We've lived over by this spot for 3 years and this was our first time trying it. It was lunch time and they were having a special. $2 off the chimichangas and 2 for $10 house margaritas. The chimichangas were very good and came out hot. The margaritas were good as well, not strong. The service was good and fast. Nice small restaurant. read more

This place located on the west side is usually busy but not crowded. There's a CORE group of people in the neighborhood who frequent this place regularly. The food is good, it's not great, but it is good. It is consistent. You know what you're gonna get and they produce it the same every time. They have some interesting non-standard items like a pineapple chicken, which is pretty interesting and tasty. The service is good. The place is fairly clean and the restrooms are fairly clean. There's plenty of parking and it is one minute off of I 10. read more

Warning: Don't come in here ALONE and expect to get any service at this place! The employees will ignore you -- including, the designated waitress will have a sour look on her face as she walks perpendicularly right in front of you, ignoring you, as if she hates people. Also, the cashier who's right in front of you 10' ahead. I've been here 3 times already, and had OK service and OK food those times. (If you come in alone to dine in, though, they'll put you in a non-romantic corner right next to the kitchen, though, for their convenience, unless you speak right up and say you want the darker, more comfortable second room where everyone else gets automatically seated.) This time, though, when I came in, I got no service, and am wondering if I were confused by them ALL as a DoorDash person or other person coming to simply pick up food. Even though I stood just inside the front door for minutes and kept looking at employees as they walked by (notably the snooty waitress aforementioned, who I noticed then went someplace faraway, and sat down to pout about something). So I took it upon myself to sit down at a table, and waited around for service, I made sure to try to make eye contact with each employee as he/she ignored me. 4-8 minutes I waited.... Finally I had enough, and walked out, while explaining to Mr. Cashier that I'd been waiting but being ignored for a long time. He simply said as I went through the door, "Have a nice evening!", as if he knew exactly what they'd been doing! (They don't like how customers sitting-alone LOOKS to the other guests, is that it??? Hmm, that kinda sounds like illegal discrimination. By the way, I'm a "pleasant-looking" tall middle-aged white man who dresses appropriately.) Never again will I waste my time there! They'd had good sangrías when I was there before, though the food is definitely nothing to write home about. I actually went out of my WAY again to go there (4 miles from my house, vs. 2 BETTER Mexican places, Salsa's and Rigo's on W. Beaver St., being only 2 miles from my house), just was going to try CDM out again. But, NEVER AGAIN. (By the way, after that I then drove right over to Salsa's on W. Beaver -- and had a GREAT experience there, as per usual.) NASTY SERVICE. So-so food. Sangrías are pretty good, that's IT. read more

We used to be die hard regulars despite several of our friends having bad experiences here. The food, unfortunately , has gone so far downhill over the years. We were excited that they had recently renovated and gave it another try. Unfortunately the cotija cheese on my black beans was spoiled, and made my whole meal taste rancid. The food is terrible. My husband ordered a chimichunga. Aren't those supposed to be crunchy? It came out like an enchilada, smothered in sour cream and a big dumb tomato slice on top. I ordered the enchiladas. The beef tasted burnt and the corn tortillas tasted like nothing. Like seriously? Crazy part is people were in there eating like itwas amazing. Ugghh! I was so mad. I only ate about 4 bites. Complete waste of money. Do not recommend. The server was ok so that's why its not one star. read more

3 words: Grilled...Chicken...Tacos. So basic, yet so perfect. Simple tacos on corn tortillas with onion and cilantro. The hot sauce served with them is unique in that the heat doesn't overwhelm the flavor. Even if you don't like 'hot', I think you'll enjoy this sauce. These with a cold Dos Equis amber and you've found my happy place! The Covid-19 mess put a real damper on Taco Tuesday. Not being able to go in and get that cold Dos Equis while waiting on my tacos was a real bummer. Fortunately, their takeout is just as good. With the recent crisis, we've eaten a lot of takeout, and theirs has been pretty good-accurate and timely. Looking forward to 'normal' Taco Tuesday. read more

The waitress was very pleasant. The food was great! I had Mahi tacos and they were piled high with cheese and the fish was warm and crispy. My boyfriend loved his taco and enchilada. The menu was extensive!! They stayed open until 11pm on Friday nights which just what we needed after a long drive. The restaurant was walkable to Fairfield and the Hampton. read more

Not sure what those negative reviews are about. The food here is very good and reasonably priced. Love their refried beans and the yellow rice is a treat in and of itself! So far I have had Burritos and Enchiladas... and they were all delicious. The house Margaritas are not the best ever (I'm sure they use a pre-made mix) but they do not lack for quantity and reasonable quality of alcohol - I think they use Jimador, which is far from an awful Tequila. Overall, I am very enamored of this place, especially as it is just down the road from me!! read more

Today I picked up a to-go order for my lunch break. Wow! What a delicious meal! I had the chorizo tacos and the melon agua fresca. Beans and rice and chips with salsa were included. Everything was packaged securely -- no leaks or spills! The presentation of the chorizo tacos with a hot dipping sauce in the middle. I've never had tacos served with the cilantro and onions -- let me just tell you that you MUST try it!! The agua fresca was sweet and refreshing. I plan to try the horchata flavor next time. This is not my first time ordering food here. I've eaten in and ordered takeout before. There are vegan options as well. read more

