We moved into our home about 3 weeks ago and realized I was being eaten alive by something at night. Our house is 170 years old so of course we thought there was something lurking beneath the floorboards. James Hurst came out to do a bed bug inspection for us (didn't find any!! Yay!), then offered to check around for fleas and termites as well! He even found the holes in our house where mice snuck in and gave us some sticky traps. Previously to James coming out, we had been no showed by Terminix 4 times (Reason for the 4 stars). James called me at about 10am today and said he would come between 3-5 and he showed up right at 4! His customer service was top notch and he was extremely friendly. He educated me on what things might look like if we had them, even showed me pictures from his work experience. They sent an old man to treat my 91 year old Mom's home for some mice. He was half deaf, & said he'd do a follow-up, but no one could reach him@ the phone# on his business card, including the company. He never followed up. Nor did the company. My sister called 3 times, & the last time she screamed@ them, I was ready to do so & may still. They 'used' to be a good service, but they've gone down the toilet. They also charged my Mom's credit card when she, specifically, told them she wanted to write a check. They finally sent somebody for follow-up but it was the same idiot old man. Long time overdue for this review. The technician who came to the home started a fire and didn't acknowledge this but rather we noticed a burn mark on an art print leaning against a ceramic fireplace. The switch to turn the fireplace was tapped but he still turned it on and didn't notice the art print had caught fire. When we returned to our home, all the doors were open to vent the smoke. The next time he came to home to treat for pests he acknowledged the damage. After practically begging him for his bosses phone number he gave it. Call thos number for 2 months without a single return call. The technician informed me the he not his boss had business cards. Don't ever use these people. They will damage your home and run. NEVER EVER call Terminix. I work with various contractors in the commercial and residential construction industry and I have never had a worse experience than what I had with Terminix. They don't deserve 1 star, they deserve to be shut down. I called them out to my home because I had mice running around and needed help getting rid of them. I signed up with Terminix for roughly $1300 to take care of everything. After signing up, I never heard from them again. After a few months I called and cancelled but they were telling me I still owed the total amount. I have called them multiple times and every time they don't give me a straight answer. I get automated calls everyday saying my account is past due. On top of that, the inspector lied about seeing evidence of mice in an area in the basement that upon later inspection, was clean and clear. They are scammers and have given me the biggest headache out of every company I've ever dealt with. My advice would be to look to local pest control contractors because they will provide the best service. read more

We had scheduled an appointment with them in advance- they never showed up and never called to let us know. Plus, they rescheduled this appointment for two days later and never notified us of this, either. When I called to complain, their Customer Service Rep was rude to me. Never again! read more

If you would like to throw your money away, make sure to hire Terminix. I hired Terminix to remove a rat infestation in my basement. We began using this company in May of 2023. We paid $1800 for their Exclusion Plan. They have been to my home seven times. Since hiring them we still have rats in our basement. They do not return calls and when they do decide to schedule you, they do not call ahead or give any indication of their timing. The call center does not connect to a person who can actually help. The "Exclusion Plan" is basically sticky traps and caulking from outside homes "that might be connected. " Are the rats winning? Yes. Did Terminix take my money without even a shed of real work to eliminate my problem? Yes. Can I buy sticky traps? Yes. There is zero "expertise" here folks. SAVE YOUR MONEY. read more

Worst service ever! Paid for pest service for 2 years with no issues and recently added the exclusion plan due to a mouse issue. Initial tech came out and did not complete the services that was stated on the contract. Was told that my dryer vent needed a special cover and tech didn't have it - 4 techs later and still nothing. Appointments cancelled with no notice multiple times. Openings that were to be closed still not completed. I am very upset about the service that I have received after spending $1300. Tried speaking with the manager and they won't allow you or have a direct number. The number for the branch listed sends you to the 800 number. read more

