Really pains me to give a less-than stellar review to a place with such top-knotch customer service. If this review was based on customer service alone, it would have easily been a 5/5. But a major problem: This is a winery, and the wine was not good. SERVICE (5/5) Everyone is genuinely friendly and happy to help you! There was a couple near us who had just got engaged, and all the staff made a huge deal, played a special song for them, gave them bubbly etc. I loved it! PRICE (5/5) Very reasonably priced tastings. 10 tastings for $10? Hell ya! You really can't find a better deal. We excitedly purchased two of those.. but did not get through all 10 tastings because... WINE (1.5/5) I seriously hate to be so critical. The staff was lovely, the ambiance awesome, the winemaker is female, and even some of the proceeds of certain bottles went straight to Breast Cancer Research!! Like seriously, I wanted to love this place! But the wine tasted so.. unrefined. Out of the 7 or so we were able to try.... only the "Blush" Pinot Grigio was good. Most wine fell in the spectrum of bearable to not safe for consumption. Stay away from the "Barrel" Cabernet (it came from a barrel but they served it from a plastic juice container... I should have taken that as a warning). OVERALL (2.5/5): If you are not a big wino and/or if you are intimidated by the wineries in Napa and Sonoma this might be a good place to start. Was a really nice find to taste their wine. Very spacious outdoor with tables and comfortable indoor as well. Likes how the wine flights are set up where you get to choose your own tastings from a long list. I very much enjoyed most of the wine that I tasted. The service was attentive and we received some stories about the vineyard. We enjoyed our time here very much, nestled within the vineyards and had a view of Livermore below. This was our second stop on the Livermore Wine Trolley. This is a cool place, and Rich could not have been more welcoming! I hate to say this, but the wine wasn't greatest. However, the 2014 Chardonnay was a solid wine and they will even put your picture on it to make it specialized. The saying is, "Give us 30 minutes, and we will be friends for life." And I believe it! Amazing experience!! Upon arrival, Rich welcomed and treated us as if we were royalty and made this such a wonderful and memorable tasting experience for us. We'd just come from another winery that was probably one of the worst experiences ever to Tenuta where the experience was beyond exceptional! Several of us ordered the reserve tasting that arrived beautifully presented on a wine flight sampler tray. Beer flights are also offered which ended up being a big hit in our group as well. I made reservations to come here Friday with my three friends for a birthday and we all had a wonderful time. We were greeted and taken care of by Rich, who is absolutely awesome. He made my friend's birthday special by surprising her with a happy birthday sign and a printed picture label of us on a wine bottle! The wine- so good. We all four enjoyed both the reds and whites, and all four had wine flights, which are very affordable. We all ended up ordering a glass of red wine after. I always enjoy the leasurly drive from Dublin to Tenuta on a Saturday. They always have great case specials. This month it's around $13 a bottle. The serendipity rose, the aria, and the duet. I'm sad to have to give this place such a bad review, and the review is specifically a reflection of the wine and wine experience. This place has some great aspects - a cool little room with beer on tap, Rich's welcoming attitude, and the grounds around are gorgeous. However, when I go to a winery I expect to taste good wine from a knowledgeable and friendly pourer. The wine here is utterly undrinkable. We paid $15 for 7 tastings. We started with the bubbles which was sweet but fine. Then we had the Chardonnay which was good. But then we switched to the reds which is where things went terribly. The first red she poured for our table was this weird brown color like soda. The smell of it was the smell of turned wine that's been open too long and has gone bad. We took a sip and it was so disgusting we all poured ours out immediately. Maybe this was a fluke or a bad bottle? Unfortunately not. Every red in the rest of the tasting was the same - brown coloring, off smelling and awful tasting. We poured out every single one. No one could drink it. This is amongst a table of experienced wine drinkers as well as those who are less experienced. No one enjoyed it. Don't come here if you're looking for a good wine experience. It's big and good for groups, just stick to the beer! read more

A vineyard with wine and beer? Count me in! We went with the $10 for 10 wines and 5 for $12 beer flight. It was nice there were places to sit by the bar and couches inside. There's picnic tables outside. There's even tvs inside. A group of bachelorette were dancing to the music that was playing like it was a club. 2 out if the 10 wines we had had red cork specks in our glass. I likes the whites and rose wines. Too bad they didn't have any sparking wine available for tasting. For the beer, if you like IPAs then this is the place for you. I like light beers, so I tried all the non IPAs. But I only liked one beer. There's also food for purchase like cheese and pizza. read more

