I needed a Brooklyn rental with very specific lease requirements and Andrew Pratt was amazing.

I lived in Williamsburg for five years and had the pleasure of True Management being our property managers. They were always quick and communicative with service and I appreciated the ability to pay rent online, along with any maintenance requests through their portal. Would live in another True Management property in a heartbeat. If there was a way to filter through which apartments are managed by True, I'd choose those over any other options. They truly give a personal touch to what they do. Thanks Rob and team!

We have been living in a property managed by True Management for ten days. In that time, our…read morewashing machine has broken and almost flooded the apartment, our dishwasher was falling out of the island, our toilet has broken four times, and a section of our electrical grid has ceased to work, leaving us with no internet. Each time we have filed maintenance requests and called about an urgent issue, True Management has been entirely unresponsive, forcing us to call multiple times with limited to no response. This has meant that we have been without many of the essential amenities, like internet and a functioning toilet, that we are paying for as part of our lease. We are very disappointed in the inability of True Management to fulfill its basic responsibilities as a management company. Communication with True Management has been nearly impossible. We have had to call their urgent line multiple times, which is not an urgent line at all but is connected to an external call service with phone operators who are completely unable to help tenants or connect tenants to management. When we were able to speak with people from management, they asked US to communicate with the super to arrange service for the apartment, another task that should be their responsibility that they have failed to perform. Furthermore, inadequate communication prior to the move in meant that they had failed to clean or paint the apartment prior to our agreed upon move in time. Additionally, after we moved in we were informed that there was mold in the apartment that had not been remediated. We were forced to vacate the apartment on the day of our move in, which we were legally paying to reside in. Per our lease, we are entitled to an inspection of the apartment. In light of the many issues we have experienced since moving in ten days ago, we've requested an inspection. However, when we did so management complained about the cost of a mold evaluation and refused to follow up with us about arranging this inspection.

He also accommodated a follow-up viewing so that I could take measurements, which I really appreciated (and he even brought me a tape measure since I forgot mine.) In the short period we worked together, he was responsive at all times and didn't mind me bugging him with small questions. I would be happy to work with Rocco again down the road and will recommend him to friends of mine looking to find a place in Brooklyn.

We were able to schedule a viewing of three different apartments shortly after and my roommates and I found our dream home. Pat let us know when the apartment was going to be viewed again so we could put down a deposit and he held it for us for a month. The lease signing went smoothly even though Pat was unavailable due to a personal issue and had John finish the process with us. The only hitch was a miscommunication about the application fee which we thought was waived, but Pat rectified the issue by only having us pay half the fee.

Anywho, I was looking for an apartment for Nov. 1st in Williamsburg so I walked into Williamsburg Realty on October 5th and was approached by a friendly Austrian realtor T*(name withheld because he seemed like a nice person, just in a disorganized company) who offered to show me an apartment on the spot. I fell in love with the special apartment and put down a deposit. I thought my search was over. Happily! UNTIL... Almost 2 weeks later, this Realtor T* told me the "bad news" that the landlord of the apartment rejected my application and that a) there was nothing he could do and that b) sadly, he had no other apartments left in the area for a comparable price but "suggested I move to Queens." On a side note, when I visited this special apartment, a nice Mexican workman was doing repairs and the nice Realtor introduced him as "the apartment slave". I am certainly not politically correct by any means, but I felt like this comment was in very poor taste. And that he wasn't such a nice Realtor. WIlliamsburg Realty should not be allowed to take deposits for apartments until they are sure that their tenants do in fact have the apartment. It is so stressful and I do not recommend this agency. I had to scramble to find an apartment a week before my lease was up and Realtor T* never returned my calls when I asked him to recommend any apartments. Only when did I visit the agency and cry in front of the Realtor T* did he apologize to me for the stress his lack of communication had caused me. Lastly, anytime I went into Williamsburg Realty, everyone working there seemed gloomy and unfriendly. Just really bad vibes all around, but on a positive closing note, they did have nice pillows of a map of the world at the entrance which I wish I could go in and ask where they bought them but that might be a little AWKWARD considering the aforementioned incident! Sorry but it's true!
