girl at the counter up on her offer to get an extra side of gravy. I still devoured everything though. It also came with fried plantain. I'm not a huge fan of unsweet plantain, but it was good when I added the picklez to it. Picklez is spicy, so tread lightly if you don't like heat. 5 stars for Anmwey. I will certainly return.

Looking for a carnival themed island vibe with great cocktails and authentic Caribbean cuisine,…read morecome to Savannah Spiced located in Brooklyn Here's what we had Drinks Sorrel Punch - The Sorrel Punch is a smooth, creamy cocktail that puts a Caribbean twist on the classic frozen piña colada. Instead of pineapple, it features the bold, tangy flavor of sorrel. Blended with coconut cream and rum, it's rich, refreshing, and full of island flavor. Def a fave and it tastes as good as it looks! Sexy lady - The Sexy Lady is a light but strong fruity cocktail that mixes the fresh taste similar to a lychee martini with the sweet, floral flavor of elderflower and juicy tropical fruits. It's smooth, fun, and a little flirty. We enjoyed this so much that we found ourselves guessing the ingredients! Sweet chili wings and Oreo waffle- The waffle batter was rich and delicious, with that classic cookies-and-cream taste shining through. I just wish it had been a bit crispier and more golden brown--that's my personal preference. Still, the flavor was on point. The wings were the real star perfectly cooked with a sweet, tangy, and spicy glaze that hit all the right notes. Altogether, it was a fun and tasty twist on sweet and savory. Chicken and Birthday Cake Waffle- The waffle had a sweet, cake-like taste with colorful sprinkles mixed in, and the batter was really tasty. I do wish it had been a bit crispier and more browned to give it that perfect texture, but the flavor made up for it. The fried chicken on top was juicy and well-seasoned, adding a savory balance to the sweet waffle. Overall, it was a creative and satisfying take on a classic sweet-and-savory combo. Appetizer Jerk wings- Hands down the favorite of the meal. They were packed with bold flavor--spicy, savory, and just the right amount of heat. The seasoning was spot on and the wings were cooked to the perfect texture. Every bite was juicy, flavorful, and left you wanting more. A true standout. We also can't forget the special sauce on the side--creamy and slightly sweet, it paired nicely with the wings and helped balance the heat. That said, the wings were so flavorful on their own, they didn't even need it. Entrees The Calypso Shrimp- Was beautifully presented as a standout dish. The shrimp were perfectly cooked, juicy, and coated in a sweet and spicy secret sauce that had just the right kick paired with creamy garlic mashed potatoes. It wasn't a fave but the presentation made up for it! Oxtail Low Mein - Beautifully plated in an abstract bowl. The Oxtail Lo Mein was a flavorful fusion dish that delivered more heat than I expected--but in a good way. The noodles were coated in a rich, savory brown sauce, and the oxtail was incredibly tender, falling off the bone. Each bite was packed with bold flavors, especially the deep notes of ginger and soy. The spice gave it an extra kick, making it a comforting yet exciting twist on classic lo mein.
