I discovered Terzo while walking through Metuchen one evening. Once I looked up the menu and saw they had tiramisu pancakes, I knew I had to have them! They were delicious. I generally am a sweet and savory kind of brunch-er, so it felt like a missed opportunity to not have traditional brunch sides like home fries on the menu to accompany my dessert style pancakes. Being able to make reservations online is always a plus. The restaurant itself was welcoming with a modern rustic vibe. Service was good and attentive. I arrived at Terzo on a whim. I was in Edison for a doctor's appointment and wanted to grab some Italian takeout. After searching Yelp, I found Terzo in a neighboring town--close enough to be worth the drive. I initially called to place a takeout order, but they weren't offering takeout that day. Instead, I decided to dine in, and I'm so glad I did. I was greeted warmly by the hostess and chose to sit outside. The patio runs alongside the street, but it's incredibly charming and cozy, with string lights and music creating a relaxed atmosphere. The staff was genuinely hospitable, and the service was nothing short of exceptional. For my entrée, I ordered the Pistachio Stracciatella pasta without the sausage. The pasta was fresh, rich, and wonderfully creamy. A sprinkle of Parmigiano-Reggiano took it to the next level. I also enjoyed a half bottle of Pinot Noir, which paired perfectly with the meal. For dessert, I ordered the Banana Amaretto Pie, and it was absolutely delicious. The banana mascarpone filling was the star of the dish and ended the meal on a perfect note. My friend invited me to go have dinner at Terzo, I was skeptical after I read some reviews about this place; The Pasta's dishes are too small for the price they were saying, I was craving for pasta that night and despite those reviews we went; Let me walk you into the full experience; We arrived a bit earlier than the time of the reservation and the hostess told us to give them some minutes and the table was going to be ready soon, so I asked to confirm that the place is a BYOB and so we walked to a liquor store nearby; When we went back the table was ready; The place is cozy, it gives you the warm atmosphere of HOME; The waitress , Salvi welcomed us and gave us the menu, everything on that sound delicious; We opted for Wagyu Meatball Pomodoro and two pasta dishes , Pistachio & Stracciatella and Smoked Beef Cheek "Amatriciana", let me tell you, the quantity was perfect for the price and they both were delicious; At the end we got the olive oil cake to complete ; vote 100 to the experience; Great hospitality, amazing service and delicious food; I'll definitely be back soon; read more

My MIL decided to take me here to celebrate my birthday last night (Sunday evening). We had been to Torino under the new ownership last year and she had been back a few weeks ago with the new menu/name and had a good meal. We did enjoy the calamari appetizer but then it went down hill. Sadly we didn't love it and for the price increase, not worth it. A few things to note: -My FIL pork chop was very fatty (he left a huge chunk of fat behind, waitress said nothing) -They declined to accommodate my request for side pasta with garlic/oil or butter (even though my MIL had requested the same previously and they accommodated?) - I would have been happy with plain pasta but waitress declined. I also asked for very very little sauce, this was also ignored. (See photo) - My eggplant parm was all breading, could barely see the eggplant. I prefer less breading. - My husband's lobster/crab risotto had some small hard shells (which can happen but not ideal) - Tiramisu was just ok, mostly whipped cream in a bowl / chocolate tart was good! But neither were very memorable at $10 each. - nothing special for my birthday, no candle, no mention of it - nothing. Waitress knew it was my birthday because my MIL mentioned it a few times while we were ordering... Overall the meal was pricey. With the new ambience they increased rates.. but also have a more limited menu. Sadly with all the amazing accommodating restaurants in the area, we won't be back. Another table also sent pasta back for children that was extremely spicy, yikes. I hope the owner see's this as well, they should know people are more than happy to spend the extra dollars on quality IF the smallest accommodations can be made and they feel taken care of. Just got done having the most delicious dinner at Terzo. EVERYTHING is Phenomenal!!! We shared the meatball app which was divine. All the pasta is homemade and is to die for!!!! Found this spot on either tiktok or instagram where they talked about their 3 course pasta tasting menu, so of course, safe to say that I was SOLD. Decided to come here to celebrate Valentine's Day together earlier than everyone else so that we didn't have to deal with heavy crowds. Honestly, great idea. For apps, we had Brussels sprouts and their terzo salad and that already was amazing. Then, of course, we each did the tasting course. There were 6 different pastas on the menu to choose from so we got lucky and were able to try all 6! 10/10 would recommend doing this if you're on a date with your SO, you should do this so you can try each pasta dish they have to offer. Amazing!!! Came in right before the snowy storm and I am so glad I did! Everything was heavenly. Perfectly salted meals, great flavor (especially the frittata). The salad we had to start was ok. My wife and I had the pasta with pork ragu that was underwhelming. We split the Chicken Parmagiana which is huge with a side dish of pasta. Either we finish the dish or take it home. We did neither. The place is pretty my server is a good man. They need to tighten up the food first and the staff wil get better with practice. Terzo is a true hidden gem in Metuchen. We went for a lunch date and have no regrets picking this spot. For apps, we went with the Fried Calamari Agridolce and the Burrata Fritti. Both were excellent, but the calamari was a standout as it was perfectly fried and had layers of wonderful classic Italian flavors. Easily one of the best versions I've had and would definitely go back just for it. The burrata, paired with prosciutto and truffle honey, was fresh and balanced beautifully with the panko crust was not too greasy, adding a nice texture contrast. For a place touting their fresh housemade pasta we had to try it and ordered the Caramelized Onion Cacio e Pepe and the Mafaldine Modenese. The pastas were spot-on--chewy in the best way, full of flavor, and plated in generous portions. You can really taste the freshness and quality in their homemade pasta. Personally I think the Cacio e Pepe was the better of the two for flavors but both were great. Prices are fair for the quality, and there are options for a range of dietary preferences (Vegetarian, Gluten/Egg/Diary Free). Parking is either in a municipal lot behind the restaurant or street-side. Between the warm atmosphere and standout food, Terzo is a great place to stop by if you want fresh pasta or amazing calamari. read more

Calamari is SO good! Chicken parm portion size is the largest I have even seen, good for 2-3 people! I got to try every pasta dish that we ordered and every single one of them is unique, perfectly cooked, tasty and al dente. Just the way homemade pasta should be. We sat for 15 minutes while the restaurant was cleaning up from brunch and were ignored by every staff member. All we got were waters and then no one came back to us. Food was good but not excellent. My pasta dish was $32 and very small. My guests seemed to enjoy their dinners, but again they were on the small side. Desserts and salads were also small for the price but delicious. Atmosphere was nice except for the very loud music. They were playing some pretty heavy rock music.