I made an appointment for 1:00. He called at 11:00 called me Sarah, not my name. I should have known. I left a message letting him know. He called at 2:00 to cancel after I had waited for an hour. He rescheduled for the same time the next day. Once again I waited but this time he didn't even bother to call. This company doesn't care at all about their customers. We had Terminix perform pest control at my daughter's Strongsville home. They were more than happy to take our hefty payment to have them replace the insulation in the attic. I heard crinkle noises coming from my toddler sons ceiling on Tuesday. My husband came home and found a bees nest right above his room. I called Terminex that day and they said they can come Wednesday (the next day) between 1-5. I called at 430 to see if they were still coming. They said it had been rescheduled to Thursday and I never got a call for that. So now the second sleepless night for me because I'm terrified they're going to get into his room. These people are horrible. I would not recommend using this company for anything. From the salesman to the office workers, they do not care about the customer. They just care about the money. The actual tech that came out to spray was the only person that understood what "customer service" means. The salesman had me sign a contract, which he told me was just the form allowing the tech to come out. Never mentioned a contract. My bad on that one. About 3 weeks later I called to pay my year in advance. I paid the amount quoted to me by the rep and they TOOK an additional $120 or so out THE VERY NEXT DAY! When I asked why they told me that the representative gave me the wrong dollar amount. They refused to refund that money. So I feel like they stole $120 from me. We called Terminix because we thought we had mice. They took photos in two attic crawl spaces showing mouse droppings. We spent thousands of dollars on recommended insulation that was supposed to deter mice, and they supposedly closed up some holes. It turns out the insulation only went into one of the crawl spaces. When we started hearing more noises Terminix technicians kept coming back but had nothing to add. Finally we called another company who saw evidence of squirrels and bats in the larger attic space, and caught the squirrel in a cage within a day. They indicated that the holes weren't closed well and that the insulation should not have been put in on top of the old insulation. And Terminix never told us we had bats. I called Terminix to complain and the operator said someone would call me but no one did. read more

I had 2 wonderful ladies come to my house and exterminated my first floor on January 26th. I asked about having my attic exterminated and they made me an appointment for January 31, 2022 with James Harding. Mr. Harding came out to my home and said that I had a mice infestation and there was a rotting mouse in the attic. I sent 2 people up there and there were no rotting mouse or mice infestation. James Harding told that it would be $7,000 to fix the problem. I couldn't afford that so they had another plan for $1,700. That would seal the holes in the house. He lied and tried to scam me out of $7,000 or more. Terrance Reed, Cleveland Branch Manager, tried to defend his worker by claiming he is the number one service technician. I am still waiting for Mr. Reed to call me back. I am outraged. I worry about the families that fell for the mice infestation scam. Now, I am out of money because of his lie. I used another company but I am still out of some money that I didn't have to spend. I terminated my services with them because I don't trust that company anymore!! I want to give them no stars. zero stars! Signed up with them in Jan 2022, did not perform services, took pics and noted my account of another persons work. Office doesn't return calls and only when I was finally able to get ahold of a regional manger after really digging and calling, did a tech show up and still didn't perform what was asked. The manager also told me he would be coming as well just to make sure job was done correctly....never showed up. Asked for refund after paying $1200 for service that they never did and was told they couldn't refund me. Canceled service 6/1/22 to make sure I was not renewed in 2023. Came out unscheduled a few times to my house in 2022 and took pics of work THEY DID NOT PERFORM and again noted my account as though they had done this work. Wasn't charged for 2023 and had no techs show up bc I had canceled service.(so I thought) 12/29/23 a tech show up, unscheduled, I tell him I cancel service more than a year ago an am using another company. (All caught on doorbell camera) I later get a text saying the "work on my home" had been completed. I called to make sure service was canceled, again, they tell me it was and it was an "scheduling accident". A couple of weeks later, I start receiving calls saying they need to schedule my annual service call. On 1/12/24 I tell him I don't not want service and please make sure it is canceled. He says it is and he'd remove me from the list...again. Today 1/19/24 I received a charge of almost $200 from them for a year of service. I called and the first guy Jozell tells me he is requesting a refund but doesn't show the account was ever canceled. He sends me to another lady to actually cancel the account who repeatedly tells me there are no notes on my account for it to be canceled and has been an ongoing service for me since Jan 2022. I ask her if I didn't cancel, why was I not charge in 2023 and no service was provided during that year? She tells me my account says they have been there and I was charged. I ask for her name or an employee ID # and she hangs up on me. I call back and speak with another rep who reads me the notes on my account and tells me she sees in my account that I called and canceled 6/1/22 but the rep had failed to do so. I also notice that my account had never been noted the various times I had called in 2022 to complain about not receiving service and falsified claims of services. (They would come and take pics of the outside of my house of work that I hired someone to do and again note my account as if it was something they had done). I contacted and filed a report with the BBB. I DO NOT recommend this company at all. I contacted a company called "Outta here pest control" and have been with them since. He's been amazing and I haven't had a problem since hiring him. read more

