Terrible company. If you read the bad reviews, it's the same issue over and over again. Bad customer service And small issues that turn to bigger issues cause of all the delay. They give you lifetime warranty so they give you a lifetime to wait to get any response. Reception always refers you to Kayla (owner's daughter) who doesn't seem to know what she's doing. Nepo baby in full effect. She will always tell you someone is coming this week then no one shows up and she ignores you for a month and Kayla cycles her responses like a bad AI. You would think a company would learn its lesson after awhile but I guess not. They don't do permits cause they know it wouldn't pass with the way they do things. Go elsewhere!! In my opinion, this is the absolute worse company as far as professionalism and customer service. The salesperson tells you what you want to hear and that gets you hooked. They talk good game. Once you agree to the contract, they tell you that you need to communicate with main office. Trying to communicate with the main office is a JOKE!! One lady calls every couple of days to let you know your order is in process, but if you ask her a question, she's clueless and needs to talk to Kayla in the office. Try calling Kayla sheesh!!! Double JOKE. I called numerous times and when she did return my call it was as if I was disturbing her. Thankfully, the contractors they used to put the concrete and patio were so professional and did quality work. They are overpriced. So mixed review here. I've been sitting on this review for a while because I want it to be the most honest of our experience. If I could go back in time...I probably would have chosen a different company. We received our quote from Todd who was great. Such a nice guy and so reassuring of the whole project. He gave us advice on what patio to get--insulated vs non-insulated, whether we wanted can lights, fans, a TV mount. He also said they did cement work--so we were sold. I mean, all of the work done at once...great. So we thought... We had a total of three measurements for the project: Todd--the initial quote, Kayla--who spent about 5 mins only confirming the size of the patio cover, and Jaime--who measured only the cement area. I had questions regarding the cement with Kayla and she said "the cement guy will be the one to talk to." So...I directed questions and concerns to Jaime. First meet with Jaime seemed fine--"yeah we got it, no problem. I'll talk care of it..." but in retrospect, he didn't seem to listen to my concerns and questions or really come up with a plan to explain to me. I assumed he was professional and has done this several times--okay, great. We were worried about water run off going towards the house ... he said he would make it slope away from the house, granted the existing dirt was sloped towards the house. No discussion of any recommendation of drains for the new concrete. Jaime's crew came to level the area and created a HUGE pile of dirt that he had left on a different part of our backyard with NO INTENTION to remove. He was basically saying he could take it away but we'd have to pay? WHAT...? He said it wasn't part of the job...and that's when I learned he was contracted. He was making it a side job that he would remove the dirt and rocks. He became angry with me...and said I needed to talk to Kayla. I told him it sounded like an issue that he needed to clear with Kayla as well. Couldn't get a hold of Kayla, so I called Todd. Todd said it was not the case and the dirt should be removed...he said he would reach out to the Owner and Kayla. I received a texted from Kayla saying she was out of town but the dirt and rocks would be removed. SO....Jaime and his crew came and removed the dirt and rocks but not before spreading it around the whole backyard--in our planters and unfinished area which we had already cleared and leveled for grass. At that point I was so discouraged speaking with Jaime. Then a few days later he came with his crew to put in the cement. Okay, great. Done. Then Daniel, the patio installer, came and was fantastic. He also made a comment as to why the concrete was sloped too much...but he would make it look good and work with it all. He also mentioned the measurements were not correct and adjustments would need to be made. All in all the patio cover itself is great. LOVED Daniel...he does great work. BUT, the CEMENT WORK IS TERRIBLE. The cement is smooth and great quality but the SLOPE of the concrete is unreal. It's sloped far too much and water is pooling where the joints meet. We can't even put tables out or patio furniture without it being wobbly or slanted. It's awful. We had a few landscaping contractors come out for the rest of our backyard and ALL have said something about how poorly the cement was done. So discouraging to actually hear aloud what I was concerned about already. I reached out to Kayla for a solution...asking if anyone else can look at it and see if there is any remedy. Asked for someone besides Jaime since our encounter was rough. But she said he was the cement