They are always fast to serve us, and if there are any meats we haven't gotten, they will ask us which meat we would like and they will bring it right to the table. The food is delicious as well! The salad bar has great options and the maple bacon is to DIE for! If you don't see it going around, as for the cheese with the honey! Terra Gaucha considered themselves a nice up scale restaurant and is relatively upscale establishment based on the decor and how the employees are dressed. Now that the description of the establishment is done, let's get started with the experience. My wife made a 3 person reservation for 7:00pm which was a complete waste of time seeing as how it still took them 23 minutes to actually seat us. The hostesses were pretty rude in regards to checkin us in and when we inquired how much longer we would have to wait the response received was "you are next". Within 10 minutes the hostess sat two other 3 person parties AFTER telling us we were next. As for the lobby, their Christmas tree blocks most of the seating and people waiting go be seated were packed in like sardines. Legitimately speaking, I have been to bus stations better organized and managed than how Terra Gaucha manages their intakes. So if you are looking to choose this restaurant for a nice date night....DON'T. Unless you want to stand around awkwardly in a very crowded waiting area. The entire dining experience was overall just unpleasant due to how loud, agitating, and close they put the tables together. The cold bar was delicious with so many different, unique dishes. We had a coupon for a BOGO which we told them when we sat down. They said give it to them at the end. They offered us a free dessert since it was our anniversary. We ordered the crème brûlée and we were asked if we wanted it lit on fire. We said of course! Well then we were told that because we had the coupon we couldn't have the free dessert after the fact and charged us $10 for the alcohol to light it on fire. I wish they would have told us all this from the beginning. It ended up being much more expensive than we expected. Finally got a chance to try out this fancy all you can eat Brazilian steak house. It was super crowded but our service was on point. We were with a large party, so after they took our drinks order, it took a while for them to bring those out. But as soon as we got the drinks, we got started Don the salads and sides right away. The steaks, salmon and chicken were coming like a storm, serving hot by the waiters that come by our table, they were coming by so fast that I didn't get a chance to eat mine slowly, overall, the seasonings were great, some were more cooked and more salty than others. My favorite was the mushrooms at the salad bar, those were DELICIOUS!! I also got the papaya mousse dessert, tasted like a Smoothie served in a glass cup with a spoon, it was super refreshing especially after eating all the meats. No pictures of the delicious food, but I would highly recommend this place for a Brazilian steakhouse. The hostess was very friendly and seated us quickly. One of the servers explained how it works. We went up to the incredible salad and hot food bar. Wow! I could have stopped there and been completely satisfied. When I returned to the table, I started feeding our 11 month old granddaughter mashed potatoes and cheeses from the selection. She's a very good eater and enjoyed whatever I put in front of her. Oh my god this place is amazing. Our server Alexandra was always on point to ask us how we were doing. She chatted with us and let us know about the different alcoholic drinks they had to offer. The rest of the staff would stop by and offered us different slices of meats at different cooked temperatures (medium rare, well done). The ambiance of the place is 5 star wait service. So where do I start? Well..... 1) Terra Gaucha's "Rodizio Experience" as most Churrascarias would term as "full dining experience", where you eat just about anything they offer, is really top notch. That includes their Fresh and Hot Bar as well as their unlimited Sides. You get around 16 combined items of Seafood, Pork, Beef and Chicken to soothe your appetite. Terra Gaucha also includes seafood items such as Shrimp Skewers and Fire Roasted Salmon, while seafood items like these at other Churrascarias is considered a separate item or an entrée. This makes Terra Gaucha the best pound for pound, best value in my opinion. 2) Terra Gaucha's meats and seafood is always consistently tasty, well-seasoned, marinated and well cooked. It keeps you yearning for more. 3) The Gauchos (the servers that comes around with different cuts of meats; if that's what they are called) are fast. They come walking out that kitchen as if they are part of a Paris Model show. They surely do not miss a beat. All in all... Soooooo I debated writing this review because they have so many already and are loved dearly by our city / YelpJax community. It dawned on me there isn't enough explanation for a pescatarian or seafood lover like myself. I gave up beef years ago and I had been to other Brazilian steakhouses but Terra Gaucha is its own experience. Seafood Fans: our card is blue for service and red of course like the standard for no service. They have salmon and shrimp. Which unlike other Brazilian steakhouses I've been to that bring out a plate of salmon they offer you buffet service seafood as well which was nice I did not expect to eat so much and be so full. Gluttony is a sin, I said I needed to repent after dinner! Lol It was a great experience, amazing food flavors and sauces (for salmon and shrimp). The service we received was stellar from everyone. They kept clean plates on