    Empanadas A La Carte
    Heather S.

Had takeout from Tere's and wasn't quite sure what to order and settled on an a la carte Carne Asada Taco and a la carte order of empanadas. Thought the empanadas would be small, but holy crap these were on steroids and it turned into way too much food. Empanadas dough was delightfully crispy without being too greasy. It comes filled with chorizo and potato. I could have used a little more seasoning in the filling? Or some sort of spicy or garlic dipping sauce. Still good, although the size of them makes me hesitant to go that route in the future. An asada taco is kind of the measuring stick to Jge a New Mexican place. Great size on the taco. Tortilla fell apart a bit from the weight of the meat, but then again, most tacos do. I was worried that it would be a little dry inside, but once again wrong. That taco sauce was hidden inside and packed some heat in the best way. Will definitely get tacos again!

    Machaca burrito with no machaca
    Brick ..

I usually order take out with the family when we're in the area. This time around I ordered the breakfast machaca burrito. I'm disappointed to say that I could not find any machaca halfway through my meal. For almost $20 to only get beans, rice and eggs....complete disappointment. Wish I could get my money back :( Tere's used to be so good. What happened?

Carne Asada Nachos, 12 oz spicy salsa

Carne Asada Nachos and spicy salsa 12oz to go!! So yummy and the spicy salsa definitely has a kick to it, perfection

Tere's is a small storefront in a small strip mall. Parking is easy. The Website does not show photos of this one. There are a few others that are very pretty and bigger. This is not that. This one is not pretty and it is sort of dumpy. But it is spotless and it is great. We like this one the best. You go to the counter to order and have a seat, there are not a lot. They brought us our food, I don't know if they always do that. I think this place does a lot of take away and delivery. The menu is on the wall and they have quite a few things you won't find at a typical Mexican restaurant. The service is super nice. I had a hard time reading the board (forgot glasses) and they were there to help. They also were so nice when they brought our food. It was exactly as ordered and hot. The food is great. We loved all of it. The Nachos are great and if you order a side of guacamole it is a huge serving and great. Their burritos are super as our their enchiladas. All the fish dishes are very good and very fresh. You will love this little hole in the wall. It is wonderful.

    Overpriced Ceviche

Over priced Ceviche. For one serving you pay $18.95! That is insane! Other places charge $8-9, but I gave Tere's a chance because I live their food. Unfortunately I was disappointed with the overpriced meh tasting ceviche.

    Breakfast Burrito with Chorizo
    Marcos L.

Close to the busy shops around Melrose is this lovely inviting spot, great reviews might lead you to it but my experience was a bit underwhelming. The Breakfast Burrito was a great portion size yet lacking in flavor, and the Pork Tacos were spicy enough but to the point where I couldn't really taste anything after my first one. I'd love to come back here and maybe try their other options but i'm not feeling compelled to Great service Convenient location

The best spot for Mexican takeout. They have the best chips and salsa, but I've never had anything bad from Tere's.

Now when you pull up originally you might think, "am I in the right place" but once you park and get into the courtyard, it is LOVELY! Amazing ambience! There is a bocce set up, string lights. It is a little slice of oasis in the middle of the fashion district. The restaurant itself - beautiful. I couldn't ask for more. Absolutely perfect in my book. Beautiful plants hanging, perfect Spanish music in the background (any place playing Natalia LaFourcade is a win). The drinks were great! I had the jungle bird which was fun. Food was so good too. The whipped beans are the star! We had the guacamole which was tasty, great tostadas with it. The arepas were good but the pork belly was a little too fatty (I know pork belly is always fatty) to the point the fat muted the flavored for the arepa a bit, but still delicious. The empanadas were great and as someone who lived in South America and ate empanadas every day, these really took me back to my Paraguay days. The squash blossoms were light and perfectly fried. Unfortunately my friends had gone to Funke the night before so they were comparing the squash blossoms and Funke won out, but they still liked Dama's! Small plates were enough for the 3 of us. The service was quick and attentive. Parking was easy for us. I will definitely be back!

The staff are lovely humans who really seem to care about their customers. We have some faves on the menu. The bean dip is fabulous and I'm addicted to the baby gem salad. They have recently amped up the filling in the delicious crispy squash blossoms and I love the acidity and heat. The fish is also a hit in my books. One dish that doesn't work for me is the lamb chops, which is a shame since it's my favorite protein. I've ordered them multiple times with clear instructions on temperature and have found them overcooked and tough. The beef tostada was just ok. Whilst I loved the pickled veg on the side, the beef was underseasoned. It wasn't bad - just not up to the standard of other dishes. The vibe in the place is welcoming and the restaurant is nicely appointed. We will continue to be regulars and it's really worth trying if you haven't been yet.

Located between Koreatown and Pico-Union, this restaurant delivers an outstanding dining experience from the moment you're seated. My wife and I both ordered the Mole Coloradito with chicken, and it was absolutely delicious. One detail we really appreciated was being able to choose between white meat or dark meat--a thoughtful touch that lets you customize your meal to your preference. The mole was rich, complex, and full of flavor, exactly what you would hope for from a restaurant known for its Oaxacan specialties. As a welcome appetizer, they bring fresh chips and salsa to the table, but what really impressed us was when they replaced the salsa with their incredible mole sauce. It was so good we found ourselves dipping everything into it. Both meals were served with rice that was perfectly cooked with a great consistency and flavor. For those feeling adventurous, give the Chapulines (grasshoppers) a try. They may sound intimidating, but they were surprisingly enjoyable and added to the authentic experience. The staff was exceptionally friendly, attentive, and patient with those of us who are not fluent in Spanish. Their hospitality made us feel comfortable and welcomed throughout our visit. Great food, authentic flavors, and wonderful service make Guelaguetza a restaurant we'll definitely be returning to. Highly recommended!

As soon as you walk up the stairwell you'll be transported into this super cute place with an outdoor-indoor feel, almost like an elegant treehouse. We were seated on the second level which provided a Birds Eye view of the restaurant. We ordered a few items to share: Cameron ceviche, flautas and for our sweet tooth, French toast paired with a mango sorbet surprise with a candle for our birthdays (tip: we drizzled the melted sorbet on our French toast and took small scoops with each bite - game changer!). Everything was so delicious! We also ordered mocktails, a miche-nada for him and a lemony drink for me. This experience wouldn't have been as great without the exceptional service we had. Our waters were always refilled without asking, our tables were cleaned with every dish, honestly top-notch service! My only real bummer was discovering they took the vegan ceviche off the menu--that was actually the whole reason I came back! I'm sure they have their reasons, but I was pretty disheartened to see it go. Overall, the menu doesn't have a ton of vegan items, but they do have some room for adjustments if you ask.
