After having to leave the over crowded Great American down the street, I was happy to stumble into this far less crowded establishment. I was even happier when I saw the drink list - a whole page full of gluten free drinks? I don't have a gluten intolerance, but honestly I am very fond of most gluten free alcohol (cider and mead to be precise) and so I was excited when I saw the variety. This place is worth a look for the drink selection alone (and believe me, their variety in general is impressive), but the service is cold and unfriendly, making the overall experience not enjoyable. None of the bartenders looked like they wanted to be there, and our specific bartender looked miserable. Forget getting a refill, you will quickly be forgot at this bar, since the staff is over worked and angry. We stopped in here late at night on a Sunday, maybe around 11pm. Very quiet by that time, but the service was still great as was the food. They have half priced tacos after 10pm (kitchen is open until 11:30 on Sunday's going by the call we made beforehand) which was great. I had the ones with pork belly which were amazing. Nice small portion that wasn't too filling, but given the late night half price you could have gotten two plates for four tacos for the regular $10-11 price. She got bacon wrapped scallops and said they were perfectly cooked, we were both thrilled with the food. That's to say nothing of the drink selection, which was nearly overwhelming. The beer I asked for had kicked, but before I could even reopen the menu the server was quick with a similar recommendation for a nice pick I hadn't had before. Great spot for drinks and a bite. Anyone whose from King of Prussia, Wayne area knows about Theresa's. If you're a beer snob, you'll love this place. The "Next door" side has a magnificent 50 foot wall of floor to ceiling beer glasses. I swear they scout out these glasses like it's their full time job. Although it may seem excessive when you walk in, it's totally cool to order a beer and get it in the glass it was made for. The food is delicious. We ordered the baby rabbit for appetizer and it was so good! Although I felt a little guilty with how much I enjoyed it, I'd definitely order baby rabbit again. For dinner, I got the tacos which came with a brilliant corn salsa. So good! The "Cafe" side is nice - the Italian food/wine bar. It's more of a happy hour type atmosphere if you ask me but it's nice! They have a slightly different menu, cheese plates, etc. Would definitely recommend Theresa's to anyone in the area. read more

Went to Teresa's for our anniversary. I ordered the mussels in a red sauce. When my order came out, I was disappointed to see the smallest sized mussels I have ever seen. When I asked the low energy bartender what the deal was, he said that small mussels were what was in season and that's why they serve the mussels in such a hearty broth. If I wanted soup I would have ordered soup. I went to Chicks in Philly the following weekend and had mussels that were plump and delicious. Guess larger mussels are now in season. I might go back to Teresa's for beer, they do always have a nice selection but I will never go for the food. read more

Teresa's is hands down my favorite place to grab a beer in all of greater Philadelphia. The beer selection is second to none with lots of obscure Belgian offerings and hard to find American IPAs. I highly recommend trying out some of their house drafts that you will not see anywhere else. My favorite is tripel Van De Garre which comes with cheese. The food is really good. The mussels are the best I've had and I've been to all the spots in Philly and traveled abroad to Belgium a few times as well. I also highly recommend the oysters and especially the wasabi minuet. The steak frite is great, and if you're really hungry try the hobbit ribs. If you're looking for something different than the usual euro pub fare, try the tacos. The service is good but occasionally inattentive at the tables during peak times. The bartenders are very knowledgeable and friendly. The place seems to have fixed the acoustic issues I complained about in my previous review appear to be resolved. If its a nice day, there are are a few outdoor tables as well. read more

