I typically enjoy a UV mani with nail art, and I decided to try Bella's because they are an area salon and I love supporting small business. I've sent a few people here, too - my mom, a friend, etc. I know the owner took over another business, and they've definitely tried to spruce up the place. It's always so clean and quiet in Bella's which I very much appreciate. I've had my nails done by Vivi (who is probably the best artist they had, but she moved) and Caroline. They were both sweethearts - and they finished rather quickly, which I appreciated! I like that you can typically text the number for Bella's in order to set up an appointment, although different people will answer depending on who's working. I've also gotten eyebrow waxes here and they a decent job, although I have a lot of brow to work with so it makes it easy! There are just a few things that I want to mention about Bella, though, that make me second-guess whether or not I want to go back as be a full time customer. One, there is definitely another business in the back - I think the owner is a notary republic, and there are always people walking in and out of the salon to use her back off. That's a little off putting. Second, all of my manicures have fallen off by the time I've come around for a fill in. The first time, I wrote it off as a fluke, but it happened all the other times as well. I always went back with one nail missing and multiple lifting off. As much as I love the fair prices, it's not really worth it if my nails are falling off. And my mother and friend said the same thing also! Overall, I think Bella's is worth a try. Being haggled for $80 mid-service in front of other clients and staff because of your own booking error was humiliating. At the very least, this should be disclosed to customers before starting their nails because this is absolutely not the norm. The most I've ever been charged to have nails removed (and never has it been by the same salon that put them on) is $10 for gel x. But the owner told me she charges min $15 (and this goes for styles even without tips, like SNS). It's unfortunate because this place is next door to my apartment and I was hoping to become a regular customer, but I simply cannot fathom paying a $20 surcharge every time i want my nails done.

I've been to Nails by Hani a few times. It was very exciting to see another nail salon open up in…read morethat space. From what I understand, Hani had a following before opening her up own shop in that location. There are always customers in there and business seems solid. The space, while small, is beautifully decorated. Hani really put work into making it feel like a luxurious nail salon despite the itty-bitty size. She always puts up seasonal decorations, too, which is a nice personal touch. I've gotten my nails done by both Hani and Yoli, depending on availability. You can make an appointment through the app very easy - although, you may have to book two to three weeks out because slots fill up quickly. The girls here do quality work, and they are open to intricate designs (depending on who's working on you). There are just a few things that prevented me from giving it five stars, and what prevents me from returning. I found that I was never taken on time, and this is a huge pet peeve of mine. I hate going to nail salons and waiting around for them to finish clients. Five, ten, or even fifteen minutes is nothing - but if I'm waiting a half hour past my appointment, my time is being wasted. Why make an appointment if it's not going to be honored? Another detail is that Hani really caters to her regular customers (and she had a lot of them). There is a distinct difference between how certain customers are spoken to, treated, and serviced, and I personally felt like there wasn't really any warmth established with me during the few times I went to this salon. This could be my perception of things, of course - but I've got to many nails salons where I was a new customer and felt more welcomed. I don't expect to be treated like I'm a celebrity on the red carpet, but I do expect to be treated with a little more customer service being that I am purchasing a service. For example, I went in around the holiday season and they were giving out little hand creams as gifts. There were a lot of customers - every chair was filled - and every customer that left while I was in there got a hand cream. When I went to pay, I got nothing. Favoritism like that will definitely turn away customers in the long run. Regardless, this salon will offer you quality work and service (if you can get an appointment), however do expect to wait for your appointment. Then the morning of the appointment I received a confirmation for a 5:00 appointment. They require clients to give 24 hour notice to cancel or change appointments (or be charged $20). I called them and they agreed to honor the 4:30 appointment. They were very pleasant when I arrived. Even though the location is quite convenient, my time is too valuable to keep on changing my schedule for a pretty average pedicure.
