Sunrise Sail. I went on the 7:30am Sunrise Sail solo with Captain Pete(r?), Owen and Connor. They were a relaxed and knowledgeable crew. It's the perfect cruise for the first few days if you aren't trying to get to Haleakala for sunrise or wanting to head out all day snorkeling. No dolphins or whales, but that's not guaranteed. The guys were personable, full of information, gave great instructions for safety and overall it was a wonderful short cruise. The sunrise sail served coffee, juice, water, mini muffins and croissants. They had a non dairy option (oat milk) but no fruit for those who are gluten free. That would be my only add on to make it a perfect sunrise morning sail. The price was spot on at $59.95 plus tax etc.
We booked the Premier Snorkel Sail, and it was one of the best experiences we had in Maui. The tour was from 9:30 AM to 2:30 PM (checked in at 9:00 AM), and the full 5-hour trip was absolutely worth the price of around $169.95. This adventure included a tropical breakfast, a chef-inspired BBQ lunch, and a free open bar with Hawaiian beers, wine, and Mai Tais. We visited two snorkeling spots--one near the mother twig area and the other at an artificial reef. Both were stunning, and we got to see turtles, fish, and beautiful coral. The food cooked by Julia was incredible--fresh, flavorful, and honestly some of the best food we had on the island. But the highlight of the entire trip was Deyha. She was the true star--kind, genuine, humble, and so empowering. She remembered everyone's names, checked in on us constantly, and made sure we felt safe and comfortable. You can tell she genuinely loves what she does. Our captain, Nicole, was amazing as well--professional, friendly, and reassuring. If you don't know how to swim, they provide floats and teach you exactly what to do. I was really hesitant to get into the water, but Desa encouraged me, and it turned into one of the best decisions of my life. The boat was extremely clean--the bathrooms, eating area, and cleaning stations were spotless. The overall vibe on board was positive, friendly, and safe. The only small downside was that the ticket seller advertised it as a whale-watching + snorkeling tour, but once on the boat, we learned it was mainly a snorkeling tour, and they would only stop for whales if spotted. Still, the crew more than made up for it with their exceptional service. We did the morning Premier Snorkel Sail, and I highly recommend it to anyone visiting Maui. Beautiful views, incredible crew, great food, and unforgettable memories. 100% worth it.
Did a snorkeling tour on 7/8/26 with Teralini 4. The staff was great ( I can't remember their names) but all were very friendly and attentive. Dakota was out in the ocean as our lifeguard at sea, this put me at ease as my kids snorkeled off the Mala wharf. We got to see a lot of turtles. The breakfast, bbq and drinks were great. The photographer also got really good photos of us snorkeling and the sea life, I would recommend buying the photo package.
This was my 3rd cruise with Teralani and it has been amazing each time! The crew was amazing! Captain Patrick and his team were so nice and made each person's experience unique: The Vodka Sunset is my new favorite beverage!! The photographer was the cutest and so funny.
Sailed out on Teralani 4 on 7/17/26 for a snorkeling adventure. The crew was amazing and the snorkeling was phenomenal. Would highly recommend and we'll be back for another excursion on our next trip out to Maui in '27!
Very easy sailing journey. Great crew. Dinner was better than expected with short rib or maui maui option. Protein a little small but well done. We would book again.
It was a wonderful experience even though it was a bit windy. We swam near coral and then a big drop off. Saw many types of fish. You could hear the Parrot fish chomping. The photographer was amazing as she got great photos of my daughter diving Her and her camera equipment caught some turtles eel and a variety of fish. We even saw a group of eagle rays swim by. Glad we were able to go snorkeling before the big storm came in. Service was great. Food was tasty and drinks flowed. Yes there are restrooms on the boat and they were spacious and. Lean. Staff had a lot of knowledge of the area as well.
Me, my wife, in-laws and two young boys had an amazing time with captain Mario and his crew! Captain Mario and crew were very inviting, informative, and funny. Made us feel like Ohana! The food and drinks were on par and not only did we get to see a bunch of sea turtles but we were fortunate enough to be taken on an extra adventure and spotted a mother whale and her calf. No extra cost if you don't look at the whale . Overall great experience and would recommend Mario and his crew!! One last note, when boarding and unboarding from the beach, keep your eye on the wave. Cheeeee-Hoooooo!
Amazing afternoon dolphin sail July 2026. We probably saw at least 100 dolphins. They swam next to the boat, we saw them jump out of the water, just incredible and easy/safe for a family. Our kids ages 4, 7 and 10 all had a great time. The crew were so nice! The photographer was great too! We purchased all of the pics she took of our family and the dolphins for $85 which seemed pretty reasonable. You had the option to purchase one photo for $40 or all for $75 + tax. I was a little worried about our 4 year old but the water was pretty calm and they had life jackets for anyone that requested them.
February is known to be peak whale season in Maui and being able to witness it firsthand was a magical experience. The crew are all incredible, super friendly, and attentive with a vast amount of knowledge. Learning about the fun facts was quite entertaining in between whale spotting. The captain took us to multiple spots and it was a breathtakingly beautiful experience and wonderful way to get the morning started. Went out on the first trip at 7:30 am which I enjoyed because the sun wasn't too harsh at this time. The crew passed out water and had snacks on board, I had some pineapple and muffin. The meeting spot was towards the water on the beachwalk, close to the hut where you can rent gear such as snorkels, fins, & boards. It's close to Kāʻanapali Beach Resort. They check you in and you do a beach loading onto the catamaran. There are plenty of spots to sit or stand and it was a good group of people. Got to experience both close and far spotting, one whale came really close and we got to see it swim under the water and come up to spout. Loved being able to watch them in their natural element, doing turns, breaching, and playing. Can't thank the wonderful and lovely staff enough! I did the Whale Watch experience but Teralani does offer other options such as snorkeling adventures and sunset cruises.

