    carne asada street taco
    Meagan R.

My friend lives nearby so we decided to check this place out. We were greeted with smiling faces and seated. Love the decor and layout of the restaurant. We started with the chips and salsa, very tasty! Ordered a 2-4-1 happy hour margarita and a jumbo passionfruit marg. Both were delicious. Given how authentic everything seemed, I really wanted to try the street tacos. First annoyance: no mix and match, you have to order the same meat for however many tacos you get. Secondly: no option to order just one taco! You have to get 2 or 3. Fine, I get 3 carne asada. These were barely small enough to be tacos, definitely not street tacos. Street tacos are supposed to be little and flavorful, a little greasy. These were huge and basically fajita tortillas filled with meat, onions, and cilantro. The meat was good, the rice it came with was tasty too. The beans not so much. My friend got the Acordeon Burrito which was excellent! Overall, the service was great. The drinks were delicious. The food was mostly pretty tasty; I'd like to try other items on the menu. I will definitely be back.

    Chilaquiles

Not authentic food at all . Chilaquiles are supposed to be tortillas and they used tortilla chips as the bottom. . I've had white people make better chimichurri sauce in the panhandle and that's sad bro. I'm Mexican and my mom would beat my a** if I ever brought her here. The only authentic thing here is the staff. and they use old eggs that have been precooked.

    Tortilla Chicken Soup

The BEST tortilla chicken soup I've ever had. First time in Jacksonville, Everything was perfect, food was seasoned well, service on point. This will be my new spot when in town. If you're hungry you will not be disappointed.

Ordered the Chili Relleno and it was not breaded and deep fried like it should be, just a over boiled tasteless pepper. Will not order again

If you come during the middle of the day, there's a happy hour you can take advantage of. They also have daily specials to include both food and alcoholic beverages. If you're interested in deliver or takeout, I've seen them extend the Taco Tuesday special on Uber Eats as well for those days where you can't get to the restaurant itself. The restaurant can get a little busier Friday and weekend nights. The food itself is above average for standard Mexican-American fare. Personally, I love their street tacos consisting of a variety of different meats of your choice. The Mariachi Burrito and their birria-related offerings are also excellent choices. Every table comes with a free serving of their fresh chips and tasty homemade salsa. As for drinks, there's an abundance of choices from Mexican coke and a ton of different margaritas. When it's finally time to go, they offer the ability to pay by phone in addition to having the server process the card. It makes getting out a ton easier. With that being said, give this place a shot. I've tried most of their nearby competitors at this point, and they don't compare.

Service was pleasant, helpful and attentive. Food was very good. We got complimentary chips and salsa. Which was great. We also had guacamole and mussels to start. Both were delicious. I had a salad with bc chicken and husband had enchiladas with chicken. Portion was huge and they were amazing, I also had a mocktail that was delicious and it was made specifically for me, since I didn't want anything too sweet and they were able to make a really good drink! We had a toddler with us who loved the mussels and guacamole.

Being from California i know we are spoiled when it comes to mexican food, but things just didnt really make sense either. There was absolute no fun in the queso fundido. I ordered a California burrito and the fries were outside the burrito... plus no gauc?! Thats like a crime lol and not a true California burrito. My parents ordered an expensive steak and it was mostly gristle and fat and only came with a small side of rice, no veggies or anything. Not a complete $50 meal in our eyes... and lastly the chile relleno is my grandmas fave meal, but it was nothing like she'd ever had before and not really in a good way. The drinks were decent and our server was helpful with the gluten free options, but overall it was a super disappointing experience.

Greeted and sat right away- 5 of us. Hostess nice, server nice. Right away had two large bowls of chips and two types of salsa brought to us. Chips were good, just added salt. Unfortunately it went downhill from there. And we were patient, super patient. It was a Friday, but it was not overly crowded, like I said - seated immediately around 7:40. Drinks, took over 30 minutes for a pineapple one and three skinny- we joked the food would arrive first, but we were very wrong. Then, the waitress waited for us to try- I think it was a newer person at the bar. We tried to like it, but somehow it tasted like flat sprite.our server took them away and made us them herself. Now, those were great. Small side of guac was brought after that- meant to go with the meal, but we were so hungry we just ate with the chips. It was very good- fresh tasting. Then we waited. And waited some more. Asked about the food, then waited some more. Finally, we cut our losses and asked for the check minus the food that never came. The band was starting next door and we wanted to celebrate the bday girl. Pic 1, text just after 8pm- shows me joking that I was going to eat my friends food since she was headed over from next door and taking a bit and we had ordered 10 minutes prior. Pic 2, text shows us giving up- 9pm. So over an hour wait on food that never arrived - even if busy that would be a deal breaker. We were excited to try it too- disappointed.

I ordered the 3-taco lunch special. But I should have given my taco's some thought. I got 1 fish (I should have gotten this in a soft shell) the 904 taco and the one night, with ground beef. The chips, I felt like they came right out of the oil, freshly fried. The taco shells, I think they came out of a box or bag! Now that that's out of the way! I'm not on the West Coast! The fish on the fish taco was good, but I felt like I just wanted some tartar sauce and some fries. It wasn't a good fit for the taco to me. and again, I put it on the wrong tortilla. The skirt steak taco, the meat wasn't very tender, and not much flavor. The only sauce I had was the salsa, so that helped out this taco and the ground beef taco as well. Now, I was really surprised, the ground beef taco (one night taco) stole the show. It was seasoned well, and it was just good! I just wish the taco shells were better. This is a good hang out spot, they offer 2 for 1 drinks YESSSSS! So a great spot to hang out with friends and family. I didn't get to enjoy that part! But I think I will check it out one of these days.