AWESOME Wine Tasting spot! The parking is on gravel so for all you ladies that wear heels, just an FYI. It's a smaller winery compared to Wente but I loved how the owners were just as involved as a regular employee. We opted for the wine tasting & we shared a beer flight. They had a choice of 9 beers & you choose 5. Then with the wine, they had red & white selections. The Wine Tasting is 5 for 5 dollars or 10 for 10 dollars which was super affordable! Amazing-ness! They have a cute outdoor seating area with umbrellas so that you can enjoy the sunshine without getting too hot. We opted to sit outside until the flies started to bug us so we went inside & sat at the TV section with couches. It was such a chill area, I loved it. They have an actual bar area to set at if you'd like. There was college football on so we opted for the couch/lounge. For the wine-tasting, when we were outside, there was a woman who was coming to us & helping us with wine pouring but as soon as we got inside, she disappeared. Maybe she was off, we don't know. So for the remaining 2 tastings left we went to the bar area & got the pours ourselves. Interesting observation: They have an automatic pourer that stops pouring at a certain time so each pour was equal. It was pretty cool. The Beer flights were served on these cute displays in what looks like mini wine glasses, super adorbs! The owner actually served our beer flights, such a great guy. Rich, that's his name. AWESOME service! Their motto is "Friends for Life", it says on the menu "Give us 30 minutes & we'll be friend for life." I have nothing but great things to say about Tenuta and the team! I chose to celebrate my birthday at Tenuta with a large group (16 ppl) and they were VERY accommodating. Rich also made it so extremely special with surprises and even told us all about the property and the wines there. Their motto of becoming best friends in 30 mins became our reality instantly, as they were so friendly. As for the food, we got a couple pizzas and they were extremely fresh and seriously some of the best pizza I've ever had. They had so many different wines that my friends got to try and accommodated all of our requests and likings. I would 10/10 recommend this winery, especially because of the scenery, the amazing wine, the food, the cleanliness, and most importantly the customer service. The best place to celebrate something or even to go to for a casual outing, you will not be disappointed. read more

I texted them the morning of to get a reservation and they were able to accommodate me the same day. It was a beautiful patio area overlooking the vineyards, and the staff was very friendly. I love that this is a woman owned winery, and that she makes all the wines as well. What's even more inspiring, is that her significant other helps run the tasting room and glows with pride when he talks about her. I enjoy white wines more than reds so I appreciate that they have a large list (about 10) of whites you can taste, as well as a large list of reds if that's what you prefer. Coming to Livermore is a much easier drive than Napa, but all of the wineries have a very different vibe. In our attempt to find less commercial locations, we stumbled upon Tenuta. It's a winding path into the heart of vineyards and is a beautiful sight. The building where the tasting occurs looks like a house from the early 90s, with the Cost Plus metal figurines and lawn furniture to top it all off. Before I continue, I have to say the two men working were very nice. There seems to be the best intentions of being a welcoming, positive, family run winery and everything that goes with being wonderful about family and friendship. We were immediately welcomed upon walking through the front door and started our wine tasting. There was one wine that was tolerable and it was from the barrel. Most of the wine however tasted bad. Old sour juice that made me worry about getting sick. Then I opened my eyes and the entire establishment started to scare me. I realized as the owner was talking that they had winery cats. Then I pinpointed the smell in the tasting room. Not spilled sour wine, but cat pee. On the old saggy couches in the lobby. Then I noticed the bag of cat food inside the storage room as he went to heat up someone's food. Then the cat hair trapped in the cobwebs that were all over the handicap lift that was being used to hold flowers and other props, definitely not legal. It's an unfortunate place that needs direction, management and a facelift in order to survive. read more

As their saying goes "Give us 30 minutes and we'll be friends for life". That's pretty much how it went the first time that my family went to Tenuta Vineyards about 3-4 years ago. My parents are regulars and I can't blame them. Talk about great service! Rich always goes out of his way to make sure that his guests are having a great time. The winery has a very intimate feel to it. It feels just like visiting a friend's house. They are also kid friendly. You can often find families here during the weekends. There is a flat screen in the back sitting area (great for game days). They also have a new tap room in the back. My boyfriend and brother took advantage of this during my graduation brunch. My dad and I are obsessed with their Duet. As for my mom, she is a sweet tooth. So, she especially adores the Black Mamba. If you're in the Livermore are, come visit Tenuta Vineyards and you very much might end up with new friends for life. read more