Met vendors for lunch here on 1-24-2024. Ordered bunny bites and disco frites to share as an appetizer. Bunny bites were tough and the waiter forgot the disco frites. We reminded him that we had also ordered the fries to which he argued that we did not order them in the first place. This was one of those waiters who doesn't write things down.. that works for people who have the experience and the confidence to know they won't miss anything but I feel like this guy was just trying it out. At any rate, it seemed in bad form to argue with the customer, it's not like we were angling for a freebie. For an entree,I had the prime burger with sauteed onion, Gorgonzola and a fried egg added. Had a great meal at Teresa's last night at an outside table. They have the outdoors at night, Teresa's next door has it during the day. Lovely meal at a beautiful spot. We loved the salads, one Caesar and one arugula with lemon and cheese. Then we split a homemade fresh fettuccini with pork and beef bolognase. Wow. The italian traditional cooking still reigns. Me and the missus visited Teresa's Next Door Saturday for dinner. I had recently learned about the venue on a show they had been featured on and after looking at the menu I was excited about the event. There was plenty of parking on street and in the lot and because it was after six we didn't have to pay. We walked in and were seated immediately. Our waiter brought us waiter and gave us time to look at the drink menu. The drink menu was quite extensive and I settled on the Firestone Nitro Merlin milk stout. The missus ordered a glass of red. We enjoyed our libations while looking at the food menu. We settled on the BUNNY BITES, A VERSION OF CHICKEN FINGERS: BREADED RABBIT LOIN WITH A SPICY CARROT DIPPING SAUCE and OVEN-ROASTED, NEVER FRIED, JUMBO CHICKEN WINGS. We added the Thai ginger to the Bunny Bites on the recommendation of our waiter. The rabbit was tender and tasted like chicken. The Thai ginger had some heat on it but I was able to cope. The wings were jumbo size and were cooked perfectly. The chicken was tender and piping hot. We ordered the wings with rosemary roasted garlic but they were in desperate need of more seasoning. It almost seems like the sauce was forgotten. For dinner I ordered the game burger which was venison. I added aged cheddar and caramelized onions. The missus ordered EL PICADOR TACOS CRISPY, CONFIT PORK BELLY, ONION, CILANTRO, SALSA ROJA, QUESO FRESCO. The burger was cooked perfectly and was delicious. It was my first time having venison and I thought I was eating beef. The two tacos were nothing special. I expected to see three on the plate and I expected the pork to be more amazing. My absolute favorite local bar. Once you get to know the waiters/bartenders, everyone is so nice. AMAZING selection of beer. I could order a different beer everyday and it would take me months before I've had everything. Definitely suggest going on a Monday or Tuesday, that's when they have specials on food (Buck a Shuck Monday and Tasty Tuesday). I love the varying Tasty Tuesday menu even more than the main menu (but that's probably because I've tried just about everything on the main menu already). It is also less crowded on those days and I can understand people's issues with the crowdedness and noise. The waitresses are no nonsense and they are very knowledgeable about their beer selection. Don't know how the cocktails are because I go there for the beer, though I wouldn't expect anything less than delicious. Go to this place if you like quality beer and food. This is not for you if you like $2 beers and reheated appetizers. In summary: if it's your first time, go on a Monday or Tuesday night. We also ordered ribs which are a huge portion. They are served with fries and a salad. Plenty to share or bring home. We started with soup and escargot. I think the escargot was the most disappointing. The portion was good but flavor just OK. I ordered the duck salads it was OK. Overall it was a good lunch for four it was about 160 bucks so it's pricy but we have leftovers and I won't be cooking dinner. We also had dessert to our desserts are made fresh there. So many reviews of this maxed out beer bar, what can I add of some worth?! I've been to TND many times. Admittedly, my first days were fraught with confusion and hesitation. So I have three simple tips. I'm a guy, I don't ask for directions, it's in the code. But here I would say tip #1 is ask for help. They are very willing, ask for it, describe what you like, and try a taste before committing to a glass. Don't hesitate to drink a few tasters. And super tip #2 is pick a theme. That could be a county, style, or something else. Go in and do the chalk board of specials. Or try to tackle French beers. Regardless of your goal, you'll have a route. Seems to have combined the Mediterranean-inspired Teresa's and the Belgian beer bar but sacrificed some independent charm of both. Teresa's used to be a little more upscale but has transformed to super casual bar area and dining room with wooden tables and metal chairs. Used to be a date spot but now more a friend hangout place. The Belgian side used to have a great beer selection but not so much anymore. Used to have great whole chicken wings but I'm not certain they still offer. Belgian bar side is a bit overpriced for what you get. Still nice to have in the neighborhood for the occasional visit read more