guy so yeahhhh. Anyway, the solution they gave me was to add a joint extension...it wouldn't solve the problem that the cement is sloped so much, but might help the water pooling. At this point, I just don't even think it's worth the trouble to have another encounter with Jaime. The only positive things I can say: Todd is a great salesman, Daniel is so hardworking and did an excellent job installing the patio cover with all the uneven cement and wrong measurements, and they completed the project very quickly. WARNING - SHADY COMPANY LIES TO GAIN YOUR BUSINESS NOT RECOGNIZED BY THE BBB I want to share my father's experience with Tenco Construction, which has been extremely disappointing. He was led to believe he would receive a high-quality service and that his patio would be completed within a certain timeframe. However, these promises turned out to be false--seems like they were just made to get him to sign the contract and take his money. Once he realized how they operated, he couldn't even cancel the project. The entire process has been a nightmare. Doug, the owner, was never available when my father tried to raise concerns about how long the project was taking to start. The only person he could speak with was Kayla over the phone, who kept telling him that Doug wasn't available and that they couldn't do anything. His materials weren't ready, and when they finally started, the installer came alone and worked mostly by himself the entire day. It looks like his crew didn't show up, but he did his best and even brought some family members to help. While we understand it's not his fault, we are very disappointed with the level of service. The installer worked from 11:30 am to 9 pm, and my father had taken the day off work specifically for this installation. Another issue that upset us was a miscommunication regarding the electrical work. We have text messages confirming that the power was supposed to be pulled from the electrical panel, not an existing outlet. Kayla later denied this, claiming the conversation never happened, which was very upsetting because it was an important detail for my father. Additionally, my father asked the installer if he could run some speaker wires as a favor, since he already had the wires and speakers ready. Instead of just running the wires, he was quoted $250 for the installation. When he discussed this with Kayla, she mentioned additional installation and hardware for the speakers--something my father never asked for. He only wanted the wires run so he could install the speakers himself. Overall, it's not fair to be left with an unfinished project and these kinds of issues. Tenco Construction is not a reputable company. They also falsely claimed to be recognized by the Better Business Bureau. This entire experience has been extremely shady and unprofessional. Has not been a positive experience working with this company at all. We initially hired them the end of June to replace our sliding glass door and the rep told us the job would be complete by July 21st. It's not August 19 and the door hadn't even gotten here yet. Every time I call for and update a lady name Cheryl tells me she doesn't have access to the screen, or that file and needs to ask Kayla; who is never there. I wouldn't recommend anyone work with this company as it seems they just want to take your initial deposit and then move on. read more

So if you read the reviews you'll see similar stories. As someone who is in construction, I will break down how this company works. 1. If you get a patio, it is subcontracted out. This is why "their crew couldn't make it today" is a popular Kayla response. 2. This goes with their concrete. Same thing. I only know because their concrete dude told me and hit me up for side work 3. They respond to calls but don't call back. I have a ton of leaks in my patio, they never called back after I sent pictures and emails. For all of you who don't know, you don't have to sue them. There is a better way. Just contact the California Contractors State License Board and submit your complaint. The board will do an investigation and likely take away their contractors license. Hit them where it hurts . If we all file complaints - that should send a nice message. Update: Doug the owner left a message saying to send an email to Kayla. I DID! 5 MONTHS AGO AND I NEVER RECEIVED A RESPONSE. IN FACT, I SENT THESE VERY SAME PICTURES!! I am sure Kayla will give one of her excuses from a list of her greatest hits. Like "oh I was out of the country" or "I didn't receive the email" or "we didn't have anyone to do it at the time." You know - the typical boiler plate Kayla messages. This company is so unprofessional, we had a patio cover installed over 3 years ago and it leaks so bad we have had to replace 2 fans that they installed due to water damage and when it rains the patio cover leaks so bad it's totally unusable! We have called them many times and they refuse to make it right! I even started to warn people when I would see their ads on Facebook and then they blocked me! Raised my