Teri Cafe Is one of my favorite places to dine inside at. I placed my order with Jackie. I preferred the Plate Number 14, this meal included Grilled Chicken Teriyaki with white rice, green salad with lightly seasoned dressing and potato salad with an orange wedge. My beverage that I ordered is the one regular size glass of Raspberry FUZE Iced Tea. For dessert, I added the 2 Mango flavored Mochi. My total dinner cost was $20.00. Everything that I have eaten at this Teri Cafe Restaurant location was very healthy and very tasty! The Mango Mochi Ice Cream has a tangy and sweet Mango flavor to them. This Mango Mochi outer shell has powdered sugar sprinkled on the top with a rice based exterior and it has a chewy texture to it. The inside center is Mango flavored ice cream. This Mango ice cream has a tart mango flavor with a slightly sweet taste to them. It's very refreshing and delicious! My order was brought over to my table by Yurishi . It only took about 15 minutes to prepare and to cook my grilled Teriyaki Chicken with the cooked White Rice. That was very fast food. The customer service I received from Jackie and Yurishi was really excellent! Tonight for my dinner time meal , this Teri Cafe was very crowded with a lot of walk-in customers. I enjoy eating inside this location at Teri Cafe because everyone of their servers are great and I am treated with respect and appreciation for my business with them. I understand that everyone in the industry is having to adjust to the rising costs of EVERYTHING... but this was ridiculous. Always a solid experience here. Parking is much easier at this location. My husband and I split the D1 special and it was plenty of food. Prices are fare, portions large, food tasty, and service is friendly. I do wish they had coke instead of Pepsi. My review is for the plaza drive. I wrote this in March of 2023 and posted it in the El Camino location. I have heard about this place for years from my daughter. While visiting she finally took me here. I was not disappointed. Line busy to order and place packed on a Wednesday night. Food prices great for the huge amount of food you get. I had Teriyaki Chicken with rice and my daughter had the same but on noodles. Going back to visit in July and will definitely come back. I came back to Cali in the summer and my daughter knew I liked it that she brought me back two times. Both visits were great. You get a lot of food for the price and it is delicious. They place gets busy so you might hit a line of people and then finding a seat is difficult. But they do have in and outside dining. It's disheartening to read the negative reviews. My wife and I visited Teri four times when we were in the area and did not experience any problems with the food or service. The order takers were friendly. The table helpers were friendlier, who once bought a water bowl for our dog. The employees looked like high school students who were intent on doing a good (first?) job rather than just passing the day. Though bad employees exist in any café or restaurant, we have not met one in Teri, so far. We thought the café had more of a Hawaiian atmosphere than an Oceanside or Southern Cal atmosphere. We always ordered the chicken teriyaki and shrimp & veggie tempura. We usually arrive fifteen minutes after Teri opens, so every item is fresh, the tempura oil is clean, and the lunch crowd hasn't arrived yet. The young table helpers always asked us about our food or if we needed anything. We smiled and said the food was very good. Teri is a gem as its chicken teriyaki and shrimp & veggie tempura are on par with the many very good casual Japanese restaurants in the San Francisco Bay Area. When we are in the neighborhood in the future, we will revisit Teri, which is better than the many casual and full-service San Diego Japanese restaurants (which do not appear to be true Japanese restaurants). read more

Ok we've been coming back because it's convenient. I've grown to like their teriyaki chicken and teriyaki beef. They do have the best teriyaki chicken. It's nicely grill and you can taste the grill. You can get things like tempura and katsu, and they serve these items with potato salad, orange slices, green salad, rice, etc. They have Hawaiian juices, like POG and others as well. We like coming here because the menu is pretty extensive to offer something for everyone at a reasonable price. In my family, there are those who like poke, those who like ramen, or sushi. The first thing I noticed as I walked in was seeing a large sriracha sauce bottle( the original one) on every table. Thought this was my kind of place to eat. I had to order at the front first before seating. The menu was very extensive and really liked to try a few things but it was too much to eat by myself so just decided you try two items, salmon skin salad and a sushi platter. I was in the area and had been here before. I was just about done running my errands and wanted to order dinner to take home. So, I got on the phone and placed an order for the #5 (beef teriyaki and shrimp plate), the Tanuki Udon and a rainbow roll. I was told that all would be ready in about 15 minutes. The do have a text notification system, so I went in once the order was ready-that's convenient. It was busy, as usual but the line to pay moved fast. I've always really liked this location better than the El Camino spot because of the patio-it's a good spot! Anyway, 20 minutes later at home, the food was still pretty warm after the ride home. It was nice that they separated the broth and noodles and had the teriyaki sauce on the side. Everything was pretty tasty! My favorite was the ginger salad dressing, so yum! My wife ate here years ago and raved about how much food you can get for little money... Naturally my inner dialogue went something like, "What!? Great sushi for a bargain? We need to go there now!" Although the food was good, it wasn't anything to rave about. They have the typical variety menu items for sushi, chicken, beef, gyoza, etc. They have a few special rolls too. Teri Cafe occupies the end unit of a strip mall and has a larger outdoor seating area next to the parking lot. The inside has a lot more seating than the patio, both areas have there pros and cons. The cafe has a familiar flow. Signs posted at the entrance instruct new comers to order first, receive a number, and then get a table. Pretty typical for a Cafe. Food comes out quick and tastes good. Servers make rounds to ensure you don't need extra napkins, drinks, etc. People seem to love this place, and we must have just beat the dinner rush. By the time we left there was a line out the door. Why three stars? Price is comparable to many of the sushi restaurants in our area that are cleaner and offer a better dining experience. For the simple fact that they are a cafe (vice a restaurant), they are serving a lot of people quickly; inevitably this place has messy tables, dirty floors due to higher traffic, and a rushed feel/vibe. The food is good, borderline OK, definitely nothing to rave about. To sum it all up, the three stars are reflecting our dining experience to the price we paid to eat here. We go here quite often with family and friends & order a ton of food as prices are reasonable, food is wonderful, service is great (Walter is THE best) and we also love leftovers! Ordered the perfectly fried gyoza, side tempura (which has 2 shrimp, green beans, sweet potato, zucchini), inari sushi, edamame and a beef/chicken teriyaki plate (doubled both meats, cus grandsons is 19) which comes with miso soup, green salad with miso dressing, potato salad and rice). Also a salmon plate that had a really good portion of perfectly cooked salmon and all the same sides as the plate above. I ordered the sashimi bowl and requested only salmon ($2 more) and brown rice (also $2 more). Since the brown rice is warm, it came on a plate with beautifully arranged avocado and the sashimi was presented like they were flower buds - damn, should have taken a picture!! Everything was excellent and I'll say it again... Walter is THE best. He makes sure that you have everything you need and comes back to check to make sure you have a great experience. We've tried most everything on their menu over the years and you have to try this place. I love their Banzai Ramen on cold days - super satisfying filled with grilled veggies and chicken.