Never showed up for multiple appointments that were scheduled. We needed a termite inspection for a VA loan and since there are very few places that can do this we kept rescheduling. The first two appointments were cancelled by the tech a few hours before via telephone. The last appointment he didn't show or call. We called the toll free number and the call center put us on hold for 20 minutes then disconnected the call. Unbelievable! read more

I ordered mouse exclusion services. The contractor told me all the work that was going to be performed. Gave me a quote said if I was unhappy with the service there was a money back guarantee. I had to have them come out multiple time to even do some of the work they promised to do. Never sealed the old coal chute or my basement door. Stuffed a few pieced of steel wool into my vinyl siding corners laid 6 glue traps, never caught a single mouse. The technicians were rude and just pointed the finger at one another. When I asked for a refund they told me services had been rendered. Do not do business with them I lost thousands of dollars. You can get the same quality mouse control, by sitting on your ass an letting them breed. They are not professional except as sales people. I reiterate they have not caught or stopped a single mouse. I finally just bought a cat and it in three days has killed more mice than the termini people did. I still want a refund and this company should be put out of business. read more

Wish I would have read several of the reviews on this page, before I scheduled my service. I probably would have marked it up to an honest mistake, and tried anyway. I called Terminix first thing in the morning, and got a time for service between 3-5 that same afternoon. So far I was impressed, and excited, as we are having an issue with fleas, and with 2 small children in the house, it's an important issue that needed remedied as soon as possible. The customer service rep on the phone was friendly and direct, and promised we could get this taken care of, with impressive guarantees, and prompt, friendly service. Needless to say, we signed up for the service, and began knocking out the prep work needed to be done before the exterminator arrived. As I work midnights, this consisted of me staying up to give our pets a bath, put up all clutter and kids toys on the floor, doing laundry, vacuuming, etc. With a newborn and toddler, it was easier said than done. So after all prep work completed, we waited... finally got a call at 4:45. It was the exterminator calling, saying that it would be impossible for him to make it today. He asked what time would be best for the following day. I'm not usually one to complain about much. If he had to push it back a few hours, I would understand, as my day was already spent preparing for this visit. But to pull out of an agreed upon time, and casually say let's do this tomorrow, as if we have nothing better to do that wait for them for another day, is totally unacceptable. When I schedule service and agree upon a time with a company, especially one as big as Terminix, I expect them to hold up their end of the bargain. They could honestly call me back and say they could give me free service for life, and my response would still be no. I'm just appreciative that here in America, we have a choice of many more Pest services that would appreciate my time and business. read more

Like others here, I wish I'd read these reviews before starting service, but unfortunately a rat emergency made me contact the first company I could think of. That has been my worst decision to date because 8 months in, my issue is still not resolved and no one at this branch seems to care. Every time I've contacted for an appointment, I've been given a date/time that doesn't work for me, and it's been like pulling teeth to reschedule something that does. I would give their customer service on the back end zero stars. For the most part, their techs are friendly, however I purchased my own black lights after the second time the tech came and claimed a coworker had his so he couldn't track the food he'd put down three visits prior. When he came again, same excuse so MY black lights were used. Scheduled an appointment for today and it is now 3 hours past the service window with zero contact from the tech. I've called the 800 number 3 times to try and get an update and was literally told "just go about your day doing what you have to, and when the tech calls it'll be 30 minutes out so try to be back in time. If you can't, you can reschedule." but the only future opening that works for me is 2 weeks from now. At this point - with rodents still in our basement - this is a HEALTH issue and it is appalling that a company ranked 2nd in North America (in terms of revenue) would treat their customers this way. I will never recommend Terminix to anyone, because it's not worth the hassle. read more

