Guess I'm not coming here again! Maybe a new worker didn't know what they were doing, but today I ordered a bowl with two scoops of protein, shrimp and scallops, and look how little I got! Just six teensy shrimp and nine teensy scallop bits. (Eight in the pic because I ate one before taking the picture.) I immediately noticed that it was less food than usual and wondered "Where are my shrimp??? And did they forget the scallops?" So I picked through it looking for the shrimp and scallops, and that's what I found. I've been here several times before and they gave me SO much more food than this. The scoops of protein were hearty AND they were generous with the crab salad (shredded crabmeat, so it's a free protein scoops basically). This time there was barely any crabmeat. And the overall amount of food was far less than usual as well. Normally it's heaping, piled up so it touches the bottom of the lid. The lid adds about an inch of height, so that works out to a SIGNIFICANT additional amount of food. This time it didn't rise above the lid of the bowl at all, let alone up to the bottom of the lid. 3 stars because the food is good. Got the spicy ponzu sauce for the first time and that was really good too. But $15-20+ for a bowl is NOT cheap if you're going to give barely any food. All I can think is it's punishment for not tipping? (I paid in advance.) The tipping system is stupid, but I never skip on tips in tipping situations. Take-out is not a tipping situation! I might try them one more time, but I definitely won't pay in advance, and I'll check the food before leaving. Because if I had seen this stupid bowl before leaving, I would have asked if they had made a mistake. read more

Ok, five stars for the amazing customer service !! As a poké enthusiast I decided to give this place a try in February. I got the 2-scoop poké bowl. For this, I was given a paper and pencil to decide on my ingredients. This facilitated the whole process as I was given more time to decide rather than the typical rush at poké shops and the awkwardness of having to repeat yourself ten times lol. The honey walnut shrimp was so creamy it definitely stood out, making me want to keep eating shrimp after shrimp. After reading the reviews, I decided to give this place a try since it is right across from campus. But was a little disappointed in the food (poke), overall. I gave 2 stars because it's a nice restaurant. Looks very clean and well kept. When I went there was 2 males and one female working (I assume they were a family). They were very nice! Great customer service. Here comes the cons: (1) it was very pricey for a bowl of poke (3 scoops of fish w/ avocado). My total came out to be $15.09 for one bowl which I thought was a little high. (2) I got two scoops of salmon and one scoop of ahi tuna. The salmon tasted fine, however, the tuna tasted bad and was sour. It also had a weird smell to it. (3) In my opinion, there also wasn't enough sauce on the poke itself. Even after I asked her to add more (drizzle it on the top), I could not taste it the sauce at all. (4) the imitation crab was also weird and stringy. (5) cucumber slices were a little too large for my liking as well. overall the poke was not worth the $15, however, I do commend them on their customer service read more

It pains me to write this, as I don't like giving sub-par reviews for a place that is family/locally-owned, but I feel some constructive advice could help this place out. As advertised, this is a Poke/Mexican place, but the latter needs to be dropped. Turlock has no shortage of really great Mexican restaurants to choose from, so this offering is a bit of a head-scratcher. It would be one thing if they served some amazing Mexican fare, but sadly, that is not the case. The rice that came with my very tiny tacos was crunchy, as was the asada in my tacos. The portions are very small, and it was just a "meh" plate overall. Having said that, the potstickers were really good, and although we didn't order any poke, we heard from others who had that they were happy with their food. The service was very nice, and we appreciated seeing the family working so hard. This place has potential -- a poke place right across from campus definitely fills a void. I'd say scrap the Mexican part and replace it with ramen or an izakaya bar. Wishing this place luck! read more

There is an L-shaper bar that wraps the counter. Although I will say that fresh poke bowls and Mexican food make quite the interesting combination of food provided. This review is for the poke bowls we ordered. $12.99 got you an average, but mighty, sized bowl with 3 scoops of protein to choose from: salmon, tuna, ahi tuna, scallops, tofu and shrimp. Your base choices are mixed greens, brown rice, white rice or half and half. They will mix your protein choices with your choice of sauce. Served over your base with a bunch of toppings. $12.99 is a fair choice for what you get. Note that it's $1 more for avocado. We came in on the day after they opened right before they got busy with families coming in for dinner. Although they are still trying to work out their minor kinks that come with the opening of an establishment, I'm excited for this family-run business to get into their groove and their very exciting future. read more

There's no way anyone would've been able to tell this was a legit pole place just by driving by. Luckily I stumbled in there on a walk and found out. But yeah, we must keep this place in business at any cost! Who's with me!! UPDATE: now that I think about it, it's pretty pricy for what you get. The bowl is half-rice & unless you're standing their watching through the glass, you don't get much topping. Two scoops of meat isn't much at all. The scoops are small. ALWAYS ask for extra sauce. I had been wanting to try out Terracotta for a while now so I stopped in for a quick lunch. I will add that I did try to stop here another time but I found the location a bit confusing to access so I left. This time was no different. It's strange that you park in the back and have to walk around the buildings to get in the front door. When I entered i immediately wish I had t gone in as it was very unwelcoming and looked more like an unkept shop. I placed my order and they automatically made it to go so there was no option to dine in. The poke bowl is the only reason I'm leaving the 2 starts because while the flavors were ok the rice and fish being warm was a total turn off. They were very generous with the portions but I didn't even bother trying to eat it all. I just picked at what I liked because the whole warm poke was just a huge turn off for me.
