I started scrolling through Yelp, but nothing really caught my attention until I came across this café. Before heading to my final destination, I decided to stop in, and I'm so glad I did. I'll admit, I was a little nervous walking in. I'm a huge introvert, so dining alone isn't usually my thing. I'm normally the person ordering DoorDash, but I really wanted to step outside of my comfort zone. From the moment I walked through the door, the server greeted me with such kindness and warmth that my nerves immediately started to fade. Then I had the pleasure of meeting Executive Chef Tyler, who was incredibly welcoming, uplifting, and genuinely interested in getting to know me, even after learning I was visiting from out of state. He introduced me to the owner, Bozena, and I shared a little about my European background and how I was simply looking for a meal that would make me feel at home again. I ordered the pierogies, Russian kielbasa, and borscht. Every single dish brought back memories of the food I grew up eating. It wasn't just delicious. It felt familiar, comforting, and authentic. One of my favorite moments was when Chef Tyler noticed my tattoo and immediately understood how meaningful finding this café was for me. Seeing how genuinely excited he was, along with the kindness shown by the server and Bozena, made me feel less like a customer and more like I was sitting down with family. That level of hospitality is something you don't come across every day. If I could give this place a rating higher than 5 stars, I absolutely would. It's a 100/10 in my book. The food is incredible, but what truly makes this place special are the people and the beautiful culture they share with every guest who walks through the door. It would be a great spot to take in a sunset (though sadly rain/clouds for my visit). The service was attentive and the food quick to be delivered. I got the Jager Schnitzel and could hear the pounding of the meat begin after I ordered! It was a generous portion and came with some of the cheesiest spaetzle I've ever had. While it was a quiet night when I visited (Sunday), another table in the restaurant raved about their food and how they had devoured it in short order. I'm hoping this Austrian inspired hideaway gets a little more of the attention it deserves soon. With a menu of hearty options, it would make the perfect apres ski dinner.

While deciding on dinner, we were approached a couple times by the 2 servers in the section. One was friendly, the other, not so much, rather indifferent and made us feel a little uncomfortable and not very welcome. This kind of set the tone for the rest of our night. We ordered the "family share" chateaubriand. We realize this is an expensive cut, but the portion is definitely not a sharing cut, around 4 oz. It is closer to a single entree. When it arrived, the plate was cold, like the meat was lukewarm and the cauliflower was ice cold. Again, we had to ask for silverware and plates for this "family style shareable" plate. We brought the cauliflower temperature up with the server and got new cauliflower after we were done with the rest of the meal. Also, I sat with an empty wine glass and no one stopped to ask if I needed another glass. When the servers did stop by, it was a short interaction and we never even had a chance to ask before they were already walking away. We saw so many people come in and out that they must be doing something right, but for us, our experience was mediocre. If our meal would have been the correct temperature (it was well prepared, just cold) and better execution on the service, we may have had a better experience.