My sister and our dear family friend had the BEST time on their sunset cruise. Freddy (Sorry if I spelled this wrong!), Gavin, James and Captain Tanner - you guys are amazing. The service, the scenery and bonus whales! We love Maui and will definitely do another cruise when we come back. read more

Took the family for this dinner cruise just a few hours ago. Would do it all over again x 100!! Sammi, Bryce, Captain Bama and Julia were top notch. They were very thorough with rules and safety for everyone on board. They were constantly patrolling around to see if everyone was doing well and were happy. Dinner was chicken or Mahi Mahi, purple whipped yams , quinoa and green beans. My kids are a little on the picky side but still tried it and a big thumbs up! Captain Bama had a variety of music playing for everyone. Saw some flying fish too! Of course the photo ops were amazing as usual. There is someone there who takes photos on board. We ended up purchasing all the pics of our family. An amazing time.... Memories made and I highly recommend this group read more

Patrick, Patrick and Elaina did such a great job hosting everyone for the Sunset Sail. The whole crew is very knowledgeable about whales and Hawaiian waters. We learned a lot while having great cocktails and seeing many whales. Love booking a sunset sail every trip to Maui. Never disappoints read more

Yep...they did it...a well deserved five star review. To start with they are close to Kāʻanapali so easy to get to if you are staying at one of the resorts there. They seemed to be affiliated with Outrigger so have an agreement to use the Outrigger parking garage for only $8 which had plenty of easy parking. We were on the Teralani 5 (sailing catamaran) with Captain Patrick. Hotel valet directed us on where to go. Check-In was super easy and then we did a beach boarding near the Outrigger. Once on board the crew took care of us like VIPs. Started by getting everyone a cup of water to stay hydrated, nice touch, then handing out equipment to anyone who needed it. Motored away from the beach while the Captain gave his briefing. The captain seems to be on Aloha time because his 2 minute briefing is not 2 minutes...hehe...anyway... Continental breakfast was the usual breads & fruit & juice & Starbucks coffee. Well, Starbucks wasn't usual. Our sail had two stops (captain's choice) both beautiful locations. Snorkeled the first location then motored to the other. BBQ lunch and snorkel at the second location. They opened the gate on the second deck for brave souls (like my grandson and me) to jump into the ocean. So much fun. On the way back to the beach they put up a sail and sat on the front net and enjoyed the quiet, wind powered (no motor) trip back. Had a first day crew member (Phillip) who seemed to go out of his way to make us feel like ohana. I think he chose a good boat to work on. A cool bonus (which had nothing to do with the planning or the boat) was we happened upon a pod of about 40 or so spinner dolphins. They swam next to, then crossed in front of us several times and a couple rode the bow wake at about 10-12 knots for several minutes. You can't plan things like that, just lucky. Okay the snorkel trip was pretty much like most others, good communication, good safety procedures, professional captain & crew and a nice boat. The difference on the Teralani 5 was the culture. They treated their guests and each other like ohana and VIPs. The culture seemed to be "welcome to our boat and how may we take best care of you." Food, service, Open Bar, questions, whatever we can do for you we will. Everything was included once you were onboard. (Photos from the professional photographer were optional at a reasonable price.) All boats go to basically the same locations, but what sets the Teralani 5 apart is the crew and how they put forth the extra effort towards their guests. We will certainly work to get onboard with them again next year when we return. read more

