An impromptu lunch with one of my favorite people, and we found ourselves at Teriyaki Domo in Roseville. The restaurant is located in the fairly large strip mall, with a few other restaurants, stores, etc. Both interior exterior of the restaurant or not anything that would pull you in, but we're always game for a food adventure. And who doesn't like teriyaki?! My favorite foodie friend ordered the spicy chicken salad. It was actually a bed of steamed veggies and some salad items thrown in there which definitely was creative, with the chicken spread across the top. I went with something that I thought would be tasty. I mean, the restaurant is called teriyaki Domo. I ordered the teriyaki chicken rice bowl. Not too terribly complicated, but I did have expectations that deliciousness was right ahead of me. Orders are placed at the counter, and you have to pick up your order. There's no table service at all, but they do have the expectation of being tipped. All of the chicken and meats are grilled to order, and I just knew that this was going to be what I was expecting. Sadly, I'm not sure what happened between ordering and picking up my bowl from the counter. The rice bowl is just that a lot of rice and there may have been two bean sprouts in there. I definitely would've loved more vegetables. The teriyaki sauce definitely was underwhelming. It was missing that sweet teriyaki flavor, and this tasted more like soy sauce. The chicken, even though I saw them grill it was extremely unappealing. I picked up my food, and I kept hoping that the teriyaki sauce would stick to it to give it some flavor. The chicken pretty much tasted like the grill, which isn't a bad thing, but it needed to be seasoned with something. They do offer sushi rolls and other teriyaki items. Saw this place on IG and noticed that I actually work around the corner from this place! I decided to go here for my lunch break and it was the perfect pick-me-up after a long morning of work. I ordered the Sesame Chicken Rice Bowl and it was the perfect amount for someone like me who doesn't always finish her food. The sesame chicken was breaded to perfection and the sauce that they drizzled on top was AMAZING! The place inside looked so simple but yet still so clean. Goes to show that a food spot doesn't need to be fancy to have good food! I'm definitely gonna have to take my husband here some time an especially because their Plates and Combo meals look very tempting to try! Unfortunately this type of old school casual Japanese/teriyaki spot is of a dying breed. I really love these no frills casual/takeout style Japanese places and I'm happy to have teriyaki Domo close to my work. The prices are pretty good compared to other lunch options and I appreciate that it's family owned and the guy I see there running it is very friendly. It's not my favorite teriyaki but it does the trick and it's pretty good! Their salad dressing seems to be just Italian dressing, which is kind of strange to me, but I like that it's their thing. They seem to do a pretty good business and are always busy at lunch. Too bad the landlord/city allows homeless to hang out in the shopping center. read more

I tried this place the first time. My go to place doesn't have the meat I want so I went here instead. I ordered pork combo, it has gyoza which it's not that bad. If you love teriyaki, this is the place to go. I ordered their Chicken teriyaki salad. Wow! The chicken was grilled perfectly and the sauce was flavorful and the salad was fresh. They also have all kinds of sushi rolls that looked really delicious. But, I'll have to try that next time. Am eyeing the Fair Oaks sushi rolls on my next visit. I got the beef combo plate and chicken combo plate with California roll and tempura to go. Everything was delicious! Crisp cold salad, crunchy veggie and shrimp tempura, and nicely grilled/seared beef and chicken slices. I came by to pick up around 4:30 pm. They put the hot teriyaki sauce on the meat for to go order when I picked up the food, which i think is the most thoughtful touch for us to-go customers. Our food was delicious. It is a clean, well-lit, no-frills dining room. Overall, it is a gem of a restaurant that is hard to find nowadays. I hope they stay around for a long time. We will be back! read more

Deep Fried Shrimp, Crab Meat, Avocado, Crunch with Sauce. The shrimp and crab were delicious and balanced great with the rice roll. I will order this again. The Fair Oaks Roll also included Deep Fried Shrimp. It was supplement with Avocado and Sauce. In my opinion, a little too much sauce and not enough shrimp ..... but still very good. This is the absolute worst place I've ever ever gotten teriyaki. It is grilled tiny pieces of way overcooked chicken and a whole bunch of bean sprouts over the rice. I mean way too many changes the texture way too much. The sauce they use was the most disgusting teriyaki sauce or maybe one of the worst sausages in general I've ever had . Nothing positive to the flavour it definitely took away from what would've been just a plain plate of rice and chicken. Customer service is ridiculously terrible.