price by more the 6000 and took 6 months to get the work completed . and I still had to have them back to finish putting the facia on and some tin peace's they failed to put back . We, found Tenco Construction on Facebook, we had our patio cover done about 3 months ago, we have to tell you, that we are very happy with the way our cover patio turned out. The installer, did a great job and, because of the rain he had to come to finish the job the next day, of course we understood that, otherswise we know he would have been done in one day like they told us. The ladies in the office, especially Cheryl kept us informed constantly of the day and time their installed would be here. I signed my contract to replace my sliding door with French Doors on 5/18/23. I was told by the salesman that the job would be complete in about a month. I received a call from Tenco and an initial email. I received a text on 6/21/23 to confirm my install date of 8/3/23. I asked the person (who I later found out was a sub to Tenco) that my doors weren't being delivered until 7/20/23. I tried to get in contact with Tenco via email (to Kayla who never responded), FB messenger and phone to no avail. The sub that did the work on 8/3 did a great job except my door hardware was given to them incomplete (missing parts). It's been 2 weeks since my door install and I have not heard ONE SINGLE WORD from Tenco on when this will be complete. Bottom line, the communication with Tenco is HORRIBLE! I would recommend their sub but not them. read more

I've got a tip for you all at the end of my review.... Ok so after reading some of these reviews I just want to say we feel blessed! Everyone involved did as they said they would. Maybe our job was a little easier because all they had to do was install the patio covers. The sales guy ( forgot his name) did a great job but he doesn't think outside the box. he sticks to the rules of engagement and sells what he knows. Now I'm not sure what's up with the office because we were told a few weeks out, just before Christmas and that's what we expected but for some reason their office lady ( very nice and sweet) would call to give us an updated that has zero info to it ( hahaha). She would say that the material hasn't come in yet. So on maybe the third or fourth time she called, I started asking questions like what materials and what is my install date ( both of which I already knew hehe ) and her response was that she didn't know but she was told to call hahaha. I'm like you don't have to call me to tell me something you have zero info about. We laughed and hung up. So Kayla, was awesome for us! She answered text messages in a reasonable time. She was very informative about everything that needed to get done. So for us, she was on top of it. Maybe over the years she as learned how to handle more issues efficiently. There's a lot of phone answering and text messaging and a lot of customers to respond to, so I like to give that grace to her because it's a lot of work for one person. The CREW! They subbed out to one of the best crews around. These guys were talkative, informative and got the job done in the time they said it would be finished. GREAT JOB YOU GUYS! Ok so after install was complete, there were a few minor issues that needed addressing and because is was Christmas and New Years, they promised to come out after the holidays to get it handled and sure enough they did. They were really on top of it. Very proud of everyone. So for the tip, always always finance jobs like this even if you have the cash for it. Here's why, they have to send a completion form in and the client has to inform the lender the work is done. THAT'S WHEN THEY GET PAID! Ain't nobody going back to a job site to finish up work after they got paid for it. Doesn't matter what it is. I don't care what anyone says, you don't get paid until all agreed work is done. The only bad part was a worker named Alex (the older one not the younger one) that put the patio together with his crecrew. He didn't know how to speak to people. His personality was rushed and needs some customer service classes. Just make sure to tell them you don't want him. Also keep a close eye on the finishing details. I got a quote for patio cover and French doors in May 2022. Put my deposit in August 2022 Kayla came to finalize measurements and so far nothing no call back no refund of my deposit and Kayla disconnected or change her number because i can't get a hold of f her. They kept telling me before that material was back order almost 6 month later and nothing. I will spend the money to sue them so they stop doing this to hardworking people. Tenco was one of five estimates I got for a patio cover. They were DOUBLE the price of the others I received (and that was after a discount if I committed that day). They wanted FOUR times what any of the other companies wanted to demo my existing patio cover. I posted on their Facebook page the same information and simply stated that people should do their homework and get several estimates and it was deleted.