What a surprising gem tucked into the neighborhood of Livermore. This was my first time coming over to the Livermore wineries, and it was SO GREAT! As described by a friend of mine, Livermore wineries are like Napa wineries without the pretentiousness. That, is a very accurate description. :) We got a tour of their winery, did a tasting which had more wines included in it than I could count. All in all, this was an amazing experience. Came here after my bff was telling about coming here for a bday party and how much fun she had. We showed up all 7 of us (from a bridal fair not far away) the place was empty. We walked in and were greeted right away. The staff here was laid back, always smiling and laughing with us. We did the wine tasting which was only $5 a person. I suggest trying the port "black mamba" it was delicious!!! also the aria was yummy. I bought both bottles. If you do end up buying bottles you get $5 off each bottle if you wine taste first. They had complimentary sangria on the counter which was so good it tasted like juice. They will offer you a tour which also gives you more samples. I cant wait to go back!!! the 3rd and final stop on our tri-valley wine tasting trip, and we are so glad that we saved the best for last (unknowingly, so it was a pleasant surprise). their motto here is "give us 30 minutes, we'll be friends for life." i have to agree, wholeheartedly, that i will be friends with the staff and guests at tenuta vineyards for life b/c i had a great time here. it was a little tricky getting to the vineyard, as we made a couple of wrong turns on the very windy road, but one of the locals directed us to the proper entrance, and we were fine after that. as soon as we parked and entered the main house, we were greeted by the staff as well as a live band playing some light rock and oldies favourites. as far as tasting options, it was pretty straightforward: $5 for 5 wine tastings or $10 for 10 wine tastings, customer's choice of any wine between my husband and i, we tried the following: 1. estate chardonnay 2010 2. nv duet (chardonnay and viognier mix) 3. sauvignon blanc 2009 4. nv aria (pinot grigio and sauvignon blanc mix) 5. estate pinot noir rose 6. vintage cabernet port 2005 7. liquid gold chardonnay port 2010 8. cabernet port 2002 9. late harvest syrah 2009 you have the option of enjoying your wine inside, on some comfy arm chairs and couches or outside on their patio, which has umbrella covered tables (much appreciated on this very hot day!) unlike many other vineyards, they do allow guests to bring their own food and water onto the premises. included with the tasting was a free tour of the facilities as well as barrel oak tasting. we had the pleasure of trying these wines straight from the barrel: 2011 chardonnay 2006 red zinfandel 2010 syrah 2008 woodland merlot our docent was awesome, as he had an extensive knowledge of the wine making process, a great sense of humour, and the ability to make our group interact and get to know one another. i met a couple of really great folks in my tour group. in a nutshell, i give two big thumbs up for this winery, their staff, wine choices, and entertainment. this place has a very family-oriented and homey feel that makes me want to come back many more times in the future. read more

We picked Tenuta winery because it's open until 6, where the rest of Livermore closes at 4:30. The winery is tucked away in the hills with a beautiful view and a nice patio space. Service and ambience: The servers are friendly, but the service was rather slow. One of them was drinking and eating behind the bar and we had to ask multiple times to have the cartoons on the tv 20 feet away turned down so we could talk to each other. The space is badly in need of an update and a through cleaning, it feels like grandma's house in 1990 and the beautiful view out the window is punctuated with a 6 ft tall goofy decal. The food & wine: We did the 10 pours for $10, which is admittedly a great deal, however there was only one wine that my brother and I enjoyed, the rest need more work. We decided to order the cheese plate as 10 pours is a lot, it came out it was on a small paper plate: a pile of cheez-it's, cubed jack and cheddar cheese, sliced cheese filled hotdogs (ew!) and some fruit. I liked this winery, the first time I was greeted by the staff, real friendly and laid back, I am just not sure if they really make their wines here, I saw boxes & boxes of bottled wines labeled by a different winery, I was afraid to ask during the tour at the side hill cellar where they aged the wines. Overall the wine tasting & the tour was good thanks to Richie who explain the process of wine making real well & was entertaining. The family ends up buying 22 bottles of wines. My husband and I had our wedding reception here in 2004. We had a great time, have excellent memories and the views were great. Nancy was awesome to work with and was very flexible since we were one of their first events. We decided to go back over 10 years later, after picking up a Groupon or LocalGruv deal. Boy, has this place gone downhill. I feel embarrassed that I've recommended this winery to many friends over the years. The patio consists of a bunch of mismatched Costco-esque patio furniture and plants in plastic pots. The most offensive part is that we started out inside on one of the couches and it reaked of cat urine, we moved to another area and that area reaked of cat urine. Finally we went outside and quickly finished our tasting. We struggled over what wine to pick as part of the deal we purchased, they were all awful, settled on a pinot that is still sitting in our wine closet...probably will be forever since we have no desire to drink it. I think all the good reviews on here are from people who can't smell, like dives or prefer beer. It pains me to say this because I do have a fondness for what Tenuta once was, but skip this place! read more