We got ripped off! We hired Terminix to spray the outside of our house quarterly for spiders. They then talked us into purchasing a very expensive plan to get rid of mice, since we had seen two small mice in the garage. The "technicians" arrived and laid about 25 glue traps which I could have bought for 10 bucks at Home Depot around the garage and basement. They didn't even replace the garage door seal, which they said was the problem. We have spent the last two months calling, emailing, and texting Terminix to get them to come back and finish the job or refund some of the cost, which they also said they would do. Don't hire Terminix unless you want to throw your money away! read more

Worst company ever! It's a scam! Tecs were here for 10 mins and most likely sprayed water on the bottom of the house and lightly dusted and guaranteed their work and didn't even get down spider webs and eggs. So I called to complain and they set up a day to come back and nobody showed up that day. They have no logs of me calling and them setting up a day to come back. So I called again and they said I didn't call within 30 days. They only keep the call logs they want and lie. They do a crappy job. Don't waste your money here. We discovered we had a reoccurance of termites and called our local Terminex to help solve the issue. After the service was completed, we presented the serviceman with a promotional coupon we had received in the mail for $100 off a termite treatment plan. The agent would not honor the coupon - despite it being current and valid. I was told to contact the branch manager. Now, after 2 weeks of phone calls, being put on hold and assured it would be credited to my card I am still waiting. I called back again and was told I would hear from Mr. Thomas Taiazza personally. He has yet to follow through. What is the point of issuing such coupons if you know how complicated you make the process? These folks are not honest or customer service oriented. read more

If I could rate Terminix with negative stars, I would. Not only have we paid for our service 5 months ago that we have yet to receive, but their customer service protocol is absolutely the worst. You will not receive any type of resolution when dealing with their customer service center, merely an assurance that they have placed a note on your account and there will be a follow up, because that is clearly the fastest way to resolve an issue (sarcasm). Trying to reach your local Terminix , instead of dealing with the polite yet unhelpful representatives in their Dallas call center will not be a possibility. All of their local telephone listings will simply forward you to the call center where your frustration will be met with an "I'm sorry, let me place you on hold while I send an email to try to resolve your problem as I am incapable of actually speaking with anyone on a higher pay grade directly". FOLLOWUP EDIT #2 - Cannot have been 20 minutes since I was told my number was on the do not call list by Customer Service rep and the phone rang. Guess who was calling to ask me to rate the Customer Service person. FOLLOWUP EDIT - Not sure how this thing identified me as being in California. I am in Cleveland, OH area. Also, the only reason they got a "1" was because you had to assign a rating to be able to post. Let's start with the fact the services were provided by the Middleburg Heights, OH office on Engle Road. But, you can not talk to them because all listed numbers are answered by the customer service center in Texas. Very nice very friendly people, but not very effective. Everything you ask for has to be sent to the local office to be executed - that would be the people you can not talk to because they provide no contact information. Was sold a service by a person I assume to be a salesperson - after several no shows to appointments that required I stay at home and wait for the person. That person wrote up work order and took my credit card. Service person missed first few appointments and then showed up. Nice friendly guy. Has been back three times since, and I am not convinced that the service was effective. Then they hit my creidt card for more money. Number one, we had a contract which I had fulfilled, number two I never gave permission for them to save the CC number and use it again. After multiple calls we did get the extra money back. Salesperson then sold us a quarterly contract by misrepresenting what the contract did. Took multiple calls to determine that we had been lied to and to get that contract nullified. Just told the customer service people to never call us again (half a dozen times in the last week). Never got a written contract for the original service or the quarterly service we signed up for on the basis of misrepresentation. Thinking strongly about filing complaints with BBB and State Attorney General Office. Will not be using this company in the future. There must be someone out there who can schedule and fulfill appointments effectively, not out and out lie to your face about what they are providing, and actually perform a service that effectively deals with the problem at hand. If I could give a rating of 0 I would. I called Terminix 3/2/22 to trap a skunk under my deck. They came out day of and I agreed to skunk removal and an exclusion service to place wire fencing under my deck so animals could not get back under. The salesman told me they needed a card on file to start the service. Later, I found that they charged the entire fee for the service ($1,600) before anything was ever completed. The next day a tech dropped off a trap and did not speak to me. I called on 3/16/22 after not trapping anything to express that I was displeased with the lack of communication on their part to check if anything had been caught or instructions on what to do if an animal was trapped. I expressed that by now, the skunk had moved on and I did not want any of their services and requested the money be returned to my card. The woman on the phone talked with the branch manager who told me the services were completed and I could schedule another service if I wanted work done. NO services had been completed! The manager reminded me that "I signed a contract" and the woman on the phone tried to rectify the situation by scheduling them to preform the exclusion service on 3/18 between 5-7. No one ever showed up. I called again on 3/19 stating I wanted a refund because of how extremely awful the service had been. The man on the phone escalated the issue to the regional manager who was supposed to call me on 3/21 to help resolve the issue. He never called. I called AGAIN 3/23 and the woman on the phone issued a cancellation and refund request which was supposed to be responded to within 24-48 hours. Today it is 3/28 and I STILL have received no response or assistance with my issues. I have never received worse customer service and I will never use or recommend Terminix ever again. I am just hoping at this point that I can receive my refund after all the issues I have encountered. I never write bad reviews for companies, but this is AWFUL. read more