the table for us and I didn't ever have an empty glass. Salad bar was nice (get the shrimp salad ) ! Also the mashed potatoes were amazing, creamy goodness! I had the pleasure of trying Terra Gaucha Brazilian Steakhouse. I won dinner for two on an Instagram contest. Just because I didn't pay doesn't mean I won't be honest in my review. I did pay for my adult beverage and dessert. My friend and I had a reservation for 6:30 PM, on a Friday. We waited only a minute or two to be seated. We were seated near the back of the restaurant. I liked how the restaurant was set up with different seating areas which made for a more intimate setting. We started off with the salad bar. So many options! This is where you get the vegetables to go with your meal. Honestly, I did not look at the menu so I'm sure you can probably order some sides if you want. The salad bar of course had salad, but also had asparagus, mushrooms, apple salad, tomatos topped with mozzarella and balsamic, and so much more! I can't forget to mention the items brought to our table that were replenished throughout our meal. There were cooked plantains which were super good and the most amazing Brazilian cheesy bread to which I am now obsessed! They sell the cheesy bread by the dozen. I was tempted, but did not need to take home that much bread LOL! Once we were ready for the meat, we turned our card over to green and along came all the good stuff. I tried several different types of steak, but my favorite was the filet mignon wrapped with bacon! So tender and juicy, packed with flavor. My second favorite meat was the lamb chop. WOW! Melted in my mouth! Sorry, but I can't tell you about the chicken because I didn't eat any LOL! We had flan for dessert which we shared. We couldn't finish it, but not because it wasn't good, but because we were stuffed! So many staff wait on you at Terra Gaucha. All of our interactions were professional and pleasant. My water glass was never empty. Staff were checking on us regularly to make sure we were good. Absolutely a marvelous first experience at a Brazilian steakhouse! Fantastic service. Every time I have been here the staff make the place. The food- very good. The salad bar is upscale and attractive. The items are uniformly well presented and kept full all the time. The candied bacon is YUM. The shrimp salad is nicely done, and the chipped parmesan cheese is a nutty salty delight. The lobster bisque is nice, perfect texture. The room is just a bit crowded but the decor is very nice and they are constantly cleaning. The staff are coming by so often you cannot imagine how they do it all night like that but they do. And everyone has a smile. The meat selection is good. I am not a fan of most of the cuts they carry, however, the filet is good. There is a parmesan chicken that is nice. The ribeye is tasty. Also the small sausages have a great flavor. My husband and I frequent Fogo de Chao but heard good things about Terra Gaucha and thought we'd give it a try. We tried a different one in the area which was terrible so I was a bit apprehensive. We made reservations but still waited 35-40 mins before being seated; it was an extremely busy Saturday with two large parties. I think it was the manager(?), stopped by briefly multiple times to ask how everything was, how the food was, and to check in to see if we had special requests. So attentive staff, just long wait. Definitely recommend a reservation which can be easily made via Google. The food was pretty good. Only thing with Brazilian steakhouses is that I usually end up with pieces closer to medium well rather than the medium rare I'm looking for which is fine. The people were in such a rush I was a bit overwhelmed and didn't even flip my card again because 3-4 people lined up when I did and I ended up with enough food already. Unfortunately when we went, the lobster bisque was burnt but it seemed like some people already complained and it was switched out. They have this spicy red onion "salad" that helps cut the fat and heaviness of the meats which I really liked! Also you can order salmon! It comes with skin. I did not like the mango salsa that it came with, so I'm glad I asked for it to be on the side. I read on a review they have chimichurri also so I requested it too. If you like chimichurri, highly recommend asking your server for some! Lastly, I was eyeing the drumsticks because they looked great but when I finally got one- I did not like the flavor. This restaurant was an amazing experience. We went tonight for my friends birthday and it was the four of us and everyone was so nice and the service was amazing. We were checked on multiple times by what I assume are managers or leads and they asked if there's any meats or anything we wanted more of and they were so accommodating to our requests. It was delicious , fresh and so filling. They also treated my friends birthday so special and gave him a free dessert. This place is such a gem. The $56 for the all you can eat salad bar , sides, lobster bisque, meats like steak, lamb, bacon wrapped chicken , shrimp and salmon is a great deal. My granddaughter wished to go to the Terra Gaucha Brazilian Restaurant, Jacksonville, for her birthday celebration, so I took my family of six adults there. The restaurant does not provide menus with prices but it is essentially a buffet restaurant, so how pricey could it be? Very pricey! The final bill for six people, no alcoholic beverages and no special orders, including a mandatory tip, was $450.17. The food was good, but not even close to seventy-five-dollars-per-person-for-a-buffet, good. I did not want to cast shade on the event, so I swallowed hard and silently paid the bill.