Early morning we drove to the next beach where was our catamaran, we had scheduled 2 hours sail over the warm waters of Hawaii to watch the whales, this is the time of the year they come here from Alaska to reproduce. It's warm and safe water for them. No predators like orca, so they stay for around 2months and then come back to Alasca, the day was perfect We had the opportunity to admire many who even waved at us. The sail team was amazing, very friendly and the weather and just incredible. For sure I recommend this tour. read more

We went out on the Trapani 4 yesterday. It was epic. Had a Momma and baby stay with the boat for almost an hour. Swam under the boat multiple times. Stayed along side and let us take many pictures. read more

Just have to preface this with the fact that this was my first (and only so far) catamaran/sailing experience and my first (hopefully NOT only!) trip to HI. This was such a fun, amazing experience!! It was WINDY, but that made for more whoopdee dos and white caps to contrast the beautiful blue ocean. We met several people/families and enjoyed visiting with them. There are a few things that were a little confusing and maybe not completely updated on the website/confirmation, but this was also was this boat's first time out since the fire, so it's understandable and not a big deal in the scheme of things. The crew was attractive, helpful, kind, communicative and involved with the guests. I missed the cute gal's name (due to wind), but Sam and Patrick were fabulous and Patrick was a great DJ! Loved the music choices! I highly recommend this and say to all - TIP YOUR CREW and be gracious and kind!!! We don't know what they might have gone through/going through from the Lahaina fire. We went out snorkeling with Captain Patrick and his Thursday crew today and we couldn't have had a better experience! The crew was so much fun, accommodating, knowledgeable and helpful. They knew exactly where to take us for today's conditions and for the best excursion. We saw tons of sea turtles, sharks and fish. The lunch was delicious and the drinks were great! We do a snorkel tour every time we are in HI and this was the best we have done! read more
Had a great time but they advertised a dinner sunset, and the dinner was just the worst. I ordered coconut curry and as you can see in the photo they only put drops of curry over the rice. The actual curry was good but they put so little it didn't even cover the rice. This tour is kind of a tourist trap. First off they sell you a dinner sunset 2.5hrs for $130. They charge you an extra $20 for service and tax so it comes out to $150 per person. They sail for the first hour and it's fun. But then they come to a stop for people to eat and they never sail after dinner except to head straight to the beach to drop you off. They also say unlimited drinks but they only come by every 30 minutes at best. Pros: we saw dolphins. Staff is very friendly Cons: everything else This tour does the absolute bare minimum, the food is terrible, the drinks are minimal, I would definitely not sail with Teralani again. read more
Wanted a sunset cruise during our stay in Maui - decided on Teralani based on Yelp and Web reviews. It was great and highly recommend. GET THERE EARLY - they are very prompt. We got there exactly at 3:30 when they said the cruise started and we were clearly the last ones to show up. They Board the Boat at 3:30 - get there at 3:15 at the latest. The crew was awesome (Captain Drew, Sean and Nick absolutely crushed it). In addition to beautiful views and sunset we also saw a bunch of whales and even a shark. The food and drink was what you would expect for a boat cruise at ~$125 a person all in. The crew brought it around to each person - was great that it wasn't a "come and get it" situation. Highly recommend this cruise when you are in Maui. read more

Hands down best snorkeling trip in Maui. Saw so many fish, turtles, dolphins and even a monk seal. Freshly bbq'd lunch opposed to pre made food that is often served on other boats. Great cocktails and staff. Captain Matt, Freddy, Bri, and Gavin were all so accommodating and went above and beyond making our trip an epic day out in the water. read more

Can a person who walks with a cane do this sunset dinner cruise?
Sure! But the boat does get quick rocky with the waves.
Is the snorkel sailing tour recommended for non swimmers?
They provide flotation devices and boards to lie on, so a reasonable person who is a non swimmer could have a good time.

Is there a restroom on board?
There are two non-sex specific heads. These are the largest, cleanest, most well-maintained bathrooms I've seen on a boat. There is even a porthole so you don't get that claustrophobic feeling you often get in heads on boats.