My only complaint about Teresa's Next Door is that it opened after I moved away from the area and so I try to pay it a visit every time I am back home! Okay that's a lie, I have another complaint...that I can't drink every single beer in the beer book in one sitting. That doesn't mean I haven't tried though... This is a classic gastropub: they have an AMAZING beer book, specializing in local craft brews and Belgians, and really good food to accompany it: lots of fun "game" meats like elk burgers and assorted other animals, plus more traditional gastropub fare like bacon-wrapped scallops, etc. If you don't like beer and/or you're a vegetarian, reconsider your life choices. Stopped in for dinner around 6 p.m. on Wednesday and thought everything was excellent: the menu, the beer list, the service, the atmosphere, and the quality of everything we ate and drank. I went for the mussels (specifically, the crocus and cream) based in part on other reviews and was glad I did; they did not disappoint! The fries were also great, and the whole meal paired very nicely with a Coppertail Octoberfest. Although the restaurant filled up quickly as the evening went on, our friendly server didn't flinch when we took our time ordering a second round of beers and even asked to see the regular food menu again. Though we didn't partake on this visit, the G&T list also looked intriguing: the basic gist is you create your own pairing of gin and tonic from a pretty lengthy list of options, all for the reasonable price of $10. As far as the food goes, think upscale American-bar-type fare; it's the kind of place that defaults to serving salads with their burgers rather than fries. Pros: Definitely the location, it's right downtown and parking was relatively easy. The beer selection was vast and offered different varieties for everyone's taste, and the bar service was timely. The appearance, both outside and inside, were nice and the inside was very clean. The [drunken] mussels were very delicious; big mussels in a delicious sauce - highly recommend! Cons: The food service was slow. Not knowing whether they were at normal staffing levels, we gave the business the benefit of the doubt, but it did take over 45 minutes to get our appetizer (the mussels). The main course followed shortly after, but 45 minutes from the time we placed the order to receive any course seems excessive. Personally speaking, the prices seem a bit high compared to nearby competitors offering the same items at larger portion sizes...and I'm speaking strictly to the food and not the drinks. Overall, Teresa's was OK and we'd like to give them another shot. If you're comfortable with potentially waiting a good bit of time to eat, and spending potentially a bit more (the mussels were a little over $20), then this could be a great option for you. read more

The osyters are a rip off. Tiny chinese food buffet small. Not Monk's cafe. Not even close! Order a 16oz modern IPA draft beer and get 12oz Order a 12oz draft Stone IPA and get it in a 10oz glass. We went today on a wife date and was ripped off at ever corner. An order of mussles was less than impressive. The po boy was ok but more bread than fish. We went to Teresa on the left side of the restaurant ( fried Burrata on the menu) and the food was amazing, so last night we tried the one on the right side and I wasnt impressed at all. I have heard a lot about Teresa so just wanted to give it a chance. We ordered fried Mozzarella and marina sauce and it was good. Then we had crispy pork belly tacos which I was excited to try. Unfortunately It was so bland and only got 2 tacos for $14 with little corn salad. I think It needs some kind of salsa or some sauce on it. However Pork belly cooked perfectly though, crispy and juicy. Disappointed! We also ordered seared tuna steak sandwich with samurai sauce. Tuna cooked medium rare as we asked, but not really seared and no flavor, nothing special about this sandwich. Just boring I wont ordered it again though. We only ate in the "Italian" side, so I can't comment on the other half. Food was great, so five stars for that. Minus two points for the seating, which is clearly designed to get people in and out as fast as possible, which, while great when the place is packed, is less enjoyable when you are there for more than