I get the teriyaki chicken lunch special, which comes with an incredible amount of delicious, char-grilled chicken, sitting upon a generous amount of rice, and with a green salad dressed in a delicate poppyseed dressing. This is always enough for at least two meals for me. Oh, and it comes with a fountain drink of your choice. All this for only about $11.50. There is a small, but comfortable dining room, but I tend to order takeout, and I'm pleased that they're willing to take my order over the phone so that I don't have a long wait when I get there. Located in the corner of the dollar tree parking lot. The menu is decent. Specials from 12-2 select plates come with a drink. I grew up on food like this. The rice is cooked perfectly, the chicken is charbroiled and iceberg lettuce with a sweet poppy seed dressing. Overall this place has good food and flavor. The portions are good and prices are fair. I used to come here quite a bit but the food quality has gone down hill really bad. I love the steak teriyaki which they had an upgraded rib eye option and it used to be tender and good. Now when you buy it it's just impossibly chewy and nothing but fat and gristle. I am assuming what they one trimmed off is now part of the menu is every bite, I literally spit out ten pieces of every bite because it was just fat and tendons and gristle. Congratulations on losing a very regular customer. I am definitely going elsewhere when ever I get a craving for a teriyaki place. I understand prices of everything are going up, but in the long run losing customers is far more expensive then just continuing to serve good product and not cheating your customers because you feel the need to compensate for a few bucks lost here and there. And this review comes from a very very regular customer. I probably estimated spend $3,000 a year just in teriyaki places because me and my family love it. I come here every once in a while and I can say I'm never dissatisfied. Food is always great. Service is pretty good as well, no complaints at all. There is a small amount of seating but it's a small place that's most likely for to go orders. Only complaint I could give to this place is when you get a meal, it comes with a salad that tastes amazing but they put it in the box that your rice and meat comes in so it can get warm and soggy. Pretty small portion for $7.95... asked for no rice all salad...I received less than half the portion of chicken I usually get. Went home and called them to see if they changed their portions, girl just laughed and passed the phone to someone else. Teriyaki Spice serves up some decent food at reasonable prices. We have ordered through Yelp and at their window. I usually order the Tofu Yakisoba. I have ordered it with three different. The first time I requested extra spice, it was a wee bit too much. The second time no extra heat and the flavor fell flat The last time that I ordered I requested medium spice level. (I wrote this in the notes on the app) but I imagine they only have one level and, it's hot. I suggest that you request the chili-sauce on the side and add it yourself to control the level of heat. The Yakisoba it is mostly noodles with some tofu (not crispy) a few carrot slices and bits of cabbage. The last time I ordered I requested extra cabbage. Three of us were meeting for lunch. One had visited and even placed large orders in the past for a group. She wanted us to try because she knew we'd love it. We did. The place is small with little seating inside. I think this is really the only negative. It won't accomodate a large group unless you want to eat outside but weather isn't always pleasant in Woodland. It was also a little confusing on how to order but actually no problem at all. The menu is on the wall. It consists of names and pictures of the food ... just like in Japan. There are lots of soft drink choices. You can select your own bottle out of the refrigerator in front or have the server get you one from the fountain in the back. Server was pleasant and efficient. The food was amazing. It was so delicious. We all loved it from the chicken teriyaki to the yakisoba noodles and even the teriyaki burger. No negatives here. Teriyaki Spice is a small restaurant with a few tables inside and outside, so you'll probably want to plan to order out if you eat here. They have a decent variety of options and the prices are fair for what you get, especially if you take advantage of their discounted lunch specials. The food itself is good. The chicken was cooked well and even had fresh grill marks on it, but the rice was mushy and the teriyaki sauce was lacking. Their vegetable options are limited but decent. COVID-19 update: I've continued ordering pickup from Teriyaki Spice and I'm happy to report that they have done a good job adapting their business practices to meet COVID-19 safety guidelines. All of their employees wear masks and gloves and they are takeout only since the initial lockdown. They do use a community pen to sign for credit, so I recommend bringing your own pen. read more
