One of the best places in GA to eat at! Every time I go, the staff is always super friendly,…read moretalkative, and overall great. Every time I go in with my boyfriend, they know our order by heart. The food is always so good, with my favorite being the massaman curry and basil fried rice. The drinks are bomb too! The place is decorated very beautifully, I highly recommend taking some inspiration from the wall decor. I went to GSU for 4 years for my undergrad, and the last two have been spent there. If I had known about it sooner, I would've been there. Anytime someone asks where they should eat dinner that night, I always recommend Coconut Thai. They have added karaoke nights as well as college nights too! Overall, this place holds a special place in my heart, and I miss it a lot already. Everything about this place is a 10/10. After I got my undergrad degree, they gave us an ice cream to give us good faith and luck on our endeavors. This is the kind of place that I want to share with everyone.

SERVICE 1/5: no "irashaimase" or even a "welcome in." we walked in and was met with blank stares…read morefrom the waitresses. We walked halfway in and nothing and my husband had to walk directly to a waitress to ask if we seat ourselves. She pointed at the table and grabbed who would be our server. I guess we interrupted her conversation. Our server on the other hand was sweet, however, I had a hard time hearing what she was saying because her voice was so low. We did not have any qualms about our server. She was good. A lot of servers were openly on their phones, specifically the sushi chefs behind the counter. They would stare off into the distance or be on their phones until summoned to make a nigiri. It wasn't necessarily slow, there were quite a few patrons there. When we left there was a young girl at the enterance clearing off a seating chart and not a single person thanked us as we were exiting. Obviously you don't have to be Japanese to run a Japanese restaurant, but at least do the bare minimum of service that is uniquely Japanese. AMBIANCE 2/5: the set up and decorations felt all over the place, nothing was a cohesive design. It's as if they just went to Ross and found anything Asian inspired (not specifically Japanese) and purchased it. FOOD 3/5: it wasn't anything to write home about. I did enjoy the scallop nigiri but it was $6.50 for 2 pc. Presentation of nigiri was wild too, they put 2 nigiri on a 12 in platter lol it's as if they ran out of small plates? The grilled squid was what got our attention to come here and it was ok. It was grilled fine, just the way i like it. I did like that hint of ume or shiso they sprinkled in there but the dish also came at the end, after I've already eaten my entre. It was Iisted as a hot appetizer but came after the entre, so I ate it without any rice. The lava roll was very good and there was an abundance of imitation crab meat on top. The "angry dragon" roll was interesting because they used pink tofu skin, which i thought was unique. Flavorwise, not as spicy as the name insinuates. I did appreciate the water tasted smooth and not like faucet water. COST 2/5: obviously, prices are high everywhere now and on top of that this is a sushi restaurant. We paid $80 something inc tip for miso soup, 3 rolls and 1 grilled squid. I definitely feel it is a little pricey and I'm not willing to pay $40/person when the food is mid and service is subpar. Overall, I'd give this place a 2/5. There were a couple of enjoyable food items, but the lack of basic hospitality, scattered ambiance, awkward timing of dishes, and higher price point made the experience feel underwhelming. For about $40 per person, I expected more than mid-tier food and subpar service.

We loved how crunchy the dynamite roll was. I loved my hibachi proteins; they were better and a lot larger portions than dedicated hibachi places. Everything was cooked great; the shrimp and tofu had a nice, semi crunchy sear on them, and the veggies and chicken were also flavorful and tender. The fried rice was ok; I didn't notice any egg. The food was ready super quick; I was very impressed how fast they got it all out (5/5). The interior is clean and simple (4/5). Overall, for a fast casual place, this is hard to beat!

Got the grilled chicken & steak, which was solid. The grilled chicken had a great char flavor, while the steak tasted like something you'd eat at a hibachi restaurant. The fried rice wasn't oily or dry, best part was how's the portion was. Got a side of 6 piece gyoza which was meat and vegetable filled; that was also non oily and fried just right. Took about 7-8 minutes for the order to come out which was a fast then around. Plenty of room for dining & facilities were pretty clean. They also have other menu items like bubble teas and ramen. Definitely a diverse menu, will certainly be back.

We had all of our raw dishes brought to the table and then no follow up with sauces and rice and we actually had to get up to find a manager to get served. They forgot our utensils for cooking too. Actually pretty bad. The service of neglecting actually began to piss us off. They have an automatic gratuity, which is unfortunate because they certainly dropped the ball last night. And they know it. The manager knew it. Amber knew it. They were busy so I'll give them that, but we really feel, as a party at six, that we were literally forgotten about. And there's way too many places to eat to have to endure that. If they're busy, I would move on.....if I were you. If they're slow, give them a try.

We visited on a Thursday evening and it was not overcrowded. They do accept reservations. We didnt have one but we're still seated immediately. Cute and cozy setting. Felt clean. You have the option to cook your meal at the table or oder from the kitchen. The orange blood martini was delicious! The truffle fries came out hot, crisped to perfection. I'm not a huge fan of mayonnaise, but they brought out a mayonnaise aoli with lemon flavor to dip the fries and it was amazing. Now, the entree. I wanted to love it. The noodles were like a rice noodle, thin and transparent looking. I wrapped a little on my fork like I do with sphaghetti. ...I almost choked because the noodles would not break when I tried to chew them. I then tried cutting the noodles with my fork and then with a knife. They were cooked well but they were hard to break down. I literally had to force my fork to cut them and could only take extremely small bites. The flavors were good but it was way too much WORK. I dont recommend this 1 dish but I would come back to try other options on the menu.