thirty minutes. Im terms of food I feel it's a bit on the expensive side but there is no compromise with the quality for sure. Saved by the beer.... barely! This is normally one of our favorite places. We always expect a great beer list and the menu is very eclectic with plenty of unique items not found in most other places. This trip was no exception..... however the execution is where they are now lacking. Having been here many times in past years, we decided to take another couple there. Probably a mistake and neither couple will probably go back again. My wife always looks forward to the escargot. We ordered that along with two other appetizers. When they came out, we immediately had to send them back as they smelled and tasted terrible. The other apps we ordered (bunny bites and meatballs) were just a bit better, but only because we were hungry and needed to eat something. Our main courses were not much better. Mussels - Usually a safe "go to" here. Seemed like they dumped a bunch of duck sauce and hot sauce on them. They tasted weird (maybe old?) and it was like they were covering up the taste by making them hot. My wife couldn't finish them. Pork Loin - Flavorless. Average at best. The Quack - Very small amount of meat on a dry roll with a few pieces of green. Would have had me saying "where's the beef" but I think they snuck slices of roast beef under the top piece of duck! Would never get again. Pulled Pork Tacos(?) - hard to screw this up. Wasn't too bad. The Game Burger - the only really tasty thing that any of us got. The ostrich burger was very good. Topping off the whole night, our waiter hovered around our table, at times tried to take plates we weren't done with yet and was generally creeping everyone out! The only saving grace to the whole meal was that they had excellent beer on tap. If you can get your kitchen output back to what it was before, you may want to make that happen. read more

Second time here tonight and, again, every expectation exceeded. They don't take reservations on this side of the restaurant, but I haven't had a problem getting a table either time. First things first, half off all cheeses on Sunday. My partner and I ordered four along with some chorizo and olives. Nicely portioned and each cheese comes thoughtfully paired with a garnish, a honey or balsamic glazed strawberries for instance. Bread too. We added on some of the delicious chorizo and olives too. The beer and whiskey selection is unparalleled. Really, I can't think of another comparable establishment. I decided on wine tonight and wasn't disappointed. They have nice assortment by the glass and it's all at the right price point. I also appreciate a drink menu with good description of the featured wines and beers. Teresa's Next Door doesn't disappoint on this front. I was so hungry that I ordered an entree in addition to our cheese platter. It was the best pork chop I've ever had. I don't even really love pork chops, but it was that good. Ridiculously good. Out of control. Juicy, tender, seasoned perfectly. Beer for days with a great menu to boot, Teresa's Next Door (housed in the same building as the Cafe) is one of the best gastropubs in Wayne. I'm willing to admit upfront I got lost looking for Teresa's Next Door. I mean, I saw Teresa's Cafe and then looked around outside, and didn't see the Next Door location. I'm embarrassed to say that, walking inside Teresa's, if you turn left you're in the Cafe and if you turn right you're...next door. Odds are you're not as dumb as I am, and upon entering you'll be greeted with a narrow modern gastropub, with a long bar on the left running parallel to seating and a really long line of taps. Be sure to check their social media pages for tap takeovers and other specials (such as a make-your-own gin & tonic menu). Besides drinking copious amount of gin and a few delicious microbrews, we also ordered the Mussels (Ostend fennel, celery, onions, sorrel, parsley, chervil, mustard, white wine, cream) served with Pomme Frites and bread ($18.50) and more fries in the form of Disco Frites ($10), with baked with brie, mornay, and worcestershire demi glace. The mussels can come with several different spices and flavors - we ordered the most popular option according to our waiter, and it was magnificent. A generous amount of mussels (easily enough for 4 people as an appetizer) with really rich flavors. The Disco Frites is pure comfort food with high quality ingredients. Overall, If I lived in Wayne I would be here all the time. They have a really good thing going here, and Teresa's, both the Cafe and Next Door, could become your new favorite hangout spot. read more