VERY UNPROFESSIONAL - from the person making the appointment - to the guy that came out to do the inspection. When I called Middleburg I got a recording "they were not making appointments at this time" - so I called the 866# and they said they would call back - which didn't happen - the guy just showed up at my door at 9 AM - we asked him to come back so we could get dressed because he just woke us up and no one called us back with an appt time. Then when he came back he was at the wrong door so I went to the other door and opened it up and he didn't even wait to come in before he loudly asked "if we had bed bugs" - several neighbors were outside and heard him - VERY UNPROFESSIONAL - then he didn't even do an inspection - he gave us a price and left. So if you don't want your neighbors to come over anymore just have Brian Lutch come over and shout on the rooftop - "You got bed bugs!!" - haven't had a neighbor come over since. I WOULDN'T TRUST these people to do any work in my house as UNPROFESSIONAL as they are! read more

Finally after two and a half hours the technician who was suppose to come out, called me, and said he was finishing up at another job that was a half hour away from me. The work that was done was ok, but trying to get someone to call you or show up on-time is very difficult. The original call was for a raccoon in the attic and birds in the soffits. The technicians showed up very late for the appointment, and they cleaned out the insulation where the raccoon was (he had already left) and re-insulated. They found the entry point and installed some hardware cloth to prevent reentry. The soffit in the back was repaired, but to my dismay I heard birds the next day. I called them several times to complain, but no phone call or acknowledgement to come back. I was able to pop the soffit and let the birds out and let it go. He it is a few months later, and the birds are back. I called to have a warranty service call, but they have missed at least 4 appointments. When they finally came the guy did not have the correct ladder to reach the high point in the soffit where the baby birds were, and said he would return in a day. Again, to my dismay, the next day I hear baby birds up in the soffit. He had already closed up and sealed the lower soffit (where the birds were gaining entry) and now mommy bird could not get to babies. I understand the birds were probably going to be euthanized, but to cut off food and water from an animal, to me, is just wrong. Well the appointment time came and went, and when I called I was told they were short-handed and probably couldn't make it. I would receive a call to reschedule. I received no such call. Terminix is has been the worst service company I have ever had to work with. I would never recommend them to anyone. I should have just performed the work myself. The cost of me buying the right ladders and equipment would have been much less expensive, and I would at least know the job was being done right. read more

This company doesn't even deserve ONE star. I have tried reaching out to the branch manager SEVERAL times. Spoke to SEVERAL customer service reps who supposedly emailed their managers and wrote in their notes about how horrible my service was. Once a manager reached out to me, service came to my house after months of requesting. As soon as they arrived, the one lady said she is wearing black so she can't get any dog hair on her. Are you SERIOUS? After being with this company for a year, there is and has been no resolution to the problem in my household. Not only did they give us incorrect mattress covers, the last service I had said they should have been changed MONTHS ago due to activity. I came home after my Terminix associate Todd Yourniewixz, serviced our home to find a bag hanging from the front door handle. Inside the bag was a copy of the services he provided, and a yellow log sheet with the time he arrived and left, the month of next service, and most importantly a note from him. The note had said that he had found $100 bill laying by our steps. And sure enough, there was a $100 bill in the bag. I looked around for candid camera or something and called the office to commend this person. I appreciate honesty from people, and felt that he went above and beyond the call of duty! Every service person from your company is very polite and very thorough with explaining things and answering questions. read more