The food was fabulous and the customer service was excellent. What I liked most was it was authentic and different from most Mexican restaurants. It wasn't the same old thing. They had ribeye entrees that looked amazing. I had the California burrito which was perfectly seasoned and it was muy grande and divine. The pico de gallo was made from scratch. I know good cooking and their food was amazing. I don't know why anyone would rate them anything less than 5 stars unless they were looking for a taco bell...blah blah blah. I don't know who could ask for more. I wouldn't lie to you. I'll be going back real soon. read more

Not happy at all ordered 2chicken , 2 beef enchiladas. Never said flour shell but I did say salad on the side . Had to wait and food still cold , salad on top and flour shell . This seems to be a hidden gem. The food is phenomenal, and the staff are amazing. When it comes to Mexican cuisine, there are 3 things that have to be spot on at the restaurant. I've ordered food to-go from here probably close to 15 times so far and all 15 times I've had consistent good to great service. The food is the traditional Mexican style cuisine, the quality as well as portions are great too. The restaurant itself is always clean looking and while busy, I've never seen it "untidy" or cluttered. The service is very patient with you when figuring out what you want, they'll even explain the menu and any changes. Once I ordered a margarita to go with my meal and when I got there, I was told they were out of the size medium cup but made it up to me by giving a size large at no extra charge. Those people are going to get my money every time I'm in the mood for Mexican food. read more

Hot & delicious. Excellent retried beans & rice. All the food was made to order. The burrito is freshly made and so was the taquitos. It's nice to see a restaurant home make items as they're ordered rather than having them stockpiled up and you get your fast food inside of a sit down restaurant. They are open. They still serve decent food. The queso is expensive but not watered down. Do not get the ground beef tacos as they must let the beef soak in water. I came with some relatives to celebrate a birthday. The food here is good. Nothing spectacular, but still good. I had the combination dinner number 6 -- one taco, one enchilada, rice and refried beans. I also had a margarita on the rocks to go with the food and to celebrate. Been here many times with mostly good experiences, except today. The host sat us to basically an empty restaurant. That's when my invisibility started. The server attended to people behind us who were sat after us and completely ignored us. We were about to leave and I decided to ask the host if "they had any servers working today". He pointed to the server and said she was our server. She took our order and was very engaged with other tables, but not ours so much. It was obvious we weren't happy. The food was good as always. Kind of sucks how a non-personable server can spawn a bad review. read more

By far one of the worst Mexican restaurants I've been to. The street corn was dry, my steak nacho texana was cold and soggy and the service was worse than trying to get a beer at the super bowl during half time. Spent 2 hours there when it should have been 45 min! read more

They had a chips and salsa runner that was refilling tables pretty consistently. This was both good and bad... Good because chips, bad because I ate too many! I think we had 4 basket refills! They had a DJ in the outside seating area, a FREE photo booth, and several specials on the menu for the day. It was a fun and lively event and at one point they were offering shots to people. I happily took one! I have been on a regular day as a party of two and a party of 8 and have had fast and friendly service every time.

They ordered a huge beast of a taco salad that was made with a red Doritos bowl. I thoroughly enjoyed the Arepa Bowl, I'd highly recommend that if you are like me and always crave plantains The menu is huge and yes they do have happy hour! And YES! We ordered tacos, nachos, a kids' burrito, and kids' quesadillas, we got desert, it was a chocolate covered skull with ice cream, they bring out the dish and literally lit it on fire with a sparkler, looked cool, kids loved it, so if you're looking for something a little different or entertaining during dinner. So overall, the food was decent but a bit salty, and the flavor didn't really stand out. To me it had more of a chain restaurant feel, kind of like something you'd get at Chili's rather than a more authentic Mexican spot. Drinks were mixed for us. My wife had margaritas and enjoyed them, honestly I don't think she's ever met a margarita she didn't like. I tried the Old Fashioned, which just wasn't my style. It tasted more like Fireball on the rocks than a traditional Old Fashioned. One thing they definitely did right was the service. Even though the restaurant was crowded, the wait staff was friendly, attentive, and stayed on top of everything the whole time. Overall, it's a cool spot with a fun vibe and good staff. If you're looking for a lively place and want to see some flaming food presentations, it's worth checking out.

I ordered the Shrimp Tacos (corn tortillas, lettuce, breaded fried shrimp, chipotle mayo, and cilantro) minus pico & they were great. The shrimp were freshly fried and steaming hot. I had to wait a bit because a large catering order was being finished as I arrived. The manager offered me a free Jarritos and apologized profusely for my wait. I took it as a good sign that their tacos are that popular plus it gave me time to enjoy the gorgeous murals by ARTBYJAE. I visited the Baymeadows location (open until 3am Fri/Sat & 1am Sun-Th) & they now have a second location on Parental Home Rd (open until 1am Fri/Sat & 11pm Sun-Th).

I appreciated they charred the outside of the tortilla and it was nicely crisped. Since I'm from Southern California, I was expecting some type of hot sauce like all of our taco shops offer, but sadly there was none. I would have loved a little spice, but the tacos were very good with the onions. I was pleasantly surprised they were out of cilantro, which for me makes me happy since I'm not a fan of the stuff. Overall it was a good meal and for Florida, they were pretty decent birria tacos.
